Took the liberty of adding Vicky and myself as Forces & Memory were on ther, hope that's ok. If I've missed anyone appologies.

Had my 20wk scan on tues - everything was fabulous and was totally amazed at the size difference between now and my last scan at 13wks
Have to have another scan in a few weeks as Squirt felt the need to be ignorent and had back to us the entire scan, dispite some serious tummy wobbling from the sonographer - have to say lovely spine tho!!
Only thing that couldn't be seen was the whole heart, heard heartbeat so know everything is ok and sonographer wasn't concerned.
Hope everyone is ok and enjoying having bump this Xmas and getting treated like a princess

Hi folks, welcome to the newbies.

All's well here, getting completely overexcited at the thought of finding out whether it's a boy or a girl in 12 days time! I so hope it won't have its legs crossed or anything, we're desperate to know!

Had a shitty appointment with a new consultant I hadn't met last time. He completely disregarded everything I said and kept asking me the same questions over and over as he wasn't listening to the answers. Not very impressed with him, so I've said to the midwife I'll give him one more chance and if he's still a knob then I want another consultant. Some of them act so bloody high and mighty, I think they're paid too much or something, makes them think they can forego any kind of bedside manner or general manners just because they know the technical stuff.

Mollybob I'm the same, in good health just overweight, last pregnancy and labour went fine, normal sized baby etc. It's such a shame they can't give you the benefit of the doubt and let you be under midwife led care, especially when you have shown that you can do it before, and all the results of all the tests keep coming back clear.

Hello all

Just been to a lovely little party for a few hours on the new development where we have just moved, nice to get to know the neighbours. Only 15 houses and about 6 are occupied so it was very nice, about the first party I have enjoyed a non drinker

Saw midwife today as they called me in a flap about some blood tests that they had not taken that they should have done. Apparently it was the HIV etc tests, not expecting those to be a problem. However, that was also good as DH came with me and we heard the baby's heart beat for the first time

Still convinced its a boy. At this party there was a week old baby, very cute baby boy.

Got all my christmas shopping done today so now feel ready to relax ..... as much as you can relax with an almost 2 year old!!

just back from my private scan..she did say, you do realise that this isnt an anatomy scan..I replied in the affirmative..she said however I would tell you if I saw anything obviously wrong..straight away she looked and said..its a girl...and pointed out the 3 white lines..she did some other measurements and said they corresponded with between 19-20 weeks and again reminded me that she wasnt checking anatomy..but what she had seen looked fine...Phined dd1 up who squaled with excitement down the phone..shes 18

obviously I cant really relax until ive had the 21 week scan..which im kind of dreading tbh

Welcome to even more newbies, August/September must have been a boring month for most people

Names - love all the names chosen or possibiles given so far, though have to pick Holly as my favourite (for obvious reasons).

Snow - we have snow in Northumberland and the forcast looks white for the rest of the weekend. Looking forward to building a snowman tomorrow with dd.

Anyone on #2 or more finding their pelvic ligaments very achey compared to the first pg? I find if I move the wrong way or too quickly they really hurt.

Not sure how to add myself to the new list (sorry to have been away for a while) but I'm due 13 May if anyone can add me on. Is first baby and I'm 29.

Finished work today for the holidays thank goodness. Been a busy last few weeks and really need the break. Also need to get sorted for NYC!

I think I might have felt some movement last night but it's hard to tell with a first baby. 20 week scan next week and really hoping that we can find out the sex.

Looking really pregnant these days and weight gain up to 6lbs. Am taking my maternity notes in my handbag to the airport in case they don't believe I'm only 20 weeks!

Cith most airlines don't insist on a Medical Cert until you're 28 weeks but like you say how will they even know if you're not showing much?!

Evening All, just adding myself to the new list. I finished work for Christmas leave yesterday and am so ready for the rest. Our boss is very demanding and I don't think I was the only one breathing a sigh of relief!

Cith - I wasn't asked whether I was pregnant whenever I flew during my last pregnancy so don't worry too much. As long as you can show them that you are only 20 and a bit weeks pregnant you'll be fine. People are quite poor at spotting pregnancy I think, DH and I were moved into the emergency exit with lots of leg room when I was 29 weeks, a big no-no apparently. Oh, and nobody offered me a seat on the tube when I was 39+3. Have a great trip .

Heffa, mummymunchkins, Fiveisanawfullybignumber, thanks for the pushchair advice. I see lots of the Bees around, but the single small wheels looked really fragile to me, esp when you consider the difference in price with maclaren. I've been reading the thread about them in the pushchair section though and the owners do seem to like them mostly, so I might rethink. Still got plenty of time to mull it over. DH keeps asking if we need a pushchair at all !! I'm quite tempted to just buy a good sling for the first few months, or at least till we see how big a baby he turns out to be. Seems like that makes a big difference. ..

Just changing my age as I turned the big 3 0 a couple of weeks ago

My 20 week scan went really well yesterday, baby is definitely a girl and she has long legs and a small head weirdly exactly what they said about dd2!

Still not feeling loads of movement just squirming and the odd kick, I wish the proper kicks would hurry up.

Oh and names, I think we have decided that this one will be Ava Rose

It was like an epiphany I was struggling thinking of the perfect name and I remembered Ava from my last pregnancy and told DH the baby MUST be called Ava, luckily he quite likes it!

Schipo, bugaboo's are incredibly well made. I personally think the cameleons are a bit over priced, but the design of the bee is fantastic. Wheels are much sturdier than they look.
Benefits over Maclaren is you can have baby facing you in a compact buggy, something I feel very passionate about. DD2 would cry and fuss every time we turned her forward facing to see the world, she wasn't happy to go forwards till 15 months. Now she loves it, but it's good to have the choice, especially in busy London, or else all baby will see is hoards of tall things (people) coming straight at her.
Try to get a demo of the Bee from a local retailer.

Wow, that list just keeps growing I think you were right Hollyoaks about August/September being borning months! I have heard that because of the recession we are going to have a baby boom - guess only history will tell

I haven't thought about pushchairs at all - one of my sisters is giving me hers - been good to read everyone's thoughts though - thank you.
