Even bought an expensive clearblue digital test to be sure!

My DD will be 1st September 2010 and this will be my 2nd baby. My DS was 2 weeks late so will def be September not August!!!

Good morning everyone!

Hope no-one is feeling to sick and if they are, I hope it passes quickly

Bellepink - Im in the same boat as you. I havn't told family and not planning to until 12 weeks or thereabouts. Its hard to keep the secret but I'm trying!

Last time I told them early and my dad and father-in-law went round telling everyone that would listen...they were so excited!

Dirtgirl · 12/01/2010 08:55

Morning all. It is quite exciting at this stage having lots of people find out and join the thread.

So after my positive test yesterday, I've had a chance to let the news sink in. Funny how I felt normal yesterday morning and now I'm very conscious of pregnancy symptoms.

Not quite feeling sick yet, but I think it might be on the horizon if it goes the same way as last time.

I've told my mum, I couldn't resist.

Eleanora · 12/01/2010 09:48

Hi all,

Congrats to all the new BFPs! And hi to Whiteroses - great to see you on here.

Well I don't have many symptoms yet. No nausea but do feel a slight stretching feeling in abdomen, also am quite emotional (but that might just be normal!)

Went to dr on Friday who told me to pick a maternity unit so went on a tour round a local one on Sat with DH. Felt a bit silly as all the other women on the tour looked very pregnant... It's making it all seem very real now and it's killing me not telling anyone. bloominnorah - am impressed with your restraint!

NovemberAli · 12/01/2010 11:15

Hey Whiteroses

Hello all new peoples

I have been feeling pretty nauseous in the mornings, about an hour after eating, but manage not to actually be sick yet, hoping this will be as bad as it get

Also am v tired but this is not surprising seeing as I've been getting up at 4am every morning to go to the loo!

Stickhasgrownup · 12/01/2010 12:53

Hello Everyone... we are getting busy now!

I've been to see the dr today and was basically told to ring the midwife unit... so why they needed me to drag my nausious self into the surgery I don't know!
Now have a booking-in appointment with the midwife next monday... so thats exciting!
Funny though as will only be 7 1/2 weeks and didn't get one when I was preg with dd until 16 weeks! Obviously I was in a baby boom last time round and things are quiet here just now!

Hopefully - I hope all is ok with you and good luck with the scan.

redllamayellowllama · 12/01/2010 12:54

Can I join please? Have decided to finally believe it after my 4th BFP. This will be my second and should be due around the 17th. How exciting!

Congratulations to everyone already on here.

GrumpyFish · 12/01/2010 19:37

Hello everyone, can I join you please? Finally got a BFP on a CB digi this morning, although AF now 4 days late and even First Response was negative until yesterday. But feeling very pregnant!

Due on the the 18th (although will be elective CS a bit before that), already have a 17 month old DS.

redllamayellowllama · 12/01/2010 19:45

GrumpyFish I had exactly the same thing. I've known I was pregnant for 2 weeks, but was testing negative up until 4 days ago. Infuriating, eh?

I also have a 14 month old DS.

GrumpyFish · 12/01/2010 20:13

redllama glad to hear it's not just me, was beginning to think I was a real scientific oddity! don't suppose you are breastfeeding? i just stopped a couple of weeks ago and wondered if the hormones were somehow still kicking about and affecting the test?

redllamayellowllama · 12/01/2010 20:33

No, I stopped a couple of months ago, although have only had one period between now and then. Think that rules me out hormones-wise, but that could well be a reason for you.

Curlylox · 12/01/2010 20:35

It's such a relief to come on here to share my news and see how others are getting on. As we're not telling anyone the good news until after 12 week scan (nuchal) and blood tests for abnormalities, quite aware of this at this early stage due to my age. Also that's if I'm not showing of course too. On the other hand still can't grasp the fact that I'm pregnant. Symptoms so far is period type pains, sore boobs on and off and a little tired.....but I'm always tired to be fair. Have been smiling to myself all day...sigh

bloominnorah · 12/01/2010 20:39

Congrats everyone,

Yes its nice to be able to talk about it here..I know I said I'd wait till after 12 weeks but feel like I should get my mouth zipped up just incase I blurt out the good news!

bloominnorah · 12/01/2010 20:40

Whoops! see there you go...in my excitement I posted twice!

Stickhasgrownup · 13/01/2010 10:01

Welcome to those who've just joined us
I feel soooooooo siiiiickkkkkk.
Thankgoodness dd is at nursery this morning as I'm heading off to bed for a nap shortly!
I'm only just coming up to 7 weeks and if this is anything like previous pregnancies I have another 16 weeks of this.... please, please let this sickness stop earlier this time
How are the rest of you?

bloominnorah · 13/01/2010 10:34

No sickness for me yet, slightly nauseous this morning but Im only coming up for 5 weeks. Just been to A&E with DS because he sooked a bit of paper up his nose! Thankfully the nurse managed to get it out.

foxyjbro99 · 13/01/2010 11:58

Very sick too stickhasgrownup!! kids off school too & want to got sledging

7 weeks today, it's going sooooo slowly!

Got early scan booked for a week on mon.

redllamayellowllama · 13/01/2010 13:04

Sympathise with you on the sickness front - none here yet, but slight waves of nausea makes me think I'm not going to escape it this time round.

Stuck in with DS today due to the weather, which is only a good thing as my biggest symptom to date is appalling wind. Awful.

mcfee · 13/01/2010 16:50

Hi, can I join? Had scan at EPU today due to
various problems & previous MC but all looks OK. Scan showed 7+1 which means EDD of 31st August but realistically looking at September I think!

Yeah Inzidoodle, he is fine. In fact, I think he almost enjoyed it..even getting tweezers up his nose! He practically ran into the hospital..he was sooo excited.

And I'm having another one...hehe, I must be mad!

Stickhasgrownup · 14/01/2010 10:01

IrishGal1 - The only thing some people don't realise is that it is internal... so be prepaired for that!

I was actually sick for the first time today. but now sitting drinking flat lemonade and feeling better... so so far I think I'm not quite as bad as when I had dd. May mean another boy as I wasn't so sick first time around with ds. (although me not being so sick is still severe for most! Just kept nothing down with dd whereas with ds I felt sick without always being sick).
I wonder if it will be a boy...

Swordfishtrombones · 14/01/2010 11:14

Morning! I had my doctor's appointment today so it's all feeling more official. They have given me a massive pile of paperwork to fill in and booked me in for my homebirth .

I should get a midwife appt and a scan appt sent through soon which is exciting.

I am feeling so sick from lunchtime onwards, and evenings are particularly bad. I do find ginger things are good. I've bought some of that really fiery ginger drink that you dilute with sparkling water, and that really helps. Also ginger mint tea in the evenings.

Is anyone getting the swine flu jab? I can't decide.

Maitri · 14/01/2010 12:38

Had a total meltdown last evening with dh - lots of tears and "I don't know if I want this baby" (that was me, dh just looked on, nodded sagely and held my hand). I know it's just the hormones as I feel much better today. I'm also incredibly tired as I have two much older children who have been at home for ages due to the snow which has meant wet clothes, lots of meals and later-than-normal bedtimes. All the impracticalities of having a baby flooded through me last night - even in my "sane" moments I'm hard pressed to come up with an answer to the question "Why am I having another baby?"! - Does that make sense to anyone? The only explanation I can give is that I love the dynamic of three children (I'm one of three) and I want to have just one more shot of it before the menopause hits in a few years' time.

Stick - interesting that you mention sickness with ds and dd; I'm convinced I'm having a boy as am only feeling slightly sick and when pregnant with ds I had a few moments of sickness but generally hardly noticed that I was pregnant. Pregnancy with dd was ENTIRELY DIFFERENT!!
