whensmydayoff · 06/01/2010 18:37

Congrats Fraoch, enjoy every second.

crumpette Ooh your (our) due date! I was just having a wee look at the list as I was due today and say your name. How are you feeling?

I really hope your DP gets himself together soon.
I do think though that no matter what, at some point you both should get councelling.

Everyone deals with things differently and that in itself can build up huge resentment.

I hope you are ok anyway and I wish you all the best birthing vibes I can summon up and can't wait to hear who your little one is?!

Thanks CTFN re my moany post the other day. I think I feel guilty about everything when I have a new baby, was same with DS! I think it turns out she has colic as all the probs really kick off early evening and can go on non stop until 2-3am. I had infacol I had bought before the birth but when it came to using it, my mad hormones took over my mind and I was thinking that giving her infacol would wipe out all the goodness of breast milk . Anyway last night I snapped out of madness, gave her infacol and she fed at 12am, 0345 and 6.30am. Burped and went down no problem . Much improved, what a nutter I am.
I even promised myself I would not go through hell with breastfeeding this time and only do it if it worked out. Why cant I think straight once the baby is here.
Your time with Olivia on Formula sounds much more civilised!! x

nomorebooze · 06/01/2010 18:54

hi peeps! dropped off last thread as was in labour!!!!!! had to call an ambulance to get to hospital as car well snowed in!!! had an eventful 17hr labour and my wee one arrived at 1230am on the 2nd of january

Megan was born weighing in 5lbs 12ozs, 3 weeks early, she is doing really well but i stayed in hospital till yesterday to establish breast feeding! hospital support was fab and made me stay till i was confident with things, so i got home yesterday and snowed in again. Lol!

skidoodle · 06/01/2010 18:55

congratulations fraochsmum, and now somebody else's mum too

Just seeing the lovely names all the babies born so far have been given. 2 Olivias - I love the name Olivia. Not an option for me as one of DD's "friends" (in reality the CM's 10yo daughter) is called that, and would cause too much confusion.

skidoodle · 06/01/2010 19:00

Oh and congratulations nomorebooze, it sounds like you were the first January birth. And another lovely name

whensmydayoff · 06/01/2010 19:04

congrats nomorebooze. I love the name Megan too. Another 3 weeks early baby too.

More to point - loads of girls. Better get more boys soon to even things up!

Southwestwhippet · 06/01/2010 19:12

congrats to all that have had their January babies

still waiting......

salvadory · 07/01/2010 06:04

Hi everyone and greetings from the mat ward where I have just spent my first night as a brand new mummy. Imogen was born at 7.29 Wednesday morning and my heart has felt like it's going to burst with the love I have for her. I had an emergency c section after 2 x failed pessaries and 7 hours of syntocinon no contractions and a dropping foetal heart rate. Ended up with an epidural and the absolute opposite of the low intervention water birth I had hoped for, the midwives were fabulous although one said that anyone who makes a birth plan usually ends up having more intervention than those who don't bother!! Blooming typical eh!! Still i would have had any procedure necessary to keep her safe and well.
Congrats to no more booze and little megan too, just off for a feed now x

sockmonkey · 07/01/2010 07:25

Massive congratulations salv! Another beautiful name... Don't we all have good taste

rest up and hope you recover quickly.

Had really bad back ache last night and was hoping it would be the start of something, but no such luck!

Morning all

Well I had the worse nights sleep ever! I finally know (I think) what those infamous Braxton Hicks are! My god they can make you wince. Have had them off and on all night along with period type pains in my lower back. Am waiting to hear whether that means if my consultant wants me to come back in or whether it is just false alarm/ body warming up. Either way they are damned uncomfortable! With DS, I went from waters breaking to c section, so this is all new to me!

Hope everyone else well, wonder if any more bubs have been born!

OP posts:
Sixmincepiessoontobeseven · 07/01/2010 09:56

Morning all.

No bubs here yet, but as its just took half an hour to get kids to school with dhs help I'm not sure I want it to make an appearance until snow clears.

salv I also have Imogen as an option, fab name, hope you are both well.

nomore fraoch congrats on your little ones.

If I was a panic-er I would have been in and out of hospital by now, I am constantly getting BHs for a few hours, back ache and leaking but it all amounts to nothing after about 3 hours. So still waiting here too

38+5

mistletoekisses · 07/01/2010 10:02

Sixmince - thats what I thought! It is so confusing as to whether it is false alarm or the real deal. My problem is that I dont want to risk progressing too far into labour with a section booked.

Am about to call the delivery ward and see if they can get my consultant to tell me whether to go in. If I go in, and they say that there are some signs of movement - I may well insist that they just do the section/ keep me in. As opposed to sending me back home and risking my not being able to get back in if things do progress. The main roads in London/ inner Surrey are still ok.

At least DH is working from home again today. I want this baby to come now!!!

OP posts:
Southwestwhippet · 07/01/2010 10:35

Good luck mistletoekisses I hope everything goes ok for you. Especially with this weather, it is making the timing of everything really complicated isn't it? I've gone from praying baby will come today to really hoping he/she can hang on at least until the snow clears.

I'm in a good mood today, having had a (small-ish) row with my DP last night about coming home from work late and not telling me then buggering off on his bycycle in the snow all evening and leaving me by myself - I'm pregnant ok, I'm allowed to be slightly unreasonably hormonal and demanding - he has actually decided not to fight his way into work through the snow today and we are off out into the countryside on an adventure together to get some hay for my pony. Poor pony is currently standing in field looking hungry and confused by all the snow! It is also my little sister's birthday today so we are going for a meal at my parents' house. It is so nice when you are on maternity leave to have a day of 'activities' planned, I'm really getting cabin fever now LOL

Hoping everyone else has a really nice day too and lots of babies start to make their way into the world
xx

Biccy · 07/01/2010 10:53

Congratulations salvadory, lovely news and lovely name.

CantThinkofFunnyName · 07/01/2010 10:59

Morning everyone. What lovely news to log on to. Congrats Salvadory and Nomorebooze.

MistletoeKisses - where are you having your baby btw? You mentioned in a previous post about Central London not being too bad for snow and I read that you were travelling to hospital in Central London, when you live o/s London... are you going to make me v jealous and say you are booked in at the Portland or St Mary's? I kept asking DH if we could do that just because.... the answer was a resounding "no". Harumph.

LOL @ Siochfrada and tampon to mop up nosebleed!!

WMDO - I'm using the Infacol too!!

Yes, lots of girls so far, oodles of lovely names and all small babies too!

Roll on the boys and let's see how the birth weights now start going up as the babies are cooked to perfection!

CantThinkofFunnyName · 07/01/2010 11:24

Took forever completing my earlier post and therefore missed MK and SixMincePies posts...!

Totally sympathise with both of you. That's exactly where I was a couple of weeks ago and like MK, with a planned section, unstable lie and being told by the medics to go in as soon as there is sign of movement - it panics you a little and confuses the hell out of you as to whether its the real thing or not!

And it really doesn't matter whether you've had DCs before - it still feels new and different!

Siochfradha · 07/01/2010 11:34

Morning all!

Having lazy one today... had booked self in for leg/bikini wax this lunchtime but now cancelled. Not feeling up to it - seem to have picked up some sort of UTI thing and felt that was punishment enough for the day. Have MW later anyway and hopefully she can give me something to take the itch/stupid stabby pain away...

Are you less paranoid about ppl seeing an untended ladygarden second time around? Mine is pretty feral but i might just be lacking perspective!!

somewhathorrified · 07/01/2010 11:47

Sioch I'm working on the principle that MW's etc are always saying they've 'seen it all before' ergo an overgrown, unkempt lady garden is nothing. If there are any dreadlocks down there that are in the way I'm sure they'll trim them back .

I'm sure all the boys are waiting til the last minute to make an appearance, it's a good thing babies can't talk, you can just imagine the excuses male newborns would come up with! "It's not my fault, your cervix wouldn't let me out!"

Congratulations to all the new arrivals.

Siochfradha · 07/01/2010 11:59

somewhathorrified i've always assumed mine was a boy (and a red head), but not due for a while yet. every first born in both families are boys for last 2 generations! So maybe there will be a last minute boyrush...

Having said that , I'll probably produce a dark haired girl...oh can't WAIT to see!!
