Hi

Anyone else here in Scotland? The system here is very different to England - when I had dd we were living in Lancashire but now I live in Glasgow. Saw my GP last week who said would get booking in/scan etc all together in one appt at 12-14 weeks. It seems like such a long time to wait, previously I saw midwife at my home at about 8 weeks with dating scan at about 11 weeks so I am feeling a bit short-changed here

Hello everyone, Sorry nt posted for ages!!
Welcome newbies

Well I'm just so exhausted its horrible, luckily have annual leave left over as was due to use most of it in feb as that was when mat leave would have started from last pg so am working four day weeks so I can get some sleep DH is on nights so last night went to bed at 9pm up at 7.30 took DD to nursery and beck in bed asleep by 9am woke up at 11.45pm!! WOAH!

Nausea is really bad but not actually being sick which was same with DD bought some travel sickness wrist band things and has really helped it to ease off so tip for all you icky ladies!!

Also had horrible thrush last week eew can only use pessary when pg too but cleared up now thank god!!
All in all early pg sucks

Well only got 6 more days to wait until my early scan so heres hoping, think I'm 7 weeks today?

Question for others who have MC'ed on here? Someone tell me I'm bonkers please when I MC at 13.5 weeks I knew I was bleeding went to the toilet just knowing the worse was happening, pain didn't kick in until 4 days later but I'm literally checking my knickers 10 times a day in case its happening again its like OCD or something! Also having horrible flashback type dreams about it all?!

sorry about rant!! Will def try and stay up longer to post more but promise I'm reading everyones!

Love2Dance · 19/01/2010 14:38

Hello All,

I am sorry to read about everyone having a difficult time with illness and grief in the family, especially MammyG and inzidoodle, but full of admiration as to how you're getting on with it.

CakeandFineWine, you are not bonkers. I'm checking knickers every trip to the loo too. I think this is a very anxious time. Do you think the dream thing is hormonal? I've been having really weird dreams. Not feeling very frisky at the mo but vaguely recall had a really freaky dream about Dominic "McNulty" West last night .

willthecatbejealous: great nickname! My 2 (beautiful and quite demanding Bengals) were. Both wanted to be on lap the bigger I got last time and once I started breastfeeding the (neutered) boy would regulary climb up and knead my boobs! (Not quite as bad as that internet clip from Japan of the woman suckling a cat mind you!) I'm sure he could smell the milk though...In the end the boy (who was getting into fights outside) started attacking our other cat (his mum) and we had to rehome him. Sadly our female contracted kidney disease and we had to have her put down last week . Now we have no cats.

Sorry to go on.

Kittyonthebeam · 19/01/2010 14:57

Hello ladies,

I just found out I'm pregnant and would like to join your thread. I'm 29 yrs old and have 1 dd 15months. By my calcs I'm due on the 24th of September. Will run it by a doctor in the next week or so. DH travelling a lot so it's been a bit hectic here looking after dc1 and repairs in the house.

Wishing you all a lovely afternoon!

Swordfishtrombones · 19/01/2010 16:28

Hi MudandRoses and Kitty - welcome to the september gang

My sickness seems to be easing into a general inability to get anything useful done at all. It's still bad in the evenings but overall I don't think it is quite as bad as when I was pg with DD1. (although then I had more time to indulge it!)

Love2Dance - not fair! I want to dream about McNulty too! I'm just having very vivid dreams about having twins.....

mcfee · 19/01/2010 18:19

CakeandFineWine - you're not bonkers, I am doing exactly the same.

Think the dreams thing must be hormonal, I am having crazy dreams - last night I dreamt I was taking part in one of Harry Potter's fights against You Know Who!

Curlylox · 19/01/2010 19:31

Need to share please as can't with anyone else except DH - just get a blank stare! I have always been regular iyswim but I'm not now have no inclination to go but feeling uncomfortable Any home remedies to offer please?
Other than that stretchy pains have ceased, still feel queasy every now and then, and feeling very very tired could sleep for England, don't stop yawning from the time I get up to the time my head hits the pillow.......only 6ish weeks

mellymooks · 19/01/2010 19:45

Hello everyone, can I join too? Pretty sure I conceived Boxing Day and think i'll be due 17th Sept.

I'm 33 and have a two year daughter and I'm very excited about starting all over again!

Will add myself to the list:

Hi all
inzidoodle sorry to hear about your grandad. I still hate that mine never knew boys he would have adored them. We were very close. Like you trying to balance the lot not easy. My mom is not back to full health but luckily I have some other family here too. Just feel like balancing that with work and home is too much sometimes!

Have suffered from gallbladder probs over past year - seems to get inflamed. Use to only happen every 3-4 months but had it 3 weeks ago and have it at the moment. Am in a lot of pain and am just so worried it will harm my little bean! have taken panadol but only cause after the day I really need a little relief. Has anyone had similar issues? Other ideas for pain relief or comfort? Need reassurance.

nandos · 20/01/2010 00:23

Hello..
can i join this thread too? 28 yrs old and have a DS who will be 6 mths in a weeks time.
was a shock at first cos' wasnt expecting to conceive that fast as DS took 3 yrs to conceive him..
luckily no financial issues otherwise i dont know how i will cope with 2 babies under 2
still early days (5 weeks) and will update due date, most probably end of sept when confirmed all is well..

take care all

MadameG · 20/01/2010 07:56

Hi everyone, I got my BFP on Sunday (well actually we did 7 tests cos we didn't believe it!). Saw the dr yesterday and found out that my due date is 16th September, which makes me 6 weeks pregnant tomorrow. I'm having the due date confirmed via a dating scan today.

Symptoms-wise, my boobs are very heavy and sore (and bigger), I keep getting waves of nausea, I'm very tired and emotional, I keep needing to pee and my tummy is a touch more rounded (before I found out I was pg I kept thinking I must have put weight on, but What To Expect When You're Expecting says otherwise).

I'm 30 and this is my first baby with my hubby. So excited!!!! Really hope everything will be ok.

Curly - Prune Juice!!! It has become the elixir of life for me over the past week as well as my morning bowl of All-Bran. I still wouldn't say that I'm really regular but am MUCH better than I was! Beware though; first dose of prune juice and I was glued to the loo within a few hours. Felt considerably less uncomfortable than I had been feeling in recent weeks. Try Sainsbury's - I'm sure Tesco's have it too. I use the longlife stuff from the glass bottles. It tastes fine but I mix it with fruit smoothies to make it even more palatable.

Love2Dance · 20/01/2010 12:05

Hello everyone joining this post and congratulations.

MammyG so sorry to hear about gall bladder problems. I know nothing about it but saw some general info and advice here:pregnancyandbaby.sheknows.com/pregnancy/.../Gall-bladder-problems-during-and-following-pregnancy-208 2.htm.

Have you thought about acupuncture to relieve the pain? I understand that sometimes it can help to regulate the flow of bile. There are some people who specialise in acupuncure for pregnant women who might be able to help. Toni Tucker is a trained midwife who does acupuncture: www.tonituckeracupuncture.co.uk. She's based in Cookham (Berkshire) or used to be but has clinics in London too. I went to her when I had complications at the end of my last pregnancy. If you want to know more about her let me know.

Might be worth giving someone like that a call to see if they can help?

Good luck.

Love2Dance · 20/01/2010 12:10

Acupuncture that should say!

cazza41 · 20/01/2010 12:45

Seem to have dropped the list, so have added myself on again.
Morning sickness hideous at the moment - only sipping tea seems to help.
Told father-in-law today and he's very pleased as lost his wife last year so nice to have some positive news.
Any other first timers finding it hard to stop reading everything they can find on the net about pregnancy etc?

Hi all
Love2Dance - thank you so much for the info but im in ireland. Will def check out acupunture tho as 2 people mentioned it to me already today. Turns out this time its just a nasty kidney infection Have to take an anti biotic which i wasnt kean on but better than an infection getting worse and hurting the baby I guess

Am just shattered - 2 hours sleep last night cause of pain and work today so like a zombie this eve. God love my two little ones cause patience was thin tonight. What will it be like with 3?

I'm so glad i've found this site - it's so reassuring to hear of other ladies having similar experiences!! It helps you feel a little more sane

I've also been getting up 2-3 times a night to pee - I thought I must be going mad as I can understand it later on in pregnancies - it makes sense when everything gets a bit squashed but when the baby is the size of a kidney bean you wouldn't think it would have much of an impact! Good to hear I'm not the only one

The nausea has been getting progressively worse day by day - have found that sucking peppermints really helps...

Cazza41 - i completely sympathise with spending hours on the net looking up tuff on pregnancy - not sure it's entirely healthy though - I'm starting to think there's quite a lot of truth in the ignorance is bliss cliche!!

Has anyone else found themselves avoiding meeting up with or accepting calls from friends because you're not sure how to talk to them without blurting your news out? I felt really deceitful chatting with my cousin today, replying 'fine' and 'nothing much' to his questions of how I was and what i'd been up to!!
