Hello all, sorry I haven't been on in aaages, that whole 'life' thing has been getting in the way somewhat
Really really sorry to hear that yet more people have left us

Thought I'd re-add the list as I've had a birthday in the gap and a slight change of due date - oh, and the 20-week scan - was going to find out what it is but they didn't ask unusually!! So we are stuck with a surprise. Oh and I seem to have dropped off the list anyway!!

memorylapse · 08/01/2010 19:10

just uploaded my 23 week scan pic from today onto the fb page..slightly blurry as photographed it with my camera..

kateyjane · 08/01/2010 21:36

Lovely pictures pigleychez and memorylapse Glad things went well.
I don't think Tescos was as bad as sainsburys sounded pigley, having said that they were running low on essentials, but better than the local shops! People on local news were panic buying things like 21 loaves of bread and 18 pints of milk You'd have to have a pretty big freezer!
NewMomma it sounds like your DS still had a fab birthday, despite the lack of visitors. Just means that he will have more to look forward to over the next few days. I always like it when birthdays spread out
I hope all those with boiler trouble are managing to keep warm.
Enjoy the weekend - I think it will be more snowman making

sweetkitty · 08/01/2010 21:46

hi all not much to report here baby going mad tonight, must be the Mingles scan still doubtful so even if we get the car back in time to go, there was horrendous fog today and more expected tomorrow on the motorway (M8) and the train are still up the spout, guess I am just destined not to have a scan tomorrow

pigley - was wondering how you will get on, someone told me that sonographers will sometimes say she for everything or he saves them saying "it" all the time. Another DD would be fab though, DD would love a wee sister.

ML - glad your scan went well, now that 24 weeks is approaching you can being to relax a bit, well after the move!

Vicky - good news about your second scan too

Poor everyone who has a knackered boiler, it's so cold as well I keep expecting our heating to pack up it's been on that much.

I have so got cabin fever as well, bored bored bored of the snow and ice now.

pigleychez · 08/01/2010 22:22

SK- I did think that but she only said it once at the end after saying Baby when showing me body parts on the screen the rest of the time. Oh well, Dont mind either way.
Hope you manage to make it to your scan tomorrow!

memorylapse · 08/01/2010 23:19

welcome back minniemummy.

I am working tomorrow and I wish I wasnt..I feel knackered..

SK..no Ill relax when bump is delivered..safe and healthy!

DH popped into the supermarket and said it was chaos..people panic buying milk and bread etc

Sweetpeasmum · 08/01/2010 23:25

Katyjane - if the weather stays like this there'll be no need for freezers, they can stash the food outside!

sweetkitty · 09/01/2010 08:41

Temp thing was saying -12 outside last night, DP has gone to take one car to the garage.

ML - I know what you mean until they are out you don't stop worrying, then when they are a whole new set of worries befalls you I do feel a lot better now that this LO is moving around a lot but then they do that thing where they hide for a day to get you all worried, the little blighters, already worrying you and they are not even born. How many women have got really worried over lack of movement then go to the MW and the LO started whacking them?

pigley - see you must be a lot more patient than me, I would be away booking a gender scan, with DD2 at the end of the scan I asked the sex and the sonographer (who was a witch) said "well IT might be female" of course this got me all annoyed and DP ended up paying for a 4D scan (probably as he was fed up of me moaning). I am SO certain this one is DD4 I just need it confirmed so it's 100% and I can start planning for her arrival. And stop everyone else going "oh well you may get a surprise and get a boy" I really cannot see me being the Mum of a boy I don't know why? In my head she is a she, we are pretty certain of her first name and I say her and she all the time.

AnAngelWithin · 09/01/2010 08:47

morning all how are you? Seems a litle warmer here this morning.

I had a right hormonal meltdown at the kids last night and ended up storming up to bed to cry for half an hour, came back down and the kids had all done the dishes for me bless them. Felt even worse then lol.

Pigley I'm a bit like that. I was dying to book a gender scan with my last 3, but this time i'm not really that bothered, though any baby stuff like car seat, that I have still got is pink I thought I was having a girl, at my 20 week scan though I am convinced I saw little boys bits.

Been good this morning, eating branflakes and bananas for breakfast. Think I need to start eating better, probably not helped with the tiredness.

ML glad all went ok at scan.

SK hope you get your scan.

Carikube · 09/01/2010 08:55

Angel morning to you too and pooe you with the hormones kicking in last night. I've had that a couple of times; DH is now getting used to me saying that I'm upset for no logical reason whatsoever...

All my sympathies to those with problem boilers. Our heating is still set to our pre-DC lifestyle so it doesn't come on until late at the weekends. Obviously with DD I'm now getting up that much earlier at weekends and this morning the house was like an icebox. I'm still waiting for the cold feel to the house to go away.

I must put my scan pictures on FB - we've got one very freaky one that looks like that painting 'The Scream' as LO was yawning at the time straight at camera....

Hollyoaks · 09/01/2010 10:21

Morning all, not much to report here, baby kicking really strongly now so it can be seen from the outside and counting down to Monday when I will be officially 20 weeks and then scan on Tuesday.

More snow outside but as its my birthday tomorrow dh is insistig we go shopping so he can buy me something for tomorrow . Pity we don't have much money to spend . I suppose thats what credit cards were designed for .

SK - good luck on getting to your scan today.

LuckyC · 09/01/2010 10:39

Hi all - just a quick one to say that our boiler has also exploded. Hurray. And I think I am getting flu - feel really headachey and weird.

Now, if we have switched off the power to the boiler (not the gas as have no idea where that is), there is no way we could be getting carbon monoxide from it, is there???

I have been lurking away at every spare minute - working so hard at the moment. Loving hearing about scans!

AnAngelWithin · 09/01/2010 10:56

oh luckyc, hope you feel better soon.

whats with all the boilers packing in??!?!

OP posts:
kateyjane · 09/01/2010 11:57

Morning everyone.
Hope you manage to get to town and get something lovely Hollyoaks Have a fab day tomorrow - who knows you might even get another bonus snow day on Monday

Hope you're feeling better this morning Angel. Luckyc I hope it's not flu and that you're feeling better later.

I've got a splitting headache and can't sleep at the moment, however I think this might be more to do with lack of fresh air and the onset of cabin fever. I've only been out once this week, which is very weird! (Am becoming completely addicted to MN though - so glad I discovered it )

Hope you get to your scan sweetkitty. Mine is next Wednesday and I can't wait! Going to have to be strong to not find out though as DH is adament that he doesn't want to know!

Have a good weekend everyone

ForcesSweetheart · 09/01/2010 12:53

Happy birthday for tomorrow hollyoaks Katey I have had a constant headache since xmas day. My GP said that from about 18-20plus weeks a change in hormone levels can cause some women to suffer a lot of headaches, and that I should just take it easy and take paracetamol.

Really stressing about the snow predicted to continue as I can't bear the thought of my scan this wednesday being postponed again! Was sposed to have it at 22 wks and by this wednesday I'll be 24+1 so will be really p'd off if I can't have it yet again. Have asked DH to take morning off work to drive me, as he's better in snow/ice than me so more likely to get me there even if weather ain't great. Shame army won't let him take me in one of their land rovers, that'd get there!

30ish · 09/01/2010 12:54

Hi everyone!

Bad case of cabin fever here too!

Had a bit of a scare in the night - really intense cramping pains acros my middle. I thought I was in labour! Went to the hospital early this morning and it seems i have an umbilical hernia! The joys!Baby boy has been kicking a little too hard on my bowels according to the doctor. Not in any pain at all now. Glad to know that the baby was fine though! Good luck with your scan today SK.

sweetkitty · 09/01/2010 13:58

Hi all looking unlikely I will get to my scan, one of our cars the CMAX is still in the garage, IF it gets it's new tyres AND they can fix the wipers we will go get the scan but it's looking doubtful as it wasn't the first thing they thought it would be with the wipers so will probably have to take it to another garage. The other car is still in Glasgow with a flat battery. Am I just doomed or what?

Will need to get out later and stock up on some supplies once we have a car that works. It's not bad here weather wise, we had a tiny bit of snow earlier but the sun is shining and it looks lovely from in here in the warm.

sweetkitty · 09/01/2010 13:59

30ish - what a scare, so is it just a case of it mends itself?

Den26 · 09/01/2010 14:38

Hi All -

30ish - that sounds painful, hope your resting up and that is resolves?

SK - that sucks re cars, why are htings never simple? Hope you get atleast one car back soon and scan can be resceduled.

Sorry to those with boiler troubles - it always happens at the most inconvenient times. Hope you have lots of blankets, electric heaters and hot chocolate!

Snow - everyone's worrying about me slipping on ice - my 80+ gran was trying to hold on to me to stop me from falling!!!!! Trying to tell her it would probably do more damage if she fell!

LO very active and if lying on back can now see kicks from the outside!! Is anyone else getting light-headed spells. Theres been a few times at work or shopping that i've felt close to passing out. Get very hot and faint. Not sure if i should speak to MW as there's prob not much they can do. I have my 22 week appointment with them in a couple of weeks anyway.

Getting all packed for going to Bath tomorrow for a weeks training. Sure it will be fine when i get there but its a thought. All the travelling with flights, buses and trains and the trainings pretty intensive - hope my pregnancy brain can handle it!!!

Hope you all enjoy the rest of your weekend

pigleychez · 09/01/2010 15:37

SK- The more DH and I think about it we are convinced it will be another girl. She seemed to correct herself back to baby pretty quickly afterwards. Girl is good.. makes use of the hundreds of bags of clothes I have in the loft!

Hope you get to your scan or can Re-schudule it. What do you think of your C-max? We have just come back from looking at some cars.. The ones not covered in snow anyway!

Hollyoaks- Hope you buy something nice

Lucky- Hope you get it sorted soon. Guess all theses boilers have been working overtime lately!

30 ish- Glad everything is OK after your scare.

Den- Bless your gran, looking after you!

Just been out and its bitterly cold out there. We are forecast another huge dumping of snow overnight [yawn] Everyone must be panicing as we drove past a massive queue just to get into Sainsburys carpark. It looked heaving! Dread to think what the state of the shelves inside are like!

Thankfully our new sofas were delivered this morning. They are lovely and comfy. Bit surprised they managed to get to us in thier giant lorry but not complaining!

30ish · 09/01/2010 16:25

SK - yes, hopefully it will mend itself but might need surgery after the birth. They won't do anything about it now. I need to go back if it happens again. Feel fine now, not even a hint of pain! Very strange!

Pigleychez - glad you got your sofas! We have had a few flurries but nothing major forecast until Monday and hopefully they will have got it wrong! I really need to get back to school and 3 year old DD really needs to get back to nursery! We might go a little bit insane if we have to stay home another day!

ForcesSweetheart · 09/01/2010 16:48

SK did you make it to the scan? I'm dying to know what you're having here!

TwentiethCenturyHeffa · 09/01/2010 18:22

Hi everyone,
Have been a bit mad here lately so haven't posted for a while.

Glad all scans are going well Hope the snow isn't causing too many problems for everyone - boilers packing in must be a real problem

We've got quite a lot here but can walk to the local supermarket so it's not too bad. We went out for essential supplies (DD's milk) on Wednesday and had to take her in the sledge which she loved.

Pigley - we heard our sonographer say him at one point and then they said it was a boy later. Although I think they called DD him as well so maybe just coincidence.

sweetkitty · 09/01/2010 21:14

Sorry ladies but didn't make it to the scan got the blooming car back at 5pm and the wipers are STILL not fixed got to go to some specialist now. DP still has to go into Glasgow by train tomorrow and wait for AA to come and sort his car out too.

pigley - have already spoken to you about CMAXs, think our next one is either a Galaxy, Sharan or Espace

Sorry to all of you getting more snow now, it sucks big time, heres hoping it's the last of it.

ForcesSweetheart · 09/01/2010 22:16

We love our Galaxy. It's a really old one with huge mileage we got for just a grand but has loads of cool toys like heated front seats etc. Love the flexibility removing the seats gives - huge boot was a godsend going to Glasgow over xmas.
