So sorry, CLB1 and Gi1da. Wishing you both all the best.

How are the rest of you lot doing today?

rainbowdays · 14/02/2010 22:25

CLB1 and Gi1da - Sorry to hear about your losses, it is not easy, and I hope that you are both getting extra tlc today.

Despite having had a scan last week and seeing the heartbeat, I am still anxious about this pregnancy, previous m/c's mean that I can't relax yet. But I just have to keep hoping and praying that this time, this baby will make it.

How are most peoples symptoms now?

JodeyLea · 14/02/2010 23:24

So sorry CLB1 & Gi1da. Take care of your self both of you.

It is so true about not taking anything for granted. Thoughts are with you both x x x

Love2Dance · 14/02/2010 23:43

Gi1da, just logged on. I'm realy sorry. This may not be much comfort to you and CLB1 right now, but you know you can conceive, so there's hope for the future. The MC threads on here are some help. Hope you and your DP can have some space to grieve and be kind to yourselves. Hope to see you on another pregnancy thread in a few months' time. x

Jaysfourth · 15/02/2010 08:58

Hi all

Gi1da, sorry to hear your news also, i echo everyones sentiments, please take care of yourself x

Things here have been terrible, we have been struck down with some kind of gastro bug. Its been on and off for about three weeks now, seems to be passing round kids and two days ago struck me. OMG such bad diarrhea and sickness, my eldest and i had to take to bed in the afternoon, we were both so ill... youngest has it but he has a bad cough and cold also. This is the third day i havent eaten, only just holding in the water i am sipping. Not sure how it might be affecting the baby, i read that your body takes twice the strain as its fighting off the virus AND still looking after the baby...it feels like that aswell!
I dont want to lug us all down to the docs, as i know they cant do anything, but does anyone have any ideas or experiences in this kinda thing? we are all so miserable

See i can have a rant and moan too!

popsy1 · 15/02/2010 09:17

So very sorry gilda. I hope you are taking care of yourself. Look after yourself hun. Thinking of you.

I'm also a nervous wreck. I have my early scan today so I'm praying everything will be going well.

Xx

popsy1 and inzidoodle, good luck with scans, let us know how they go

seems like a total tele day today, 1,2 and 4 yr old to amuse while feeling like shite myself

re runs of peppa dora and humf will have to do !

Swordfishtrombones · 15/02/2010 10:27

So sorry to hear your sad news CLB1 and G1lda. Take care of yourselves.

Good luck Popsy1 and inzidoodle - keep us posted! My scan is wednesday and I can't wait.

Jaysfourth - go with the telly option. Hooray for Saint Justin of CBeebies . You could always phone NHS Direct if you are worried, but as long as you are managing to hold down some water then I'm sure you and your baby will be fine. I hate those D&V bugs though. Hope you feel better soon.

We've started the half term in quarantine with DD2 covered in chicken pox. Feb half term really is the most miserable holiday week ever. I was full of plans of the cinema, swimming etc and now I have to keep a 3 and 4 year old occupied without leaving the house. ho hum. Thank god for online grocery shopping.

Symptomswise I do think my sickness is clearing a bit. I managed to stay up until 10pm yesterday for the first time in ages as normally I feel too sick. I am looking forward to some energy returning for the second trimester (when does that start? is it from 13 or 14 weeks? can never remember!)

popsy1 · 15/02/2010 11:55

Good luck for you as well inzidoodle. My symptoms have improved as well. I have only got heavy sore boobs and tiredness. I haven't been sick since saturday! How many weeks are you? I am approx 8wks.

Hoping everyone is feeling well

xxx

LadyRabbit · 15/02/2010 12:18

Just logged on to this thread after a while. Oh my.
CLB1 and G1lda, my heart goes out to you both. So sorry to hear what has happened. Hope you're both being taken good care of. Really, really feel for you. xx

Good luck ladies having scans today.

Is anyone having a one day on/one day off thing with the nausea? I was sick as a dog on Thursday, spent most of Friday unable to move and then had a fantastic Saturday, and useless yesterday. Feel great today. Is this normal? I tend to panic a bit about the slightest change coz of my pregnancy history so please tell me off if I'm being paranoid. Still bloody exhausted all the time. I must be sending out exhaustion pheromones coz DH (usually the human dynamo) is sleeping 10hrs a night too.

I read somewhere that morning sickness peaks around 9 weeks (which I am) - can anyone confirm this?
Bring on the second trimester; I dunno about glossy hair and all that, I think mine's going to fall out from worry by the time I get there!!

Stay well all. x

Big hugs to ((((CLB1 and G1lda)))

What a lovely supportive thread this is.

Love2Dance · 15/02/2010 13:24

I have decided to have an early scan. I don't have tons of £ to spare but I really want to allay my anxieties after the last MC and I don't want to be working away from home and worrying for the next 3 weeks. I managed to get an appointment this afternoon. Fingers crossed. Will look out for Popsy1 and Inzidoodle's results and let you know mine later too.

Swordfishtrombones · 15/02/2010 13:29

Hope your scan goes well Love2Dance.

I'm busy sorting out someone to look after DD2 for when I have my scan on wednesday. Her chickenpox might well not be infectious by wednesday, but I don't think a spotty poxy looking 3 year old will be very welcome in antenatal waiting room!

coppertop · 15/02/2010 15:01

Jaysfourth - Hope you're all feeling much better asap.

LadyRabbit - I feel sick a lot of the time but seem to feel it less if it's been a particularly busy day. The downside though is that on busy days I feel ten times as exhausted. I can't win.

Good luck to those of you who are having scans.

I've finally had my booking-in appointment. I think the receptionist I spoke to must have made a mistake about it usually being at 10wks because the MW was keen to fit me in as soon as possible (I'm 8+4). I had some early blood tests because of having bigger babies and a tendency to become anaemic.

My dating scan and NT scan will be in 3wks time. It feels as though I'm miles behind the rest of you!

Great news inzidoodle. Are you going to stay on this thread?

I had my viability scan today and all looks ok. I breathed a huge sigh of releif when I heard and saw the heartbeat. Next stage is the NT scan and combined test. One step at a time. My new EDD is 15th September. Have changed the list:

Been a funny few days. DH persuaded me to go out on Saturday night (to a club, would you believe it?!). I had been doing work at home Saturday, daytime, so it was really nice to have a good old dance. I am very fussy about my music and this was a night which isn't on all the time.

If anyone has to do a night out I recommend a banana and a packet of crisps just before you go. Cranberry juice and water kept me hydrated. I kept getting hot when dancing and had to keep having breaks but I had fun. Amazingly, there didn't seem to be that many gurning, messy types, although DH did say there was a long line up in the gents for the one cubicle .

Boy, was I tired the next day. Spent Sunday at a memorial service for a friend's dad who recently passed away. Although most of it was not in English I'm glad I went and I thought it was a moving and not wholly glum occasion. My friend and his family were really pleased to see a good turn out.

And here we are on Monday again...

Only a week left before I have to go away for work. Not looking forward to being away from DS and DH. P'raps I should look at it as a chance to do my own thing and have a massage or some such one evening.

Enjoy the half term, those of you who are on hols!

So sorry to to hear about G1lda and CLB. It's strange how much your heart goes out to people you've not met before - I've only been reading this thread for a couple of months but feel strangely connected with you all - it's such a lovely resource and network to have.

Upsoearly I had exactly the same experience - 7wks of intense nausea and exhaustion and then woke up one day last week (I would have been 10wks something) and had absolutely no symptoms at all, felt full of the joys of spring, was singing and getting loads of work done until the thought of 'oh my god, it's too sudden, there's something wrong' hit me! But after some research and some kind words from others on a different thread I was reassured and made the most of not feeling sick which was a good thing because after 3 days it was back with a vengeance!!

I'm really hoping for another respite from the nausea/exhaustion this week as my sister is coming down tomorrow with her 3 kids for half term. She's had an awful year so I've booked her into a hotel with her partner for 2 nights and am looking after my nieces and nephew (7,5 & 14 months). I've looked after the older 2 without their mum a few times but not the youngest one. Reckon I'm a big glutton for punishment. They're great kids but I've hardly been able to drag myself out of bed the last 2 days!!
Wish me luck!!

Got the a date for the Nucheal/dating scan but it's not for another 2.5 wks - I'll be over 13wks by then. I've been focussing on this magic 12wks that we can tell everyone and then to wait another 9 whole days is torture!! I think I might burst! It's so great have you lot to offload to

foxyjbro99 · 16/02/2010 09:26

Congratulations on your scans
I've got my dating scan today & have decided to pay for the nuchal scan, that's on Friday.
Still feeling sick though, so hoping that will disappear soon.
