Hi there

I have been on the July thread, but it moves so fast and as I don't have time (or energy being so sleepy), I can't keep up with everyone who is on several times a day! If anyone else wants to join me in a slower thread to share how your pregnancy is developing, feel free!

Hi, another one joining if that's OK! I'm just not really keeping up with the main July thread. I'm 26 wks today, have a dd who is 2 and am having another girl - due 15th July but could be earlier if I have an el c/s (dd was em c/s and I am classed "high risk" due to having high blood pressure, so may go for an elective - still to be 100% decided). Originally from Manchester, now live in New Zealand.

Pg going fine except I am getting killer indigestion now, luckily have huge bottle of prescription tablets left from first pg. Quite enjoying the pg really now as it may be my last (will be aged 39 at the birth).

I must admit skihorse, I never tire of the kicking.... What does really p*ss me off though is the hiccups - it's bad enough having them yourself, without dealing with someone elses as well!

I know it means they're practicing breathing and is good, but Sweet Mother of God - sometimes you just need a break!

tobago04 · 08/04/2010 08:42

Hi all,hello to the newbies

GibbonInARibbon · 08/04/2010 08:52

Sorry not been on all, been a tough few weeks. My Dad has been diagnosed with cancer they hope to have caught it early so please God he will beat it.

Pregnancy is going well, still tired but def beeen better in last 2 weeks. Tbh with everything going on it's easy to forget I'm pregant at times, how awful does that sound

Hope you are all well.

WhatSheSaid · 08/04/2010 09:10

C4ro · 08/04/2010 21:02

Hi All.
I'm new to this thread but also due for #1 on 29 July. According to the 20-week scan it will be a girl.

skihorse · 09/04/2010 06:19

gibbon I'm sorry to hear about your dad.

Welcome C4ro - you're due 1 week after me and I'm expecting my first here in NL too (a boy).

My pregnancy has been going pretty well the last few weeks if you can discount waking up at 3am & still puking. Baby seems to be good and healthy though. I'm off to the coast for a few days for a bit of R&R and want to go swimming YAAY! Will be taking my maternity tankini out for a whirl.

GibbonInARibbon · 09/04/2010 10:07

Thank you Mel and ski, welcome C4ro

Sorry to hear you are still being sick ski

And hello Random - sorry missed you joining us

C4ro · 09/04/2010 14:40

skihorse, are you really still getting some sickness this far on? that really sucks. Enjoy the trip away- are you heading to the Dutch coast/ North sea? Lords, you must be part seal if you're prepared to swim there in April in less than a fullbody 8mm wetsuit.

This weekend nice weather will be much appreciated here too though as OH older brother and 3 small nieces (3,5,7 years) are coming for 2 nights this weekend. They are pleased we are having a girl "so they can play with it"

Good weekend to you all

ApuskiDusky · 09/04/2010 14:54

Gibbon, so sorry to hear about your dad, I was wondering if you were around as I hadn't spotted you lately. It's good to hear they have diagnosed it early, wishing you & your family all the very best.

GibbonInARibbon · 10/04/2010 09:01

Thank you Apuski x

tobago04 · 11/04/2010 08:35

Can't believe your still being sick Ski,enjoy your time away,
Welcome C4ro,
nothing much to report really just got loads of spots! Had really clear skin when i was pregnant with dds so maybe it's a boy
Hope everyone else is ok and enjoying the sunshine

skihorse · 13/04/2010 08:20

hello everyone, Yes, I really am still being sick. I had a lovely weekend away and didn't swim in the North Sea as it was bloody freezing, in fact I didn't even make it to the pool because I was so knackered. I did however go on one of the rides and hung upside down screaming having a whale of a time. I'm being punished with a very swollen throat & glands now - have just phoned in sick to work and the dumb receptionist said "you can't diagnose yourself you know" . Twat. I think I know whether I've got a sore throat or not!

Julian has spent the last 36 hours going absolutely bonkers and tbh I find it really tiring. My book says "try and feel them moving 10 times a day" (over 2 sessions). He is on the go constantly and my stomach looks like aliens are about to burst out at any moment. Obviously I love feeling him and clearly he's got bags of energy but it's draining... and I'm moaning.

I'm off to the midwife again in an hour - check-ups are now down to 3 weekly.

skihorse · 13/04/2010 08:21

Btw, the baby's name isn't really Julian - it's our joke name for the baby - the most awful name we could think of to name our son. I apologise to all of you who married or gave birth to a Julian.

Twittle · 13/04/2010 10:53

Morning - if this is the start of our indian summer - it could be a long one by the time July comes around..... having a large bump in the sun isn't quite so appealing as I thought it may have been earlier in the year!

Gibbon I am so sorry to hear about your father, I hope that the treatment is going well so far.

SkiH I have just stopped giggling at your last post so have you actually decided on a name then if Julian is not to be?!

I haven't really got too much report, had too hectic a weekend helping DH and gardening and think my tummy is paying for it now..... have been feeling quite a few kicks although went a little quiet last night - maybe tired from the exertions as well! Off to see Midwife again tomorrow for routine check up so hopefully all is well! Can't believe how time is ticking on now... starting to believe that yes at the end of July we will be parents!!!!!

Twittle · 13/04/2010 14:02

Oops I meant to also say C4ro I am due the day before you on the 28th! It'll be interesting to see how close to or far away as the case may be to our dates we all end up!!!! I reckon by the time July gets here I won't mind being 2 weeks early especially after the way I feel after a 3 mile walk in today's sun and I'm only 25 weeks now!!!

skihorse · 13/04/2010 17:03

twittle I hear ya! Given the fact that my little boy is currently "big" any time after 37 weeks is hunky-dory by me! I need to wait until 37 weeks for a homebirth but 37 weeks and 6 hours would be fine.

skihorse · 13/04/2010 17:03

PS Yes, we do have a first name & middle name ready - and noooo... neither of them make him sound like a fey librarian!

pipinmybelly · 13/04/2010 19:12

looking forward to sharing the best part of the journey with u all xxx

HollyFP · 14/04/2010 11:28

Hello everyone, welcome pip

Just had my 25 week appointment with the midwife - apparently my baby is exactly on the 'average' size line! I was convinced I'd be having a huge baby (since my DH and all his family are pretty big build!).

It was lovely to hear the heartbeat again, i've been trying to hear it at home with a stethoscope but it's impossible.

also got my 'fit to fly' letter from the midwife, since we're going on our final holiday (for a while!) in 10 days - can't wait!

baby is going mental all the time now, especially right when i'm about to sleep . love it though, and will probably miss it once it's born!

hope people are having a good week

JBroRo · 14/04/2010 15:32

Hello everyone

I just had a 29wk check with midwife (can't believe I'm going to be 30 wks next week, seems like a massive milestone ).

This time she took 2 more lots of blood (to check that blood group hasn't changed? and to check iron levels). As Holly says, it was lovely to hear the heartbeat again. She also told me the position of the baby - head is down at the moment and it's back is on my left side. She also measured my bump and the fundal height is 29cm which apparently is spot on. I must admit that I'm a bit dubious as to how accurate these measurements are?! BP and urine are all fine too so seems like things are progressing nicely. Going again at 32 wks.

I really feel like Im starting to count down now but am know that Im being a bit premature.

Loads of movements now which I love and starting to spot a pattern each day. On the down side Im starting to get heartburn at night which is rather unpleasant!

Hope you're all well x

ApuskiDusky · 14/04/2010 21:57

Hi all

I'm lying in bed feeling sorry for myself, just got back from my final overseas work trip and had a grim flight back - funny cabin pressure changes so I felt dizzy and sick and the baby was going a bit mad with movement. And I've had to do too much walking so I now have bad pelvic pain. I'm seeing the physio on Friday to see if she can help with pelvic pain, the start of SPD I think. But only 3.5 weeks left of work! Can't wait.

Will be cheerier next post, promise!

skihorse · 15/04/2010 05:12

apuski A girl on another thread who is due the same week as me swears blind by walking around on her hands & knees for 5 minutes. I think we lost our dignity some time ago with this pregnancy lark so it might be worth a try! I'm sorry you're feeling shit though.
