Foloow? That looks like it would be fun to say, but when you say, it isn't really....

Diege · 05/02/2010 16:57

I think the placenta thing is really the only thing they do check, if I remember correctly, plus doppler readings to check blood flow which I think is part of the same thing too. I think your treatment is pretty typical of the NHS TBH, from what I've read on other threads - not the best, and certainly not following 'evidence based practice' as they should be doing...
You know, all this talk of ttc-ing has finally got me feeling quite broody! I know dh is keen, but would 5 be totally over the top? I think coming up to 40 there's a bit of me that's thinking this is my last shot...but that of course is hardly a good reason, lol!

NatalieJane · 05/02/2010 17:04

I am one of 5, DH is one of five, there are loads on here who have 5+.

I say have 2 more and give one to me!

Kayzr · 05/02/2010 17:14

5 would be a lovely number Diege. Go for it!!!

Diege · 05/02/2010 17:34

You two are an awful influence
Didn't realise you were one of 5 NAT - was it fun or awful? Think it will probably stay at 4, but will 'review' things in a year or so...

Kayzr · 05/02/2010 17:40

Our neighbour is expecting her 4th. I am really jealous but they weren't to pleased at first but they seem happy now.

tinksbabyis1 · 05/02/2010 17:44

i am off to my mums tomorrow
we are doing and nct sale have loads of toys to sell
want to get dd1 a new bed with the money we make so hoping to get lots

NatalieJane · 05/02/2010 17:53

Neither really, there is a 15 year difference between eldest and youngest, there are a few of us that have never got on, and a few of us that get on like a house on fire, all completely different, all have different ideas of what's right, what's not, etc. I suppose the main thing is that we can just about all sit in the same room and WW3 not kick off. I think in a nut shell it's a case of "No I won't give you my last chocolate greedy, unless you're starving then you can have the whole box" DYKWIM? LOL If one of us need's something we're all there, if one of us is kicking off about something then the rest will tell them straight (except for the situation with one sister and her kids, who no one will tell off for fear of repercussions on mum - families eh? Who'd have 'em?!)

NatalieJane · 05/02/2010 17:56

Sorry x posts, last msg was to Diege's question about it being fun or not!

Good luck with NCT Tink Hope you get what you need for a bed, and enjoy the weekend.

Diege · 05/02/2010 17:59

I love that analogy of the box of chocs NAT - sums it up perfectly!
Good luck with the NCT sale TINKS - make sure you don't spend all the proceeds

maxxymoosmummy · 05/02/2010 21:01

evening everyone. not caught up as there was alot, haha.
not long got in, been at CANTS today, and went to the sure start group. ended up getting chinese for tea which was yummy, altho DS didnt eat his and was sick all over his uncle.
had a bad nyt last night with DS he went down at around 6.30 then woke at around 9.30 screaming, so i went and made sure he was ok, and he was really upset so i got him out for cuddles, and it didnt work, so put him back down and he was wimpering and waking up screaming every 10 mins
even tried putting him in bed with me but it didnt work. all i got out of him was 'dada' inbetween cries. he finally went to sleep at 12.10 after crying constantly for 20 minutes.

Diege · 06/02/2010 09:43

Morning! Hope you had a better night with ds MMM - sounds tough .
Trying to get some marking doen today, as dds are over at MIL. Have just finished expenses form which feels like a major achievement - and then balanced that out with a sneaky QVC purchase - Liz Earle spring skin stuff - have read great things about her products, and my skin is tired..
Right, better get started on marking before ds wakes from nap. Off to Cardiff tomorrow for another stayover and looking forward to my sleep again (getting greedy).
Hope everyone is enjoying the weekend - bright and sunny here

cantmummyhaveabreak · 06/02/2010 09:53

Well..... last night me and DH had the real 'DC4 chat' and i think it's almost certain we are going to have another. DH says he doesn't really want a 4th but he knows how much i do, and how much he didn't want a 3rd but he'd never have it any other way now. He says that as long as we've sorted the dining room, ie replace flooring and top to toe plastering, skirtings, carpets, decorated and using that room as our living room, giving the kids seperate bedrooms AND got a big chunk of money towards the new bigger car we'd need then we can start TTC, so maybe in about 12mths. We can then save the rest of the car money and get the new car while PG. And it gives my body a 2 year rest between having DD2 and being pg again.

If Dh was to get every possible bonus from now we could be trying within about 6mths, but i think 12mths is more likely. also gives us longer to finish more in the house. And hopefully means DD2 will be walking by time DC4 arrived... so ladies- heres to the next 'wagon for ttc'...

Waiting to TTC-
Kayz- 2 DS's, TTC DC3 from Aug 10?
Cant- 1 DS & 2DD's, TTC DC4 from 2011?
Diege........

Diege · 06/02/2010 10:14

OOh CANT I got a shiver of excitement up my spine when I saw The List . Sounds like you and dh have sorted out and rationalised things very well. And I AM NOT adding my name to the list...not that they'll be no no.5, but that I know the minute it's down there in black and white I'll start fidgeting around with the date and before you know it will be ttc-ing .

cantmummyhaveabreak · 06/02/2010 10:31

Diege- you so need to add your name!! haha!! maybe we can be TTC buddies in 12mths??? Think it was gruff who i was cycle buddies with, DC's ended up due a day apart too. was nice to have someone to help be strong on testing etc.

I've decided we're not gonna go at it hammer and tongs though, i'm gonna try and be relaxed about it, i wont be having PG testx in the house until AF is late, wont be using OV tests or anything either. We're just gonna take it as it comes, we do really have plenty of time to get PG, so when the right time comes we'll just stop 'preventing pregnancy'... and there'll be no POAS jeering!!! I can't cope with peer pressure and i'd cave in no time and i dont wanna become a neurotic TTcer like i was last time!! It drove DH mad!!

NatalieJane · 06/02/2010 10:35

Morning

How exciting?!! LOL at fidgeting with the dates as well How much did your dates change last time Diege?

Am still in pj's, kids are still in pj's, none of us can be bothered to move. DS1 has his mouth on, again, for a 7 year old he knows how to pout, he sound's exactly like Kevin, less the 'bloody hells', everything is "wHHaaaattT?" or "humph" or "SorrReeee" in that way that can only be answered with "well if you're sorry, say it like you mean it" Moody bugger he is! DH is at work. Nothing planned, nothing happening, oh except DS1 telling me he's bored every two minutes because I've told him he's not having his laptop for an hour. Only he'd not think to go and find something else to do, taking his laptop is like taking his arms and legs. Loads-a-fun in this house today...

Diege · 06/02/2010 10:49

I think I fidgeted it to about 6 months early last time NAT . Hope day goes ok - is the weather up to going out or will it be a case of trying to get furthest away from them in the house? We also have laptop thingy with dd2, so sympathies..
CANT, you know 12 months will probably be the timescale if we do ttc. Ideally I'd wait till ds was in school, but will be 43/44 by then, so will have to be earlier (or not at all). I will remind you of your 'calm' approach to HPTs, 'signs' etc when you are in your 2-week wait

cantmummyhaveabreak · 06/02/2010 10:49

Nat- you sure you're not in my house? We're all in PJ's... DS being grumpy becasue i said no wii and said he can colour/make a collage/paint or something... nope- he doesn't wanna do that as it's boooooooooring!!

Bit embarrasing, knock at the door, answered in my PJ's as it may have been important, nope- it was a young, pretty damn fine looking gentleman asking if he can put the ladders in our garden to see the neighbours roof.... i must have looked a right lazy mare and my red and pink chequered PJ's and pink fluffy slippers!! Hair not even done- oops!!

Diege · 06/02/2010 10:50

Bugger! Ds has ripped the cover sheets off 2 of the a-level scripts They were pretty crap, but still...

cantmummyhaveabreak · 06/02/2010 10:54

Diege- i refuse to pinpoint my AF's this time so i'm not gonna even know what CD i'm on.... or thats the plan 12mths in advance I would ideally love a summer baby, one summer baby would be lovely, we have 2 winter babies and a spring (just) baby... so a summer baby would be fab!! but that'd mean starting ttc from august/sept time... this sept/aug is most likey going to be too soon (unless DH gets this and the next bonus) and next sept is WAAAAAAAAAAAY too far away!! The sooner the better i say, within our reasonings... (ie from once we're in a position house-wise) we dont want to have 4 Dc's to have to sort a house out with, it'd be much easier to have the baby after we've sorted it... maybe just leaving us to have to do the kitchen and replace the boiler within the first 2 years of having 4DC's.

cantmummyhaveabreak · 06/02/2010 10:55

oh no diege- what are you gonna do? just staple them back together? or has he munched them too?... poor student will be getting baby breakfast smelling papers back!!

Diege · 06/02/2010 11:02

Students don't get them back CANT, so just a case of filling in a form as they are 'being returned in a condition different from that which they were received in'. It's more the slobber and crumpledness that makes them look so different!
Could you maybe start ttc-ing sept time? I think it was oct that I was pregnant with dd1 and had her end of July. Agree, doing house will be a lot easier before getting pregnant, but having said that not many pregnancy timings fit in so conveniently with our plans! Summer babies are great though (I have 2)and life is easier with a nb I'd say (if the summer is a good one!)
And I'm sure the man has see it all at the door

cantmummyhaveabreak · 06/02/2010 11:14

The only way we can start ttc in sept is if we've done the dining room, and have the DC's in 'girls' and 'boys' rooms so it's all sorted and wont be something i'll want to do while nesting. Were happy to do the DC's decorating while PG, but the moving beds about etc will have to be done beforehand. Which means the dining room needs to become the living room and the current living room our bedroom. Does that make sence? Otherwise if we dont do the work on the house first we'll have to do it while PG PLUS save for a new car and all the baby bits we'll need (mainly clothes though), and if a boy a different pram, if a girl i'll just buy new wheels for my luna. To get all that done plus most of the money for a new car by sept would mean DH would ahve to get the next 2 bonuses which are then paid in April and July... we're looking at buying one of these cars i think. DH thinks it looks a bit odd, but also hates the size of a galaxy/zafira sort of car... He doesn't wanna be driving a bus... even though we currently have a scenic...

cantmummyhaveabreak · 06/02/2010 11:18

oh meant to add at the end, that it means there's a small chance of starting this sept, but i'm not prepared to get PG until we've got money towards the car, and car comes after doing the immideate (know it's spelt wrong...) things we need to do in the house. DH and I both agree on that one. While PG i'll need maternity clothes, extra money in case DH has to take any unpaid time to help with the DC's if i have MS... Also when i've had MS we spend so much more on convenience foods, that are healthy, so i can feed the kids ok without having to be sick in the kitchen sink, that our food budget almost doubles while PG. so i dont wanna have to count on saving while PG to make everything fine for DC4's arrival.

Diege · 06/02/2010 11:22

The front bit on that car does look a bit odd doesn't it Sort of like it's frowning..But if it does the job... I sippose car wise for us it's not much different for 5 dcs as for 4 (ie, 7 seater), not that we travel in it much anyway (we car share and use public transport 99% of the time). Bedroom-wise the older dds share, so if we had another, depending on gender, it would share with either dd3 or ds (can just about squeeze 2 beds in each, or bunks with ease). Eventually we'd have to use on of the downstairs rooms for a bedroom, but had planned on that anyway for when they got older. Let's hope dh gets those bonuses anyway, and that your plan works! Great news that you have decided though on having another!
