Hi there

I have been on the July thread, but it moves so fast and as I don't have time (or energy being so sleepy), I can't keep up with everyone who is on several times a day! If anyone else wants to join me in a slower thread to share how your pregnancy is developing, feel free!

Thank you LITS and tobago! feeling so relieved.

Twittle · 23/02/2010 10:15

Gibbon - really pleased for you that everything is ok.
JBroRo I have put on about 101bs so far and am not really enjoying it because I can't get into any of my jeans and have now taken to wearing dresses.... it's my first and so I am not really used to having a bump yet... I will no doubt get used to it as it is getting bumpier every day, haven't bought any maternity clothes yet but think I might have to now..... really hope I don't put on more than a stone and a half as think I might have a job to lose it afterwards.... am trying to walk about four miles four or five times a week and swim 2-3 times but that is more for my own sanity as I am sat in an office all day working and really miss being out in the fresh air - very fresh at the moment with us in fact nearly baltic!!

Congratulations Emsie and Ghouls on the news that you're having girls, they have some really cute girlie clothes in M&S at the moment! Emsie re. baby movements I am not sure that I have felt any either, I say not sure as it's my first and so don't really know what I am looking for but have felt the odd twinge and gurgling at night but think that might just be my supper?!?!?!?!

GibbonInARibbon · 23/02/2010 12:52

Thank you

Well LITS inspired me to get my pregnancy yoga DVD out this morning when DD was in pre school. Could so not be arsed but do feel better for it so will make sure I do it a few times a week [virtuous]

Re movements with DD I was 20 weeks before I even felt a slight flutter/spasm type feeling but was much earlier this time.

HollyFP · 23/02/2010 16:09

Hi all, I am waiting to feel the first kick! At the moment i can feel flutterings but whenever i put my hand on my tummy to feel them properly they stop!!
Have put on about 6-71bs so far, 18 weeks in.

Anyone else have a ridiculously itchy tummy?! Especially at night, it drives me (and husband) crazy.

JBroRo · 23/02/2010 16:44

Hiya,

Re movements, Im 22 wks on Thurs and am feeling definite kicks and movements now! It's lovely. Some of them feel like little pulses in different parts of my tummy but I had a really big kick on Sunday which actually made me jump! I also quite often get a rippling type feeling throughout my tummy.

I'm also starting to feel different shaped lumps and bumps in my tummy too - DH has convinced himself that he can identify all these e.g. "Im sure thats a leg" etc. but I think he's exaggerating un peu!

lifeistooshort · 23/02/2010 20:22

hi hi hi LITS secretly laughs at Tobago (in the nicest possible way) for thinking aquanatal is relaxing and eagerly awaiting feedback.

Holly if the itching carries on maybe you should talk to your midwive as I think there is a condition obstetric coliatis or something of which itching is a symptom. I don't want to worry you and it is probably nothing more than a combination of growing bump and dry skin, but you may want to keep that in mind?

Nothing to report here but waving hello to all

Thanks Emsie

tobago04 · 24/02/2010 08:44

Morning all,
Well it wasn't too bad lits ,no really it was quite nice, the midwife was lovely and didn't push us too hard,it was just nice to have some 'me' time away from the kids ,would definitely recommend it
It was lovely last night, felt the the baby kick with my hand, told DH and he came and had a feel and felt it too,it's so exciting even tough it's my 3rd!
I've found lying on my back really still seems to make him/her wake up and move,
hope everyone else is ok

tobago04 · 24/02/2010 08:45

Though!

Twittle · 24/02/2010 12:19

Emsie if you manage to find a good DVD please let me know as I have decided I may have to knock the swimming on the head as not doing my ever worsening eczema any good so a yoga DVD or something similar could be the way to go - can't seem to find any classes in my area for yoga or pilates when expecting!

Tobago wow you can feel kicks with your hand that is incredible, hope I notice when it does first happen, will try lying down on my back when I get home - not sure they will appreciate me stretching out on the floor while at work!!!

Really looking forward to my 20 week scan which is in 2 weeks, seems like ages since the last one! Has anyone found that they need the toilet more as time goes on rather than less??? I thought it was supposed to work the other way round??

GibbonInARibbon · 25/02/2010 10:48

Hello all, nothing to report apart from my still eating copious amounts of chocolate but hoping you are all well.

mrscrocoduck · 26/02/2010 14:44

Hello!

Again, to echo everyone else, really pleased for you Gibbon!

I'm getting a fair bit of noticeable movement/fluttering too now which is reassuring and nice!! Time to start believing I'm actually pregnant!

Twittle I know everyone's different in terms of how they cope with weight gain and how much they put on in pregnancy, but just wanted to reassure you that it won't be a terrible problem if you do put on more than 1.5 st. I think that the average is about 2st. I put on 4 st with my first!!!!!! And 2 years later only had the last stone to lose. The rest was easy enough to get rid off once your 'normal' life resumes! You lose about a stone on the day of delivery too, but it understandably takes a while for your uterus to shrink back so you will look a bit preggers for a bit afterwards. Again, not a problem. So just try not to feel bad about it. Relax and enjoy! Incidentally, I HAVE needed the toilet a lot more recently! Infuriating! Especially when walking.

I had a scary week last week, suddenly feeling nauseous and vomiting. Then had some bleeding (NOT fun at 17wks). M/wife checked baby who seems fine, thankfully. She thinks I've just had a nasty virus (2nd in 3 weeks) which irritated my uterus and led to the bleeding. Needless to say, looking forward to 20 wk scan in just over a week. ALTHOUGH bit concerned too about the large cyst in my ovary. Hoping it's disappeared.....

Am eating for Britain. Have put on 16lbs so far (18 wks). Oh well!!!

JBroRo · 26/02/2010 15:46

Hiya,

Just wanted to mention that Ive bought the Davina McCall pre and post natal exercise DVD. I quite like it - I find her quite down to earth and normal so it doesn't irritate me while watching/doing it. Ive only attempted it a couple of times but better than nothing, hey?

HollyFP · 01/03/2010 13:58

Hi All - I felt the baby kick at the weekend while lying in the bath - soooo exciting! It hasn't stopped in there since definitely feels good to feel it every day. I have my 21 week scan in 2 weeks, so looking forward to seeing it up on screen again.

All going well, what a relief

GibbonInARibbon · 01/03/2010 18:12

I can't stop eating either

Yay for everyone feeling kicks and doing exercise!

tobago04 · 02/03/2010 13:37

Hi everyone,
Hope your ok Mrscro after your scare
How nice everyones feeling their little one!
Not much to report, got my scan next week, can't wait!
Regarding weight i weighed myself today and i've put on about 6lbs[18wks],think i put on about 2st when i was full term with my last two,
anyway hope everyone is ok

GibbonInARibbon · 02/03/2010 19:26

6 lbs tobago

I shall flounce if you carry on like that.

Have some chips woman fgs.

tobago04 · 02/03/2010 20:27

I have been eating lots of chocolate this week so i doubt it will stay that way gibbon lol
I did lose a bit of weight before i found out i was pregnant due to a few family issues as well so that's probably got something to do with it,and if they re cone this one is going to be bigger than dd2 i will definitely put lots more on

Twittle · 04/03/2010 10:16

Hello everyone hope you're all well?!

Mrscrocoduck I hope that you are on the mend, what a scare, hope things have settled back down again now. Thank you for the tips on the weight gain... I have just been away for a few days with some girlfriends and although we did quite a bit of walking (fab weather) we also did far too much eating, I am going to have to learn to just accept the ever expanding waistline as is my husband (I think that his is expanding in sympathy too)!!!

JBroRo glad Davina is proving a success!

Have my 20 week scan next Tues can't wait and nervous all in one but mostly excited! Halfway there seems to be a real milestone!

Aussieng · 05/03/2010 16:47

Hi everyone - sorry not to have made it on here for a while. Gibbon I'm glad everything worked out - you must be relieved - that was a long wait you had!

I just passed 20 weeks - can't believe we are over half way there. Anomaly scan is next Tuesday and I'm looking forward to finding out the sex so I can properly start buying some baby stuff!

I still haven't put any weight (still at 9lb loss overall) but all my clothes are too tight over my little bump so hopefully the food is going where it is needed. One of the PA's at work said to me earlier this week that you can just about see that I am pg (provided you already know that I am pg that is; otherwise apparently I would just look like my post Xmas diet had not worked very well). [sucking lemons emoticon]

Have a great weekend everyone.

ApuskiDusky · 08/03/2010 17:06

Hi all, hope everyone is doing OK. I must remember that I am further on than most, therefore it is entirely reasonable for me to now be enormous whilst some of you are talking about little bumps! At least I've finally got round to buying some cocoa butter in some sort of attempt to avoid stretch marks.

I've decided to finish work early at 32 weeks, and have lots of time with ds before this baby arrives. It also means it will be easier to avoid travel - I'm supposed to be flying to meetings every other week at the moment, and both airline and work insurance policies say this is OK until 36 weeks! Insane! So I've told work I'm not flying after 29 weeks, and that's that.

JBroRo · 08/03/2010 21:13

Hi all,

I'm finishing work at 38 wks. I'm now wondering if anyone thinks this is ridiculously late? This is my first baby so have no idea how I'll feel at that point. x

lifeistooshort · 08/03/2010 21:33

Hi everyone. I had my 20 weeks scan and was reassured to see that the baby was happy and healthy and didn't seem to have grown a third arm due to all the drugs I had to take because of my pneumonia.

We also found out it is a boy (I thought it was). DD was a little disappointed as she really wanted a sister but bless her she quickly recovered!

Everything is ok apart from that

Jbro re work, no one can tell you as you will feel by then. You might be full of beans or completely knackered. I guess it is best to play it by hear.

I would like to try and work as late as possible this time, but considering I had DS at 37/38 weeks, it might be sensible for me not to aim for 38 weeks!

Hope you are all well
