3 x BFP this morning!

Even bought an expensive clearblue digital test to be sure!

My DD will be 1st September 2010 and this will be my 2nd baby. My DS was 2 weeks late so will def be September not August!!!

Anyone else...?

How are we all feeling today?

I'm really really tired and floppy, with sore boobs, waves of nausea, bloating and constipation, and heartburn on and off. I feel like I want to sleep forever.

I'm glad that others are finding that reading up too much online can be a bad thing, I thought I was the only one. I ended up scaring myself silly with stories of miscarriages, chemical pregnancies, god knows what- last thing I needed. Never again! This is meant to be a happy, exciting time, not one filled with terror!

Hi all,
I went to the doc yesterday cos suspected I had a UTI and he gave me antibiotics to take. Also, yesterday morning, had the swine flu jab and arm is still really aching! Apparently should only last a couple of days though.. However, today I am feeling totally exhausted and really achy all over so have taken day off work. Think I also have trapped wind which isn't helping things! Feel a bit guilty cos hardly ever have sick days, but my husband encouraged me and I felt like total rubbish this morning..
Feeling bit better this afternoon though, and also received a letter from the hospital with date for blood tests and 1st scan (last week of feb and 1st week of march) so that cheered me up a lot!
How is everyone else doing??

Im feeling very sick today but so far have managed to stop myself...just gagging alot especially when having to wipe DS bottom!(tmi I know).

Looks like everyone having the same symptoms so it makes me feel a bit better

Boostar - yes I avoided toddlers today as am usually expected to help out and carry things etc...to be honest just couldnt face it and I look terrible (got lots of spots on my face) so starting to think everyone will realise Im pregnant!

Hello all, just in shock as got my bfp today - only bought a test to rule it out! Very excited and a bit scared. We have twin boys already (2.5yrs).

Not quite sure when my due date will be - my last cycle was a bit messed up and I haven't been keeping track as carefully as I could have been! My digital hpt reckons I conceived 2-3 weeks ago which would put me at due around 20 Sept, will stick with that until I have a dating scan.

Now I understand why I kept falling asleep yesterday afternoon!

I've got my scan date through which is 17 Feb - seems ages away but with the amount of time I'm sleeping I hope it will fly by.

Congratulations to all the new people.

Can someone explain please how I am sleeping from 9pm until 7am, not drinking alcohol, eating ultra-healthily (okay, maybe not the two jam doughnuts I stuffed in this morning) and I still look like a wreck?! Where oh where is this 'blooming' that's supposed to happen?

And how have I managed to forget how horrible the first trimester is not once but TWICE? Next you'll be telling me that labour and childbirth are really painful....what was that? oh.

Looks like September's going to be a busy month... I recall reading somewhere that there are more births around then because of the festive spirit meaning people are less inhibited and er, more likely to get jiggy or something!!

Going for a doc's app. and early scan next Fri (29th) should be nearly 7 weeks by then. Fingers crossed I will be adding my name to the list that afternoon.

Boobs still huge (starting to see the benefits, although a friend asked me if 'I'd had some work done' a few days' ago. If you saw the before and after me you'd understand why!!) Got my MIL over (she's lovely, going to be a wonderful granny) and am desperate to tell her. Almost told my mum too. How am I going to hold off until 12 weeks?

Also, think we baked the baby on Christmas Day too - keep having a giggle when I see other people saying the same...

Stay well everyone. At the moment I feel like I'm on a boat. Managing not to throw up but it's unsettling and seems to add to the existing extreme tiredness.

Back to doctor again today. Kidney infection is clearing so rest of pain is down to usual stomach complaint. Have had a lot of issues with stomach/gall bladder over past year but used only occur every 3-4 months. Now seems every 3 weeks. They cant do anything to help and I wont take anything stronger than panadol anyway. Am doubled over and cant eat. Doctor even said if this continues I may have to come in for drip twice a week! I knew I would probably have the odd flare up but didnt expect this much pain and that the attacks would be closer together. Even DH getting frustrated and annoyed while still trying to sympathise with me. Am just so upset. Cant believe this is how my pregnancy will pan out. Havent stopped crying from either pain or worry today.
Sorry needed to vent.

MAMMYG so sorry to read you are feeling low, it must be an awful time right now for you and partner i can only say that NOTHING stays the same for long, and i really hope things look up soon.

Can someone tell me, why people have early scans? I understand if mc has happened in previous pregnancies, are there any other reasons?

Is anyone else REALLY FAT already?

Jaysfourth Thank you - pain easing up a little now so trying to focus on positive. Just hope this isnt nine months of hell. This will most likely be my last baby and just wanted to enjoy the whole experience. Feel like such a waster at work too cause over the last year was hospitalised and at other times was off sick. Just dont want to feel Im not cutting it either. Trying hard to tell myself that this baby is more important than anything but still feel crap.

Maitri On my first pregnancy didnt get into maternity wear until 25 weeks. On my last one had to put on mat pants at 9 weeks! Its so crazy how early it can kick in.

Hope everyone feeling well. Great to have you all to check in with. Dont feel like I am carrying the worlds biggest secret when chatting here. Would never cut it as a spy!

Update: Told our son (13) about the baby an hour ago. We thought that he might freak out a little as he's surrounded by little siblings (step and half). He was really pleased and is trying to be cool but can't wipe the smile off his face. He's a lovely boy and we really wanted him to know before anyone else as a new baby may have the biggest impact on him before anyone else in the family as 13 can be a tricky age sometimes. Besides, with the rate that I'm expanding I don't think that I'm going to be able to keep the secret for much longer. We'll probably tell the rest of the family next week but will keep the news from dd (5) until the 12 week scan - if anything doesn't work out, she's probably too young to understand the whys and the wherefores.

Jaysforth:
I had an early scan this week as I went to the GP with tenderness and sharp pain in abdomen and she sent me to A+E to double check it wasn't ectopic. The scan is an internal (vaginal) one - not altogether pleasant but i was used to it from last time, i was pregnant in Japan and they do loads of early scans! TBH at this stage (5-6 wks) it only showed an egg sac, not an actually baby! Nothing very revealing. but still good to see im not imagining it...although the growing queasiness and my newly massive boobs are also a hint!

morning all, went to the Docs for initial appointment. What a waste of time, waited for nearly an hour - for a two minute 'chat' as my cycle has been so erratic the past year, he said i should go for early dating scan and to inform MF of this..

Then at reception i was told that the MF i had for two previous pregnancies has since moved on and the current MF is on long term sick leave.... sigh no booking in appointments till 19 Feb.

I had to contact the Health Clinic who are covering the MF appointments at the surgery to be told that they would be struggling to get me booked in earlier than the 19 also...what a mare......

Maitri, we are not planning on telling anyone for as long as possible... even after the 12 wk scan ( which may turn out to be dating scan also at this rate!) my three are only just 4, 3 and 2 so i doubt it will sink it yet.

I am also preparing myself for comments such as 'you are joking' - 'are you sure you want another one' - 'really!?' -'my god you are going to be busy' - etc etc etc....not that i take much notice, but want to enjoy the nice feeling i have to myself, while i can

MammyG as many times as you are hard on yourself, you have to be equally good to yourself!!

Hi all,
I have been really sick lately. All I seem to do is vomit, retch and sleep!
So went to the dr this morning and got some medication... fingers crossed it works... but it was either that or mine and my families sanity!
I went down this route when I was expecing dc2 and she turned out fine, so hopefully all will be well again... although I hate taking anything when pregnant.
Will let you know how it goes... only had one dose so far, just before lunch.

Also have appointment for dating scan . Tuesday at 11.40 I'll get to see my baby! I think I should be somewhere around 8 to 9 weeks then, so hope they'll be something to see!! Never had an early scan before though so who knows!
I've been teasing DH that it must be twins as am so ill! Mind you I thought that last time but there was only dd in there!

I've had to start telling people now as I'm so sick there's no hiding it! Especially as I'm a childminder so avoiding everyone isn't really an option and work is getting increasingly hard! Thank goodness I only do it part time these days.

Jaysfourth re. early scans, my doc rec. it due to previous mcs, but I know a few people who were experiencing spotting and odd pains who had them just to make sure all was ok. I debated having one again (fri next week) because I got very attached to the little pic the first time round and when things didn't work out it was very hard to let go. Part of me wonders if it's worth it if everything is feeling ok. I'm just a little nervous but feel weirdly positive this time.On another note, I met a lady obstetrician who scanned herself on a lunchbreak (she already knew she was pg) and nearly fainted when she saw twins. Hope you're able to get you early dating scan while it's still early!!

Can anyone tell me if they had/have the kind of narcolepsy I'm experiencing this early?? I am literally sleeping 12 hours straight, and still nodding off for an hour or two during the day. It comes out of nowhere. Is this usual so early on? I am of no use to dog nor man and have a really important work deadline coming up, but I'm really struggling concentrating for decent periods of time. I am either sleeping, feeling permanently seasick or looking at baby clothes online....

LadyRabbit I have the narcolepsy! Am 8 and for the past 2 weeks have gone to bed about the same time as DD age 5! (And have been asleep before her!) Have a night out tonight - currently have no idea how I will stay awake!

mcfee a night out right now sounds like my idea of hell. I had a work-related version of that earlier this week and I literally would lose track of what someone was saying mid-sentence. I keep wondering if 7.30 is too early to retire for the night!!!! Good luck staying awake 2nite!

i have the narcolepsy too. It's the sleep of the dead, really it is; especially in the mornings when my DP has been lovely and gives me lie-ins

MW called this afternoon, booking in next week, so will see where it goes from there, not bothered really if i have one or not, its more to do with getting dates on time(ish) so i can have NT before time runs out!

I wish i could allow my narcolepsy to take over me...no chance with my three!!

I have a night out planned for next Thursday, its with my AN group in RL from DC2.... Will have to try and wriggle out of it or think of good excuse as to why i am not downing my drinks as norm!!

Hiya. I hope it's ok to join this thread? Very early stages at the mo. I have done two tests both positive and have first doctors app on Monday. From what I can work out, I am due on the 22nd September. If all goes well,this will be my first baba. Have sore boobs and mild tummy cramps but no sickness as yet.

I keep falling asleep too!! But not sleeping well at night. Loads vivid dreams and boiling one min cold next. Weeing every 5 mins and boobs sore, very dizzy spinny head - had to tell my work colleagues this week too hard to hide it!
Think I was pretty much the same first time round - guess I should get in touch with the docs as nearly 6 weeks now.
The blooming part will hopefully turn up around the 12 week mark!

Mellymooks I can sympathise - bed is just about the only place where I can't sleep atm. I seriously thought I was going to fall asleep at my desk at work today, people were asking me if I had a hangover.
