Hi there

I have been on the July thread, but it moves so fast and as I don't have time (or energy being so sleepy), I can't keep up with everyone who is on several times a day! If anyone else wants to join me in a slower thread to share how your pregnancy is developing, feel free!

OP posts:

And yes not too worried about the placenta as is most cases it moves up just fine doesn't it...let's hope the consultant just says nothing to worry about.

GibbonInARibbon · 17/02/2010 19:23

The heartbeat I mean...sorry rambling now

ApuskiDusky · 17/02/2010 19:44

I've just done a quick search on here, and there are quite a few threads about this, sounds like it isn't uncommon, and there are quite a few of stories about it clearing up by itself. Might be worth a quick look if you're feeling the need to research, got to be better than google!

It's easy to say, but try not to worry. Fingers crossed for the consultant appointment.. x

GibbonInARibbon · 17/02/2010 19:50

Thanks Apuski have been doing the same thing! Has made me feel better, seems it's more common than I thought an usually rights itself, going to try not to worry until I have been told there is reason to x

JBroRo · 17/02/2010 20:51

Hello,

Could I join?? Im technically due on the 29th June but kind of expect that the baby will arrival in July (obviously I know I could be very wrong!).

That makes me 21 wks - first baby.

Had my 20 wk scan last week and all seems fine. My placenta is anterior and has a 2cm fibroid growing on it but the sonographer didn't seem concerned at all so neither am I.
x

Thanks, in a bit of a state today but have just got an appointment for Monday morning so counting down the hours.

lifeistooshort · 18/02/2010 12:25

Hi everyone

Thanks for the re-assurance. There is another thread about weight loss in pregnancy and I feel a bit less worried about it now.

Gibbons sorry to hear you are worried too and I am sure Monday seems like a long way away (a long weekend of worrying). I hope you manage to stay calm-ish and that everything will be fine on Monday

I am still resting. Feeling a bit better except that my SPD seems to be starting. Need to get to a chiro asap.

Welcom JBrobo

GibbonInARibbon · 18/02/2010 12:34

lifeistooshort - glad you are resting and I'm sorry that in my upset I didn't even post to wish you better you have really been through it bless you but hopefully onwards and upwards now.

Yes this weekend will drag terribly no doubt but please God will get some reassurance on Monday.

Twittle · 18/02/2010 12:47

Hello JBroRo end of June due date I must say that I am wishing these next 20 odd weeks away as I just want to get to D Day but I know that I should be enjoying them really.

GibbonInARibbon sorry to hear about your worry, no doubt it'll seem like a long weekend for you but as you say fingers crossed for some reassurance on Monday which I am sure you will get. I have also had a search and there are a couple of threads about it but it might be helpful to start a new thread up, I did with a problem I was worried about and had some really really helpful responses, it may help to put your mind at rest if only a little bit before Monday? Good luck for Monday though.

EmsieRo 6 - 7 weeks holiday before EDD sounds like a really good idea, and is making me re-think my original four week plan.... the longer the better I reckon and as you say the last bit of free time for a while!!! Also I would hope that your work colleagues will be pleased for you with your news .... have you thought about how you are going to break it to them??

tobago04 · 18/02/2010 18:09

Sorry to hear you are worrying gibbon hope all goes well monday
Welcome jbroro
Hope your spd does'nt get any worse life and glad you are starting to feel a bit better
Not much going on with me except i saw the midwife today and gave her my new EDD and i said i must have only been 9wks when she found the heart beat, but she said that would'nt happen so god knows when it's due

Scruffers · 19/02/2010 08:40

Hurrah! I'm half way today (20 weeks) and I must be looking pregnant as lots of people at work are now commenting. I still cannot feel the baby though and although I know it can be a few more weeks yet I really wish I could. I'm trying to keep this in perspective as I know that some of you have far greater things to worry about than I do, but is anyone else feeling anxious at this stage? My second scan is not for a another 1.5 weeks which feels like ages.

GhoulsAreLoud · 19/02/2010 13:15

Hello everybody,

Gibbon, I'm sorry about your news, it must be so hard not to worry. Keep us posted and I'm sure everything will be fine.

Lifeistooshort you have really been in the wars! How awful, I have been fairly ill with colds and infections this pregnancy and that has been depressing enough. Can't imagine having to cope what you've been through, especially with 2 dc and a job to cope with too.

We had our 20 week scan yesterday, everything looks good, we wanted to find out the sex but the baby had it's legs crossed. Sonographer said it's more likely to be a girl than a boy but couldn't really say. I was quite dissapointed as we were really looking forward to finding out this time so we've got a babybond scan tomorrow to have another look. Pretty sure it's a girl though which we will be very pleased with.

lifeistooshort · 19/02/2010 15:33

Hi everyone I hope you are all well

Gibbons I keep watching your other thread. Not many helpful reply that I can see. I hope you manage to stay sane.

Scruffers congrats on being half way through. I too can't wait for my 20 weeks scan

Ghouls Hello there, long time no speak. I hope I have had my illness for a year now. I really am feeling much better now so fingers crossed. How annoying that the baby wouldn't cooperate and tell you what he/she is! Lucky you have another scan tomorrow. I think the wait would definitely be killing me. I went from deciding not to find out to counting the days until the scan so that we can know what flavour we are having.

I started pregancy yoga yesterday. It was quite relaxing but really made me laugh when the teacher showed a really complicated position and said "that is a really good position to help the baby down when you are in labour". Clearly she can't have children as I doubt anyone could achieve that postion whilst contracting!

GibbonInARibbon · 19/02/2010 15:48

Thanks ghouls - enjoy the scan tomorrow, I bet they manage to tell you the sex

Thanks too lifeistooshort, I do appreciate it

Trying hard to think positive and counting down till Monday.

yoga teacher and her ambitious positions!

JBroRo · 19/02/2010 15:53

Hello again ladies,

I hope everybody is well...Gibbons, I hope you are ok?

I'm just wondering how everybody is doing with weight gain and what your thoughts on it are.

I've avoided getting weighed for quite a while now but decided to have a quick look this morning. I've put on 10lbs so far and am 21 wks. I'd put on a few pounds prior to getting pregnant (was 9st 12lb at 5'4").

Am ok with this weight gain, I think. I know that I'm definitely eating more but have tried to keep up with some exercise too (swimming once a week). Im definitely not obsessive and have a fairly laid back attitude but at the same time I don't want to pile on too much and be left with loads to lose afterwards. Id be happy if I got away with putting on about 2 stone in total. But am I being naive here?? What do other people think/what have those 'already mums' experienced before? xx

lifeistooshort · 20/02/2010 14:43

ghouls did you find out what you are having?

JBroro I think 10 lbs if pretty normal. They usually says two to three stones during the whole pregnancy (depending on how big you started). I am pretty sure I had put on at least a stone at this stage in my previous pregnancies. No weight gain for me yet, but I am sure it will all come with a vengeance later on.

Hi to everyone else. It is a lovely sunny day here (but very freezing)

GhoulsAreLoud · 20/02/2010 20:33

Hello! Yes, we did find out, it's a little girl

DH's Mum thinks it's hilarious that DH is going to be outnumbered by girls as her DC are both DS' so she had a similar experience. We are very pleased, trying to teach 18mo DD to say 'baby sister', so far she says 'baby sissy'

GibbonInARibbon · 20/02/2010 21:54

Oh wonderful news Ghouls! congrats

Ghouls, congratulations!

tobago04 · 22/02/2010 07:37

Congratulations ghouls and Emsie girls are great
I've felt the baby move a few times Emsie,i'm 17wks today but it is my 3rd,they are only faint little movements, think i felt other two dds at about 20wks and 18wks
Good luck for today Gibbon hope all goes well and your mind is put at rest

GibbonInARibbon · 22/02/2010 10:33

I am back and so relieved!

Tis a maturity thing and not uncommon, they say it's electrical. Even since last week I could see it had improved, not missing nearly as many beats. Consultant does not want me back for another check as he is confident it is this electrical thingy and as it has improved since last week already he does not need to see me again.

I can breathe again.

The relief is immense

Thank you all for your lovely well wishes. Hoping all is well and good with you all

lifeistooshort · 22/02/2010 13:18

Hi everyone! What nice news to come to on a Monday.

Congrats ghouls and emsie I think you are the first to have little girls on this thread. All these cute little outfits hey.

gibbons so pleased for you, you must be so relieved. Really really happy for you.

Emsie the yoga wasn't exactly fun but it was quite nice and a rare opportunity for me to focus my mind on the baby. It is also quite nice to be meeting other mums. But I am a bit blase, it is my third DC. I think if it was my first I would be jumping up and done with joy. It is worth doing if only to maintain a little flexibility and to learn some breathing techniques so yes, I think it is worthwhile.

Two weeks before my scan

I think I am about 19 weeks and have been feeling the baby for quite some time (about 3 weeks at least) but it is easier the more baby you get as you stomach muscles are a bit lax. I don't think I felt anything with DD until may be 20 weeks. But this one is definitely a kicker that loves doing the washing in my tummy.

tobago04 · 22/02/2010 16:48

So glad all is well gibbons hope you can now relax and enjoy your pregnancy,
I'm off to Aqua-natel tonight for the first time,i'm hoping it's going to be relaxing more than it will be a work out as it's 8-9pm,what a stupid time
