Did I say that ski? I meant to... or is someone else giving away all my secrets?
It's an Alexander Technique thing which I am an EXPERT in having done 8 weeks of a 10 week introductory course. Ask me anything, I know it all .
So, carefully get down on all fours. Keep your head square to your neck, gently go down onto one knee then lean forward onto your hands and onto the other knee. Make sure you have plenty of space in front of you because you want to look straight down to the floor, not where you're going, to avoid having to lift your head which will strain the neck.
Move your left knee forward 5 inches or so, then your left hand - set it down slowly and slowly put the weight on. Then move your right knee forward followed by your right hand. Don't go too far and keep it really slow. The more movement you do the better - so it's not about getting across the room, it's about how many steps it takes to get there. So, left leg, left hand, right leg, right hand, not crossing over in a diagonal. You should feel a gentle rotation and opening of your lower back, and relief on your pelvis and back.
When you get to the end of the room, don't try to crawl around the corner as it will bend your back, just turn on the spot keeping your body straight.
This is great for good foetal positioning and taking weight off the pelvis, and loosening the lower back where I get a lot of problems. Do it as much as possible, or as much as feels comfortable.
Also sitting on a preggo ball feels fab on a problem pelvis (I watch telly on mine). I alternate between sitting on it and leaning over it. It really helps.
