OMG , am i pregnant or what.......

i meant Katty!!!

designerjooles · 28/01/2010 20:54

foxyjbro99 - don't you worry about any silly people that come to your door. You know in yourself that you got it all good - one blessing already - and another on the way.
Its mega tough to keep positive - i'm having a bad day today and haven't been able to get off the couch. So we are all in the same boat - and hear to listen for when you need to talk.

LadyRabbit · 28/01/2010 21:04

Aw, thanks Jaysfourth. Good to know it's normal to be a bit loony at this stage in pregnancy Erm, no, twins are not a dream of mine - although DH would love it, probably because he wouldn't have to carry them around for 9 months. I'll just be happy to see one healthy bean tmrw.

foxyjbro99 don't stress about the gypsy lady. Reckon she does that to anyone who doesn't buy her stuff. However, you said something about this stage being worse than giving birth. Really??! I'm gonna remember that one... I'm going to hope that's true..

Jaysfourth · 28/01/2010 21:09

Shush......... i love birth.........shush!!!

MammyG · 28/01/2010 21:59

Twins in my family on both sides. Was disappointed in both pregnancies! This will be my last pregnancy me thinks and early scan last week showed one sac so most likely not twins now either! And again was a little disappointed. The crazy part is I would probably crack up with my two loons and two small babies! Also think my hubbie would run for the hills! Bless him.

Non-identical twins are the ones the hereditary ones as a womans ability to produce two eggs at once is passed from mother to daughter. Identical twins are a 'fluke' as the egg splits in two. - little trivia for ye there!

So want to quit job and do nothing but lounge in dressing gown with hot water bottle! What are the chances???

OhFuck · 29/01/2010 12:24

So that's me registered and got my booking in appointment sorted for a couple of weeks' time. And I've just found out that DP's sis is also expecting, at exactly the same time as me! His mum must be about to burst with excitement! I shall be directing her here!

I barely had any morning sickness last time, aside from having a slight wave of nausea occasionally (when I was driving usually - weird). But this time I have already been feeling queasy for no apparent reason. Crossing my fingers that's as bad as it gets.

Jaysfourth · 29/01/2010 12:32

well done OH, the ball is well and truely rolling Nice to think you have someone to share your pregnancy with!

Can those with three or more kids or anyone with the experience, tell me what kind of car they have? We currently have a Freelander and were going to upgrade this year to the Discovery, but it would be just good to get others opinions on 7seaters.....4x4 and MPV's

Just about to go to see MW for first time, hoping she might be able to book me in for scan while i am there, they did it last time like that , but have a feeling i am going to have to come away and wait for appointment, ho hum!

How are people feeling today? my nausea has subsided somewhat, rather than it being constant it now comes in waves, although that could be at any time of the day!

A friend of mine had her baby yesterday 41 hours of labour for an ickle 5lber. Havnt seen it yet but am led to believe its TINY

Catch you all later x

lillyfc · 29/01/2010 14:21

Wow, haven't had a chance to look at the thread for ages and there are so many more people here!! Congratulations everyone...

Jaysfourth we have a Ford S-MAX. Definately not my dream car (!!)but great with 3 kids although when the back 2 seats are up the boot is tiny. I'm also expecting #4 so think we will have to get something bigger or I'll never have room for all the kids and buggy!!

I'm 9 weeks now and still feel sick but seems to be worse in evening, think it's worse when I'm tired. Work has been really stressful as well the last few weeks so hoping it won't have any effect on pregnancy.

There are twins in my family as well so keeping my fingers crossed I will only have the one this time again, don't think I could cope with 5 in total!! xx

Love2Dance · 29/01/2010 14:39

Afternoon All,

Am supposed to be working at home but have achieved very little today. I cannot believe this ('cos it didn't happen last time) but am feeling a bit sick!! NOW I know what everyone was talking about. Still, it's not the worst kind of nausea.

MUST try and do some work. I have deadlines coming up but cannot seem to motivate myself unless it's to head for a nap or to the kitchen.

I really need to try and focus a bit: this morning I drove to delivery hospital today to do a reccie on travel time, bus routes and parking spaces (hardly any). How sad is that!

Anyone got any suggestions for...let's call it my methane problem? Has anyone else got this?!

Jaysfourth · 29/01/2010 14:49

I too am in the methane club... better out than in i say

MW ok, nothing new there, have to wait for paper work to generate scan date no early scan for me, even though i am unsure of dates! Never mind hey!
Two things though, she dated me at 6 weeks when i thought i was at least 7....(not much in it i know...but still) AND more importantly her scales are most definitely OUT, BY at least 10lbs!!!! thats my story and i am sticking to it ....

Lillyfc, nice to 'meet' another fourth timer how old are your others? what do you have? are we mad!!??
feet up time for an hour before have to go get the tribe from preschool/nursery

SkaterGrrrrl · 29/01/2010 16:31

Welcome designerjooles!

Re paranoia, we've decided not to tell our parents for another month. I'm nearly 34 and we just want to be super-sure when we tell them.

(I always swore I'd only annouce pregnancy after a scan... but we happen to be seeing both sets of parents round the 8 week mark and they will clock instantly that I am not drinking so that's when we'll do it).

bellabelly · 29/01/2010 17:10

skatergrrrl, couldn't you claim it's your new year's resolution? Or will they just see straight through that excuse?

Stickhasgrownup · 29/01/2010 17:17

Hi all,
Can't believe how our group is growing! Has taken me an age to catch up on all the posts!
I haven't managed to get online much lately as been feeling so shattered and yuk I can't face doing anything.
I'm now 9 weeks and praying it only lasts until the 12 weeks stage this time... does anyone recall when we start to feel less shattered? I seem to need a nap time everyday or I can't cope.

I had a dating scan on Tues, which put my EDD as 4th sept - but as my other two were early I think I'll leave it as the 2nd!
Unfortunately although I was 8w +3 I had to have the internal scan, but at least i got a good view of pebble.
There was a brief moment of panic when she thought that there was a second pregancy, outside of the womb, but she eventually decided it was a cyst!
I had worried about twins as they are in my family and I'm soooooo sick... but fortunately, for my sanity, that was not the case.

Next scan is on 25th Feb and booking in appointment is on the previous monday, so a bit of a wait now... but at least I have my scan pic to look at until then .

coppertop · 29/01/2010 17:21

ROFL at the methane. I don't know what you mean.

I've been meaning to get on and arrange an appointment with the MW but just haven't had the energy.

Nice to hear that everyone else's appointments are going well though.

lillyfc · 29/01/2010 18:21

Jaysfourth - I've got 2 boys and a girl aged 11, 8 & 1. Although we did discuss having a 4th we didn't exactly 'plan' to have another so soon.....!!! Still, looking forward to it (although maybe not all the washing!)

Stickhasgrownup - I know what you mean about being so tired, seem to fall asleep on the sofa as soon as the kids go to bed. Seem to remember feeling less tired by about 12 weeks last time so fingers crossed...Glad scan went ok!

I haven't seen midwife yet as she cancelled me this week (overbooking by receptionists!!) but going on Tues. She has requested scan for 12 weeks so should get date of that in post very soon.

Take care all. xx

JodeyLea · 29/01/2010 18:32

LOL!!!! I have had a lots of wind too! More of the burping kind though rather than the methane club.

As for sickness, I thought I may have a tummy bug as feel rough as old boots this evening! Can't stand the smell of food and feel so sick! So is it highly likely that it could just be evening sickness??

I left work an hour early today too as I felt wrecked!!! I'm not even 7 weeks yet!

Got my referal letter today to book in my scan! How exciting.

Agree coppertop, it's lovely to hear appointments and things are going well.

LadyRabbit · 29/01/2010 18:43

Hello (even more!) Ladies
Went for my early scan today and not only did I see the bean's heartbeat but heard it too!! Totally prepared for being disappointed/underwhelmed/doc not being able to see anything, but WOW. I am so happy. Everything measuring according to dates. Obviously there's a long way to go yet, but this is really positive news. Makes up for feeling pukey and narcoleptic all the time.

Adding myself to the list now.

I have lots of wind too - but it's something I'm generally prone to so can't blame the pregnancy unfortunately! Ah well. The constipation is a bit annoying but overall it could all be a lot worse.

MammyG · 29/01/2010 20:51

Hi all - am reading about everyones symptoms and a little annoyed at not having any of my own yet! I know I should be careful what I wish for and I am only 6 weeks but would be nice to feel pregnant!

jaysfourth 3 and 2yr old and almost 6ft teenager! we have a ford galaxy. I like it nice and reliable tho with all 7 seaters not much room for boot when last two seats are up. We usually leave on out and at the moment have a gap between the two young ones (which will be filled by the end of the year!) Once you head over 3 roof rack and box essential I think otherwise you would never manage long journeys.

Great to hear how everyone is doing - was just thinking how on earth did i get thru this phase of the last two pregnancies without MN?

MudandRoses · 29/01/2010 21:55

hi all, been quiet for a while, mainly through feeling permanently queasy
I have found that as long as i avoid being either hungry or full i am ok-ish. But that's bloody hard work and i'm just so tired of having to think about my stomach all the time. Will this end??? it's so crap.

designerjooles im in sussex too - in brighton.

Hope everyone else is feeling ok, or at least a bit better than me. Sorry for the moan!

Monstermuncher · 30/01/2010 12:12

Hi all,

Not been here for a while and it has gotten so busy, September is going to be one helluva month! I am just coming up to 9 weeks now, I haven't added myself to your v long list yet, as I am waiting for my scan first. Call me superstitious or maybe over anxious but part of me doesn't feel this is real yet, despite the nausea, tiredness etc. Hope everyone here is ok, I have been been a bit of a hermit the last few weeks but it's a sunny day in Glasgow today so I'm going to force myself to get out and about Have a great weekend September mums-to-be

Maitri · 30/01/2010 15:41

Um, this is a quiet post as I hope I'm not digging up any bad news. Does anyone know whether the original poster PDR is still on the September bus?

bloominnorah · 30/01/2010 16:25

Had a look at one of the earlier posts and PDR seemed to have her EDD wrong - she was really 30th July so maybe that's why we not heard from her again?
