I got my BFP yesterday, AF not due til Sunday Tested again this morning just to make sure I didn't dream it.

Have been very sick already which is what prompted me to test, also very very tired.

Looking forward to seeing other people on this exciting journey

Hello! I just got my first BFP with an internet cheapie at 9DPO and I'm a bit shell-shocked. Obviously it is very early days for me and many mornings will be started with more POAS but I thought I'd introduce myself as another (hopefully) due in August! According to Fertility Friend it should be August 22nd.

irishmumwannabe · 08/12/2009 20:14

Hi Everyone,

Can I join you all? I got my BFP yesterday and according to the due date calculator I am due on 18th Aug

I had an MC back at the end of July so hopefully this one will stick.

I will read through the thread tonight and try and catch up with all of you.

Thanks

cazzybabs · 08/12/2009 21:41

hello...can i come and join you. Was trying to avoid July/August baby but seemed to have completly failed...still can't beleive it as I am sure I didn't BD at the right moment! anyway..no period for a very ong time and throwing up/feeling sick seems pretty convincing to me...oh well.

This is number 4 - have 3 girls already. Dh is recovering from a head injury (so maybe should have waited until he is back at work but there we go) and had a horrendous MC at 15 weeks in July...and i am off skiing in january...

am excitied really..just panicking slighty

Alicehasamincepieintheoven · 08/12/2009 21:57

Hello Vix, Irishmum and Cazzy

I have completely gone off sugar! I am just craving salt at the moment and then drinking loads of water. I have been sick twice but nearly a few more times. Boobs seem to have grown overnight but not really feeling hormonal yet. Constantly shattered though which is rubbish.

How is everyone else today?

KayloHalo · 08/12/2009 22:48

Hello everyone, sorry there are so many people feeling 5hitty at the moment. Just remember, it doesn't stay forever and it will get better soon then we can all just be lovely blooming ladies

Welcome to all new ladies let it be a happy healthy pregnancy for all.

I'm still feeling green at the gills but more worryingly I woke up this morning with pains in my abdomen and a teeny bit of spotting. So obviously I'm thinking the worst and have a scan scheduled for Thursday so they can check for ectopic. Although throughout the day the pains have eased and I've had no further blood. So now I feel like I'm wasting their time but am not cancelling the scan. I intend to be selfish on that one so I can hopefully see a healthy little bean

Hoping you are all well

xxxxx

vinocollapso · 09/12/2009 07:39

Wow, so many new people, I can't keep up! So a big colelctive hello to everyone and fingers crossed for you all.

Kaylo - hang on in there honey, take it easy and let us know how you get on on Thursday - I'll be thinking of you.

I seem to be feeling worryingly normal again - no sickness anymore, and don't feel as tired. Maybe it's just the calm before the storm. 8 week scan booked for a week today so we shall see. Week 7 was when my last bean mc, so feeling a bit anxious.

Office Christmas lunch today, but have told the people I work with, so don't have to fake the non-drinking excuses.

Happy hump day everyone.

xx

vix206 · 09/12/2009 09:07

Thanks for the welcomes! I'm worrying today too as I took a test this morning thinking the line would be stronger/darker as it was first morning urine, but it was actually fainter. Af due on Saturday so I guess I'll try not to worry and just hang on and keep fingers and toes crossed!

bouncingblueberries · 09/12/2009 09:12

Kaylo hang on in there sweetie. I had lots of spotting with ds and it all turned out to be due to a funny little patch on my cervix that was easily irritated.

Vino I'm feeling relatively normal today too, but it's a bit of a relief really as work is crazy busy and I need to be able to focus today without worrying about barfing!

Also craving salty things - marmite on toast for lunch me thinks!

Welcome to all the newly pregnant ladies

bigmuther65 · 09/12/2009 09:31

NichyNoo where in Belgium are you? I'm in Brussels - been here for 5 years now.

I'm at 5+2, also with no other symptoms apart from achy boobs and a bit of fatigue - thus I'm terrified. I have a doctor's appointment on the 17th (so I'll be 6+1) and my dr should do an echo. I'm alternating between excitement and panic at the thought.

Aussieng · 09/12/2009 10:23

Kaylo good luck for tomorrow. hang on in. I've had lots of cramps - constipation and just generally a reaction to things stretching and compresing other things inside of you.

Vino enjoy the non sickness days - I worried all through my last one and now after 2 weeks of feeling rubbish all day I would love a normal feeling day.

Fingers crossed for everyone with scans over the next week or so that it puts your minds at rest and you can chillax.

Hello to all the newbies. I know its stressful but hopefully we will all have good Xmas breaks and hurtle quickly into the second trimester in Jan and start to enjoy things a bit more.

Nikalah · 09/12/2009 11:05

Hey Everyone - it's so good reading how you're all feeling - it's really reassuring.

I've been having horrible period-style pains, I'm absolutely shattered, constant nausea and finally really really tender boobs.

Does anyone else have huge boobs anyway? I'm a 34F I was considering a reduction but obviously that's out of the window for the time being - I'm really aware of them anyway and am DREADING them getting any bigger. As it is every time I move in the night I'm woken up - it's just sooo uncomfortable.

Sorry for the winge - beside that all is good and it's great to hear how you're all progressing. x x

duchesse · 09/12/2009 11:09

Just dropping by from the August 2009 thread to wish you all the very best. August will be around a lot quicker than you think at the moment. And by the end of January, you may all start to feel a lot better. Hang in there!

I can't believe there is already an August thread- my baby's only 3 months old!

bouncingblueberries · 09/12/2009 11:54

HI Nikalah - I'm a 32 GG usually and I think I went up to a J cup with my last pregnancy!

This time round though, I'm not putting up with horrid bras that give you a mono-boob. Off to Bravissimo at lunchtime to get fitted for some nice new bras. I found last time that wearing a soft, non-wired cotton bra at night gave my boobs just enough support so they didn't ache so much.

NichyNoo · 09/12/2009 12:07

Kaylo good luck for tomorrow - hope it is all OK.

sayanything - I'm in Brussels too, lived here for 7 years. I work near the European Parliament. I'm 5+4 and don't have my first scan until 19th January so will have a very worried xmas ad new year.

Which gynae are you with? My doctor recommended a woman in St Elisabeth but I find the responsibility of having to chose your own gynae and hosptial a bit daunting seen as I know nothing!

I did a clearblue digitial this morning as you all recommeded yesterday - it said 3+ weeks...yipee!!!! And my boobs have resumed hurting today!

Alicehasamincepieintheoven · 09/12/2009 12:21

Thanks Duchesse it does seem a long way off.

Nikalah - I am a 32F usually but my bras are now a bit snug. I also have period cramps but not worried this time as i had it last time too.

BouncingBlueBerries - i have gone off anything sweet and i am also craving salt. Roast beef MonsterMunch are hitting the spot

Off to have my haircut this afternoon so hoping that will lift my mood a bit

sayanything · 09/12/2009 12:29

NN we work quite close to each other, I'm at RP Schuman.

My gynae is Helene Melice, she's in Avenue de l'Opale, which is a short bus ride away from where I work - she collaborates with Erasme in Ixelles.

I used to see Dr De Clippel at Centre Medicale Montgomery (Av de l'Armée in Etterbeek) who is also very very nice and good, but then she went on maternity leave and I found my current doctor on a recommendation and decided to stick with her. I also did a full check up last year at Medicis and found Dr De Vylder there to be top-notch, if a bit forbidding.

Tbh, I wouldn't worry too much about choosing a hospital, as they all seem to be very good here, and would concentrate more on finding a gynae you're comfortable with. A friend of mine gave birth at St Elisabeth, I'll ask her who her doctor was and what she thought and let you know.

Sorry for the Brussels-centric post everyone!

Chulita · 09/12/2009 12:58

Grr! I've been crying and throwing up all day...this is so crap. I need to take DD out for a walk but I just don't have the energy. Thank God I don't have to work!
Strangely I couldn't stomach anything until I tried Pepsi and a mince pie and that stayed down
Hope everyone who's feeling rough picks up for the weekend (ok it's a few days off yet but I'm desperate for DH to be home for the day!)

Missus84 · 09/12/2009 13:01

Urgh, I'm 6+3 now and the morning sickness has kicked in! I threw up while brushing my teeth this morning At least it does seem to be confined to the mornings at the moment, and I feel better by about 10ish.

BunnyBaby · 09/12/2009 13:25

Hello everyone and welcome Scotch! I'm feeling sicky and very emotional Nspcc adverts and 'buy pressie for child without one' are setting me off. Really missing Ds1 who is in nursery 3 days a week and just want to be with him. Must be getting hormonal as very protective of my space at the moment. Finding it hard to concentrate at work.

JinglingJamieJayBells · 09/12/2009 13:45

6+2 here, symptoms all gone just a bit tired but that could be becasue DH kept me awake all night (he's broken his foot and has a chest infection).

Can't quite believe it but I'm jealous of those of you that have morning sickness - feeling worried due to mc last time so hopefully going to see GP tomorrow to get a referral to EPU for scan.

Sorry for the 'me, me, me' post - hope everyone else is okay

Crazycatlady · 09/12/2009 14:11

Welcome all the new ladies!

I'm struggling to keep up already...

Sorry to those feeling crap, the first trimester really is rubbish isn't it? I'm feeling quite nauseous at about 6am, but once I'm up and had a little toast I feel better. I think there is much worse to come though judging by last time.

Ooh Marmite... there's an idea, thanks blueberries

Aussieng · 09/12/2009 14:27

Alice it is beef hula hoops for me at the minute . They are currently what passes for breakfast!

Nikalah - my boobs feel like udders basically. They are huge and I have to physically lift them when I try and turn over in bed at night or they drag and ache

Speaking of turning over, is anyone else trying to get used to sleeping on their left hand side at the moment? I have been trying LHS because this would be my least favoured position so I have been trying to get used to it. Can't sleep on stomach any more because boobs hurt anyway but when I try to sleep on my LHS I keep waking up on my back. RHS is fine but I know that is not a good way to sleep. As if its not hard enough trying to get a good night's sleep!

BigMomma3 · 09/12/2009 14:47

Hi All, just got back from a 5hr shopping trip and almost fainted because I had'nt eaten since 8.00am. Never had that before so pregnancy must muck around with blood sugar levels. Had to have 4 crumpets spread with thick butter to feel better again!! Am going crazy for carbs, butter and marmite . Toast with marmite is my heaven and I can eat about 4 slices in one go without feeling full up but if I try and eat a proper meal I feel like a balloon - weird!! Can only drink water and fresh juice as well, have completely gone off all hot drinks .

Just bought some maternity jeans because all of mine feel so tight (the toast and crumpets are definitely not helping) and am mortified I am getting them so early - at least I should get quite a wear out of them .

Hope all are having a good, albeit nauseous and bloated, day.
