I got my BFP yesterday, AF not due til Sunday Tested again this morning just to make sure I didn't dream it.

Have been very sick already which is what prompted me to test, also very very tired.

Looking forward to seeing other people on this exciting journey

Crazycatlady - omigod, yes. I had to walk to work hugging my chest like those teenage girls who go out all skimpily dressed with no coat except my frozen nips were under 4 layers of clothing. Agony!

isheisnthe · 16/12/2009 10:01

I didnt know with ds1 but ds 2 I just knew, if you see what I mean. Not bothered what I have but am getting outnumbered - even the cat is a boy!

vix206 · 16/12/2009 10:03

Eurgh, I woke up this morning with terrible nausea and (TMI) diarrhea as well Managed to get myself into work and have eaten 3 crackers now. Hope this isn't going to be the norm from now on, I am so bad at feeling sick. How is everyone else faring? I hear you on the cold = even sorer nips!!

Crazycatlady · 16/12/2009 10:29

Crackers are the way forward vix. I literally cannot face the day now until I've had four crackers with butter and marmite.

Still haven't actually been sick, and wasn't at all last time, but definitely feeling more nauseous as the days go on, bleurgh...

vix206 · 16/12/2009 10:35

yes crackers are definitely a girl's best friend right now! I can only face them plain this morning but maybe I'll be more adventurous later on. ;)

vinocollapso · 16/12/2009 10:51

I feel awful telling this news when it?s been such a sad week for others (and my thoughts are very much with you), but I had my 8+4 week scan today and there was a clear little heartbeat.

So pleased and relieved,], and although there is still a long way to go, I feel much calmer, as last time to bean died at 7 weeks.

Annoyingly, after saying that we could tell people at Christmas, my DH has now said we should wait. Cross, but I understand.

How is everyone else doing today? Asides from manic cracker eating and nipple protecting?

xx

Crazycatlady · 16/12/2009 11:06

SNOW, waaaahhh!!

Crazycatlady · 16/12/2009 11:09

Brilliant news vino you must be so relieved. I know it's bittersweet though when others are having such an awful time.

We're not sure yet whether to tell family at Christmas. What's everyone else doing? Scan won't be until mid/late Jan...

vix206 · 16/12/2009 11:11

vino that is great news about the scan! x

I've just ordered myself one of these for the office

www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/0670227.htm

So if I do feel ill during the day I have something to lie down on. I run my own business which means that I won't be able to take much time off (or the business will suffer) but at least I can install a few luxuries around the office to help make it easier. Plus I have come in today with no makeup looking rough as houses and it doesn't matter because the only other person here is DH!

Bewler · 16/12/2009 11:39

vino - wonderful news! You must have felt great afterwards . How was your DH? did he shed a little tear?

bigmuther65 · 16/12/2009 12:27

Wow thats great news vino must of felt wonderful.
Got a hot water bottle for my boobs lol

Mummy369 · 16/12/2009 12:50

Feeling rather sad today after all the losses. My best friend also lost her Bean this week Am struggling between guilty and paranoid (TMI alert - loads of discharge and keep checking it's not blood!)

The form we need for free dental treatment etc.. is FW8 which is available when you book with the midwife. I think if you ask the GP nicely they might issue it, or else contact your MWs and explain your dental appt is just before you book - could you collect the FW8?

MrsGazebo · 16/12/2009 13:47

Hi Ladies, first of all I am so sorry to see some of your news. I hope you all have love and support at this time. The little people that will come into our lives will be worth waiting for.

This is my 6th pregnancy I have high uNK cells and I'm taking part in a trial at The Womens Hospital in Liverpool.
So, I'm in "limbo" so to speak. I am currently 7+1 and constantly knicker checking .

I've been lurking a little and actually promised myself not to join/comment till we had a 2nd scan at 8 weeks but wanted to say I'm thinking of you all. Xxx

vinocollapso · 16/12/2009 14:40

Bewler - yes, he did sort of well up. The awful thing was it that the womna who went in before me obviously had terrible news, and I felt so terrible for her, and it such a bittersweet feeling, as Crazy says.

Apologies for all of the grammar and spelling errors in my last post - I'm slightly distracted, esp as we have also just completed on our new house. Dear god - how do I cope with all of this without the aid of wine?! Luckily the thought makes me want to hurl!

Thanks for the FW8 form, Mummy369 - reminded me I need to sort mine out too.

xx

Crazycatlady · 16/12/2009 14:41

Hi MrsGazebo, you'll find lots of friendly support here so when you feel like posting you know we're here. Just one week until that scan, although I'm sure it'll feel like for eeeeeevvveerrr... xx

midori1999 · 16/12/2009 14:46

I've been directed at this thread by isheisnthe, as I have just found out I am pregnant with no. 4! I think I am due on 24th August. Eek!!!

Morning sickness already sadly, and was only due AF yesterday. Sat here munching slowly on some rice crackers and trying to force a cup of tea down.

Congrats to you all!

MrsGazebo · 16/12/2009 15:23

Thank you Crazycatlady, that's good to know!
I feel weird actually... I think with Christmas coming up and I'm going to be MANIC!! in work the next week hopefully should pass quite quickly

Don't want to build our hopes up too much but can't help getting a little carried away.
We've seen a heartbeat at 6 weeks (1st time!)
So it's looking brighter than the last 5 scans did!
I wish all fellow Newbiees sticky beany baby dust and look forward to getting to know you all

Crazycatlady · 16/12/2009 15:42

Welcome midori! Sorry about the morning sickness already, booooo.

I think you're right MrsGazebo it will go quick, so much to do before Christmas.

This time last year I was 39 weeks pregnant with DD so we didn't plan anything for Christmas and the time went sooooo slowly as I had nothing to do. And then she didn't turn up until 9 January .

Nikalah · 16/12/2009 15:55

Hello & Welcome to all new ladies!

I've been feeling as rough as hell Aussieng I sympathise with you. Even cried on my drive to work Monday morning at the thought of having to keep this up for another 1-2 months. My wabbers are now officially huge - Going to have to buy a wheel-barrow to carry these things in!

Chulita · 16/12/2009 16:33

Welcome to the newcomers

Ok, I've got a bit of a dilemma... I'm 8+5 and I can't get hold of a MW. I've been given 2 mobile numbers, one is always turned off and the other one rings but no one answers it. I got an answer on Monday and the lady said she'd ask the MW to call me but she hasn't so I've been trying since and nothing. I asked the doctor's if I could book a MW appt but I have to phone her and her phone's always off.
I'm panicking a bit because I'll be 9 weeks this weekend, 10 on Boxing Day and 11 the day after New Year's so I'm feeling like if I don't speak to her this week I'm not going to get anything sorted til I'm quite well gone and definitely through the 1st trimester. I'm not quite sure what to do because I really just want to get this done but I have no idea how to contact her and things just shut down a bit over the holidays...not to mention if she's this hard to reach when it's routine what chance in hell do I have if there's an emergency?!
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGHHHH!
Sorry, I'm just so peed off at the mo...

BunnyBaby · 16/12/2009 20:26

vino congratulations on completion. First time buyers at bottom of our chain are stalling, and we're getting cold feet. If we don't exchange tomorrow we're not going to move. Especially with baby on the way.

chulita know what u mean about Midwifes, hospital website says you can self refer, so rang to speed up, but they said they still need to wait for doctor referral letter which was sent last week, and may need to wait a few more weeks! Grrr

Missus84 · 16/12/2009 20:30

Wow, that sounds like a terrible situation Chulita. Is there just one midwife where you are? Can you contact a midwife through your hospital?

Missus84 · 16/12/2009 20:33

Isn't it crazy how different the systems are in different places? After I saw my GP she just told me to go to the reception desk of the health centre, ask for the ante-natal clerk, and make a booking-in appointment.

Chulita · 16/12/2009 21:05

At my last GP they sent a referral letter and it was all sorted out by 6 weeks, here the doctor told me to ring the mw, no referral letter and only one number. I got the other one by harassing the receptionist. Thankfully DH rang the second number tonight (I'd given up after 5 attempts with no answer) and he just let it ring and ring to the point of embarrassment and then told the lady off when she answered it worked though, she said I'm in her diary for tomorrow! Yay!
And yes, there is only one mw for the area, we're in the arse end of nowhere...

tiany · 16/12/2009 21:31

Chulita - good work by your DH!!

Vino - big congrats, it must feel good

Crazycatlady - my DH also wants to hold off until we have first scan which is end of Jan. I kind of agree, i mean its sensible BUT i am not sure i will be able to spend that much time with my mam and sisters and not say anything!!! (this would be first in our famliy)

I am now praying to be snowed in, duvet day
