Also dp is convinced we ar having a girl and I think its a boy lol but with ds I didnt find out but throughout pregnancy I was certain it was a girl and when he was born I think I was shocked. This I honestly dont care what we have but more so because we have waited so long for this baby

I haven't had my scan either, it will be next Wednesday 13th. I hope everything goes well hmm.

Excited and nervous at the same time.

Tish - lovely picture, the detail is great. I hope mine goes as well as yours.

Stac - when's your scan?

Report
Emster30 · 05/01/2010 21:13

Good luck for tomorrow stac! I second the advice about not drinking too much - I did go to the loo while I was waiting but then I drank some more water and the sonographer commented that I had a very full bladder and it must be uncomfortable. It was! She said you don't need a full bladder at all. But I know that does vary.

Like tsc I want to find out and DH doesn't, so we won't, which is a bit annoying. Not sure why his desire should get priority!

TishTosh21 · 05/01/2010 21:14

It'll be fine raimata make sure to post a pic for us to see! Yeah im amazed by the detail.

Btw curlycasper thats a foot you were looking at! We even saw his/her little nose

Hi ladies,

I'm new to this thread but on a different July one elsewhere.

I feel a bit of a fraud as my due date was the 1st July but after my 12 week scan it was brought forward to the 29th June. I still think of myself as having a July baby though.

I'm 15 weeks now and starting to feel like time is going quickly! It really dragged at first but everyone told me that after the 12wk scan things start to seem to speed up.

I've now got an appt to see my midwife for a 16wk check a week on Monday and my 20 wk scan date on the 11th Feb. Can't wait! I feel like Im wishing time away a bit but also want to appreciate and enjoy every bit.

Look forward to more chat...x

We don't want to find out. I liked the surprise last time and want that again.

Good luck for tomorrow Stac

I said the other night I was skimming the Due Dec thread looking for name inspiration and I didn't see any twins there, so to all those not had a scan yet don't panic

All I've done all day is eat

Good luck for 2mrw Stac! X

Hey jbro I know you from the other thread, how are you? Are you blooming yet? Hope it does start speeding up after the scan

Thanks everyone for the support for the scan. We are getting a new kitchen and bathroom fitted tomorrow so cant even stay in before I go but I am going to my aunts so it will be a feet up day with magazines lol. emster thanks for the advice, think I will take a bottle of water with me and drink it on the way there, I feel like I pee the trevi fountain at the moment.

raimata Its tomorrow afternoon so cant wait. Know how you feel about being nervous but try not too worry

tsc that message should have read that I dont care what I am having as this is a much awaited baby but like tish I want to be prepared.

yeah tish tickets were bought before I found out I was pregnant but I am still going lol friends think its great cos I will drive (buggers!)

winter any insperation name wise from the other threads? have you thought of any?

Has anyone got thier nanes sorted? We have a few but keep chopping and changing, also had a look through mumsnet baby name finder but have no idea what to call the soul will be called lol Maybe we could start a list of names between us see what we come up with. What do you think? xxx

Yes I could do with some inspiration on names. DH has vetoed a lot of my favourites! Current ideas are as follows, in order of liklihood:

Girl:
Zoe
Sophie
Lucy

Boy:
James (maybe Jim for short)
Nick
Zach

We liked
Boy:
Aaron
Aiden
Kayden

Girl:
Kaya
Leah
Emma

But no Dp says Kaya sounds like a dogs name, which drives me mad because loads of people are wasting perfectly good names on dogs

Emster love Sophie but its DP's m8s daughter so he want go for that. I also really like Grace after DPs mum but she hates her names so has asked us not to call the baby that. I can see this causing problems lol

Any suggestions greatly appreciated

Leah is pretty. Dulcie is my DH's gran's name but I can see it working on a baby!

My BIL has said he has always always planned to call his DD Sophie so will be very cross if we bag it. He is only 23 though and nowhere near the kids stage! It has been on my list for years but have gone off it a bit as it is just so common.

Hi, scan went well yesterday, all good with the baby, although twas a bit upsetting as anougher lady had her husband and son with her and was all happy and smiley, went in for her scan and got ushered into a side room, after my scan i left and the husband was outside phoning someone to tell them his wife had lost the baby, terrible, especially as they had their little boy with them

They have moved my date forward slightly to the 12th, not that it matters as it will arrive when good and ready!

Managed to pop into next on the way home and picked up two pairs of maternity jeans for £11!! bargain!

WickedWitchSouthWest- 2 and a half hours, wow that is quick no wonder your scared! You mentioned m&s baby stuff, Ive been looking at some bits in there recently, do they wash well and retain their shape etc?

Chulita- That?s sounds quite simple, what about regulating the temperature, do you have to just keep removing some water and topping it up with hot in a bucket or something?

Gracie123- I really really sympathise on the ms front, mine has stepped up a gear this week and im now being sick several times a day. With my first baby they put me on promethazine, but for me it made it worse so I stopped taking them. Im going to look at some vit B6 tablets as they are supposed to decrease nausea too.

Anyone had a emmaljunga pram before?
I really want the duo combi but am anxious to find out if there are any snags i should be aware of before buying. with ds1 we had a jane matrix powertrack 360, but dp chose it and i liked it with the matrix part(carrycot) but disliked it as a pushchair, I want something more traditional ths time! we have got a techno xt so dont really need a massive pram, but I really like the look of it!

tsc I love Miles, need to pass that one by DH but no point till much later down the line as he just throws in stupid names like Frodo and Arwen and doesn't take it seriously. Can you tell he's a LOTR fan?

I like Isla and Beatrice (Bea) for girls but only have Miles on my boys list. Bit of a bummer since my gut tells me I'll have another boy
