I got my BFP yesterday, AF not due til Sunday Tested again this morning just to make sure I didn't dream it.

Have been very sick already which is what prompted me to test, also very very tired.

Looking forward to seeing other people on this exciting journey

aussieeng with last pg I slept almost entirely on the right simply because I couldn't stay on the left.
I'm off hot drinks too and I've been living in trackie Bs for the last week because I haven't left the house much I think I'll be in maternity stuff soon...7+3 and already considering maternity jeans...I lasted til about 20 weeks with the last one!

ElusiveMoose · 09/12/2009 16:41

Hi ladies, can I join your gang? Got my BFP about a week and a half ago. Was a bit nervous of joining the thread before now because I've been TTC for what seems like ages (8 months) and I had quite a bit of spotting early on, which I'm now hoping was just implantation bleeding. Did a CB test a couple of days ago and it said 3+ weeks pregnant, though, so I'm feeling a bit more optimistic now!

Hate to tell you, but I'm feeling basically fine - occasional little waves of nausea and dizziness, but otherwise no symptoms. I was the same with DS all the way through - dream pregnancy (but nightmare birth!!).

Was hoping they might send me for an early scan because of the bleeding, but no. I'm now hoping that I get booked in with the midwives before Christmas - has anyone got a booking in date yet?

As for telling people, I don't really want to tell before the scan, but to be honest I don't think I'll be able to hide it over Christmas. I'm staying with family for a whole week, which is a long time to come up with excuses for not having any wine or stilton!

By the way, further to someone else's tip on the fake gin and tonic... If you're really gasping for a proper drink, take a glass and just wipe a tissue dipped in gin around the rim. Then fill the glass up with tonic and lime, and voila, it tastes like a G&T. Desperate, moi?

Am also symptom spotting - don't know why but I'm more nervous this time. Am trying to eat breakfast (not my favourite meal of the day) and usually enjoy a cuppa on the long drive to work - but stomach VERY queasy after this! Also feeling bloated and hungry for the rest of the day - and definitely don't want to put loads of weight on!

Urgh, first experience of morning sickness today. Managed not to be sick but was a bit taken a back by how suddenly I felt ill. One minute fine, the next struck still by the sudden sick feeling.

Taking the libertty of updating stats as I seem to ahve got missed (probably because posted to say Hi, then haven't had a chance to come back and say anything else!)

Sorry you felt sick FloweryBoots

Just updated the list to show that this will be my first! Feel so lucky as its only cycle 2 of trying, and cycle 1 barely counts as we were both ill with a heavy cold and too poorly to try properly!

Just been trying to catch up. What's this issue with sleeping on your right hadn side? That's how I always sleep, and any other way just won't work (which is killing my right shoulder unfortuantely).

Have added myself to the list! Lots of ppl on the 1st/2nd!!!!

I'm feeling ok today - worked this morning and then had a nice long nap with DS on the sofa this afternoon. He's still recovering from his bug but went to nursery this morning and was fine.

Am feeling strong nesting instinct! Anyone else? I keep feeling the need to tidy the laundry room and the cupboard under the stairs! Very odd!

Hope everyone is having a relaxing evening!

Crazycatlady · 09/12/2009 19:05

Elusive you have taken my fake G&T concept to a whole new level, I love it. God just the smell of a G&T really appeals at the moment!

Am WIPED OUT this evening. Busy day but definitely beginning to feel more pregnant tired IYKWIM.

DD at childminder tomorrow and i'm supposed to be writing the copy for my website but I may use some of the time to sleep instead!

sayanything · 09/12/2009 19:22

NichyNoo, I don't know if you saw my other post - I asked my friend and her doctor was Dr Limbosch.

Alicehasamincepieintheoven · 09/12/2009 19:29

That G&T trick is genius!

I have just hoovered up an enormous dinner and finished DD and DH's too In my defence i haven't eaten a proper meal since last thursday...

When i was pg with DD i went completely off meat and gravy but at the moment i just really want meat

Hello! Can I join you all? I got a BFP yesterday, think I'm due about 22nd August. This one will be baby number 2! Can't join in the discussions about symptoms as have have NONE! Zip, zilch, nada . Not that I'm complaining, I really hate feeling sick so hoping I'll just skip that stage completely and get to the blooming, fresh clean skin, silky thick hair stage instead (this never happened to me last time - I looked rough all the way through ).

Alicehasamincepieintheoven · 10/12/2009 08:49

Morning

Welcome to all newbies

I was soooo ill in the night Like having the worst tummy bug, when you need to sit on the loo with a bowl on your lap (sorry if tmi) but srangely after about half hour of feeling like i was going to die, i felt ok and slept fine I think it was probably to do with eating so much yesterday after not eating a full meal for a week.

Anyway, i hope you are all ok, have a good day

KayloHalo · 10/12/2009 08:58

Morning girls.

Alice That sounds awful - glad you're feeling better now.

Moose at your no symptoms last time.

Welcome to Twinkle

Well I feel like an ultimate fraud today as all my abdomen pains have gone, not had anymore spotting. Am getting SPD like pains tho in my pelvis and hips. Surely it's too early for SPD? Sciatica also decided to arrive before schedule. I usually get sciatica around 25 weeks, so am a bit by it all.
My colleagues are taking bets to see how many babies I'm having cos I don't fit in my regular clothes anymore [already!!!]

Will update you all later xxx scan is at 1:35pm xx

bouncingblueberries · 10/12/2009 09:13

Good luck Kaylo!

Nothing much to report here. Not too bad a day yesterday, except lack of full blown nausea encouraged me to eat for Scotland. I was such a pig and then dh cooked up a HUGE vege chilli with mountains of white rice AND homemade tortilla chips and I hoovered up the lot

Funnily enough, felt a bit ill after all that and have vowed to eat smaller meals from now on. I really don't want to end up the whale that I was last time!

Aussieng · 10/12/2009 10:14

Good luck Kaylo. FloweryBoots Most Dr's (not all) It is to do with allowing your liver to do its job to the best of its ability and not overstraining your kidneys. I'm slightly anxious about this one because my kidneys are a bit whingey.

Felt sick nearly all night. I've been feeling like this for 3 weeks now with approx aother 5 to go (all being well) so I burst in to tears all over DH at the thought. He sensitively responded by taking a photo of me crying

It feels like a really bad hang-over - sickly, slightly shivery, slightly dizzy (like the room is swaying) hungry but sick at the thought of eating and dehydrated. No wonder I am right off alcohol! I gave in and bought some cream crackers this morning which are now hidden under my desk.

Aussieng · 10/12/2009 10:16

should have said Most Dr's (not all) recommend sleeping on LHS once bump has developped.

BunnyBaby · 10/12/2009 10:18

Good luck today Kaylo, sounds like all is well.

I'm just getting barrel shaped, but sure this is carbs!

My Dad's been down to see us 3 times in the last 2 weeks. He is a Christmas Pudding monster and usually I love them too. However baby doesn't and I've been struck with the worst indigestion ever afterwards and not been able to sleep as stuffed. Needless to say, Christmas Puddings now make me gag at the thought. Apparently he did the same thing to mum when she was expecting me!

BunnyBaby · 10/12/2009 11:18

Brain now officially mush. Spent 20 minutes remembering pin numbers for two cards I use every other day! Have written them down in case I forget again!

Feeling a bit blocked up so upped the fruit and fruit juice though seems to take a while to work.

Still feel nauseous, could really smell dog pee on street furniture on walk to tube, bleurgh!

vix206 · 10/12/2009 13:06

BunnyBaby I've been the same with pin numbers, and even forgot one of my best friends flat number when I have been there at least once a week for the past 2 years!!

Anyone else feeling really hungry but no appetite/can't face eating? I feel a bit queasy but I know I am starving because my tummy is rumbling. I made myself a sandwich just with cream cheese lightly spread in it but it tastes all wrong like its moldy. DH says it tastes fine to him.

I can stomach cream crackers so I've munched a load of them! I've got a dinner party to cook for on Saturday

BunnyBaby · 10/12/2009 13:17

The sleeping on your left side is to get baby in right position. Baby's spine needs to be between belly button and left hip, and baby will then drop turn clockwise 45degrees and out. Unfortunately for me my stupid midwife did a sweep when I was a few days over, and got me to lift my hips. Baby moved out of engaged position and swung round so baby's spine was now between belly button and right hip. This is referred to as posterior presentation. Baby can't turn back anticlockwise, and needs to go all the way around 270degrees to be born. Hence long labour for me as it took ds 24 hrs to do this and is painful as they get the nerve endings in your back on the way round. Moral of storey, sleep on left. And if you let a midwife do a sweep, insist you're doing it kneeling up. Never on your back. I think this is also reason I went 3 weeks overdue as had show after sweep but ended up bring induced as baby couldn't get low enough to get labour started.
