neenz · 08/01/2010 12:16

Vix, phew, you are in Leicester - I had a horrible thought that you might be my SIL! I think she is due in Sept tho, she is about 5 wks gone I think.

I am having to eat every hour or two as well. Just had lovely minestrone soup and bread for lunch (part one). Lunch part two comes at 2pm

I have been feeling rough today. dh woke me up coughing at 5am and it took me till about 6.30 to get back to sleep. But thankfully the DTs slept in till 8.30

Anyone else feeling really horny? I think I was like this last time too, it's the hormones or something. Sorry if TMI!!

Starshaker, we have a multiple mums chat thread in the multiples section (it starts D'you ever wonder...), so come and ask any questions you want. They are all a bit mad but very friendly!

driedapricots · 08/01/2010 12:20

hmm..no i am NOT feeling horny. far from it. feel like a big fat sick and tired lump!!!
I did first pregnancy, but the sheer exhaustion from never having slept properly since DD was born 2 years ago means it's actually a bloody miracle we are expecting another baby at all!!!

Chulita · 08/01/2010 12:26

driedapricots I've not got cystitis stuff but I do have thrush I had it the whole 9 months with DD and thought I was going to escape it this time but it just set it. Nothing could shift it last time either...not happy at all
DH is desperate for me to be horny, I was the opposite last time but I'm still throwing up and knackered so I'm hoping once that clears up I'll be up for it

Aussieng · 08/01/2010 12:26

LOL and at horny. Not had sex in about 7-8 weeks now. Poor poor DH. When I got the BFP in November and felt so ill I told him that I was sure we would get to it again "this year". Nope but I have given him the same reassurance for 2010 . Fortunately over Xmas we went out with 3 of my friends and their DH's who all have LO's and that made him feel better less alone since they 'fessed up to similar lack of action during pregnancy

Aussieng · 08/01/2010 12:28

Oh thanks BigMutha for the watermelon info - will chase that up.

neenz · 08/01/2010 12:34

lol at 'this year' . Silly question maybe, but are you an Aussie, aussieng? I was born in Brisbane but have been in the UK since 1985 . My parents are both british. Never been back (so far) but one day hopefully!

BigMomma3 · 08/01/2010 12:48

Had my nuchal scan yesterday and have updated my due date. Thank god it's earlier! Was told the nuchal fluid looked ok and all bits present and correct! Will have to wait for the bloods though. Had to take all the DCs as schools were shut and DH had to go to work. DD was gaping in amazement and now actually believes that we are having a new addition . DSs were like 'when can we go home, we want to play in the snow' . So were not impressed! Now know there is definitely only one so will have to blame my massive stomach on wind and too much carbs. New eating plan starts tomorrow!

neenz, my only sister-in-law is gay and never wants kids so no worries on that score!

Soo not horny, total opposite of that. Hard to be horny when you feel queasy and fat and if DH so much as looks in the general direction of my boobs they hurt!!

Chulita · 08/01/2010 13:25

DH likes to come up behind me and smack my arse...he can't understand why I find it irritating - but yes, fat/nauseous/bloated/metallic taste 'oh, ok, let's have sex' I do feel sorry for him, but not sorry enough obviously

Bewler · 08/01/2010 13:40

There's one thing putting me off S-E-X and it aint being pregnant...its the frickin cold! I have taken to leaping into bed in full on pjs and clutching a hot water bottle in the foetal position until I'm warm enough to contemplate sleep. NO WAY I'm getting my kit off and risking foo foo frost bite. What's that you say? Central heating? Its on max but is just not sufficient to thaw my libido. Roll on warmer weather or I shall have to by some crotchless jim jams or something

Chulita · 08/01/2010 13:47

crotchless jim jams - the height of fashion

ElusiveMoose · 08/01/2010 13:56

Bewler, there's always a solution. DH and I managed it fully clothed under our massive duvet yesterday. (He had a snow day, so we snuck off to bed during DS's lunchtime nap - felt like a teenager again!). As you may have guessed, I'm definitely feeling more up for it while I'm pregnant - and it's so nice after 'trying' for 9 months to actually just be able to do it when you feel like it.

To the other Kent ladies, my local hospital is Pembury, which is where I had DS. Bit run down, but the staff are lovely. And of course this time it will feel like having a baby in a building site, which is exactly what it is at the moment. If we could have waited another six months I could have had it in the lovely shiny new hospital, where apparently every patient will have a private room . Still, the old Pembury does have a sort of front-line field hospital kinda charm.

SO fed up with this weather now. Made it to toddler group this morning and it was so lovely just to get out of the house. More snow at the weekend, though - grrrr and brrrr.

BigMomma, great news on your scan .

KayloHalo · 08/01/2010 14:01

hi everyone sorry it's been a while.

Mixed messages to relay on this post...

so so sorry to hear your news MrsGazebo - do take care of yourself and spoil yourself rotten!!! Sending you smiles

Starshaker well well well......MANY CONGRATS!!! You must be thrilled, and nervous? Wow, our first set of twins

Ok, heres my food diary for today:-
5:30am - slice of warbies farmhouse toast with lurpak

11:30am - sausage and tomato sandwich on a bread roll.

12:10pm large egg mayo sandiwch (yes I know I'm not supposed to have it...)

12:30 boost chocolate bar

12:50 cherry flavoured powerade (no cherryade available here )

as a result of consuming all of the above am now soooo tired and almost asleep at my desk.

And who was it that said they were horny??? DH should be so lucky I barely have the energy to drag my arse to my car after work. Especially with the road conditions being as they are - can't drive in a straight line lately...

Dh's medical appointment yesterday was horrendous!!! We arrived at the hospital at 3pm, he went in for his colonoscopy at 3:15. So there I sat in the waiting room and watched the closk turning past the expiry time on my parking ticket - I didn't know my way back to the carpark to put another one on, nor did I have anymore change.
At 5:30pm(!!) a doctor finally came out to advise me that dh was now in recovery. I was supposed to be back at work for 6pm - so I called and let them know. We didn't leave the hospital until almost 7pm and I didn't get back to work until 8pm, so I only stayed for an hour and went home.
Employer not amused today and I now face a warning for taking care of my hubby and putting him before my job.

I know this sounds like a me me me post but my work is really getting me down at the moment because they have no contingency plans for if staff can't get into work and are insisting that we all risk aour necks (and unborn babies!!) to get there because of service levels and contracts, blah blah blah.
I wish I worked for an understanding employer because with everything going on now with dh (he's been told he's riddled with Crohns Disease ) Theres gonna be many appointments that I need to attend with him meaning missing work.

Feeling sad today and very hormonal. Wish I was on maternity leave already so I didn't have to face these issues.

Sorry if I depressed you!

sorry!

driedapricots · 08/01/2010 14:20

KayloHalo you poor thing. Things sound very tough for you right now, and pregnancy hormones do have a way of making things seem even worse.
Your employer does have to be more flexible i'm sure, although I'm afraid I have no tangible advice/insights to offer.
Just remember you and hubby have a little cutie on his/her's way who'll help you put everything into perspective and put a smile on your face on the worst of days
On a brighter note, I love your food diary, makes me feel much better about snacking on Cornish wafers all morning- nearly had a whole packet!

neenz · 08/01/2010 14:26

Kaylohalo, so sorry for all your troubles. It's a grey area with employers when you or dh is sick, they normally don't have to pay you (check your contract) although obviously most do on compasssionate grounds. Can you have a meeting with your manager to discuss things and work out how you can go to the appts and make the time up?

I am at home with the DTs and they were playing and it all went a bit quiet, so I went to check on them and they are upstairs (I left the gate open) They are in my room playing so I think I will take the opportunity to go an have a lie down.

mrsZaC · 08/01/2010 14:33

Owh kaylo I'm so sorry your having a rubbish time with work. Just think it isn't long till you are off and will be cuddling that bundle of joy! all will be forgotten

I've also been gorging today, just can't help myself

08:30 cereal & tangarine
10:00 croissant & decaff coffee mmm
11:00 - 13:00 grazing on my olives and japanese rice crackers
14:00 pret mushroom risotto soup - TASTY! with a 1/2 tuna sandwich.
14:30 3 terrys chocolate orange segments

yikes! but on a more positive note, I get a delivery to work twice a week from 'graze'(mmmmmm graze....) it's really helped stop me snacking on rubbish (most days...) check it out if you fancy, your first box is free! it's graze.com and if you use this code XQQLBQYF I get some pennies of my boxes, winner!

sore, sleepy and sicky today (&now very full!)

on the horny front I've been totally off s-e-x some days and horny others, luckily I'm lovin' my sensitive boobies but I'm quite a fan of boob-play anyway (sorry if tmi). Crotchless jammies sounds fab, but also slightly wrong somehow....DH is a little hungry in this department so I don't think i would get away with going off it totally...

Allthe8s · 08/01/2010 15:04

Hi Ladies, I hope that you are all well and not too sicky!

Going to leave you as all is not looking good my end, had a scan this morn and although pregnancy is viable I am only measuring 6 weeks (7+2 today) and heart beat was slow. Sonographer was nice but honest and said it will probably end before I go back for another scan next Thursday. I am prepared for the worst having been here before but ever hopefully that this bean is taking after me (I have a slow ticker) and DD1 (who was small).........

Wishing you all the best of luck with your beans in the meantime xxxxx

KayloHalo · 08/01/2010 15:09

oh Allthe8s thats not fair Lets just hope you just have a lazy bean there. It's not over til it's over honey. Keeping my fingers/toes crossed for you!!!

OP posts:
Bewler · 08/01/2010 15:12

Oh Allthe8s I don't know what to say.... I'm so very sorry. I really admire you for staying positive and sincerely hope for good news. I will be thinking about you.

neenz · 08/01/2010 15:13

Sorry to hear that Allthe8s . Good luck for next Thursday. Praying for a miracle.

MrsZac at hungry! I felt a bit sorry for my Dh cos when we were ttc we were at it at least every other day (cos I had irregular periods so never quite sure when I was going to OV) and then of course once we got bfp that was it for ages!

driedapricots · 08/01/2010 15:15

Ditto previous 2 posts Allthe8s Thinking of you

mrsZaC · 08/01/2010 15:19

Allthe8s rubbish news all the very best of luck, I hope everything turns out to be ok

I know neez he's a horny little monster! had to go through therapy for it any everything! he's being quite understanding the moment but if I leave it too long the moods will start.. he's not as bad as he sounds, he isn't forceful or nothin' just.. well hungry!

x

vix206 · 08/01/2010 15:22

Allthe8s I am so sad to read this, do take care of yourself

MrsZaC, OMG Graze!! I had never heard of it but I have signed up, first delivery next Tuesday!

driedapricots · 08/01/2010 15:39

hmm.. am a little worried now. just checked out cystitis online and didn't realise it can be dangerous in pregnancy...great can't get to docs til tues at earliest now either... i'll be stocking up on cranberry juice in meantime i guess
having a very boring slow day at work, can't apply myself to do anything!
mrsZaC that's so funny..my DH is the opposite- minimal sex drive most of the time which suits me fine!!! I see this is your first bubba, maybe he'll calm down a bit when sleep deprivation kicks in! - hope so for your sake... ;)
