HeffaMerryChristmas · 20/12/2009 12:17

Alexw - so sorry to hear about dad I hope you have a lovely Christmas with him.

ML - v.impressive bump! I can't wear normal clothes anymore but my maternity clothes are all summer wear so I need to go shopping after Christmas.

memorylapse · 20/12/2009 12:17

forces..if its any consolation..I was left with a horrible apron of skin due to previous pregnancies but it is tucked into my knickers!

I was nearly 15 stone when I fell pregnant..but due to hyperemesis induced weightloss..I currently weigh 14st 3..so Im actually heavier than you.

I used to be slim but illness after I had dd2 meant I piled on the weight..and never managed to lose it again due to the medication I was on and underactive thyroid

ForcesSweetheart · 20/12/2009 13:19

wow ml you don't look anywhere near that weight. How tall are you? If I get brave I'll post a candid pic of my bump sometime!

AnAngelWithin · 20/12/2009 14:45

wow ml, thats a fair bump. Mine seems to be more promounced some days. Its barely even there today

Hollyoaks · 20/12/2009 15:38

Alex - sorry to hear the news about your dad, hope you create some happy memories over christmas with him.

Angel - my bump is still fairly small but definately more pronounced by evening. I think it looks more like a pg belly rather than a pot belly now but still depends on what clothes I wear. Kids at school are non the wiser though some didn't guess when I was due to go on my maternity leave last time. Very observant!

Hope your all enjoying the snow and having a relaxing weekend.

memorylapse · 20/12/2009 16:08

Forces...Im 5ft 1

Im feeling crap today..got a cold which seems to have gone straight to my sinuses, feels like my nose has been cracked by a baseball bat

Den26 · 20/12/2009 18:44

ML - again, your bump is impressive!! Hope your cold eases soon, its so painful when sinuses are blocked.

Angel - i'm like you, Bump there some days and gone the next!!!

Alex - so sorry to hear your news

I'm feeling LO more and more, lyinging on my back with hands just below belly and could swear i felt it from the outside - only 17+5 today - is that normal?

Well chuffed Snow finally reached the scottish highlands yesterday - everything looks wonderful and christmassy - hope it doesn't get worse or i'l not get home to family for christmas!!

pigleychez · 20/12/2009 19:14

Thanks for all the comments and advice. DH is looking into it all now before he speaks to them again tomorrow.
So annoying as its a fab fireplace that is going to look really nice when its finally finished!

Love the bump pic ML

Alex- Sorry to hear about your dad. Wishing you all a lovely family xmas together.

Heffa- Im having the same problem this time. All my maternity stuff seems to be spring/summer stuff. Plenty of jeans which is good but all the tops seem to short sleeved. Im wearing some of my normal jumpers at the mo but they really are getting rather tight! I dont really want to buy too many maternity jumpers though.

Den- my DH felt movement this morning too Felt wriggling and a little kick. Im 18+5.

Well our snow is still hanging around. Even though the suns been shining it hasnt reached above freezing so nothings been melted. Had another dusting last night but nothing significant. My car hasnt moved off the drive since thursday!

pamelat · 20/12/2009 20:01

Alex, sorry about your dad I wish you as happy time as possible left with him.

ML, trying to view your bump but the internet dongle is yet again letting me down.

My tummy seems huge as am fairly small. DH has just taken a photo of it so will upload soon. He thinks I am a bit odd to want to post my tummy on the www ! Oh well.

Am tucking in to a pre christmas (was meant to be a gift) terrys chocolate orange, can recommend it

HeffaMerryChristmas · 20/12/2009 21:02

Pigley - still jealous of your snow! We're getting some here but it isn't really settling. Good luck sorting out the fireplace tomorrow.

Den26 - my DH felt movement as well the other night. It felt like LO was doing somersaults! It's very active at bedtime so that bodes well for me! I didn't realise you were in the Highlands, I'm very . I love the Scottish Highlands

Pamelat - mmm, I really want a chocolate orange now! I keep craving stuffing too, not sure why.

mollybob · 20/12/2009 21:04

Hi all - sorry haven't been around much - v busy at work last week and sooooo tired. Still fairly sick but a little better past few days. No sign of a bloom and still can't eat chocolate.

Alex, so very sorry - hope xmas is peaceful for you all

Have just regained my pre-pregnancy weight - lost about a stone with hyperemesis. Can't get into normal clothes with developing bump but maternity stuff still too big. I probably should have got stuff a size smaller than normal because of the vomiting weight loss.

Feeling a bit xmas stressed - done some organising today and need to look at the santa stuff and start organising it and no way could I cope with a late xmas eve this year!

alexw · 20/12/2009 22:24

Thank you all for kind messages. Will be going up to Scotland on Tuesday to see him. Before that I have 20 week scan tomorrow for which I am very excited.

sweetkitty · 20/12/2009 22:40

Evening ladies been reading trying to keep up but never get 5 mins to post, then I ave been missed off the list and I am a founding member taken me about 20 mins to catch up so forgive me if I miss anyone off.

Not much happening here, snow started to get heavy yesterday afternoon so we had a quiet day at home today, only another 2 days of school/nursery and DP is off so easy times for me. No4 is moving a lot more now , must get scan booked in as am 20+4 today, going to get it confirmed it's another girl, even DD1 talks about her 3 wee sisters now.

Name wise we are about 90% decided, DD1 wants Lola, DD2 Dora!

memorylapse - that's one good looking bump and congrats on a girl! She's a wee fighter already for sure.

pigley - nightmare about your fireplace, my DP hates DIY with a passion but has promised me that he is going to redo the floor in the little downstairs toilet this week, we shall see, we deliberately bought a newish house to limit the need for DIY. DD3 was so funny today in the snow, falling in it then going "oh no" and looking at her hands.

Size wise - I think I am going to have to admit defeat and pack the size 8 jeans away, heaven at the moment is when I get home, take off my jeans and get into my joggers ahhh comfort. I would say my bump is developing like no2 and 3, high and out front, people are always saying "oh you are SO neat, are your really 20 weeks" I can't help which type and size of bump I get, I think they think I am not eating enough or something.

Forcessweetheart - yey another girl for you too, DD1 will be chuffed, when's her 4th birthday I think it is before DD2's as she was right at the end of January and everyone else had their babies and moved across to the postnatal thread and I was one of the last on there propping the thread up, I think you look amazing as well!

Pramwise - think we are getting a P&T Vibe but as I change my mind every 5 mins and this will be pram no10 for me could be something different

Fiveisanawfullybignumber - the penny has just dropped as to who you are , a RL friend who I have known oh about 10 year plus, think Scottish friend, 3 girls and you are there, better watch what I say on here now am totally pmsl

alexw - so sorry to hear your news, life eh sucks sometimes

Right I am going to readd myself to the list, official due date is the 5th my second scan, mine is the 8th. First one was 15 days early, no2 12 long days late, no3 5 days late so going for a late one again.

Hello again all, just adding myself to the list and starting my new years resolution of keeping up with you all better!
20 wk scan not until Jan 8 here, and can't find out what colour we're getting as it costs here.
Very impressed by MLs bump - I'm hardly showing still, normal jeans sz 16 not 14 now and only feeling the occasional gentle movement - nothing noticeable from outside.

So sorry to hear about your dad Alex, I hope you have a lovely Christmas together. Have they given you a time frame?
Good luck sorting out your fireplace pigley, not jealous of DIY - one of the advantages of having to live in rented accommodation!

Please don't be offended if I haven't replied to anyone, I have been reading this thread for ages but baby brain is really limiting what I take in atm

Hollyoaks · 21/12/2009 10:32

Morning all.

17 weeks today and feeling yucky this morning despite forcing down toast . Got a toddler group xmas lunch to look forward too as well which I'm really not in the mood for. Hopefully dd will enjoy it, though she's full of cold and has a nasty chesty cough.

Firstone - congrats on a girl, lots of pink on this thread.

My chinese gender prediction says this one is a boy, it was right with dd but only time will tell.

Angel - hopefully you'll go early this time, I'm hoping too as I know I'll be getting very impatient when you lot start popping yours out early May and I'm stuck at the end, really not wanting to go into June. DD was due 31st January so was at the end of that list too, thankfully she came early but only two days!

hormonalmum · 21/12/2009 13:37

hello, gosh I must learn to look at this thread more often, it has come on quite a bit since I first posted!

Thanks for the welcomes, you are a friendly bunch!

I have booked a days holiday today from work in the hope of doing my last minute christmas things but dd is ill and we are snowed in anyway.
I was at the hopsital on Saturday night with dd, she had a high temp which we couldn't get down. I had rung NHS direct and they told me to take her to the hospital.

The GP we saw suspected swine flu. I think she had it earlier this year so now they are not sure what is wrong with her. They have not prescribed tamiflu as she already had that and they do not want to give it again (and neither did I as she had awful side affects)

When I told the GP I was pregnant, he told me I should have had my swine flu injection. I have requested the celvapan one and not heard anything back yet depsite numerous calls which is rather annoying.
Having spent so much time looking into them and finally deciding I would have it, I made my decision about the celvapan and still not had it.

I will ring again today!

Hope everyone is ready for christmas.

HeffaMerryChristmas · 21/12/2009 15:20

First1 - congratulations on your little girl Lots of girls around here!

Hollyoaks - hope your DD feels better soon.

Hormonalmum - this thread's moving really fast! Hope your DD is OK - how's she feeling now?

ForcesSweetheart · 21/12/2009 17:37

first congrats, another girl! I wonder why so many of us are having girls?

sk Lola's Jan 12th, and already talking about her birthday non-stop (what kind of cake she wants, who she wants to come to her house, etc). She's chuffed to bits it's a girl but I don't know if the reality that she suddenly won't be centre of the universe has really sunk in. We've had a few nights this past week where she's woken around midnight and screamed for me and clung to me like a limpet for ages which may be a sign the reality is starting to dawn on her.

I'm loaded with the cold. Really bad timing as we're driving up to Glasgow tomorrow (well driving to Lanashire spending the night with a mate there then driving the rest of the way Weds). I could really see it far enough, feel rotten. Haven't even started to pack yet and we're planning to be off in the morning! Thankfully my mum took all the pressies up with her when she was down for a visit last week so I've only clothes etc to worry about.

hollyoaks I'm pretty certain I'll be having my CS early - around the 20th April coz of my diabetes so looking forward to being able to sit back through May and watch you all pop!

Vicky204 · 21/12/2009 18:47

Hiya

Can you add me - Vicky204 I'm 34 it's my first, sorry I don't know how to add myself to the list (if I can)

I'm due my second scan on 7th Jan but we're not going to find out the sex figured the surprise will be nice after labour and all the joy that brings!!

I'm also still waiting for my first kick at 19+1 .

Carried some heavy bags today and getting slight twinges but hoping they're just growing pains and I'm being paranoid!

HeffaMerryChristmas · 21/12/2009 19:15

Welcome to the thread Vicky . Don't worry about not feeling kicking yet, it's quite normal I think. You can always call your MW if you are concerned. I've added you to the list, guessing your due date as the 16th May? I've got bad pregnancy brain and not very good with dates though so if that's wrong than just copy and paste the list and change it.

ForcesSweetheart - sorry you're feeling rubbish, hope your drive isn't too bad. Your DD sounds very sweet, it's great having a birthday just after Christmas (mine's 11th) - something to look forward to!

TomlinTowers · 21/12/2009 19:20

Hi All

Forces - there does seem to be a lot of pink on the thread! When I had DS1, I was the only one on my NHS antenatal class to have a boy out of 7 women, and there were three boys including DS1 in my NCT class, again out of 7 women. The way I see it, they will all be after DS1 in 16 25 years time!

I have to say I am not envious of those travelling in this weather. I hope you all get there safely!

First day off work today and I discovered the radiator in the nursery has been leaking since March when we supposedly had our heating system drained down. It has been such a slow leak that it has managed to saturate the carpet and the floorboards before starting to drip through the light fitting of the downstairs room this morning. Plumber comes on Wednesday, and fortunately my Dad was able to come over and pull up the carpet for me and switch off the radiator so I can have my heating and electrics back on thank goodness. Why do these things always happen just before a big family event when you need the house to look at bomb hasn't gone off, just for once?! Gah!

Never mind - scan on Wednesday, just hoping everything is OK and they can tell us whether the bump is pink or blue!! Was feeling lots of movement but it's died off a bit in the last couple of days, hope it's just that the bubs has moved to the back for a bit of a rest.
