OMG pony. As ski says, that's tearful stuff. But well done for getting it all out. And good luck with doing what you have to do

skihorse · 30/11/2009 14:27

carrots Well over here we're not being driven in to a media-fulled piggy-flu frenzy. Also, it seems that the bfp women dropping dead of piggy-flu are for example paraplegics...

What's ponymum done? Are we crying because she's laughing at the word Penis? Idonegeddit.

skihorse · 30/11/2009 14:28

Quadraplegic sorry, first pregnant woman in the UK to die from oink oink piggy flu was quadraplegic.

Ponymum · 30/11/2009 14:56

ski - It was this letter I wrote.

givecarrotsachance · 30/11/2009 16:15

ski my understanding is that pregnant women are much more at risk from the complications. The risk is small and it's very unlikely that getting SF would lead to serious illness, but, it's a bigger risk than the jab. Ergo, no-brainer for me. Anyone else's choice is their own choice but I object to people saying that blueberries are a good alternative [irritated emoticon].

I have decided I have another symptom (drum roll pleeeeze)

I have a craving for - get this - clementines. Not satsumas, not tangerines, not oranges. It has to be clementines.

I am sitting here devouring a packet of them, as I have been all weekend, not fancying anything else but thinking how GORGEOUS they are. So I've decided to put it down to a craving.

I STINK of orange.

OP posts:
Ponymum · 30/11/2009 16:33

giveclementinesachance At least they are healthy. My only cravings seem to be for salmon fishcakes and potato dauphinoise.

CurlyCasper · 30/11/2009 16:59

I said ski when I meant rots. sorry

skihorse · 30/11/2009 17:00

carrots Any thoughts on kiwi fruit?

CurlyCasper · 30/11/2009 17:07

givecarrotsachance · 01/12/2009 09:32

cassie I will forgive you, this time, for mistaking me for ski . Looking forward to hearing about TDOH.

ski NO. I TOLD you. It's CLEMENTINES. Don't you ever LISTEN???

Actually, I'm only pretending to be hormonal as I'm not feeling that way! Pretty fuckin' nauseous this morning though and very fluffy-headed.

Back later. xx

Can I just say that having said yesterday that I feel fine, today I feel rubbish. Murphy's Law or just someone telling me to not be smug (although I honestly wasn't being). Yesterday I fell asleep at about 8pm and I've felt really sick all morning.

Mixed in with being Absolutely Ravenous when not feeling sick!

Tummy has massively popped out. Still no sign of ute so I am just FAAAT.

skihorse · 01/12/2009 12:07

Are you in your maternity stuff yet ?

I am working from home again - my manager is being v v cool about it. Turns out that despite her being 49 and with no kids, her goddaughter is currently diffed, due in July and is suffering in the same way as me! Phew! Poor girl obviously - but it buys me some leeway at work.

I stayed up until gone 10pm last night - GET IN! - then awake at 4 sitting in the living room with the dogs, went back to bed and slept through until just gone 9.

I'm just totally bushed, went to the stables last night but there was no way I could ride, it took all my energy just to groom her.

I had Stollen cravings - can I just rub that in to you non-continental gals? Stollen, stollen STOLLEN! I'm going to send jailbait out to buy some.

givecarrotsachance · 01/12/2009 12:43

Grr @ stollen. Good news about your manager ski. Very good.

My parents are away until Monday so I'm exhausted anyway. But juuuust sooooo tiiired today. No chance of an early day as no office cover and I have to drive an hour to get MAC orders sorted for the last few days (stock is kept at my parents' house). Friend called and asked if I wanted to go to hers on Thursday night for a thing she's doing but she lives an hour away. Prob will though, would be V good to see her. Down to London this weekend - promised LC a trip on a train, bus and to see the dinos at the Science Museum.

No I am NOT in maternity clothes. I'm fat and farty, not pregnant. Kinda. .

Sooooo tiiiirrreeeddd.

givecarrotsachance · 01/12/2009 15:37

I am also SOOOOOO hungry.

OP posts:
skihorse · 01/12/2009 15:43

I'm just back from the hospital - had to nip over and get my bloods done for having the baybeeee. Aren't hospitals weird in that you get a full spectrum of society? Fascinating!

I'm going for a nap-nap soon I think, I've been awake for nearly 8 hours now!

givecarrotsachance · 01/12/2009 17:01

ski you find that in, you know, like towns n stuff too

I'm really joking, honestly.

If the bath wasn't enough, we now have chocolates. Fuck this for a lark.

Today, I'm anti-feminist, homophobic, and reading crappy stuff about crappy stupid crappy people who I'm amazed are bright enough to breathe.

jeeez.

OP posts:
skihorse · 01/12/2009 18:26

I'm still drinking coffee and chocolate obviously - I mean wtf? Although it occurred to me just an hour ago that I've drastically reduced my coffee consumption and it's not been a conscious decision - it's just that more than 2/3 a day are making me feel icky.

I'm worried about getting in the lift at work - will the sudden change in altitude make my bean fall out?

givecarrotsachance · 01/12/2009 19:25

Cripes, ski, I didn't know that could be a problem. Did you read that on MN somewhere? Also I wanted to remind you to wear clothes when you go skiing so you don't freeze the little fella or fellette.

I'm a bit worried about this weekend. We're driving to London to see our (gay LOL) friends. Will the funny Southern accent be dangerous?

I'm off to take a bath. I have one once a week whether I need it or not. But in case I forget what to do, I keep instructions by the loo.

OP posts:
skihorse · 01/12/2009 19:48

Won't it catch airborne-AIDS from your gay friends? Won't somebody think of the children? I am a bit worried about going skiing - medicine is very tricky to come by outside the UK. Also if I take exercise rather than sit on the sofa eating hobnobs, again? Bean fally-outy?

I sent my health insurance company a very complicated email about the testing for Downs - you know, how it's free when I turn 36 (january) but I have to pay now because I'm a whippersnapper with low risk... got a letter saying I need to ring them. I think they've been trying to reach me but I never answer unless I know the caller. Be warned princesses! But on saying that, I've decided I don't want to go ahead with the Downs tests... as carrots pointed out the other week there are a billion things they don't test for which I feel are more of a problem than Downs. E.g., we were watching Oprah earlier and there was a little girl with this "mermaid syndrome" thing... anyway, she was born without a vagina, a uterine opening or an anus - I'm afraid I would choose a termination in that instance, but I will cross that bridge as and when.

CurlyCasper · 02/12/2009 09:32

fell asleep in front of TV at 8pm. got sent to bed at 9pm. woke at 7am and ready to go back to sleep now. This is supposed to stop in the second trimester - so what do you think the chances are of the boss letting me stop for Christmas now to come back to work in the new year? diddly fucking squat, I suspect. But hopefully the knackeredness means my body is pouring plenty of energy into making this baby grow healthily.

Heard this morning of pregnancy lady craving pizza. I do this in normal life, do you think I could pass it off as a craving and live on nothing else? (well, maybe some Christmas dinners too )

skihorse · 02/12/2009 09:54

Curly Yep, I too went to bed at 9, woke up at 6 and lay in the bath (no thermometer!) and I could go back to bed now. I too am praying for the 12 week turnaround in my energies... I've got two weeks off at xmas I can sleep through - and then hopefully shortly in to the new year everything will be OK again.

I think I can prove I currently have the worst "preggo brain" of all of you. Got to work this morning, got out of the car and thought "boot up the lappy, get a coffee". Oh. FAIL. Laptop was at home on the coffee table. Drove home. Collected laptop. Back at work.

iggypiggy · 02/12/2009 10:08

'allo PESHlets

I haz been away innit

I haz also been sicky and wanting to lie asleep on sofa. So haz been no fun..

cassie how was day of hell?! Good I hope?

I is having to eat as soon as i wake up else i is getting v. v. sicky... it must be fruit and it must be early!

givecarrotsachance · 02/12/2009 10:13

Parents back on Monday and thank goodness lovely lady in office is working Friday so I don't have to (hurrah). Means we can leave for our infectious friends straight after school. ski I am only friends with gay people who have been tested for AIDS, otherwise, what's the point of risking it? I mean, I don't mind their being gay as long as they don't shove it in my face, but, you know, you can't be too careful.

OP posts:
skihorse · 02/12/2009 10:14

Yes, I'm so sorry Curly, I read in the other place that it all went well and I wanted to say jolly well done to you! And you didn't even pee your pants or puke!

iggy V. happy to hear you is still sick as dog.
