I got my BFP yesterday, AF not due til Sunday Tested again this morning just to make sure I didn't dream it.

Have been very sick already which is what prompted me to test, also very very tired.

Looking forward to seeing other people on this exciting journey

...and welcome to all the new ladies

isheisnthe · 17/12/2009 07:37

am worried today - have had a pain low down in the right hand sign of my abdomen, not constant, but woke me up afew times and took my breath away - have been on NHS website and I have two symptoms of an ectopic pregnancy, this one and painful shoulders. Also my righ thigh is aching like mad.

What will happen if I go to the docs - surely they can't scan to see at 4 weeks pregnant? Although I did have a scan with DS2 at 5 weeks as they thought I had lost him.???

vinocollapso · 17/12/2009 07:46

Hello lovely new people - and thanks to everyone for your nice posts yesterday.

Chulita - hope you get to see someone today? Can't belive your local MW's are so useless!

Ishe - are you bleeding at all? You need to make an appointment straight away to see someone, am pretty sure that they can scan at 4 weeks (internally) to check all ok.

Hang on in there. xx

isheisnthe · 17/12/2009 07:53

no, no bleeding at all - just this "pulling" pain - thats the only way I can decribe it - like something is going to "snap" - don't know if they makes sense but thats how it feels - will make an appointment when they open at 830

vinocollapso · 17/12/2009 08:13

Have you got someone with you, someone who can go with you? I'm keeping everything crossed for you, let me know how you get on. I'm sure it's nothing to worry about, just one of those odd things our bodies do when we're pregnant!

xxxx

bigmuther65 · 17/12/2009 08:22

Good luck today Ishe im sure it will be nothing to worry about, for the last 2 years occasionally i wake in the night with quite a excruciating pain in lower Groin area and after some tests and scans nothing to explain it.Always best to get these thing check though.
Bored of being pregnant now and i am only 5wks 3dys don,t know how long i can cope with feeling like crap.think i am on a feel sorry for my self day, just getting the boys sorted out for school and collage feel like i have done a days work and ready for bed.Even though tea or coffee make me gag really miss it in the morning.

isheisnthe · 17/12/2009 09:25

Feel a bit of a fraud tho - as there is nothing hurting now - but have managed to get a cancellation at 9350 this am - DH insisting on coming with me.

Going to nip out of work on the quiet tho I think, as if I start making Dr's appointments when they are already couting down to my pregnancy announcement after not drinking the other night the cat really will be out of the bag!

Fingers crossed - I am sure everything will be fine... Will update when I get back.

JinglingJamieJayBells · 17/12/2009 09:31

isheisnthe - I had a lot of pulling type pain around the same time. I was told it was common and that I only really needed to worry if the pain really stopped in my track so I couldn't do things and if there was any blood.

I also ached all over and still do!!

Good luck, it's a good idea to get it checked out but I don't think you necessarily need to think the worse.

Alicehasamincepieintheoven · 17/12/2009 09:43

Isheisnthe good luck at the Dr's.
I had this when pg with DD and was sent for a scan because they thought it was ectopic. It was all fine, just a type of ovulation pain due to the egg follicle sealing (or something) I have the same this time too, but i am not worrying because last time was ok

Feeling really tired today, and quite queasy. I want to go into hibernation!

isheisnthe · 17/12/2009 10:37

Hi all

Dr had a good feel around, said it sounded perfectly normal and not to worry as long as there wasn't any blood - said he wouldn't send me for a scan as they wouldn't scan me this early anyway if I was not losing blood.

Love my Dr, he is such a nice man - felt very reassured, even when he started to tell me miscarrige stats.

When I went in and said I was pregant he said "oh, I was hoping you were going to sayt that!, Well done, you only had the coil out a month ago!"

So, I am 4 weeks 3 days since last period which he says makes me 2 weeks 3 days pregnant!

Fingers crossed bean stays put.

Chulita · 17/12/2009 11:05

I'm so pleased it's good news isheisnthe Your Dr does sound nice I don't like mine at all, I'm thinking of changing practices 'cept this one's 2 mins walk away and the other one's a 10 min drive.

I'm still throwing up, I've got so much saliva going on as well it's gross. I just want these weeks to go so I can stop bringing everything back up...

bigmutha I hope something really lovely happens to you today to cheer you up!

vinocollapso · 17/12/2009 11:19

Hey, that's great news Ishe, really pleased for you.

Bigmutha, you poor thing, it's hard work, especially if you're feeling rough. The time will fly by though, and before you know it, yu'll be moaning about sleepless nights and teething! With you on the morning coffee, though - herbal tea just isn't the same.

The only thing that really cures my ms is Cobra alcohol free beer! How weird is that? Can't really drink that at my desk, though....or can I????? xxx

Bewler · 17/12/2009 12:19

vino you could have a little flask of it, who would know? I've got two bottles of the stuff in my fridge and everytime I see them I boak. Horrid. Would love to be able to give them to you!

Good news ishe! Hope he have an excuse to put your feet up and chillax

Bewler · 17/12/2009 12:20

Hope you have an excuse

isheisnthe · 17/12/2009 12:59

that would be nice - but I am at work and about to go to a boring meeting!

birdofthenorth · 17/12/2009 15:05

Hey there

I only found out I was pregnant on Monday -it'll be 5 weeks tomorrow.

Now I'm getting constant period-type pains though -is this normal or bad news? There's now blood, just ongoing cramps.

I'm a frist timer so have no idea if it's supposed to feel like this!

Thanks xx

Alicehasamincepieintheoven · 17/12/2009 16:54

Hi Bird

I think cramps are normal. This is my 2nd pg and have had them with both. But if you are worried, see your Dr. I guess you meant no blood rather than now blood?

I have just bought some ginger and lemon tea to help with the nausea but it is vile! Did i read that someone is using sea sickness bands? Do they really help?

santaschristmascakeywakey · 17/12/2009 17:09

Hello everyone - I found out that No.2 is on the way yesterday! Am trying to stay level-headed, like many of the other posters I've miscarried before so am trying to keep a lid on my excitement until the first scan.

Feeling a bit eggy, and can feel things are on the move and changing, but generally ok.

Am going to be so busted by all my friends and family over the next few weeks because I never normally turn down a glass of wine .

Crazycatlady · 17/12/2009 17:12

I used sea sickness bands last time alice. They really helped as long as I put them on immediately on getting up and didn't wait until I actually felt sick.

Cramps are normal birdof, I had them last time from before my BFP until about 6 weeks and then again from about 38 weeks until 42 weeks. This time haven't had so many.

Am bloody freezing. Just walked up the hill to fetch DD from nursery and it is SO cold outside. Hibernation day tomorrow I think . DH has baked some cantucci so I'm going to stay at home and gorge on them.

Crazycatlady · 17/12/2009 17:14

Welcome cakey

Another second timer! How old is your first?

birdofthenorth · 17/12/2009 17:43

Thanks Alice and Crazy, that's really reassuring to know! They've calmed down a little now but for a few hours earlier they were really disconcerting! Hopefully will pass altogether in a few days. Google told me it's 'implantation' or 'embedding' pains -good to know there's a name and a purpose for it!

Yup I meant no blood not now blood, thankfully!

Congrats Cakey!

Missus84 · 17/12/2009 18:30

birdofthenorth - yep, I had period type cramps a lot as well from about 4 to 6 weeks, apparently it's because your uterus is stretching and growing. Around week 6 the cramps tailed off and the sickness began!

KayloHalo · 17/12/2009 18:30

Welcome Newbies

Just think theres not long to go now for sickness and horrible-ness hopefully. Thats what I keep telling myself anyway...sickness and exhaustion combines is just yuk! Yuk to the point that I can't be bothered to go and be sick - I literally have to force myself before I puke everywhere Gross, I know.

It snowed here today, pretty to watch but deadly to drive in. Roads are so slippery and it's still snowing now so it's gonna be bad in the morning if it freezes overnight. I'm dreading school run in the morning cos the school is on a hill. Don't wanna crash my car again!! Already almost wrote my car off in January cos of the bloody ice!!!!!

Love to all xxxxx

RooMeister · 17/12/2009 19:52

Hello All

Hope you don't me dropping in. I'll be 5 weeks tomorrow (I think!) with my first. I'm v excited but doesn't feel real yet...

I've got my work christmas do tomorrow and I have no idea how I'm going to manage stealth alcohol-avoidance!

birdofthenorth I have had lots of cramps too, and I was really bloated although I seem to have deflated a bit today.

Best wishes to everyone at this exciting time x

santaschristmascakeywakey · 17/12/2009 19:53

Hi crazycatlady, DD has just turned two. If all goes well with the bump, suppose I'd better be a little more motivated on the potty training front. Would prefer not to have two in nappies at the same time!

So are you a second timer too? I can't believe that in less than a year's time, I could be a Mum of two. It's mad
