Last chance for a Scorpio, after this weekend they'll all be Sagittarians!

OP posts:

Good luck Ninja and Laugs!! I hope it's very smooth and quick, and you're holding your babies very soon!
Any news from Raggie? Sorry, I haven't had chance to catch up on everyone's news. Sam was awake from 1 - 7am this morning, and I feel like cr*p!! But he is worth it. Just not sure how much longer I can cope on this little sleep because I am not great at sleeping in the daytime.

But really wanted to say I am thinking of all those mummies who are still waiting. Skorpion, I really hope things get moving soon. I also heard the same as Trikken - that the upset tummy triggers the uterus muscles as the bowels are so close - maybe not what you want when in labour....

Hurry up, little ones!!

sassmonkey · 04/12/2009 20:24

Excellent, thanks for the warning off eating the chilli, trikken! Hummous upsets my stomach, perhaps I'll try that tomorrow. What is the world coming too, I ask you...

Am weary, haven't had much sleep lately. I consider it a warm up for the real thing. I can't wait to get rid of sore hips and restless legs.

I wonder how the lucky labourers are getting on... Not a peep from raggie in a couple of days. Hoping all is well.

scarlotti · 04/12/2009 21:20

Exciting that so many of you are well on the way to your little ones. Am sure things will kick off soon for the rest of you too.

Sass I had an upset tummy last night from a bug - not something you want to encourage I'd say!

claired21 · 05/12/2009 07:26

There's news on facebook for ninja and raggie (ninja's page made my eyes water!)... so four to go?

grace, sass, skorpion & laugs?

Thinking of you ladies, it really won't be long now!

And on the upset tummy front, my SIL drank a carton of fresh orange juice which had the same effect but possibly a bit more pleasant than a hot curry?!

skorpion · 05/12/2009 09:48

Morning. I've decided against an upset tum, anyway curry doesn't have that effect on me. Not when cooked at home.

The baby is under an order not to appear today, as ma and pa are going for a day out shopping and chilling in Leamington Spa. No baby, you can't come today. U-uh.

(see what I'm doing there? shhh... )

Had a look on fb - well done both!! Oh, and I love all the baby photos in the group.

scarlotti · 05/12/2009 10:22

I think I missed the facebook bit can I still link up with you guys?

Trikken · 05/12/2009 11:06

oh yes, see what you mean claire.

sassmonkey · 05/12/2009 11:14

I'm not on the facebook page either, so can't see the news? Can I link up too?

All is as usual here. Just arranged to book my induction for next Friday/Saturday (with sweep on Tuesday), so if this kid holds out, I'll be rounding up the November gang! Maybe I'll rethink the upset tummy though. Nobody needs that.

My friend put a poem on my facebook wall today about overdue babies. It goes like this:

To A Ten-Months' Child

Late arrival, no
One would think of blaming you
For hesitating so.
Who, setting his hand to knock
At a door so strange as this one,
Might not draw back?

Donald Justice

It's a fair point, I think, the real world is a mighty strange door to be knocking on after the womb-world! It gave me a bit more patience with the little one.

skorpion · 05/12/2009 11:22

That's a lovely poem, sass! After all, once it starts there's no going back.

I'd love to help you guys with facebook, but I haven't a clue I'm afraid. I can post a link, but don't know how it would work - the group is open by invite I think. trikken, katster, claire and lissy are your admin people.

claired21 · 05/12/2009 13:31

If you ask to join the fb group I can approve the request. After that post a comment telling us who you are and I'll update the list x

raggie · 05/12/2009 15:33

Hello everyone - talk about AWOL!

Laughing at my last post - 'didn't know it would take this loong' - I didn't know thehalf of it at that point.

I am back now though and with a babe in arms. (Well, asleep upstairs...) Seems rather quiet here now so going to skim through what's been happening, check the postnatal thread and also FB to see where best to catch up.

sassmonkey · 05/12/2009 15:55

Welcome back raggie! What flavour baby did you have and what's it's name?!

How do i locate the right facebook group so I can request entry?

Trikken · 05/12/2009 15:59

plus weight!

claired21 · 05/12/2009 16:24

Sass skorpion posted the link about four comments back. If that doesn't work, search for mumsnet November 2009 group.

grace09 · 05/12/2009 16:29

congratulations raggie - looking forward to hearing all the details!

sass - that's a lovely poem - very poignant (sp?)

Well after the excitement of yesterday today has been very non-eventful. Had to hang around the labour ward for 4 hours while they repeated my bloods from yesterday. I was so jealous of all the pregnant ladies coming in to have their babies!! Why does mine not want to come out??? Anyway blood tests were fine so i'm back home wondering when something is going to happen. My lower back has been quite achy - here i go again analysing every little thing! How long can i be 2cm dilated?? Could this go on for another week?? AHHH!!

grace09 · 05/12/2009 16:33

oh - Claire i've just requested to join the facebook group. Hope that's ok!

scarlotti · 05/12/2009 17:18

Have just requested to join too

Congrats on your bundle of joy raggie

Lovely poem.

Laugs · 05/12/2009 17:59

Hi. Congratulations Raggie! Love the name, that was my choice if we'd had a girl.

I too am laughing at my naivety - wondering if DH would make it back from his exam in time on Thursday morning! In fact, baby James was born on Friday at 9.38pm. It was pretty, um, laborious, but well worth the wait. I'm just out of hospital this evening. DH and James have just gone to bed and I am playing games with DD. It all seems oddly like nothing much has changed, but I know it's just waiting for reality to set in.

Hope Sass, Skorpion and Grace are not waiting too long. Thinking of you all and wishing you gentle, easy labours - soon

Laugs · 05/12/2009 18:02

That poem is very poignant by the way. I could cry

ErikaMaye · 05/12/2009 18:06

Welcome to all the new arrivals

raggie · 05/12/2009 19:21

Hello

Our little one is called Rosa and she weighed in at half an oz over 8lbs. I'm going to put a pic on my profile so any non-FBers can ogle

grace I totally know what you mean about being jealous of the other women having their babies. My contractions just went on and on and on and wouldn't dilate my cervix past 5-6cm (this was 8pm Wednesday night, having gone in to the birth centre at midnight on Monday with them 5 mins apart!) I kept hearing women in labour and then babies crying and mine was just staying put!

It really felt like she would never come...but more of that in my birth story when I get a chance.

Like the poem sass

skorpion · 05/12/2009 20:06

laugs, raggie so happy for you. Congratulations! Both names are lovely.

sassmonkey · 05/12/2009 20:14

Wonderful news, laugs and raggie and welcome to the world, Rosa and James. Lovely names indeed!

Thanks for pointing out the really quite obvious link, skorpion! And thank you everyone for the continual wishes for a baby to appear soon and for a nice labour. They help!

sassmonkey · 05/12/2009 20:15

Just requested to join the FB group. Am Alison L.

claired21 · 05/12/2009 20:48

Congrats to laugs and raggie and anyone else I might have missed in my sleep deprived state! Not long til we call it a day here and move over to postnatal!

I think that's the name list on the facebook group updated correctly... apologies if I've got any names wrong.

Grace09 - I think your facebook settings currently don't allow anyone to add you as a friend... we had this problem when the group was set up for a few people as well. If you try settings you should be able to change it. I didn't want you to think we don't want to be facebook friends with you, it's just that we can't add you for some reason!

I am exhausted. Midwifes have me feeding Ethan every 3 hours to make sure he keeps putting weight on as he lost 14oz in 3 days after he was born. He's put on 5oz in the last 3 days so doing a lot better but still a bit of a way to go. Sleeping until the baby wakes me up seems like a heavenly prospect at the moment.

Hope everyone is doing well
