Morning- DC's are busy eating their porridge- fed DD2 hers already- the little greedy guts gobbled the lot within a minute!!

Have arranged that my mum is hopefully having the DC's for a night between xmas and new year so me and DH can go out for a meal. Should be nice.

Moosy- glad you got a better night yesterday- hope last night was the same

ses- i'm starting to get a very broody feeling... even though i've just started back on the pill, and i'm pushing DH to get his app for the snip ... logic tells me i'm never having another- but seeing new babies makes me think- 'i want one'... however... i dont want to risk another premmy baby, dont wanna risk having another horrific pregnancy and i dont want 4 children- i just want a baby... when they get to toddler age thats it, i only want the baby bits again... though- that sounds bad as DD2 is still very much a baby...

cantmummyhaveabreak · 13/12/2009 12:04

wow- very quiet weekend on here!!

DD2 is currently guzzling a bottle!!!! WUHOOOO!! that means i can finally have a night off without feeling guilty that she wont take a bottle as i now know she's perfectly capable of it!!

Moosy · 13/12/2009 12:27

I got 8 hours sleep last night! She fed at 7, 10, 1, 5.30, 9.30 so in between those times I sleeeeeept! Her cold is a bit better and she doesn't seem to wake herself up snoring so often now which is good too

I feel like I'm back in the land of the living again!

Good news on the bottle front Can't, do you have stores of EBM for using when you get pissed go out or will you use formula?

Wonder how Diege is getting on with her new house?

essenceofSES · 13/12/2009 14:54

Hello!

Moos - that's great on the sleep front

Cant - must feel great to know DD2 will take a bottle. Will be great for you and DH to have a night out. I'd really like a night out with just DH. I think it's really important that we spend time together as ourselves rather than being at home as mum & dad the whole time IYKWIM. Hopefully we'll manage it in the new year.

Tink - how are you feeling?
Green coat sounds lovely.

We're just back from a walk - me, DH, O and the dogs. I got O snuggled up in his all in one polar fleece suit for the first time. It was a bit big but that didn't matter and he fell asleep on the walk.
We're now watching Angels & Demons. DH is meant to be ironing and I'm meant to be writing Christmas cards but at the moment we're both sat on our back sides eating chocolate

Moosy · 13/12/2009 16:12

Sounds ideal Ses

IDOBisamummy · 13/12/2009 16:20

Hi all,

we've had a lovely day today. We went up to Castle Howard this morning and had a long walk around the grounds with DD sleeping in her carrier then we had a look around the house - DD woke up and enjoyed staring at the xmas lights and fires. Then we went for a late lunch at Loch Fyne - mmmmmm!

DDs sleeping has been a bit crap for the last week. She had been sleeping from 9-3 then feeding then sleeping until 7 but this last week she has been having 4 feeds instead of 1 and taking a while to settle after her feeds. She only sleeps for 2-3 hours when she goes to bed then often wakes up again after an hour and seems desperate for a feed - I don't know what has changed. Any ideas? She had gone 9 days without a poo until yesterday and I thought maybe she was quite uncomfortable and maybe didn't take quite as big a feed as usual but yesterday she had a huge poo so that doesn't explain last night (it overflowed her nappy and soaked her, her clothes, the mat she was on, the floor and all the cloths we could reach ! It was bad enough in the house but I'm a bit worried it could happen when I have her in the carrier - yuck!). During the day she is sleeping and feeding as normal, it's just at night she seems to be hungry all the time.

Ses - hope you are enjoying relaxing with choc, the perfect way to spend a Sunday afternoon .

Can't - that's great, it'll be fab to have a night out with your DH. Mum has said she will babysit either christmas day or boxing day evening so we can go out with my DB and SIL but if DD doesn't settle down I am going to have to express a lot of milk at mums to leave her to feed DD. I'm nt sure about expressing here and taking it up - I'm sure it will defrost on the drive.

Moos - great news on the sleep front. It's amazing how much better you feel after a few hours kip isn't it!

Morning,

IDOB, I can't believe it!! We were at castle Howard too!! But we were stuck in a stupid queue to see father Christmas. We stood for an hour and a half and then he had to go for his lunch, so we just got the presents and left. DS1 was devastated and was crying his eyes out but we were all freezing and starving. It's normally really good but they have moved it this year.

DS2 didn't sleep at all Saturday night. I still feel half dead despite sleeping well last night.

Hope everyone is well.

cantmummyhaveabreak · 14/12/2009 09:11

Morning- i'm having a mega blitz... well i will be every morning through till thursday as MIl is coming on friday!!

DH is off tomorrow though so will help me sort the dining room out.

Hope everyone's well.

IWroteOffLightningMcQueen · 14/12/2009 10:06

Morning

Ses, Sunday afternoon chocolate munching, sounds good to me! (Your DH irons? )

Kay and IDOB, castle sounds lovely Sorry for huge queue though Kay.

IDOB, how old is she now? Could it be a(nother!) growth spurt? 6/9/12/16 weeks are the rough guides.

Moosy, hoorah for sleep

Can't, am with you on the clearing up. Pretty boring isn't it?

We had a semi-productive weekend, we cancelled going to Mum's, earlier last week, but by Saturday we were all just left coughing, so Saturday we went to Southport, got lots of xmas bits (cards wrap etc.) then Yesterday the morning kind of went because we'd had too much to drink Saturday night, but yesterday we got the tree for the dining room, decorated it and the room, got all the xmas treats out on the table and sorted the living room so I have room to put the other tree up in there ready for the kids to decorate it tonight when DS1 gets home.

The twins went home on Friday! I bought them pink dolls, pink dresses, pink bibs, pink hats and mittens sets, and a picture thing to go in their room with their names and birthdate etc. on PINK!!!!!! Should have seen me choosing their dresses, even DS1 put his head in hand's to hide! PINK!!!!!

Right, time to clear up upstairs, it's barely been touched with me being ill on the trot, it is resembling a car boot sale up there

cantmummyhaveabreak · 14/12/2009 10:13

Lightening- Yep- have re-jigged the living room and it looks much tidier now!! Am very pleased with what i've done.... however, the sofa is still full of bills/unopened good food mags/ craft bits for the DC's etc.... all came off my PC desk it was a mess- just piled kinda neatly... dont want MIL to see it!!

had a very strange dream last night and it's left me with a strange feeling in my stomach... i was PG with another DS, DD2 was about 2/3yo... and my mum gave birth to a little girl and i had to deliver it. Straight after the birth she went off to work to see if she could have some time off, leaving me with a 1hr old baby... I was unsure how she was going to feed and didn't know wether to feed it some formula or what!! was very strange!! Strangest thing was being PG myself in the dream.... i now really think i want a 4th....

Kayzr · 14/12/2009 10:30

I really need to tidy too. We made the place spotless for DS2's party but since then we've had 2 parties and the boys seem to mush any food they have into the floor!!! I need to rearrange the front room. I really don't like it how it is.

Cant, are you sure you want DH to have the snip?

tinkerbellstinkerbells · 14/12/2009 10:36

OP posts:
cantmummyhaveabreak · 14/12/2009 10:37

Kayz- my thoguhts exactly!! haha!! but to be honest- we couldn't have another DC unless we could guarrentee a girl (for bedrooms sake) there's no chance we can afford to move, so if we got PG we'd have to sell then rent which would be super pointless as we'd then have no security for the DC's and could have landlords selling etc and having to move every year- i dont want that for them... DH would NEVER agree to a 4th anyway!! I only just got him to agree to a 3rd.... and that was with some naughty bargaining on my behalf (but he fell for it )...

essenceofSES · 14/12/2009 17:00

Hello!

Been having a traumatic and emotional day today. Had a meeting this morning to discuss my return to work. Didn't get the days I wanted (Mon pm wfh, all day Wed&Thurs and half day Sat). It would have meant only 2 days in nursery for O. They want me to do 3 full week days which must be either Mon or Tues, every Fri and one other.
I phoned DH as I left and he was quite factual and dismissive as to him it's quite logical that I just do what they say. I then got v upset as I don't really want to go back more than half a day a week so I can keep my hand in. I phoned DH back and somehow we both ended up getting upset. To cut a long story short, I feel he just doesn't get how much things have changed and are going to change and he says I make him feel that he's not a good dad. I've cancelled a friend coming over tonight so DH and I can have some time. I think we both need to try understanding the other's perspective a bit more.

Sorry for me post. Will try and catch up later.

IWroteOffLightningMcQueen · 14/12/2009 19:11

Ses, I've never had the 'going back to work' thing, so I'm not pretending I know where you're coming from, but the fundimental both of you coming at it from different angles is pretty much universal! It doesn't mean that either of you are a better parent than the other, it is just simply different. I think you've done the right thing in making sure you have some proper time tonight to sort it out. Good luck! I'm sure by tomorrow morning you'll have found the solution

Tink, hope you're pleased with your hair? Am torn with mine at the moment, don't know whether to have it permed (not lovely 80's finger in the plug socket type of perm! Just a nice wave to lift it and thicken it a bit!) or go a bit drastic and have the lot chopped. I love the length at the moment, it's down to my bra strap at the back, but although I don't have a lot of hair at all, each strand is very thick, so it is very heavy, dead straight, by lunch time it just hangs if left to it's own devices, a bit boring and flat. Want something a bit more interesting.

Wish you lot would stop talking about babies but not really am in the 'IF I could have a girl, IF we can deffo move again next year, IF we won the lottery, IF DH would stop getting older(!), IF DH would agree (not in a million!) oh and IF I didn't have to go through a pregnancy again' group!

DS1 is at a disco, school disco on a monday night till 8, he's going to be shattered tomorrow!

Had better go and look busy, DH is glaring at me

Hope you sort something Ses, g'night everyone xx

gingerbreadlatte · 15/12/2009 09:19

Morning

Glad the parties went ok Ses

Cant good luck with the blitzing! I am having a cleaning day tomorrow.

Ses- you have my every sympathy. How was your chat with DH? The whole thing about going back to work is awful. But I strongly think its one of those things that the thought is worse than the doing. Not that I've done it yet though! I've been getting wound up about it since August and I've only just about got my head around it now, 2wks before I am due to go back...

I've had the same issues about going back and HR not giving me my requested hours. My DH wasnt massively sympathetic either. So I can feel your pain. Its a mixture of so many things.

I am around next Monday and Tuesday if you want to meet for a coffee anywhere. x

Hi everyone else [hsmile]

gingerbreadlatte · 15/12/2009 09:21

PS- I am v broody but have to get back to work for a while first i think! Have decided I'd like baby to be born February to July. I told DH this last night [hhmm] [hshock] he looked rather disturbed at how much I'd thought about it!

gingerbreadlatte · 15/12/2009 09:22

I meant Kayz- glad your party went well!

essenceofSES · 15/12/2009 09:38

Morning!

Feeling better today. Unfortunately (incase you hadn't noticed!) I'm the sort of person that copes with things by offloading and chatting to other people so when DH seemed too busy to talk yesterday, just made me feel v lonely and lost.

DH came home with flowers. I then tried to talk to him by saying "I cancelled my friend coming over so we could talk. Tell me how you find things have changed and are difficult". He said "No, we don't need to talk anymore as I've won because I bought you flowers"

Problem is neither of us likes confrontation so we do all we can to avoid it until I end up an emotional wreck and it all becomes a huge drama.

Ginger - thanks, I may text you about next Mon or Tues. I'm happy to come over your way this time.
DH said last night that if my return to work didn't work out after 3-4 months, we could look at me stepping down to be just a pharmacist 3 days a week. I said that I hoped I'd be pg again then and he looked (We had talked about ttc from May and I go back to work end of Feb...)

Lightning - thanks for your support too.
With your hair, I know how you feel. Mine was about that length for quite some years and I loved having really long hair but felt it just "hung" because of the dull way my hair is really! Guess you could either perm it or go for sticking those huge velcro rollers in the roots to give it some body and keeping it ironed straight. Guess the perm will be less day to day maintenance though!

tink - are there any pics of your new hair?

I'm pleased with what I had done with mine on Sat - highlights and a sort of long bob. Much easier!

tinkerbellstinkerbells · 15/12/2009 09:39

morning

ses - sorry for upset over going back to work hope u get it sorted to suit u both

ligthning - i would get it chopped off. i had a perm in may and it is still in my hair had it chopped has getting sick of perm. i luv it this length so much easier

IDOBisamummy · 16/12/2009 09:11

Morning all,

DD had her first injections yesterday . She absolutely howled but it was as much about the way I was holding her as the jab - she didn't want to lie on my knee. She really scared the other mums waiting to take their babies in . She was quite tired and grumpy yesterday but woke up all smiles this morning . On Monday there was a photographer at her swimming lesson and he took some pics of her underwater - I can't wait to see them!

Tink - I'm glad the nausea has worn off and I hope you don't feel tired for too long. Is it worth taking a vitamin tonic to give yourself a boost?

Ses - hope you get something sorted with work soon . How lovely of DH to bring you some flowers but I sympathise with the difficulty getting him to talk - DP can be similar, he hates discussing problems so just tries to ignore them or laugh it off.

Lightening - thanks for the advice, it could be a 9 week growth spurt, this is just how she was at 6 weeks.

Can't believe all this broody chat - maybe it's just too soon for me but even though I love DD and want her to have a sib some day I'm in NO rush to go through pregnancy and labour again. Plus she is such a good baby but it's still really hard work so I'd dread having a poor sleeper/colicky baby next time.
