Must be a worrying time for you Ali, I hope Thomas feels better soon and will be sending lots of positive vibes.

flyingma · 13/12/2009 20:19

OMG it's taken me this long to catch up with all the drama that's gone on here.

London I hope that you've gone off to the hospital by now and that all's going well. In response to a post a while back, I am the same re cooking for long periods of time. My CTS comes after doing anything for a few minutes so cutting vegs up for batch cooking is a nightmare. I've also taken to sitting down on a bar stool doing prep.

Ali CONGRATS on the birth of the bubs. Hope all's well with both you and baby Jacob.

I know what ppl are saying re nesting and getting organized. Sending out nesting vibes to those who can't find the energy or motivation to do it. Despite the drama going on here, let's not forget that most of us aren't due to another few weeks yet.

I am getting some things done but everything is happening a lot slower than I had planned. We travelled back to Reading on Friday for a Xmas party with work and with friends. I still have Xmas cakes feeding which were meant to be my Xmas card cum Xmas presents to my friends. I did not remember them till DH presented me with all the Xmas cards from our friends - a full house, except a card from us. ARGH. I blame my PG brain - I have the cakes all made from over a month ago but kept forgetting to feed them.

What I am trying to say is, don't stress out too much re getting stuff done. Make a list and slowly work through them. We can't work as efficiently as we did before but we can still do the bits we need to in our own time. Don't beat yourself up too much as "putting your feet up" should be on that list too!!

xx

Hi guys - text update from this afternoon from CTFN. Only just checked my phone!
She has been admitted to hospital for observation, think her little one will be with us this week!

devotion · 13/12/2009 21:12

Oh my! I can not believe this will be number three and we're not even half way through December!

Good luck CTFN - sending postive vibes your way and look forward to hearing all about it.

I wonder if other threads have this many early babies?

Can anyone tell me why Ali had to be induced?

sazlocks · 13/12/2009 21:25

Lottie have you been to hospital for check up?
hope everyone is well and feeling up to the task ahead as i know there are a few with ailments, lets hope everyone is 100% when it happens xx

quirkychick · 13/12/2009 21:59

alibobins congratulations and hope lo gets better soon, lots of {{{{{hugs}}}}}}

lottie good luck at hospital it is important to be checked out especially if you are a complicated pg

CTFN hope the hospital sort it all out for you hoping to hear about your baby soon

It's getting a bit exciting here! I keep telling my bump - not until after Christmas! Head not engaged when I saw mw on fri.

Regarding mws, I have been really lucky this time. I have seen the same senior mw every time at the surgery. She is the same mw who I mostly saw last time and who sent me up to the hospital with severe pre-eclampsia with dd so she knows me and my history well. She keeps telling me I am doing well with the injections (heparin) and have taken on a lot with another pg, which is nice to hear. She has gone out of her way to see me weekly as she normally has a clinic only every 2 wks. But I agree it varies with mw care. I wish I could take her with me into hospital!

lottie ((big hugs)) and sending you lots of positive contractions vibes. Breathe through them, keep mobile and consider anything they offer you! xx

LOL @ Saz - have emailed my details so hopefully they should be with you soon. Perhaps we can buddy up. When are you due again?

Love and more positive vibes to CToFN... was someone else in labour too that I have missed off?

Laura233 · 14/12/2009 01:45

Hi all,

Strange questions, I am due on 24th Jan... how many weeks does that make me??

I have been counting it so that I am now 34 weeks, but some websites count me as 35 some as 34... so not sure how advanced I am in weeks.

Also, just wondering what the earliest is you can realistically have the baby and it be normal and healthy... I am having nightmares about having her premature and her not being ok and having to stay in hospital for ages... I think I am just having really bad nightmares at the moment through anxiety but any info would be appreciated...

Thanks, Laura

whensmydayoff · 14/12/2009 03:12

laura233 37 weeks is full term. Even at 34 your baby would most probably be fine. Look at wee Thomas at 33+4 - wasn't it.

Yes, note time!! Im just going to spraf alot of mince to take mind off contractions so feel free not to read following rubbish!

Been woken up with contractions. Not timing them as they don't seem that close but too uncomfortable lying down when they happen.

Thats been 24 hours now, since my waters went and according to hypnobirthing manual , 50% of labours start after waters release - ooooh scared!!!

What is slightly more uncomfortable than these contractions at the mo, is swallowing - throat is swollen and I sound like the godfather!

Is it too late to go round to that horrid so called friend who gave my DS and I this virus and tummy bugs to boot?
Doc said stomach bugs and chest Inf can be enough to put someone into early labour.

I have to let go of the anger now but so many times this week I have wanted to phone her and tell her what she has put us all through this week by being selfish enough to meet me with her and twins so ill when I was 35 weeks PG

and breathe!!

I just hope don't end up to weak to manage this VBAC as i feeling lousy.

Q) Im worried when new born arrives - will it not catch my virus with me coughing a spluttering all over him/her?? Would that not be dangerous to early newborn? Or would it have antibodies or something?

Ooh I need sleep!

On a brighter note (miserable cow im being this week on here) my mum took up knitting last few months. Loads of beautiful hats and cardi's and she accidentally did them for tiny baby instead of new baby. She was devastated.

HOW HANDY - they will all fit now. Would it be wrong to phone her at 3am to point this out !!

Ive had 2 contractions whilst drivelling on this post - maybe better time them now - gulp!

Right CTFN, can we get ours out before Lottie (im in no hurry, feel free to go first, ha)!

mistletoekisses · 14/12/2009 07:45

Morning all

Will text CTFN later this morning and let her know you are all sending her positive vibes! If I hear anything, will let you all know!

Sixmince - good luck at your check up today. Lets hope they dont decide you are ready to go too!

FLyingma - got your email. thanks!

Lottie - am so glad you went to the hospital! Keep us updated! You are in very safe hands, so you and your LO's will be fine!

Laura - by my calcs you are 34+1. Please dont worry. There definitely were not this many early babies on my last thread. But I would also say that once you hit that 32 week mark, you are into what a lot of people like to think of as 'safer' territory. I do wonder if the time of year as got something to do with it. There are a lot more infections doing the rounds; and a few people on here have said that infections can make the waters break. So who knows! Either way, relax, none of us have any control as to when our LO's are going to join us!

WMDO - This may not help, but once this is all over, I would have firm words with that stupid woman! And explain (calmly) the impact of her lack of responsibility. How else will the stupid woman ever learn! Some people simply dont think things through!

Re. the antibodies to the baby - am not sure what your plans re. feeding the baby are. But if you breastfeed, the antibodies from your body will already be present in your colustrum/ breastmilk - so if you breastfeed, it will protect your LO.HTH

to everyone else.

shinybaubles · 14/12/2009 07:45

Wow good luck to CTFN, Lottie and wmdo. So many babies on the way .

Lottie I have heard that a show can be bloody it is normal, it was on a bit of paper from my gynae. You will cope perfectly with your babies.

Well I had an hour of rather breath taking contractions last night which led to a rather panicked dh saying what do we do now - lol?

mistletoekisses · 14/12/2009 07:46

Xpost shiny - you too! Have the contractions stopped?

shinybaubles · 14/12/2009 07:53

Yes thankgod as much as I want the baby out I am so tired at the moment. What was that email address mistletoekisses ?

sockmonkey · 14/12/2009 07:55

Ali Hope little Jacob is doing better today & can soon come home.

lottie Good luck today! I'm sure everything will go swimmingly.

All of you having contractions - sending happy vibes.

Laura from 29 weeks baby has a 90% chance of survival, and that increases as time goes on! I'm sure all will be fine, even if you had baby now.

WRT midwifes, With DS1 I saw the same one the whole way through - but she wasn't there for labour as she was off at Nebworth watching Robbie Williams . With DS2 it seemed like a different one every appt. This time it's been same MW every time. I guess it's just the luck of thr draw.

Mama2b5 · 14/12/2009 09:06

hi all -

woke up this morning thinking has another baby come during the nite?

Ali - praying that lil Jacob will be 100% soon.

lottie- hope all is well with you.

CTOFN - How are things goin?

wmdo - how are you, hope all is goin well even though your feeling so rough!

MK- no more luck on the buggy front, driving me mad talked my DH out of the "stokke" and now left with no more options - oh well it will work itself out!

oh well at this rate we will def have to rename thread to include Dec born babies which may be more then we expected!
My DH wouldnt mind baby coming in ermm 2 days which would be my bday! hahahahah yeh right!

quirkychick · 14/12/2009 10:15

Lottie thinking of you today, when I had dd I was sent up to delivery suite with PE and one of the dr's said we have to deliver this baby straight away, ie with c-section. It really freaked me out tbh. However, with lots of attempts at induction (which I won't go into ) once they had decided to do c-s I was mightily relieved and the procedure was very calm. Once I had dd in my arms I was overwhelmed with how I felt about my baby. All concerns swept aside. Your babies will be gorgeous and it is normal to feel how you do now. You will be fine.

Ali hope Jacob is feeling better

Anyone else with early labour signs wishing you all well.

Biccy · 14/12/2009 11:19

Laura, we are due date buddies. We hit '34 weeks pregnant' yesterday, so we are in our 35th week.

Thinking of all of you in labour, and of you Alibobins.

hurrydownthechimneytonight · 14/12/2009 11:24

Gosh ladies i go offline for 2 days and missed 4 pages at least!

ali I hope little Jacob is recovering well now and feeding!

Lottie Fingers crossed for you this morning and hope you wikll be holding your little girls in your arms tody!

ctofn well hows things with you are you still in hospital?

Ok am sorry if I missed someone of the list! Hope everyone is feeling good and not getting to stressed in the leadup to christmas, Things have been put into perspective for us this last few days we got notice on our flat for rent arrears so are concentrating on clearing the rent, only kids will be getting a pressie £5 each maximum and i told dh we dont need to spend tonnes of money on food for the 2 of us over christmas! People in the family will have to understand.

6 weeks to go, still lots of movement reular hiccups from the little man and dh rested his head on my belly last night to chill out and ended up getting booted and rolled on for about half an hour non stop! lol

Ok sleeping question here a second..... how many of you have been waking up on their backs?? I am and woke worrying this morning might have to put pillow behind me to stop me rolling over its so comfy for me though!!

will endevour to check this thread every couple hours as miss out on so much not checking!!

x

bethoo · 14/12/2009 12:39

i know they say that after a certain week you shoudl avoid sleeping on your back but tbh that is how i sleep though propped up on pillows to reduce the bloody heartburn!
off to mw today to see if bump has grown though personally i may have gained 10cm alone since last week as feeling so bulbous and waddling everywhere! baby is having strong movements and i seem to get alot of BH whilst in bed which are bloody painful and then i panic since got no idea how to get to hospital and who will have the kids!
Told dp in a text that i would no longer be in touch and typical he sent one back to get me to bite and respond but then i thought oh hell cant be bothered anymore with this so left it at that, he always likes to get the last word!
so hope everyone is ok and looks like there may be more dec babies than jan babies! mine is due on 3 jan so i would have thought i would have had a dec baby! oh never mind!

Hello.. wow! we will need another thread soon

lottie any babies yet? if you can read this, good luck, you will be fine. Can't wait to hear about your little girls.

alibobins so sorry to read about Jacob, keep us updated when you can. Sending strong baby vibes your way and hope you can both go home soon.

CTOFN/WMDO ---- any news??

As for me, no news at all! I bet I will be one of the last, had a scan and baby is pretty squashed in there (he looked rather annoyed!) not engaged or anything- is it true that 2nd babies don't engage until labour is imminent? I have to have another scan next week as placenta is 'grade 3' and there is reduced flow to baby but he was guesstimated to already weigh 6lb 10oz yikes so I'm not really too concerned about his growth!

hurrydownthechimneytonight · 14/12/2009 15:51

6lb 10 already crumpette whats his due date!!??

crumpette · 14/12/2009 15:59

Hello- artist formerly known as iateallthecreameggsyummy? due date is 6th January which makes me, um, 36+5 I think.

Scary!!! DD didn't weigh that at 40 weeks!!

The hilarious thing is that with my 'poor history' they wanted me to have regular growth scans because they thought there was a chance this one would have IUGR or some restricted growth at least... pah! Yeah right he will be a sumo wrestler! I'm kind of hoping he arrives before he gets too big.....!
