He did it again!!!
He was asleep in his cot at 7.30pm. He woke up at 8pm but I think it was wind and he was asleep in his cot again by 8.30pm. He then didn't wake up until 2.50am when I fed him, he fell asleep, I transferred him back to his cot and he slept until 6.45am when he woke up and rolled around in his cot for 20mins before DH got up and picked him up and gave him to me in bed for a feed.

Ginger - let's hope that if it's a fluke, it's a long-term fluke phase for both of us!

Kayzr · 10/12/2009 10:25

Yay Ginger and Ses!!! Let's hope they keep it up!!

Ginger, if you are worried then take her to see the GP. The boys sound like they have exactly the same thing but I'm not taking them because our GP is very funny about having anyone with any cold symptoms in case it is swine flu. I rang our GP who said to just give them baby cough medicine. Usually they will see any baby under 1 but as DS2 is a few days off being 1 he said there is no point.

I have to make loads of windows for my brothers cake today. I am getting sick of cake!!

essenceofSES · 10/12/2009 10:27

Morning Kay!
V exciting that we have the first 1st birthday coming up! What have you got planned?

Kayzr · 10/12/2009 11:06

We're having a party Saturday lunchtime with all the family. I think I have done my usual of getting too much food. But them I am doing my brother a birthday party for his 21st Saturday evening so I am stupidly busy friday and Saturday.

Then we are taking the boys to see Father Christmas at Castle Howard on Sunday. It's always so lovely up there.

gingerbreadlatte · 10/12/2009 11:23

That sounds great fun Kay- I cant believe its been a whole year!

Thanks for comments on DD. I rang NHS direct and they told me to ring GP. Rang GP and apparently a doctor is going to ring me to advise whether I need to go in. I think she is fine but best to check.

We've had our first NCT bust up. Ridiculously over setting a date for a secret santa meal. I've offered to host it (with DH cooking for us) and now the people who arent sure about dates have got all shirty. One email was really rude. QUite upset really, wish I'd not bothered. THough the onese that come will be good fun

Aww tink That can be one of the side effects whilst waiting for them to kick in. Doesn't normally last but not pleasant to begin with.

We had a good afternoon and made a Christmas bauble with O's footprint on one side and "Owen's 1st Christmas" written the other side. We get to collect it next week.

GruffaloSoldier · 10/12/2009 20:54

Evening all

Sorry I have been AWOL again. Having to chase Zach around all day while he cruises around the furniture is very wearing!

It must be the week for sleeping babies as GC has gone back to sleeping 12-13 hrs a night! My body isn't used to it yet though and it seems to have made me more tired
Well it is the last three nights so I really hope he keeps it up and I get the chance to get used to it!!

Ginger - Hello! I saw earlier post re meeting my friend - how cool! and fab about SG sleeping 12 hours. I would def leave her to it!

Re the BF, its totally your decision but I can see what you mean about making the return to work more stressful. You have done so well and should be proud, but she is doing so well now and getting so much lovely nutrients from the wonderful food that you are now preparing for her that if you want to give up you should. Maybe keeping one feed would be a nice comprimise if you are torn??

And so sorry about NCT ruck! That is so rude after you offered to cook for them! I would be annoyed too!Hopefully it will all blow over.

SES - great news on the sleeping O!You must be thrilled.

IDOB - so sorry about your DH hope he find something else soon.

Tink - sorry to hear you are struggling. what does your DH think?

Kayz - hope all the cake making is going ok!will there be pics on FB? are you going to give Moosy a run for her money?

Star - congrats to your DB and SIL!

Hi Glask - I think DD2 is in competition with GC on biggest appetitite. He never refuses solids, which I find quite worrying! I think he would eat till he popped.

Speaking of which I have just made dinner as DH is at work and I ate the lot. I feel like such a pig!!!

I went to DH's work today (special residential school and shadowed the behaviour psychologist. It was fab and I also got a break from GC!I did miss him though.

It has also just occurred to me that I am now officially a SAHM as my maternity pay finishes any day! slightly worried abut Im sure we will be ok.

Right well I'll stop rambling on now...

Hello to any lurkers

Moosy · 11/12/2009 02:50

I think DD3 might have reflux

I fed her every hour last night as she just wouldn't settle and so far tonight I've had 35 minutes sleep as she cries as soon as I put her down. I'm so tired and can't stop crying.

cantmummyhaveabreak · 11/12/2009 09:23

Oh moosy- Have left a message on your FB status. I hope you're ok. Have you got HV/midwife coming any day soon to talk to? Can you ring them to come for a chat to see what they reccomend... I'm no expert on reflux as none of mine ever had it but from what i know it's not nice, but can soon be treated for and make things much easier.

You know where we are.... and {{{{{HUGS x20}}}}} (just for you though- dont tell anyone )

tinkerbellstinkerbells · 11/12/2009 09:53

oh poor you moosy

still feeling nausea havent been sick since last nite
meant to be going up to hull for xmas a week wed!!

OP posts:
Moosy · 11/12/2009 10:29

Midwife is coming this morning (don't know what time) so I'll talk to her about it then. I've still got a cupboard full of Gaviscon left over from DD2 so I've given her some of that and it made a huge difference! As soon as I gave her it she stopped screaming, then I sat and held her 2 hours until 3.30am when I gave her some more and fed her and she slept until 5.30 when I fed her again with no gaviscon and she slept until 9.30! It seems to be worse at night at the moment which is how DD2 started out.

I feel much better generally now than I did at 3 this morning when I'd only had 30 minutes sleep! DH was great in the night too, he sat with me while I cried and held her for me when I was sorting things out and when I was ready to throw her down the stairs!

tinkerbellstinkerbells · 11/12/2009 11:57

hi moosy - good luck with midwife

gingerbreadlatte · 11/12/2009 13:04

Hi everyone

Moosy, sorry to here things are tough- hope MW sorts things out and your DD3 settles down quickly with some gaviscon.

Gruff- great to hear from you. Wow, good news for the GC's sleeping patterns.

Tink- hope you are feeling better today

Hi everyone else who is around

After thinking we could drop our 10pm feed last night DD woke at 9.30pm- think she was trying to tell me something! So will see what happens tonight

Off out to do some shopping later- hope it's not too busy.

Really stuck for ideas for a 2nd wedding anniversary gift for DH. We have budget of £20. Any suggestions would be welcome

IWroteOffLightningMcQueen · 11/12/2009 13:29

Hello

Bloody stupid damn internet, would let me everywhere except MN - again, DH got MN working last night but I was shattered (have been ill, again sodding hate winter!) so thought I'd leave it till this morning, got all excited as I waved DS1 off to school and legged it to the laptop, then it wouldn't work, rang DH to find out what he'd done to get it to work, he talked me through some firewall thing on the AV thingymebob (I know what I'm on about!!) still didn't work, so did an online shop and tried again and it's worked! Hurrah!!!

Oh my goodness me, there is a wasp outside the window, does it not know it's December?

So, not sure what I've missed, think last time I was here, Kay and her DH were having some probs? All sorted I hope? Has Diege landed yet? Tink, which boots did you get?

Moosy, have just seen last couple of messages, hope the MW was of some help? Poor little thing and you. Fingers crossed for a better time of it for you both tonight.

We were meant to be going down to my mum's this weekend for a mini-christmas and to see the twins, but we've all had this sore throat/cough thing (DS3 was really bad with it, spent a whole day on the sofa with him, he barely moved) and at mum's end the norovirus is wrecking havoc, so have postponed till January, which is actually a really good job because we are so not ready for xmas, and DS3's bday, this weekend we have 'reclaimed' is a godsend!

Am we have to wait to see the twins though They sound like they are doing so well, both of them had been in and out of intensive care for various things, then about Sunday/Monday they both seemed to turn a corner, they are now just waiting for them to take feeds either from the breast or a bottle (so no tube feeding) for 48 hours then they can go home, have my fingers crossed so tightly that they will all be home for xmas. Luckily the hospital isn't too far from where they live but still, to be home for xmas would be my sister's dream come true!

Think I might get these two wrapped up and go for a little walk, we've not been out the front door since Saturday, am feeling like knocking the walls down with a spoon if that's what it takes to get out of here! And poor DH, his bank balance has taken a bit of a hit Can think of worse ways to spend a week being ill though!

IWroteOffLightningMcQueen · 11/12/2009 13:33

Traditional second anniversary is cotton, modern is china.

Not sure that's much help?!! You could get him a china tea set and a cotton tea towel/pinny and tell him where the kettle is?!!

Bloody hell, the wasp is back maybe not go out for walk....!

IDOBisamummy · 11/12/2009 13:46

Hi everyone,

I haven't been able to get on much recently as DP is working at home a lot.

Tink - sorry you are feeling sick just now, I hope it wears off soon.

Gruff - fantastic news on GCs sleeping, I hope it continues!

Moosy - sorry you and the LO are having a tough first few days. Hopefully the midwife has some suggestions. Did DD1 or DD2 have reflux?

Ses - the bauble sounds cute, we have a kit to do foot and handprints together with a photo in a frame - I must remember to get n and do it this weekend, she is getting so big already.

Ginger - sorry about the NCT bust up, it's rubbish that people don't appreciate the effort you have put into arranging this. I hope you get it sorted out soon. How is DD today?

Oops, thats all I can remember, sorry to everyone I've missed.

DD is having a very sleepy day today so I'm catching up on MN and all the e-mails I haven't returned. She still sleeps loads during the day, she is barely up for an hour between long naps but when she is up she is so smiley and is wriggling around all over the place. She is fascinated with her hands this week which is amusing and has started grabbing hold of her toys.

Moosy · 11/12/2009 14:00

MW was a bit useless, she said that if she's not actually being sick then it's probably reflux, just a 'bit of a tummy ache' and to keep feeding her lots That's what I was doing and she was getting worse, Gaviscon makes her happy, reflux doesn't always make them sick, just in pain. Stoopid woman. Ah well, I'll make an appt for the Dr next week and carry on with the Gaviscon in the meatime.

IDOB, DD1 had it very badly and DD2 had it mildly which is the only reason I knew to spot it.

My friend popped in this morning on her way home from town and asked if there was anything she could do for me and ended up taking DD2 to her house for the day DD1 is at preschool so I've had about an hours sleep this morning and feel soooooooooo much better for it. Might go and have a bit more now actually

at Gruff and GBL and the sleeping too, I can't WAIT for that stage!

Moosy · 11/12/2009 14:00

Oops, I mean probaby not reflux.

tinkerbellstinkerbells · 11/12/2009 18:17

Wow! First post of the day at nearly 2.30pm! Is that a record?!

Kay - hope your wkend of birthday celebrations goes really well.

Moosy - sorry you've not had the easiest few days. Stoopid MW as could def be silent reflux. Follow your instincts as you know best and are doing a fab job.

IDOB - sorry for DP's job. DD sounds like she's v cute and doing well.

Ginger - hope NCT bust up works out well. All the boys in our group have decided there should be £20 put in a kitty by each couple and whoever gets pg first wins the money!! What's all that about???! Am I really bad for hoping it's me and DH that are first? I'm getting serious "I want to be pg" feelings. We won't try until at least May though so I may just end up being of whoever is first in our group.

I'm rambling now because I'm sat in the hairdressers waiting for my highlights to take and MNing via my phone

Moosy · 12/12/2009 14:38

The gaviscon worked a treat last night, she fed at 8, 10.15 then 12.30, then I woke her up at 5.30 because I was bursting! She's got a bit of a cold too so is very snuffly and she had to spend part of the night sleeping on my pillow so she was propped up a bit but I feel soooooooooooo much better having had a decent nights sleep

essenceofSES · 12/12/2009 14:48

That's great Moos. Glad you had a better night. Hope her snuffles don't get any worse.
Have you decided on a middle name yet?

Moosy · 12/12/2009 14:59

I think we've pretty much settled on Rose but we haven't actually talked about it for a few days - probably ought to really!
