I got my BFP yesterday, AF not due til Sunday Tested again this morning just to make sure I didn't dream it.

Have been very sick already which is what prompted me to test, also very very tired.

Looking forward to seeing other people on this exciting journey

Personally, i would rather tell people, especially as i am feeling rough than have people think i am being pathetic

With DD we had to tell everyone at 7weeks because DH had to rush out of work to take me to hospital for a scan as Dr thought it was ectopic. All was fine, everyone knew, but it did make for a long pregnancy!

Chulita · 29/12/2009 13:47

Hello all, belated Merry Christmas to everyone We've all had the lurgy for the last 10 days, still going strong too so I've not been up for staring at computer screens.
Welcome all the newbies.
So sorry for you poppy, take care of yourself. bigmuther hope everything's alright with you!

Missus84 · 29/12/2009 14:39

God, I'm feeling so disgustingly lazy at the moment! I want to go to the sales but even the promise of shopping hasn't persuaded me off the sofa. I haven't even got out of my pyjamas for two days

vix206 · 29/12/2009 14:52

Missus, I left the house today for the first time since Boxing Day. I had to go across town for some cat food, took crackers and sickbag with me Luckily didn't need the bag but did need the crackers.

Wouldn't recommend venturing out into the throngs of sale shoppers unless you are feeling very brave and fit, I found it a bit stressful I have to say!

Missus84 · 29/12/2009 15:08

You're probably right about the sales vix! DP is being very good and pandering to me - I suppose I should make the most of the time off before going back to work.

Rubena · 29/12/2009 15:40

Sorry to hear Poppy

Glad im not the only one on pj's for 2 days straight. Feel grim every morning until about 2pm, then tired all afternoon.
No vomit though, but I almost wish there was. Constantly feeling bloated and thirsty too

littlemiss72 · 29/12/2009 16:00

Hi Ladies, feeling a little odd..is this all real?

Week 5+2, little twinges but nothing too terrible! Haven't told a soul other than my DP and don't feel pregnant as such. To make matters worse I keep reading through stories of MC and wondering if that could be me soon. Of course I feel awful for all those who do report bad news but the more I read the more I'm worrying.

It's my 1st and I'm feeling really scared..is this normal?

Frighten to tell anyone else at this early stage as I'm not sure I could bare it if things went wrong, gawd what's wrong with me today!

Always end on a positive though.. boobies are growing a treat

Missus84 · 29/12/2009 16:02

I'm the same Rubena, I haven't thrown up but just feel so sick with occasional retching. I seem to have morning sickness, afternoon exhaustion, and then another round of evening sickness to end the day on a high note! Just a couple more weeks though and it should get better - can't wait for the second trimester.

Alicehasamincepieintheoven · 29/12/2009 16:21

Vix i found that murray mints are helping me, so much so that i have to keep them by the bed.

I am doing the horses twice a day, but apart from that i am unable to do anything else. DD is watching an awful lot of PeppaPig atm DH is being great. Not overly sympathetic but he is doing all the housework and cooking as i cannot bear to go anywhere near the fridge

girlsyearapart · 29/12/2009 16:34

Hi everyone.

poppy so sorry. Yes I think they will still want to scan you to check you over.

Good luck to everyone else.

I am shattered. Dd1 got a big bed for xmas and is proving to be a nightmare sleeper in it.

Can't wait until the 12wk scan I am just constantly paranoid.

Ritz crackers are good for sickness.

vix206 · 29/12/2009 17:15

I bought some sea bands today and honestly they have made a real difference this afternoon. My diet mainly consists of dry crackers, toast and fruit. Got a huge grape craving but they're making my tummy a bit acidy so having to ration them!

Also bought some peppermint tea today which was soothing this afternoon after my toast. I'm also lucky my DH is being so helpful and caring.

LittleMiss this is my first too so its all new to me as well. It is very scary to read about miscarriages, and such a terrible thing to happen to anyone. But try not to worry about it, staying positive is good for both you and baby. We have told all our close friends and family, I have been feeling so poorly that most of them would have guessed anyway as they knew we were trying. And if the worst happened I would be grateful for their support.

Crazycatlady · 29/12/2009 17:23

Bleuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuurgh. Am feeling SO sick today. Yuk, yuk, yuk. I'd forgotten just how miserable the nausea is. I feel sea sick, jet lagged and hungover all at once. Still no actual vom, exactly like last time. So it should pass by week 14. Six weeks time...

DH is being totally brilliant and doing all DD's meals as well as our own. I can cope with housework etc, but just not the food, yak. I am finding a dab of tea tree oil under my nose is helping a bit though. And of course crackers... Jacobs must be raking it in.

Sorry to everyone whose having a hard time. Makes you think about what a fragile thing pregnancy can be .

What is everybody doing for New Year? We're being dullards and staying in, probably playing Trivial Pursuit and watching a film with plenty of salty popcorn. Gosh, THAT's what I fancy right now

possiblenewmum · 29/12/2009 18:49

Hi everyone - hope you had good chrimbo's. I told close family and 2 close friends over xmas, have never heard my mum scream with so much excitement in my life (its her 1st GC) she didn't even get that excited about my wedding last year. Sister's fiancee was the only one dumbo that asked "was it planned?" Doh!!

So sorry to hear about the people we've lost. Hope things work out better in the future and that they are well supported at the moment .

I got a bit eager and expressed an interest for an nct course earlier, but to hold my place they want payment in 2 weeks - won't have had my 12 week scan by then! not sure what to do now.

Oh yes Gavin and Stacey! Can't wait for the last episode.

dog what's your due date, I'll add you to the list.

I know what you mean about BFing and being PG. I found it strange but lovely at the same time, but DD decided she'd had enough about two weeks ago. I think my milk might have begun to taste different, and she was not at all impressed, so I've stopped feeding , but we made it to 11 months (after a very shaky start) so I'll feeling proud of what we achieved nonetheless and hoping to do the same with DC2.

loobyt · 29/12/2009 19:25

Hello, can I join you ladies? I've joined the September thread but think I am actually due 25th August.

Like everybody else I am knackered!

Hope everyone has a lovely Christmas and thinking of those that are having a difficult time of things

girlsyearapart · 29/12/2009 19:27

Talking about Gavin amd Stacey you have reminded me.. on Christmas Day my Dad said to DH 'Well at least you're not firing blanks like Gavin' CRINGE.

Alicehasamincepieintheoven · 29/12/2009 19:33

Dog I plan to potter about a bit, maybe do some dressage and try to keep myself and horses ticking along. I have a TB ex racehorse and a 15hh IDxTB who is a superstar.
With my last pregnancy i was still competing at 13weeks (i did my first ODE on my mare who was 6 at 12weeks) and didn't have any problems. I got launched by a pony at 12 weeks and really hurt my back, but all fine as baby very well protected still. Unfortunately someones loose horse trampled me at 19+5wks and broke my leg in 4 places requiring surgery. Was really crap tbh and was very anemic (lost a lot of blood through surgery) so horses ended up having about 6/7months off all in all but didn't do them any harm. Have you got any one who could share her with you for the next year or so? Or some mad teenager willing to ride in exchange for helping you out?

I was thinking the same, just looked at the clock though and it's not even 9 . 9.30 I think I'll head up! Mind you, DD was up at 6am and cried for the first two hours of the day as she's got incisors cutting through, poor girl.
