I got my BFP yesterday, AF not due til Sunday Tested again this morning just to make sure I didn't dream it.

Have been very sick already which is what prompted me to test, also very very tired.

Looking forward to seeing other people on this exciting journey

Happy New Year all! Our Internet connection has been down the last few days, so have been annoyed at not being able to log on. So sorry to hear your news Poppy - sending you my very best wishes and fingers crossed that you fall pregnant very soon.

I've just updated the list - pasted below - as my due date is confirmed as 29th August, so I guess that means September really as it's my first! I wanted to check if any of you have had/are having stitch like pains across your lower abdomen around 6 weeks? I'm two days off six weeks and have had that pain all day. It doesn't really hurt, just feels like I've pulled something. Any reassurance is very welcome

Hi Boos having the same sort of stitch issues myself, on and off not every day but often enough to notice. I've googled it a hundred times of course and it's apparently quite normal as things are growing and moving to make room. Nothing to worry about so I'm told. x

starshaker · 01/01/2010 22:15

can we have a little poll and guess how many on the list will be having twins?
Im gonna guess 2 sets lol

BTW i will not be 1 of them (i hope)

littlemiss72 · 01/01/2010 22:24

Oh dear, I'm in a enough of a panic without that lol. Although that said I would love to have two in one go and get it over with.. can't believe I just typed that!

littlemiss72 · 01/01/2010 22:25

I say 3 sets hehe

Boos75 · 01/01/2010 22:33

Thanks littlemiss. I think am going to get used to the old 'this can be a good sign or maybe a very bad sign in pregnancy' line that I've seen on so many pregnancy websites! I then of course think that maybe it is twins or triplets (eek!) and my stomach is having to stretch even more than it would for one. Then again, have eaten my body weight in mince pies over Christmas and completely stopped going to the gym, which I must start again though slightly nervous about it.

Am thinking of paying to have an early scan - around 8 weeks. Is anyone else? My friend had one and said it was around £150. You can tell how strong the heartbeat is, which apparently for those of you like me who are pregnant with you first, is a sign that you're less like to MC the baby. The downside is that if the heartbeat is weak or not regular they may tell you that it looks like the baby is going to MC (as was the case with my friend's friend), which does of course go some way to prepare you but I can't imagine how awful that must be to hear

I just wish I could fastforward time a little as this stage, as exciting as it is, is not good for a complete control freak like me!

littlemiss72 · 01/01/2010 22:51

Know what you mean Boos, I'm reading too much on the world wide web and scaring myself. I guess the best thing to do is have positive thoughts and take care of ourselves.

I was thinking about an early scan to, I have good private health care at work but I'm not sure if this includes such things.. might give them a call. Like you though, again feeling a little worried about what I might find out. It's a terribly worrying time as well as exciting, I'm awash with all sorts of emotions! Daft bat lol

Talk to your OH and work out what's best for you, most of try not to worry too much. x

Boos75 · 01/01/2010 22:59

Thanks littlemiss for your replies. It's great to be able to share concerns and worries with others on this thread. My friends with children say you never stop worrying about them, from the moment you're pregnant, so I'd better try and start to relax and stop checking websites too much!

Off to bed now. Night all. x

girlsyearapart · 02/01/2010 07:49

morning all.

v tired this morning after dd1 woke at 320 and is still up but of course had to wake whole household including dd2 in the process.

Sorry if tmi but I have been having some bloody discharge is this something I should be panicking about?

Did not have any bleeding at all through both other pregnancies. I just don't have a good feeling about this one.

Twins- I reckon 1 set. Lots of early scans have been had so that rules out those people..

isheisnthe · 02/01/2010 08:48

God twins - I would be terrified - ds1 & 2 only have 15 monthish apart so it was like having twins, and I am not sure I could cope with 4!!!

I am so tired - and a bit ratty and emotional.

Have been talking babies with ds1 and 2, ds2 is quite okay if we were to have one (but has said "that would mean that we are not your babies anymore tho mummy" but ds1 is quite clear that he does not want a baby.

Its tricky, as I dont want to tell them quite yet incase things don't work out, plus I do not want them telling their dad either(my ex) even tho it wouldn be a problem I just want it kept in the family for now iyswim.

So, when do I tell them??????????/

Alicehasamincepieintheoven · 02/01/2010 09:21

Morning ladies

With the stitch like pains, i have felt they have got better now (8weeks) but if i sneeze/cough/blow my nose they are very painful, but i think it is because everything is stretching iyswim?

Twins? I am so paranoid/slightly convinced i am having twins, probably just because of the tiredness, althopugh i'm sure i was sicker when i had DD so who knows

Anyone suffering with constipation? It is driving me mad! I am munching my way through a pack of sultanas atm hoping it may do something (sorry if tmi )

Have a good day all

KayloHalo · 02/01/2010 10:16

Good Morning everyone and a very Happy new Year to you all.

I'm sorry about my extended absence over the last few weeks - it's been crazy with Christmas to prepare for!!!

Have been trying to read through previous posts but have to admit theres so many that I can't remember a lot of what I've read

Wishing everyone who has lost lo's the best of luck ttc in 2010 - hoping to hear happy news from you soon

I'm 10 weeks today and sickness appears to be subsiding - thankfully. Tbh, it's not the sickness thats the problem as I have really been sick all that much - feeling sick is soooo much worse cos theres just little or no relief to it!!

I rung my gp surgery to arrange an appointment for booking in with a midwife about 3 weeks ago (on a monday) and was told I would receive a callback after the Thursday....still waiting.....
At least I won't have a huge wait between booking in and dating scan.

My vote for the sets of twins is 1 set. Hopefully not me!! carrying 1 baby will quite enough methinks

Love to All xxx

littlemiss72 · 02/01/2010 11:51

Morning all,

6 weeks today yay! Feeling fine, even managed a nice cooked breakfast. Everything repeats on me mind..I've just got used to that lol.

Anyone else having strange dreams? or am I just going a little mad.

Off to panto later to see mother goose with DP, we go every year as is tradition. Shame I can't head out in my new fluffy pink dressing gown

Hope your all keeping well, be interested to know about the dreams! Ooh also I think my prediction of 3 sets of twins is rather high but I'm sticking with it. x

FloweryBoots · 02/01/2010 12:08

Not been able to access t'internet all the while I've beeen away over Christmas, and don't have the energy to read all the posts I've missed, so just done the last page!

I recon 2 sets of twins. Keep thinking it might be me as my Grandma was pregnant with twins, oh heck...

Only my parents and DH's parents know I'm preggo (or a 'pregosaurous' as my DH now calls me) but as both my sisters have kiddies and my younger sister is 7 months pregnant at the mo, all talk was baby related. Made my DH feel very uncomfrotable - he did not trust me or my Mum to keep our mouths shut!

Part of thier discussions were the relative saftey, or not, of scans when you're pregnant. Apparently both my Mum and older sister refused all ultrasound as far as possible. Any one know anything about this? I obviously couldn't ask too many details without giving away my secret!

Chulita · 02/01/2010 12:13

Part of me really wants twins just because I'd like 3 and I did not enjoy the experience with DD from conception to her 4 month birthday but I'd be afraid that she'd get sidelined if we had twins and she's sooooo adorable I couldn't bear feeling that she wasn't getting the attention she needed. (and no, that's not PFB, she is actually completely adorable - you'd all agree if you met her ) I'm way more tired with this pg than with DD but less sick so who knows what that means!
2 sets I reckon...
kaylo I wondered where you'd got to!
New Year wishes to all, a day late but then this is the first day I've been out of my pjs all week so I have a good excuse

mrsZaC · 02/01/2010 12:44

hey ladies, avidly read everything but I think my pregnancy brain is kicking in and I can't quite remember it all - doh! So I'll just tell you all what's up in my world and maybe some folks can relate...

I was having period like pains a lot, they come and go, yesterday I got two really sharp excruciating pains in a row - ouch!!! the kind that you have to prop yourself up against the wall with, slightly worrying but didn't get any more so just took them with a pinch of salt. I'm very sensitive with my digestive system so can't tell wether some pains are digestive or baby-related. If I've been busying about I get sore pains in my back and have to rest for a bit.

I'm not consipated as such but certainly my bowl movements are very different.. and causing some discomfort. (sorry if tmi)

Still having trouble sleeping, can't get comfortable and waking up a lot, having vivid dreams, some strange, dreamt I met nigella this morning!

The next few days are going to prove challenging as some of our friends coming over to stay and then a birthday party next weekend, both of which I would normally be drinking copious amounts at, going to be difficult to explain and DH is so desperate to tell them about my 'condition' (does anyone else find that term annoying??!) that it might pop out... so far only my collegue and immediate family know but I'm sure the cat will be out the bag soon, lets hope everything is OK and we are not being foolish telling too many people.. 6 +2 today.. yippee! roll on the next 7! (man seems ages away)

I predict 1 set of twins.. hopefully not me, that would be mighty cruel 1st time round I reakon!

FloweryBoots · 02/01/2010 12:52

I went out for a friend's birthday just before Christmas and two of the girls instantly started much whispering (not sufficiently quietly!) about why I'd just asked for an apple juice. Of course no one asked why I wasn't drinking so I couldn't real of one of my many well prepared lies! Oh well.

MyDH has not got as far as calling the pregnancy 'my condition', though if he did I might have to hit him. He would happily wrap me in buble wrap for the next 7 months and not let me out of the house though - if I have to say 'I'm pregnant not ill' any more I should not be held accountable for my actions!

KayloHalo · 02/01/2010 13:22

Chulita I'm here just been so busy not had time to check my email let alone MN!!

Hopefully should have it a bit easier now the Christmas stress is over.

Had a carpet of lego xmas morning - was fun

KayloHalo · 02/01/2010 13:46

I hate the term condition

Makes me sound terminally ill.

I'm finding sleeping a lot easier now for some reason - think it's because tiredness is not relenting one tiny bit so I have spent the evenings of the last couple of weeks on the sofa sound asleep!!

liahgenispreggerswithnumber6 · 02/01/2010 13:54

Hi everyone

happy new year to you all

Well since yesterday I haven't been feeling quite the same, nothing I could put my finger on, still feel a bit hungry but don't really have the sicky feeling stuck in my throat, and have managed to convince myself it's cos I'm having mmc

Also having lots stretching and aching pains and also managed to convince myself these are beyond normal. I'm sure they'r e all very normal but not feeling particularly positive about the whole thing at the moment to be honest.

7 wks and think i'm def gonna ring docs and arrange appt for next week to book in, maybe try for early scan cos have had mmc before couple years ago and my last pg, (last year) ended early so think I would feel happier if I knew everything was ok.

Nice to see you back kaylo glsd things are going well for you.

KayloHalo · 02/01/2010 14:05

Hiya Liahgen I'm sorry you're feeling down at the moment. Maybe it;s just new year blues?

I think it's a good idea to requestan early scan if you're feeling troubled about the pregnancy that way at least you can get some peace of mind. I'm sure your little bean is just peachy and getting to know his/her way around

Missus84 · 02/01/2010 15:02

I'm sleeping 12 hours a night at the moment Trying to enjoy it before going back to work on Wednesday!

Has anyone had there booking appointment yet? I was wondering if it's ok to take your DP to it. I have a bit of an issue with needles and blood tests so would appreciate having him there to keep me calm

KayloHalo · 02/01/2010 15:28

I don't think there is any blood taking or needles at your booking info - I think all they do is just register the fact that you're expecting onto the system and talk about how you conceived and what your plans were for the pregnancy/birth.

I didn't have a blood test til about 16 weeks last time, I think.

And I don't think it would be a problem your other half to go - it might a nice experience for him too getting to meet your caregiver

Boos75 · 02/01/2010 16:24

I reckon two sets of twins (bagsy not me!). The stitch like pain I had all day yesterday thankfully disappeared overnight. Six weeks tomorrow and am planning to call on Monday to book in a private early scan ideally for 10 days time. I will drive myself and my DH crazy if I have to wait until mid Feb!

Missus84 · 02/01/2010 16:29

Kaylo - I was told they do take blood samples. Maybe it depends on the area you're in? I'll take DP anyway.
