I got my BFP yesterday, AF not due til Sunday Tested again this morning just to make sure I didn't dream it.

Have been very sick already which is what prompted me to test, also very very tired.

Looking forward to seeing other people on this exciting journey

Hey Bewler and ElusiveMoose we have the same DD! Have you been for any appointments or scan or anything yet? I'm going to see the GP on monday, apparently I have to see the doc before I can see the midwife as I'm new to that medical centre... Any idea what might happen in the appointment? Do they do any tests or pokings?

I'm been feeling sick and (weirdly) have been sneezing lots but I guess sneezing's probably not related...

How are you feeling?

Crazycatlady · 19/12/2009 13:23

Herbalholly I sneezed precisely once a day throughout my last pregnancy. Was most odd.

I wouldn't expect much at your appointment, it's usually quite a let down when you're so excited about being PG! They will ask when your last period was, which hospital you'd like to be referred to, how many times you've been pregnant, ask about alcohol consumption and whether you're taking folic acid and may possibly check your blood pressure. That's about it.

Since you're new to that centre they might also do a few other general things they do with all new patients like ask you to fill in a health questionnaire and weigh you etc.

Am feeling very nauseous and very emotionally on edge today. Have already had a huge fight with DH and cried three times today. All hormone related I know. Pah!

Alicehasamincepieintheoven · 19/12/2009 13:38

HerbalHolly take a urine sample with you in case they want one. Saves a lot of faffing in the surgery loos

bigmuther65 · 19/12/2009 15:13

Feel better today still quite nauseas but just enjoyed lunch, first time i have enjoyed food for a few days had crusty warm bread and some chicken. Its wired how you always feel better after food.Done all my Christmas shopping on the Internet so hope it arrives in time for Christmas.Trying to relax today watching jack frost on tv love all the corny Christmas films, may even crack open the liquorice allsorts.
hmm 2 things about myself
1..Starting again with big age gap 2 ds,s 13&16

2..Im a clean freak love house work hate mess

santaschristmascakeywakey · 19/12/2009 17:09

I'm laid up today with a horrible case of diarrhoea. I'm not sure if it's hormonal, the pannini I ate in town yesterday or a reaction to licking God knows how many envelopes on Christmas cards over the last few days

Am in bed feeling very sorry for myself, and hoping it has no effect on my developing pregnancy.

Hmmmm, two things about me:

  1. I can't ever get enough of tea and cake
  1. I don't like mash. Yuk!
Crazycatlady · 19/12/2009 17:15

Oh cakey me too

Though it might have been the KFC I had for lunch

FloweryBoots · 19/12/2009 17:42

Been out of the loop for a while as went to my folks for a few days to use up leave before Christmas.

Not yet been sick but at exactly 7.40am each day for the last 3 days have heaved for about 10 minutes solid. Suppose I should be greatful it is only brief, but it is pretty extreem and it's making my sides hurt, also makes me late for work!

Now get exhaustd at 9.30pm and turn into a complete cow. Poor DH.

Two things about me:

  1. I play the trumpet
  2. I hate milk and other milky things (yoghurt, ice cream, cream, butter - yuk)

Welcome to all the newbies, there are lots of us now!

PoppyIsApain · 19/12/2009 17:53

I am sooo hungry, all the time, im only 4 weeks...

Alicehasamincepieintheoven · 19/12/2009 18:04

Cakey i had that about a week or so ago and i never get stomach bugs. It was a case of sit on the loo with a bowl on my lap (sorry tmi!)

Poppy i have been eating all day, i start feeling very sick when i get too hungry and then don't want to eat. I think the sea bands are helping to keep the nausea at bay which is allowing me to eat but i feel like i am constantly so starving that my stomach hurts!

Chulita · 19/12/2009 19:48

I had the squits too the other day how odd, it started with horribly painful cramps and I was terrified it was something bad but it was just the squits...
I've not thrown up since Thursday and I haven't been too sick really since Monday so of course I'm wondering what's going on. I'm only 9 weeks so I'm not far gone enough to be getting over the ms surely!
2 things about me:

  1. I grew up in Madagascar
  2. I love liquorice
vix206 · 19/12/2009 19:55

I had the diarrhea as well! I had it for 2 days and felt sooo sick with it but wasn't sick. It lasted 2 days, and lifted yesterday and now I feel absolutely fab. No sickness, no diarrhea... only symptoms are sore boobs and tiredness.

Staying positive and telling myself I won't get nauseous - keep repeating 'pregnancy is a natural state and not an illness' to myself like a mantra! I am really phobic about being sick you see, so I'm trying all I can to avoid feeling nauseous but I know if it gets me, it gets me...

My 2 facts:

  1. I run two online businesses with my husband, one selling luxury lingerie and one selling retro swimwear.
  2. I have a deep fear from childhood, I am scared stiff of E.T
PoppyIsApain · 19/12/2009 20:12

My 2 things;
Iam absolutely obsessed with anything Harry Potter
I am in Love with Johnny Depp

northlondonchoclover · 19/12/2009 20:49

Hi Aug 2010 mums!

Can I join you? I am 6.5 weeks along and due mid Aug! I had a miscarriage in September at around 5 weeks (first time pregnant, we married in August) - it was a complete surprise when the pregnancy test came out positive but then a few days later I started bleeding. It was devastating at the time, so this time around my husband and I are nervous.

So far the pregnancy is going well, (I think!!) no severe contractions like the last time. Slightly swollen and tender breasts and constantly hungry (although could also be due to the freezing weather).

Went to the GP, and she will refer me to a hospital for a scan , sometime in week 10 - 14. It was an underwhelming visit, since there were no checks/ tests. It still seems surreal at this point since there doesn't seem to be any evidence of pregnancy! I guess I am just being paranoid..

Anyway so happy to discover this site and looking forward to sharing this journey with all of you.

BunnyBaby · 19/12/2009 21:58

Hello all you ladies! Thank goodness it's not only me with the squirts! I put it down to maccy d's at lunch, was also sick too, but now feel great. I also has awful stomach pains. About me:

  • i'm not moving we got cold feet just before exchange and I'm now happy and snug in house again. Couldn't face tearing another house apart to do up whilst pregnant!

  • I have 2 lovely garden rabbits are in house escaping cold and giving menacing looks to anyone who sets foot in downstairs loo.

santaschristmascakeywakey · 19/12/2009 22:41

To everyone who's under the weather - here's hoping that we all feel better soon!

Alicehasamincepieintheoven · 20/12/2009 10:47

Have discovered a cure for feeling rubbish!!!!.........Jaffa cakes!! Iron from the dark chocolate, vit C from the orange and carbs to help with the sickness - perfect

Thanks.

DH is upstairs asleep and I have had a friend over to cry on. She's coming back at 4 to cook for me.

Scan tomorrow to check it's all gone.

Can't believe it. I so wanted this baby.

Crazycatlady · 20/12/2009 13:52

She sounds like a good friend, glad you have people there for you.

Life is so unimaginably cruel sometimes, it just doesn't seem fair. Thinking of you xx

Crazycatlady · 20/12/2009 14:05

Hi Santa, lovely to see you here

bigmuther65 · 20/12/2009 15:46

So sorry Girlsyearapart thinking of you

allstarsprincess · 20/12/2009 16:48

Hello,

Due 11th August. Hopefully no problems this time. Have lost at 30 weeks and a TOP at 14 both for conditions that were incompatible with life. Have a DD in between. She is now 2 and I am hoping that this pregnancy will be fine. We are waiting for our 13 week scan though as our condition can only be detected at this point.

In the meantime I would love to join you all in the wishing and waiting game.
