I got my BFP yesterday, AF not due til Sunday Tested again this morning just to make sure I didn't dream it.

Have been very sick already which is what prompted me to test, also very very tired.

Looking forward to seeing other people on this exciting journey

Wanted to add my condolances to girlsyearapart had noticed you as you obviously have had girls a year apart - hope so, guessed this from the name - and my first two older sons are a year apart (now 6 & 7) and we had the same due date in August.

Hope you are okay and I will be thinking of you today. x x x

stuffedmk · 21/12/2009 09:14

Hope everyone one is feeling well,(ish) and here's to a bust week.

liahgenispreggerswithnumber6 · 21/12/2009 10:13

MrsZ Am so sorry I missed your news,

bigmuther65 · 21/12/2009 10:43

Welcome to MrsZ and stuffed always good to see grats from august bus..
Also welcome to allstarprincess sound like you have had a really bad time, i have had 2 mc,s this year i know the effect it has had on me, but what has happened to you sound horrific.Every thing crossed for you this time, and hoping 2011 is our year.

Well i am still being very sick and it is wearing me down going to my anti natal 2 day so may discuss about some anti nausea tablets, weird though as had a good day Saturday, but back with a vengeance yesterday and 2 day.

stuffedmk · 21/12/2009 10:48

Have started spotting so am not sure what to think now
Keeping everything crossed!!

Alicehasamincepieintheoven · 21/12/2009 10:55

Welcome newbies

Good luck to all of those who are off to the dr's today. Fingers crossed for you all.

BigMuther - i have started using the sea sickness bands and they really work! Feel i am more hungry though.....

Bewler · 21/12/2009 12:28

Welcome newbies and congratulations!

Girlsyearapart I'm really sorry. Will look out for news from your scan

HerbalHolly that's the DD I worked out from various calendars but doctor put me at 14th . I have short cycles though and I realised afterwards he must have just assumed I was a text book 28 day-er. Will see what the scan says (not till end of Jan/ first week of Feb which feels like a LIFETIME away).

Two things about me:

  1. I can speak Japanese
  1. I'm pant wettingly scared of being eaten by a shark and am plagued by the Jaws theme music everytime I venture into water (yes that includes a swimming pool) [patheticemoticon]
Allthe8s · 21/12/2009 12:53

girlsyearapart I am so sorry to read your news. BIG HUGS to you xxxxxxx

ElusiveMoose · 21/12/2009 13:47

Welcome to the newbies . Stuffedmk, I've got fingers crossed for you. I had quite a lot of spotting for about 5 days, roughly around the time my AF was due, and according to the tests I'm still apparently pregnant, so you might just be having implantation spotting.

mrsZaC · 21/12/2009 14:06

Hey girls,

So sorry girlsyearapart..x

Hope things are ok for you stuffed..x

thanks very much lia I'm cuffed to bits, off to the doctors tomorrow

liahgenispreggerswithnumber6 · 21/12/2009 14:42

2 things about me

I am a Doula, (best job in the world)

I am an orphan

Dibbydab · 21/12/2009 15:07

Girlsyearapart big hugs for you

Hello newbies welcome to the rollercoaster...

So I got through my Christmas works party on Friday without getting too much hassle about why I wasn't drinking, fortunately, the one person that would have made a big song and dance about me not drinking (i.e. me being a boring old moo) marched over to where I was sitting, picked up one of the drinks in front of me (which was someone else's G & T), took a big slug and announced, "Thank Christ for that, I thought you were up the duff for a minute!" She won't be so easy to convince when we go away for work in January, but I'll cross that bridge when I come to it. One day at a time.

I told my best friend over the weekend, she was over the moon, it's soooooo nice to be to have girly chats with someone about it - she has 2 adorable DD's so she will be my font of all knowledge (apart from you wonderful ladies...)

I'm 8 weeks today and have my first midwife appt next Tuesday, then will hopefully get my 12 week scan middle of January which should make it all a bit more real.

2 things about me.

  1. I don't like baked beans to be touching my fried egg and if we got out for a fry up brekky I ask for the egg to be put on another plate
  1. I cry big heaving sobs when I hear "Ben" by Michael Jackson or "Honey" by Bobby Goldsbrough.

Weird me? Nah!

Crazycatlady · 21/12/2009 15:44

Dibbydab your breakfast etiquette makes complete sense. Beans and egg must never ever touch. It's ok if you have sausage on the plate, or large amounts of bacon, as you can create a decent fortification between the two. And either the egg or the beans (but not both) must be on toast, otherwise you get too much spreading about on the plate and it's just all wrong .

mrsZaC · 21/12/2009 15:45

hehe dibbydab itsn't it like treading on eggshells when your trying to avoid telling people why your not drinking.. I ended up telling my mum & dad last night as they were mightly suspicious when I turned down a G&T, especially with christmas coming up thought I'd better fess up, they were somwhat shocked but delighted (I think).

I'm strangely feeling a-ok just now, nothing much to report, very tired today and slightly queezy but not much else.

two things about me...

  1. I'm aspiring to be a full time wedding/portrait photographer
  1. I LOVE brussel sprouts, and peas.. just can't get enough!
PoppyIsApain · 21/12/2009 15:50

Hi ladies, can you advise me as to when i should bother to get my doc's appointment, i feel like i should do it now as ill have to wait about 2 weeks till i get an appointment, im 4 weeks pg now, or will i get away with waiting till after new year which will make me about 8 weeks by the time i get appointment. Is 8 weeks abit late as then ill have to wait for midwife app.
Help, im confusing myself

stuffedmk · 21/12/2009 15:52

This seems too much like AF to think otherwise at the moment so I shall say goodbye for now.

Alicehasamincepieintheoven · 21/12/2009 15:58

Stuffed - hopefully we will see you back again soon, take care

Poppy - i am having my antenatal app on 4th jan when i will be 8/9weeks. My dr's don't want to see you before 8 weeks. Give yours a ring to make sure they don't want to see you sooner.

I am actually able to eat through the nausea which i couldn't do last time, so fear i could be huge this time

PoppyIsApain · 21/12/2009 16:30

Thanks alice, i have rung them and i have an appointment on the 30th Dec with my own doc.

Stuffed thinking of you x

liahgenispreggerswithnumber6 · 21/12/2009 17:04

Oh stuffed hope things look up for you soon.

Am I the only one thats told everyone then? Sseems you are all avoiding telling but after 5 dc's and 3 mc.s I have learned that you need support whatever so we tell from the off now. (that and stops people thinking I'm a miserable cow when I'm ill with Ms and won't go anywhere )

Missus84 · 21/12/2009 17:19

Poppy - I went to see my GP at 6/7 weeks, but it was a bit underwhelming! All she did was check my blood pressure and tell me to make a midwife appointment. The midwives where I am don't want to see you til 10 weeks anyway, so I have an appointment for 5 th January.
