So Sorry for you Freezing, I am very sad that there has been so much loss on this thread. I hope that all of you who have had such awful news have good news in the future.

Aussieng · 18/01/2010 11:58

Sorry Freezing. Take good care of yourself.

Good luck to those of you with scans soon. I'm sure all will be fine and it will be lovely to have some more good news.

sam86 · 18/01/2010 12:27

im so sorry freezing , try not to give up hope until you know for sure. the a&e sound ridiculous that they couldnt give you more help, and im really sorry youve got to wait so long for a scan. did they check to see if your cervix was open or closed? i suffered a really horrific threatened miscarriage at 8 weeks with my first little girl, i bled so much within 5 minutes i was totall y soaked to the hem of my trousers - it looked like id been stabbed, but somehow she was still there, so i will keep everything crossed for you, your in my thoughts, really hope you get your miracle too xxx

Dibbydab · 18/01/2010 13:49

Big hugs for Boos and Freezing

12 weeks today and my sickness has all but stopped - it gradually tailed off at the end of last week (just in time for my cold starting!)

Have my scan on Thursday and am just trying to think positive, what will be will be, but I reallllllllly want it to be OK (obv), otherwise the last 3 months will have been absolutely crap for nothing

Alice your post about the scanner did make me laugh - hopefully your DH won't be delivering your little one James Herriott stylee with a huge plastic glove on

Grapes are my fav craving at the moment, and the big news is that I cooked for the first time last night since the end of November, yes, that really was the last time I could face being in the kitchen. Poor DH has been my cook/cleaner/bottle washer since then, but he was mighty relieved when I announced yesterday - "Pass me my Jamie Oliver cook book, we're off on a big shop".

DH had got me a lovely box of Thorntons chocs for Christmas which I have barely managed to touch (though not for lack of trying but MS has been awful), not being a girl to be put off this weekend I wolfed them down, DH said it was possibly one of the most disturbing things he has ever seen , but he was glad to see that I was getting back to my old self (not sure what this says about my old self...)

After much thought and consideration (OK, 2 minutes whilst we were walking the dog) we have decided to call our bean "Kip" (kid in progress). Anyone else not having a bean/bump/prawn?

Crazycatlady · 18/01/2010 14:02

I can't remember if I posted yesterday or not (PG brain), so if I didn't then hello, and sorry I've not posted for so long. Have been rather distracted with other stuff over the last week or so, and DD has also had a really awful vomiting bug so I've been playing nurse and doing a hell of a lot of laundry.

So sorry to see we've lost so many more people . Hope you're all taking care of yourselves and have family and friends around you. Really hoping to see you all back here soon enjoying happy healthy pregnancies.

dibbydab you made me laugh with the Thorntons... I ate an entire 100g toblerone this morning .

We haven't named our bean yet. Will probably think of something after we've seen him/her at the first scan on 27th. Still seems like ages away.

BunnyBaby · 18/01/2010 14:13

Sorry Boos and Freezing.

I know what you mean about A&E, I slid down the stairs with some laundry yesterday morning on my bottom. I was ok, but it gave me such a shock my heart was pounding in my ears for half an hour.

I rang ante-natal at the hospital who told me to go to A&E. Luckily 2yr old DS was playing havoc, and my request to be moved to the child friendly paediatric A&E was accepted as it was a bit of a building site and not too nice a place for children. We don't live near family, so I had to take him with me as DH was at work.

I was seen by the nurse after 45 mins, and the paediatric A&E was quiet, so I actually got one of their doctors. All in all I was in and out in 1hr 15 mins.

THe doctor was really good, had just finished a 4 month antenatal rotation. She palpated me and said my uterus feels fine and soft and the right size for 12 weeks. Apparently the damage is done when you fall on your tummy, and is often followed by contractions / bleeding within the hour. My uterus was soft not hard.

She also mentioned that obstreticians do not scan before a viable time (I think this is 20 weeks+), as if you are miscarrying before this point there is nothing they can do to help.

I have my 12 weeks scan at exactly 12 weeks this Wednesday, so only 48 hours to go.

I'm hoping all is well, still have stretching and sore boobs, but sickness a lot better now. This may just be because it is a different pregnancy, but I clearly remember nausea until 16 weeks with DS.

mrsZaC · 18/01/2010 14:46

hello everyone,

phew it's taken me a couple of hours to trawl through what I've missed over the weekend in-between working of course!

So sorry to hear about more losses , take care of yourself girlies and hope you have lots of cuddles and support.

My weekend was good but I was quite down for some reason, I'm 8+4 and I think I've convinced myself that there is nothing in my belly, especially since my symptoms have been really on and off at the moment and truth be told don't feel much different at all. I've wound myself up so much that I finally gave in and booked myself in for a private scan next wednesday when DH is home. I know I'm probably being a little daft but my NHS scan isn't till nearly 14 weeks and I'll have driven myself crazy by then. I'm a little happier now I know that I'll find out either way next week, but still worrying, can't seem to shake it off.

We've also decided to try to sell our flat and move into a house before baby (hopefully) arrives.. very exciting but only if all is going well with baby and of course if we can sell our flat... phew! This pregnancy thing is a bit more worrying than I first thought!

No fruit cravings really for me but I'm taking Juice Plus, so in theory I'm getting all the fruit and veg I need. Having said that I do have seem to have a thing for clementines.

Crazycatlady · 18/01/2010 15:01

Mmm clementines... now THAT's what I should have had instead of the vast Toblerone

I've been feeling a bit down too MrsZac. I think pregnancy hormones and the horrid cold weather and short days have a lot to answer for. 14 weeks is a long time to wait, I can totally see why you'd want to go for the private scan!

What is this Juice Plus you speak of? Need to get my healthy eating back on track after a weekend of junk.

KayloHalo · 18/01/2010 15:09

Hi everyone

Sorry to read your posts Boo and freezing It's so sad how many people we have lost.

Welcome Dolli

Had to go for my booking bloods this morning and what should have taken 10 minutes ended up taking me 3 and a half hours!! My midwife couldn't get anything from me, so she sent me to another dr's surgery (just across carpark so not too bad) to see if the lady there could do it - no success! So I ended up going to PGI phlebotomy (sp?) for them to do it.
Apparently I'm not a good bleeder! My right arm hurts so much now!

Anyway, I ended up being 4 and a half hours late for work - ooooops! Wasn't something I could have controlled anyway.

Whilst I was waiting for the vampires midwife I missed a call from the ultrasound dept so I rung them back and they told me my scan is on friday at 3:30pm. They were worried the letter wouldn't reach me in time - told my manager today and I swear I saw steam coming out of her ears! It's a long scan as well cos it's dating and Nuchal. More time off work. My manager hates me I'm sure!!

How is everyone?
xxxx

catlady juice plus... www.juiceplus.co.uk/nsa/content/Home.soa?site=sh27943 It's supposed to be 17 of your 5 a day, the idea is that you offer your body everything and it takes what it likes. I've been on it for 5 months now and noticed a. that I got pregant very quickly and b. stronger nails, brighter eyes so hopefully c. is one super healthy little bean!

In the nicest possible way it's nice to hear that others are going through the same thing... I was trying to hold out and not be a 'woos' but I'm justifying this early scan as DH will miss my 14 week! scan so least he will get so see this one, fingers and toes crossed there is a baby nesting in there!

Aussieng · 18/01/2010 16:10

Well having decided at 2.30 today that I could not face being at work any longer and calling up DH for a ride home, I just become the first person ever to puke in DH's taxi

When does the blooming begin....

sam86 · 18/01/2010 16:13

lol aussieng did he charge you the 20 quid to clean it up!? neway, u r entitled to do it, better that it was u than sum drunk little skunk! x

sam86 · 18/01/2010 16:14

oh just wondered is everyone going to have the swine flu jab and getting it for their under 5's? just had our letter through for DD, so planning on bookin her in next week. does anyone kno if kids tend to get sick off this one too? x

Rubena · 18/01/2010 16:22

sorry freezing

swine flu vac didn't affect ds one bit but my arm was aching for 4 days.

Dibbydab · 18/01/2010 16:28

dibbydab you made me laugh with the Thorntons... I ate an entire 100g toblerone this morning

crazycatlady, I hope you mean a 1000g Toblerone bar, pah, I could inhale a 100g bar of chocolate without batting an eyelid you're not trying hard enough!

MrsZac I'd say whatever gives you peace of mind, go with it, a mummy who isn't going batty with worry has got to be best for your bean surely?

My 12 week scan is on Thursday - I didn't even know you could get them done privately, which is lucky because I probably would have booked in for 1 a fortnight!

KayloHalo I'm the exact opposite, huge blue veins in my arms which always elicit the response "oooooh haven't you got good veins" from midwife/blood donor people, - yeah, but what I really want are legs up to my armpits and Cheryl Cole's hair, still thems the breaks!

girlsyearapart · 18/01/2010 16:35

Oh Aussie is your DH a cabbie too?

On the way into hospital in labour with dd2 DH was actually looking at 'points'

Need to make double sure he takes me by car as I bet he'd pick up a fare!

Posted in AIBU about something the midwife said today Liaghen you may be able to answer the question for me.

soontobefatnat · 18/01/2010 16:40

Freezing hope, like everyone else, that you're doing okay and will keep my fingers and toes crossed for your scan.

Rubena totally agree about the Swine Flu dead arm -definitely sore for days!

Dibbydab Bah, nevermind about Cheryl's hair. Has anyone else noticed the small print at the bottom of her L'oreal ad that says "hair style achieved with professional styling and hair extensions"? Heh!

Aussieng · 18/01/2010 17:04

Sam - I told him he should be grateful that I had insisted on leather seats. Luckily I had a plastic bag handy so it was not too bad.

Girlsyearapart yes - technically he's a mini-cab driver so no picking up fares on the street. But as he was driving me home today a job came up in the suburb next to where we live so he took it then realised that he could not get to it in the required response time. So I got dropped off at the nearest pub while he took the fare and then came back and collected me It was the coke that I had to drink in the pub that I puked

neenz · 18/01/2010 19:10

Ha ha Aussie, well I think that serves him right

Freezing, so sorry . Take care of yourself.

I am 10+1 today and feeling a lot better, but that's just normal isn't it? I think MS tails off between 10 and 12 weeks [hopes]

I rang the antenatal clinic today cos still no booking in or scan date and she said they only received my referral last Wed . That's cos I saw a trainee GP at 6w pg to get referred, and she told me to make my own appt with the mw. I did that then the mw rang me the day before to say no they contact me to make the appt, so I asked her to check I had been referred properly - obviously I hadn't! So the An clinic said ring back in a couple of days cos they will prob have a date for me then. How annoying!

My SIL who has been had some bleeding seemed a lot brighter yesterday, she feels a bit sick again and not much more bleeding so fingers crossed. She is going to get in for an early scan.

Chulita · 18/01/2010 20:01

Sorry to hear your news freezing, I hope you're back on the ante-natal threads very soon!

I've still got ms and I'm 13+4 but I had it with DD til 24wks so I'm just hoping this tails off. I spent an hour cooking sweet & sour pork and couldn't eat it - I felt so ill what a freaking waste of time...don't know if it made it worse that DH said it was the best meal I'd cooked in ages!
I look about 6 months pregnant right now, it's quite embarrassing, I can't hide it at all and people are already starting the 'let's all stare at the pregnant woman' lark I blame the c-section for ruining my abs again.

alys78 · 19/01/2010 07:31

I am leaving the thread today.

Had my 12 week scan yesterday and there was no heartbeat and peanut had stopped growing at 8 weeks.

Good luck to you all and stay safe, no more for us, we can't go through this again, twice in four months is more than enough!!

stay safe and big hugs to you all

xxxxxx

soontobefatnat · 19/01/2010 07:38

Oh Alys so sorry to hear your news.
