I got my BFP yesterday, AF not due til Sunday Tested again this morning just to make sure I didn't dream it.

Have been very sick already which is what prompted me to test, also very very tired.

Looking forward to seeing other people on this exciting journey

Oh no dog, yes get yourself to bed immediately! Hope your little ones have a better night.

liahgenispreggerswithnumber6 · 29/12/2009 23:59

good evening ladies,

Just watched Australia, lovely film, not great for the raging hormones though.

God I am feeling soooo rough, constant sea sickness, and just ill and nauseus from the moment I wake up til... Well all the time actually, I wake up during the night feeling sick. I know it's a good sign but I'm not quite 7 wks and I know in my pg's it fades away about 5 mths!!! a way to go yet.

Still, I discovered that ice cubes help a little and sat and ate twelve through the film so will just ake sure I have a stash for the evenings, daytimes I can distract with the business of life.

Dh went on a coffee ice cream finding mission for me earlier, I just fancy something that is refreshing and can't find anything that hits the spot. Bless him, he found some but it didn't really work, (didn't tell him that though after all his searching)

Hope you are ok muther let us know how you are getting on.

Who was asking about worrying cos this is their 1st? Don't worry, it happens every time, this is my 9th pg and hopefully 6th dc and I am still worried sick. Once you get a bit further on, you do kind of settle into it a bit more, the first few weeks are always a worry but a wise person once said to me

If you are carrying a healthy pg then all will be ok, if it's not a healthy pg, then there is nothing you can do about it.

Not particularly jolly and having been there myself, not at all helpful for those with losses but in our resoned brain, obviously very semsible advice.

Enjoy the week everyone, no great plans here for new year, quiet night in with a movie and a bowl of ice cubes.

girlsyearapart · 30/12/2009 07:30

Liaghen I wake up in the night feeling sick too. Glad I'm not the only one

mrsZaC · 30/12/2009 09:12

Hello ladies, back at work now for a couple of days so catching up with you guys

So sorry to hear about the losses , love and hugs for you all.

hope everything is ok bigmuther... littlemiss I'm expecting my first too, 5+3 today although feels like much longer! I'm harding having any symptoms at all, i know I shouldn't complain but it only makes me worry, had the odd bit of nausea and bloating but nothing to write home about. The main worry has been all the period type pains I've been having on and off ever since 4 wks. On the upside I'm compulsively knicker checking and not seen a drop of anything suspicious so I'm taking that as a good sign. My mum isn't helping either, telling me not to get too excited as she lost her first at 3 months, cripes! she's only trying to help but I can't help feeling worried.

I'm just wishing the next 8 weeks away so I can know everything is ok, but I suppose we're all in the same boat so I should stop complaining. Is anyone else holding back the excitment just incase?

Anways.. on a more happier note I had a fantastic time over christmas, we had a big family christmas this year and we told everyone, they were all over the moon! I think we made their christmas! Trying to keep it a secret from my friends until I've been for my scan but I'm not sure if I'll hold out much longer, got lots of parties and gatherings coming up and going to get increasingly difficult to explain why I'm not drinking. Ate sooooooo much but at least there was no drinking involved so not quite as many calories as I'd usually have - score!!

question... does anyone go to the gym regularly, I usually do but stopped about 2 months ago, been dying to get back into the swing of things but worried, just incase, doc says so long as I'm not running a marathon I will be fine.... anyone else still hitting the gym? I've heard it does wonders for your bod during and after you pregnancy? wanting to take up pilates or yoga too.

mrsZaC · 30/12/2009 09:19

oh yeah, forgot to mention, having terrible trouble sleeping, mainly getting to sleep but then waking up in the night, no sickness or needing to pee or anything, just restless sleep! anyone else having this problem?

Crazycatlady · 30/12/2009 10:12

Yes to restless sleep, yes to waking up in the night feeling sick

MrsZaC I'm still exercising - not in the actual gym as I find I'm so hypersensitive to other people's body smells at the moment that I can't bear it. Classes are ok though, as there are usually no men . I've not really been doing anything over Christmas, but in the next week or so I plan to get back into some light jogging/hill walking, and some of the less strenuous gym classes.

Your doc is right, it's fine to carry on with whatever exercise your body is used to, or if you haven't really exercised before, to do light exercise of some sort. Just don't get too hot or let your heart rate go over about 140.

I'm keeping the exercise mild as my blood pressure always plummets in early PG so I feel quite faint, but I do find a bit of exercise, especially in the open air, helps the constant nausea no end.

littlemiss72 · 30/12/2009 10:20

Hi all, hope your all doing well. Welcome all newbies and congrats!

Many thanks MrsZ seems we are both 5+3 and feeling much the same. I have the period type pains now and again to, not feeling sick at all which is a bonus! Trying not to worry too much and just get through the first 12 weeks.

I spend most days at the gym as we have one on-site at work, although saying that I haven't been since the Christmas Party on the 9th December.. felt that eating and dancing was far more fun! I hope to continue in the NY and will just do a light workout maybe three times a week. Swimming is also an option as we have a pool however I'm not sure the tankini will look very fetching lol.

Have been to the docs and have been asked to have a full set of blood tests, DP is going to take me in the NY as we see no point turning up this week only to find they have skeleton staff on shift.

Have told a close friend at work today, she's also been trying and hope she will be joining me soon! Apart from that it's still our little secret which I kind of like.

Think I just need some time to get used to it all

NYE will be spent on the balcony wrapped up warm! We live on the Thames in London so should see a lovely display come 12..if I can keep myself awake that is lol.

I'm reading sooo much about you all eating crakers? sounds funny but obviously working.

Better do some work.. sooner I'm done the sooner I go home again yay!

Have a good day all. x

mrsZaC · 30/12/2009 10:38

thanks catlady can't wait to get back to the gym.. my friend says there is a special tummy holder you can get for when your further on, sounds awesome!

x

vix206 · 30/12/2009 11:58

I found another great remedy for nausea whilst trawling the web yesterday, I tried it last night (woke up at midnight feeling really sick) and never expected it to work - but it did!

So here's what you do. When you feel nauseous, press your belly button for around 30 seconds with one finger, quite hard but obviously not so it is painful. It should just feel tender. While you are applying the pressure it doesn't feel very nice (because you feel sick so poking your tummy seems wrong). But within moments of releasing the pressure my nausea just vanished and I managed to sleep!

I'm sporting the sea bands again today and feeling so much less sick, still feel a bit queasy but it is much more manageable and the main thing for me is eating a small amount every 2 hours.

For the first 3 weeks I woke up every morning very early, not sick but just wide awake. It happens less regularly now but I am finding that if I do wake up in the night/early morning it is very hard to get back to sleep. It must be the hormones...

Anyway have a good day everyone

bigmuther65 · 30/12/2009 12:00

there is definitely blood not lots just traces when i wipe occasionally.I have spoke to the EPU and they said they will see me this afternoon at 3.30.They asked me a few questions about the amount of blood and any pain don,t think they were that concerned, but in my last pregnancy before this i had the same problem just small amounts of spotting and when i went for my 12 wk scan was told the baby had stopped growing at 7 wks around the same time the bleeding started.Still feel very ill being sick didn,t get up till past 10 today last time when my spotting started my symptoms were never as strong,so i am holding out hope that this is a good sign

Alicehasamincepieintheoven · 30/12/2009 12:09

Good luck this afternoon bigmuther

I threw up in my horses stable this morning and feeling very rough still. just want to sleep constantly

aendr · 30/12/2009 12:13

Hello,

I'd like to add myself to the list but this thread is quite dauntingly long, especially with the sad and worrying parts. Bigmuther65 (and anyone else I've missed from this long thread, going through bleeding) I have my fingers and toes crossed for you. So far this time around I'm okay, but I know how worrying and scary it is.

Allthe8s · 30/12/2009 14:42

Hi Ladies hope you are all doing well in the run up to NY.

Anyone around 6 weeks feeling bloated to high heaven and need of maternity clothes already! I think I need to send hubby in the loft of retrieve my maternity jeans.

Fingers crossed for you Bigmutha x

starshaker · 30/12/2009 15:21

well because of my history (this is my 7th pregnancy and i have 1 dd) they have arranged my scan for the 7th of jan just to see how things are going. Im gonna ask for regular scans and check ups this time.

K8M · 30/12/2009 16:55

hey there... just wondering if i can join the list? found out yesterday that we're expecting our 2nd on 28th August 2010.

v excited.

Chulita · 30/12/2009 17:10

Hope the scan went well bigmuther
Welcome K8M!

I'm hoping the nausea goes soon, I throw up at least once a day and retch all day long. I find sea sickness bands bruise my wrists am I wearing them wrong?
at any of you doing any exercise. I'm usually quite active but I'm so tired at the mo. I swam a lot at the end of last pgcy so I'll try that this time if I ever get any energy back...
DD's got a rotten stinking cold so I've been up the last few nights settling her and she's full on during the day cos she feels so miserable. My cold's not shifting either so it's all a barrel of laughs at the mo.
I'm going to have to dig out the maternity clothes too, my stomach is sooooo flabby (it's actually vile imo) I never got any of my lovely pre-baby tummy, just old over-stretched skin and flab [sigh]

Right, don't want to make you all miserable with my woes - have a lovely evening everyone!
and Non-vomiting vibes to all

Missus84 · 30/12/2009 17:52

I've not been feeling sick at all today, so am instead really paranoid that something's gone wrong

DP can't understand why I keep torturing myself!

alys78 · 30/12/2009 18:39

Hi all,

I am so sorry for Poppy , thinking about you an dhoping you get all the love and support you need.

I've had a stinking cold for three days and now I've lost my voice so the DH thinks this is great.

On a better note, I have eaten so much today and managed not to be sick or feel nauseous. Hopefully I may be over the worst, I am 9 weeks tomorrow.

We are going out tomorrow with friends round the village where we live. I have told people that I am driving early on New Years day, so I can't drink!! I have been told by my best friend to stop in bed all day til we go out and then I may be able to stop awake for midnight!!!

Hope everyone is well, sending lovely baby thoughts to you all
Alys xx

alys78 · 30/12/2009 18:49

sorry just read a bit more, I really hope that your scan went well bigmutha, if you are not in ain I think that is more of a good sign, I know I had a lot of pain when I mc earlier this year.

Fingers and everything else crossed for you
Alys xx

bouncingblueberries · 30/12/2009 18:50

9 + 2 today but woke this morning to a tiny amount of spotting

Off to the EPU first thing tomorrow for a scan. No more blood thankfully but I feel quite crampy. Keep your fingers crossed for me.

Hope everyone else is having a good day - sorry haven't read anyone's posts today.

PoppyIsApain · 30/12/2009 18:50
