Last chance for a Scorpio, after this weekend they'll all be Sagittarians!

OP posts:

That is sooo exciting. It seems as there will be two more babies at least by tomorrow morning.
Ninja, I think it is supposed to be only a little bit of blood. But definitely lots of mucus if you haven't lost your show yet. So if you are worried, call the hospital... they might know slightly more than me

Ninjacat · 03/12/2009 19:14

On my way to delivery suite. leaking pink fluid. waters? will report back if I get sent home. don't expect to be very far gone

BeckyBendyLegs · 03/12/2009 19:18

Good luck Ninjacat

Trikken · 03/12/2009 20:41

good luck!

southernbelle77 · 03/12/2009 21:01

Good luck Laugs and Ninja. I hope everything is ok and it goes quickly for you both

scarlotti · 03/12/2009 21:03

Good luck Ninja

sassmonkey · 03/12/2009 22:14

Good luck to ninja and laugs!!

I went for a 3 mile walk today and have been burning clary sage this evening. I think the walk did some good, been getting more BHs today and feeling a lot more pressure on my cervix. Baby went quiet for hours which was a bit scary, but it's back in action.

Tell me, in your experience, is there any truth to the idea that the baby goes quiet before labour?

Thanks for the thoughts on where to store parents as well. I had a frank chat with them the other day about labour etc. I don't think my Dad wants to be there (WHEW - no chance he's going to be in the room when I have all my goods on display!) but my Ma did. Still she understoos my point. I will look into somewhere nearby they can stay or they will go to my Aunt's in Northwood, if said Aunt is still around when things kick off. I just hope the babe comes soon so we don't waste the little time they have over here.

I have a sinking feeling I'm going to be the last woman at this waiting-room-party... It's so nice to read the post-natal thread, it doesn't sound like an easy time with the new small ones, but there is so much advice and support over there, I hope I can join soon!

ursigurke · 03/12/2009 22:30

sass, I didn't notice any change of movement but I've heard many times that they do go quiet before labour, so hopefully this is another good sign.

grace09 · 03/12/2009 22:42

sass and skorpion - i'm still here!! And with absolutely zilch signs of anything happening. Felt lots of tightenings and cramps in my cervix during reflexology last night which was really weird but nothing since. Been for a long walk today and out for mexican for dinner. Feel in a better mood at least but pretty sure this baby is nowhere near making an appearance. Booked in for sweep tomorrow morning and i presume they'll want to book me in for induction next week.

Looking forward to hearing news from ninja and laugs. Did we hear anything from raggie?

Koumak · 03/12/2009 22:49

I went AWOL for a very long time! Loads of catching up to do! Wow I cannot believe I blinked and a whole month is over and our little pink pretzel is over a month old! Only few of you left now. Hurry up babies. I need all the mums on one thread I cannot possibly keep up with more than that.
Good luck and see you on the other side soon!

Laugs · 03/12/2009 23:49

Nice to see you Koumak! Hope all is going well.

I've got my fingers crossed for all of you waiting. My contractions had been quite regular at about 5 mins apart, but have slowed down in the last hour, so I'm going to try and get some rest.

DD must have picked up that something isn't right as she's been having awful nightmares, thrashing all over the place and crying out for me in her sleep tonight. It's heartbreaking . I wish I could know I will be there with her when she wakes up, but the chances are I might not be. This baby isn't even born yet and I already feel torn apart by two needy souls

Hope Ninja's having a better time

PavlovtheForgetfulCat · 04/12/2009 09:18

laugs and ninja good luck! I am looking forward to your news! I feel quite emotional. Guess my hormones are kicking in eh?

laugs that torn feeling, i had that with DD when I was in labour. I wanted to make her feel safe, and felt worried that that was the last time I would see her as just her mummy, withou another to look after. But, now he is here, it feels normal and natural and DD is fab with the new baby and understands/accepts so much more than I thought she would.

sassmonkey the baby's movements can slow down and often do. BUT, if you feel they have slowed down too much, get it checked out (ie less than 10 a day). My MW made me go for day assessment check as baby slowed down a lot, he was absolutely fine and did 20 kicks with 10 mins to prove me to be a liar!!! But they do like to keep an eye on slower movements after term, just precaution. I hope the wait is not too long for you xx

grace you too, hope things make some progress. xx

skorpion · 04/12/2009 09:56

Good morning!

laugs and ninja thinking of you both and sending you best wishes for happy news as soon as possible.

I thought I was leaking water last night, but it must have been clutching at straws. Had lots of pressure and punching and scraping sensations bearing down on the cervix. Could you tell me, are waters breaking actually something you can feel (I don't mean the obvious wetness, just the popping)?

grace I've only been managing short walks but it looks like a nice day so will have to drag DH away from his desk for a longer one.

sass good news about your agreement with your parents. It is difficult when you don't want to hurt their feelings but this is the only time you get in your life to enjoy those first moments with your first baby.

DH had a dream last night I gave birth to two monkeys

PavlovtheForgetfulCat · 04/12/2009 11:52

Skorpion - waters breaking - sometimes they pop with a loud visible 'pop' and gush, sometimes it can even be a little uncomfortable when they go. But, sometimes, they just trickle and that is the first you know of it. With DD, i woke to find my waters were leaking, but it was v early in the morning, so they might have 'popped' and I did not know, but I am thinking they did not, as I never had any 'gush' or large amount. With DS, they popped them for me, and there was a significant gush! And an overwhelming sense of relief from the pressure building, until the next contraction at least

skorpion · 04/12/2009 12:48

Thanks Pavlov - I've been getting the pressure build up, bit painful at moments. Ah well, I think I have started to try to read any silly thing as a sign of things starting. As you were

PavlovtheForgetfulCat · 04/12/2009 12:53

Skorpion - does it feel like you need a big poo? {tmi sorry!]. I kept saying that when in hosp, that it felt like I needed to push but was obviously not the case as waters needed to break, and the MW said that it was the water sack itself making me feel like that...if so, they might go any moment

tigger32 · 04/12/2009 13:11

Oooh keeping my fingers crossed for those in labour, won't be long now

skorpion · 04/12/2009 13:13

Nope, it's more of a pressure on the cervix. I think I need to stop analysing every single twitch before I drive myself mad.

PavlovtheForgetfulCat · 04/12/2009 13:32

i did exactly the same skorpion. Then, when it actually happens, you won't beleive it is happening .

Tamlin · 04/12/2009 13:53

No laugs, no ninja... I hope they're holding babies!

BeckyBendyLegs · 04/12/2009 14:04

Skorpion I leaked water the morning before Toby was born... Apparently it was my hind waters. The actual waters popped a few hours later when in proper labour.

grace09 · 04/12/2009 14:23

skorpion It's so hard not to analyse every little thing - i've been doing exactly the same. It does sound like something is starting to happen for you so that's brilliant.

So had my sweep this morning and i am 2cm dilated!! I was quite shocked as i thought i would have had to have contractions to be dilating but apparantly i've probably been having mild contractions and not noticed them!! Wouldn't it be great if the entire labour was like that!!! Anyway i've been told to expect to go into labour in the next 48 hours . Feel quite excited but also not quite trusting that this is really going to happen imminently. Don't really know what to do with myself. Feel really quite uncomfy and crampy after the sweep so don't really want to go anywhere which is a shame as it's lovely outside. However might drive myself mad hanging around the house. Think will just settle down to a few episodes of 24 and see what happens.

Wonder how ninja and laugs are getting on.

Sass - any progress for you today?

skorpion · 04/12/2009 17:06

grace how exciting! I'm having one on Sunday morning (secretly hoping I won't need it of course), I'll be interested to see if it works for you. Sounds like it is having an effect if you're crampy.

Thanks bbl I thought I remembered from the parentcraft thing that you can have something like a separate blister of waters that can break before the whole thing goes.

Another curry tonight. With extra chillies I think.

sassmonkey · 04/12/2009 17:40

Hi everyone. Still packing this kid around in my belly. I had a feeling something might happen last night, but then I got myself in a tizzwoz with DH (kinda picked a squabble, then got very emotional about it) and I think I set myself back a bit. Silly Sass. Pav, thanks for the tip on movement. I was actually getting quite worried, I think that was part of the emotional outburst. I was giving it another hour before I went for assessment. But, the Bean perked up a bit, and then a lot.

Parents arrived this morning and it's very nice to see them. They were laden with excellent baby things from people back home, it was like Christmas! Just went for a walk, coccix is hurting quite a bit. I'm getting a touch of late onset SPD.

Very exciting, grace, good stuff! How great to be dilated without knowing it, that's a dream. Sounds like things are shaking down for you too, skorpion. I'm in that mindset where it's never going to happen to me, but if it keeps happening to you lot, maybe it will to me!!

I have cooked a big beef bourgignon for tonight. TOmorrow, it will be the hottest curry that has ever entered my mouth. (Before I go through that pain - it is the hotness of the curry that makes it work , isn't it?)

Looking forward to hearing from laugs and ninja!

Trikken · 04/12/2009 17:59

apparently the curry is more likely to do something by upsetting your stomach, which isnt a pleasent thought. Spicy curries didnt work for me but it is worth a go. dont eat a chilli tho, i tried that one and it just made my mouth burn.
