OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
hurrydownthechimneytonight · 14/12/2009 16:25

ahh bless thats great! Wish I had an idea of how big bubba is right now he feels huge although i have nothing to compare him to!

Not long to go now though!

crumpette · 14/12/2009 16:32

great!? aaagh lol I am getting scared

I know someone who had a baby recently and kindly emailed me a very detailed description of the birth and the stitches she had afterwards! she's not my friend anymore!!

Seriously I'm starting to panic a bit...!

crumpette · 14/12/2009 16:33

I think maybe I am panicking because I've never been to an antenatal class in my life, I don't know how I managed with DD but it involved a lot of screaming and expletives! Has anyone else not been to any classes..?

mistletoekisses · 14/12/2009 16:45

Hi! Just jumping on quickly to pass update on.

I texted CTFN earlier and she has just replied. She is still having contractions and under observation. Watch this space!

sockmonkey · 14/12/2009 16:47

Crumpette DS1 weighed 6lb 10 when he was born (two weeks late!) People didn't always have antenatal classes, and the human race has survived thus far. It's ok to panic. Although the classes I went to didn't really cover everything I would have wanted to know.
Nice of your friend to scare you. I think peole like to give you the horror stories when it's too late to do anything about it

You want to hear about stitches... let me tell you about DS1

mistletoekisses · 14/12/2009 18:12

Hoorah! Christmas smileys are here.

I know, I know, must get out more!

hurrydownthechimneytonight · 14/12/2009 19:19

lol smilies yayy!!

Sorry didnt mean great when he has more growing to do yet!

any news from Lottie anyone?

crumpette · 14/12/2009 19:42

haha no I was joking ! I think with so many people having their LOs already on this thread I have become a little nervous about the whole eviction process!!

speaking of which, yes, news is demanded from lottie, CTFN and WMDO! (any anyone else whose bumps are keen to arrive in time for christmas!)

Hoping Thomas continues to do well MMB and Ali, like I said, thinking of you and Jacob x

Right, I'm off to look up antenatal classes and breathing techniques on youtube...!

Fraochsmum · 14/12/2009 20:55

Did you get my email Mistletoekisses? I sent it a couple of days ago and fear it has 'somehow' gone to the wrong address
I'm sorry to hear that hurrydown, but everyone will understand your situation - I never cease to be amazed at how ott many people go at this time of year...

bethoo · 14/12/2009 21:35

saw mw (a different one) and baby was masuring at 35 though her bottom was under my rib cage so the measurement was high! she is not engaged but she may just pop in there when i go into labour what with two babies already have been in there so nice and roomy.
just depressing myself as got mtv on and nothing worse than watching skinny dancers with pert bums and flat tummies and high boobs to make a pregnant woman feel like shit! really must start doing my pilates again......hope everyone is well

ClaireDB · 14/12/2009 21:35

An early arrival:

My daughter Mira was born on Thursday 10th December 1:47am at 36 weeks+5 days!! She weighed 5lb 11.5oz (2.6kg). Mother and baby fine.

She shot out like a rocket - labour was 2 hour 19 min, which is a bit quick for a first baby!

If I had time to read the thread I would know if I was the first!

Gotta go, duty calls!!...

lilacpink · 14/12/2009 21:58

Many congrats ClaireDB, glad to hear Mira is a good weight and you're both well.

Super fast time too - think you may have set the record there!

Mama2b5 · 14/12/2009 21:59

Hi have not much to report just want to have an excuse to use the christmas icons - here we go -

CTOFN- hang on in there so baby can be born on my bday!

Devo - how did your test go? ( my due date buddie)

DH is feeling very anxious about baby coming he's so excited - had god daughter here holding her and seeing how much shes growing is making me well ermm broody if thats what you call it! im nesting and want things sorted before the 1st jan 2010!

Sixmincepiessoontobeseven · 14/12/2009 22:00

Congratulations claredb I believe your the 3rd but cant and lottie and WMBD are imminent.

Well I've been to hosp, appointment at 10.30 got home 4.30 nothing to eat or drink all day, crazy I know. Anyway had speculum and waters not gone, so leaking???? Had trace done for an hour babys heartbeat good tightenings registered 5 in half an hour, two really strong and painful, 3 manageable. So sent for scan to check liqour volume, all well and got to see baby again yah . did have 2 awful dizzy spells while laying on back being scanned, probably due to no food no drink and being on back. Managed to get home and attend rainbows xmas party, have had a bath and am having painful tightenings about every half an hour.

Baby is 3/5ths down so really can go anytime. 35+2 and estimated at 6lb 8oz. have a half packed bag and a pigsty for a house but what will be will be.

bethoo pilates is the last thing on my mind, with the day i've had my chippy tea is calling me but am a bit apprehensive about have it incase I go tonight.

Hope everyone else is okay, with pg or personal issues.

Happy birthing/section vibes to all who need them

lilacpink · 14/12/2009 22:01

Sorry, should have said, if I'm up-to-date you're the third on this Jan thread, but I'm not certain of the other dates. There could well be a few more arriving shortly

quirkychick · 14/12/2009 22:01

ClaireDB massive congratulations! I wouldn't complain about a quick labour if I were you.

But no, you're not the first!

OMG I definitely do not want this baby before Christmas.

crumpette my mw said how the estimated weights were really not very accurate as she'd had one mummy who had been scanned and had the baby 2 days later much heavier than predicted.

Mine says about 4lbs at last scan 32wks, I think.

Sixmincepiessoontobeseven · 14/12/2009 22:03

Sorry just skimmed reading, mistletoe thanks for your post.

Hope you driving test went well devotion

Mama2b5 · 14/12/2009 22:21

Cross posts had it on screen for ages before pressed post!

Congrats - Claire -welcome to the world Mira, although early not that much and i know all will be well. I know some babys go full term who are the same weight so 5lbs 5 oz is good! nice early Christmas and New year gift because i know you was due on the 1st Jan

sockmonkey · 15/12/2009 07:46

Congratulations clairedb and baby Mira. Glad you are both doing fine.
I am so keeping my fingers crossed that this one waits till after christmas Although no sign of being early anyway.
Baby has been extrodinarily quiet for the last couple of days... no night time disco. I just want to write that down so she will start to go bonkers again. I'm starting to worry a little bit.

Updated list with Claire DB's arrival below! Congrats Claire and welcome baby Mira!

Fraoch - yes I did get your email, thanks! Sorry, will reply today!

No further news from CTFN - will let you know if I hear anything.

WMDO and Lottie - thinking of you both!

Sixmince - glad to hear all is good with baby and fluid volumes are still good also. You must be relieved.

Hope everyone has good days!

mistletoekisses · 15/12/2009 08:11

Sockmonkey - I also meant to say, if bub has been quiet, please call your MW and go in for a trace. You should always get something like that checked out.

hurrydownthechimneytonight · 15/12/2009 08:18

wow another little arrival!!

Congrats Claire on little Miras birth and well done for such a speedy delivery!!

Judging by the amount od screaming and stress this baby has heard the last 24 hours i dont know how hes staying in! Movements are very strong though so i know hes fine!

Thought he was gonna pop out my bum last night the pressure was so intense driving over every bump! 5 weeks and 6 days till hes due!! yaayyyyyy midwife and ante natal classes today so busy bee!

Sock did you see the midwife about ur babies movements? x

Fraochsmum · 15/12/2009 08:23

Congratulations claire! Great news and a fab weight, I would love that sort of labour! I'm wolfing down the raspberry leaf tea and evening primrose oil to ensure it does
As I get bigger I'm getting increasingly annoyed at having to do so much when others stand around eg. walking along a long corridor to answer a door when there are 3 nimble teens standing there, or bending down to pick things up that others have dropped - and someone else standing beside me!! Admittedly when the last one happened yesterday, my colleague pointed out that the 2 men had far bigger stomachs than me And I seem to be still picking up everytime after the dogs (when we go out together). I have mentioned that it is difficult to breathe properly when bent double, but maybe I should just keep walking
Tomorrow maight be my last at work! It hasn't been approved yet though, but hopefully find out today if I finish then or next Wednesday - fingers crossed!

Fraochsmum · 15/12/2009 08:25

Oh I did mean to mention about your movements, how long has he been quiet for? Mine hardly moved on Saturday (and I was a bit concerned), but since then hasn't stopped.
