Hello, need a moan!!! Am sooooooooooooooooo tired today, I haven't managed to get dressed yet and have watched far too much cbeebies with my 2 year old, she's deperate to go out but I just don't seem to be able to summon the energy, how on earth am I gonna manage a 12 hour shift at work tomorrow with an hour's commute each way on top?!
How do you give to your toddler when you feel so crappy? It was so easy with the first I could rest/sleep when I needed to, and this is just the beginning, how I am gonna manage two little ones?! Am having a meltdown panic...................................

Jaysfourth · 27/01/2010 13:53

Melly....have a melt down, watch tv, dont get dressed while you don't have to , it REALLY isn't that awful

Dont be pressured into feeling crap just because 'others' seem to be able to control it all...(if indeed thats how you are feeling, kinda assumed that bit) because EVERYONE and i mean EVERYONE, wonders how they will manage, how they will fit two, three or more kids in. How you will cope, how will you ever get out of bed, let alone out of the house? Well its all adjustment, and time. Take each day at a time, don't get bogged down with so many appointments that you feel you have to go to , don't commit to everything (obviously work to some degree, but that aside)

Its just down to living it and seeing that you CAN do whatever is it you think you can't do. Trust me, you will be fine

SkaterGrrrrl · 27/01/2010 13:55

Good news on the scan ArcticFox!

No advice Im afraid Melly, I feel absolutely shattered expecting no 1 so can only imagine those levels of tiredness with a 2 year old to entertain... hang in there and good luck!

OhFuck · 27/01/2010 14:24

Aw Jays, what a lovely post. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't worried a bit about how we'll cope with an active 3 year old and a newborn. Nice to hear something reassuring, because I am sure there will be old ladies queuing up to suck their false teeth and mutter things like "You'll have your hands full there, lass" before long!

designerjooles · 27/01/2010 15:02

Hi girls.
I would love to join the september list! This is thanks to Skatergrrrrl linking into another tread over on the pregnancy conversations - so thanks!

Designerjooles number1 EDD 04/09/10 Brighton

Anyone else down here in Sussex?

Congratulations to everyone...

Jaysfourth · 27/01/2010 15:59

welcome Designer, one thing always leads to another....thats how come we are all on this thread!!

OH, i am just feeling positive today, so to share my thoughts is a pleasure, there will be times when i feel like crap too!!

BTW i hope i didn't come across as being flippant re, 'trust me, it will be fine' i realise that it IS hard for a lot of people and it isnt always easy... but i wanted to just get across the point that no matter how shit we feel and how much we do doubt our abilities sometimes, we DO and WILL get through it, day by day, by whatever means is best for us

xx

bloominnorah · 27/01/2010 17:17

Hey mellymooks

Ive done nothing today except lie on the settee while my DS watched the tv. Barely managed to put the washing on and make the bed never mind anything else! Too sick to do anything and too tired to do anything!

Thankfully I don't have any work to go out to!

JodeyLea · 27/01/2010 17:25

Just got in from work! Am sooooooo tired! Had a shockingly shit night's sleep waking up at 4:30 and not being able to settle back down again till 6am, then had to get up for work at 6:30!!!!!!Aand now I have to take the dog for a walk in the cold dark night as DH has gone to the Villa game!! BBooo!!!

Sorrry guys! Just feeling a little tired and miserable today x x

mellymooks · 27/01/2010 17:42

Sounds like lots of us are feeling it today, thanks for all the kind words, that's why i love MN, you realise you're not alone

Think I will have the earliest night possible and hope I feel a bit brighter tomorrow.

Big hugs everyone xxx

Love2Dance · 27/01/2010 21:27

Early night sounds like a great idea. At least I would if I didn't have to digest the 3 helpings of supper and the bowl of Cornflakes I had 10 minutes ago!

MammyG · 27/01/2010 21:43

Well we are all feeling the same today so then!
Thanks jaysfourth!

Jodeylea - ditto on the nights sleep. Am managing until 3am then its just napping from there on out! And dont even mention the dog! Hubbie surprised us with a puppy week before I found out I was expecting so now trying to manage the 2 boys and toilet train the pup!

designerjooles & Articfox - congrats!

Melly & jbakedbean - OMG DS1 was only 9mth when I was pregnant with DS2. Had new job and BIG exam that year too - nearly lost my mind. Do what it takes to help you relax and rope in anyone that will help! Esp at this stage when symptoms are worst, towards the end other people are v helpful cause you are obviously pregnant. Just make sure you get time out and dont put yourself under pressure. The house and housework will always be there and all the martyrs are dead!

Had incident where I nearly let cat out of the bag. In hindsight what the woman said was totally innocent but me knowing I was pregnant nearly caused a slip up! as I live in tiny area cant afford anyone else knowing. Feel so weird - lying by ommision? Am no good at it anyway!

Jaysfourth · 28/01/2010 09:22

Morning all

found a 'spare' pregnancy test yesterday...the first response one with two lines showing pregnant. Thought, well go on i have no need to eep it, might as well do another test....

did it..... and one line showed up....... then very very very slowly the second one started to appear..... i nearly passed out lol. I am not used to those one, for all my pregnancies have used the one that shows a cross on it, i forget the name, so wasnt used to the 'waiting' for the two lines!

Then when i looed at how to read it properly, the first line that appears is actually the indicator for pregnancy , the second one is just the confirmation either way. In other words if its just the second line that appears you are not pregnant. So i neednt of worried anyway as the first one popped up instantly!

Thought i would share my comic moment with you

Anyone else have scans coming up? My physio, who i saw last night, has just discovered they are expecting twins and his wife is 8 weeks. Are there any twins in anyones families here?

Love2Dance · 28/01/2010 10:19

Hi All,

Jaysfourth DH and I each have twins some generations back. A friend of mine (already had boy and girl) had twins 3 years ago and it was a big shock. But it must be lovely too.

I have no idea when my scan will be. I have been given a booking in appointment at the hospital on 8th Feb but that's all. I really want to get first scan out the way just to see if my baby to be is alive and developing...

Jaysfourth · 28/01/2010 10:26

ooo! Lovetodance, you might be having twins then!!

i have no scan dates at all at the moment, will only be seeing my MW tomorrow for the first time. I need scan too, not for any other reason than to make it more real

LadyRabbit · 28/01/2010 12:54

Hello

Been busy at work so not able to check in. Great to see even more people joining the Sept baby extravaganza.
I've got morning sickness properly now, just about manage not to throw up but I spend half the day having to avoid food or anything that smells like it. Only problem is I have a bionic sense of smell at the moment... aargh!

We've got twins in our family - not mine, but DH's. His dad was one, and a cousin just had twins and describes the early months as being like single parents even though Mum and Dad are both hands on. But the babies are gorgeous and if you planned on just having two it's quite a handy way of doing it all in one go!
The whole reason I was posting is because I have my early scan tomorrow and was just thinking "what if they see two beans"? And then I logged onto this thread and now I'm having a that's-just-too-weird moment

Jaysfourth your test moment cracked me up. I'm thinking of making a wallhanging with all the ones I've done in the last few weeks!

ON another note, I've found myself getting worried about possible complications. I don't know if it's because I've only ever miscarried, but now my new fear is a baby with SN or serious health problems. AM I being irrational (please say I am), although at 35 I am an older first timer.

Fingers crossed I shall be adding myself to the list tomorrow evening. Really really hope so!!

Curlylox · 28/01/2010 12:54

Ok I'm slowly losing patience as wanting to get the ball rolling so to speak with MW, nucahl scan etc.. I believe I am 8 or 9 weeks pg, everyday I'm waiting for postie to deliver letter with appointment...nada
So my question when do you think "the letter" will arrive???? Oh please indulge me, it will keep be awake if nothing else as now am not back at work until Monday just want to sleep all day long

Curlylox · 28/01/2010 12:58

Erm meant nuchal of course

Jaysfourth · 28/01/2010 13:47

it will arrive tomorrow Curlylox

Jaysfourth · 28/01/2010 13:52

Ladyrabbit, good luck with scan tomorrow, not for twins in particular (unless its a dream of yours!) just in general

You are not being irrational, you are just being normal, i am on my fourth pregnancy with three healthy children to show for it. But you can bet i was as anxious with all of them as you are with yours! Once your scan has been done hopefully it will ease your mind a bit

Its funny, i have never re tested a pregnancy, it was only because i found this 'spare one' i thought i might as well 'use it up' !!

I have heard of others testing heaps of times though

I have, however, kept each of my positive tests, is that right, or should i just bin them now!!?

bellabelly · 28/01/2010 13:52

Curly - that is exactly how I am feeling - just want to get ON with it! My prediction is that your letter will arrive on Wednesday next week...

I have non-identical twins already, despite Dh and I having no family history of twins on either side. Am seriously considering taking out insurance just in case it happens again! Twins are fab but I must admit that I'm hoping for a singleton this time - haven't got room in my car for 4 kids!!!

Am still not really "feeling" pg but my trousers are already noticeably tighter and I'm only 5 weeks, I think! Bit worried I'm going to start showing really quickly and will have to tell work sooner than I'd ideally like to... Not a big deal but was hoping to keep it to myself until I've had a scan.

bellabelly · 28/01/2010 13:54

Jaysfourth - I have kept one from my previous pregnancy - glad I'm not the only one! I think it's nice butI suspect DH would think it ws a bit yucky if he knew

foxyjbro99 · 28/01/2010 14:50

hi everyone.
just had a gypsy knocking at the door trying to sell stuff, i said i had no money on me. feeling really bad now!!!! do you think she'll put some kind of curse on me?????????
she starting babbling on about babies, said i won't have many more!!!!!!! she said have you got a girl (pink pushchair in the hall) she said she can she a boy!!!!!!!!!!!! it was if she knew i was pg!!!!!!!! has she put a curse on me??????????

secondly, feeling rubbish. not so much sick as horrible taste in my mouth and extremely tired. can't cope with life in general at the moment.

imo this is the worst stage, worse than giving birth and worse than having a newborn to look after, so i'm just gonna try and focus on feeling better (only 3 weeks to go - hopefully....)

x

Curlylox · 28/01/2010 16:00

bellababy ooh I do hope you're right. As for twins a friend of mine is having non identical twins and as far as she knows there is no history of twins in her family or her DH. Age. Extract from Babyworld: Statistics from the National Statistics Online show that women in their late 30s are more likely to conceive twins.
Previous children. The chances of having twins increases with the number of children you already have.

StrictlyKatty · 28/01/2010 16:05

I was wondering if I could hang my hat here and in October

DC2 due on 25/09/10 but DS was a full 2 weeks late so more than likely October.

Jaysfourth · 28/01/2010 19:00

the more the merrier catty
