The pharmacies being able to prescribe thing is dependant on where you live unfortunately. It's up to the PCT to draw up a scheme and get pharmacists signed up. It's called a "minor ailments service".
Gradually more and more PCTs are doing it but IMHO it would make much more sense if the DoH commissioned a national service! I guess that's why they don't market it much as not everyone does it!
MMM - clever Max
Cant - hope the conjunctivitis clears up quickly for her.
Kay - just looked back at your posts about DH. It is really tough for anyone out of work but I think a dad really feels it as he sees his role as bringing in the money and supporting the household. I guess it's hard but he needs to start opening up to you more. DH did this yesterday about a problem he had at work and it made the world of difference - I understood why he spent the afternoon on his laptop and I unloaded the car and unpacked. If he hadn't explained, I'd have been a bit resentful.
Rugby - great that C has started sleeping better. Hope this phase lasts a long time!
Diege - I also end up looking at clothes if I go into Tesco. I generally get my groceries delivered as it controls my spending!
Center Parcs was just great and I'd say definitely suitable for all ages. They had different playgrounds for different age groups, great swimming pools, cycle hire with baby carriers, spa, about 5 different restaurants as well as a Starbucks and a open plan bar with tv for football & rugby and just about every activity you can think of from water sports to archery to golf to badminton, ten-pin bowling, climbing wall and loads more. The supermarket on site was good to and not marked up v much.
O also loved the creche he went to on Sunday morning. I got a little report card (he settled immediately; he ate all his snack; he slept from 11.20,etc. Also got his first piece of art to put on the fridge door - a sheet with 6 of his footprints and a little ryhme about his stay at Center Parcs.
Can you tell we liked it??!
DS is definitely over his stomach bug but now has a streaming cold. Almost constantly needing to wipe his nose which (obviously!) he hates.
We had a breakthrough last night though. I put him to bed as normal and was then meeting friends in Crawley for pizza. Within 5mins of driving down the road (onto the M23) DH phoned me to tell me he was awake. He said that if he told me to come home, he knew I wouldn't be happy so it was up to me! With that, the motorway infront of me was closed due to an accident so I had no choice - I was stuck! I talked DH through taking DS up to his room in dim light, standing with him on his shoulder, talk or sing quietly to him, expect him to cry for 10mins or so and he should drop off.
DH has never wanted to try before but as he had no choice, gave it a go. First time, O woke up as he was put in his cot, second time it worked a treat
All obvious stuff I know but just pleased DH has done it now, so can do it again!
