Hi I was on this thread right at the begining and have been following it on and off, as we're getting towards the end just thought I'd pop on to say good luck to everyone and add myself to the ever growing list. Good luck Scarlotti hope everything goes ok for you.

Erika Hope things calm down at home. Not sure if I missed a post, have there been some family arguments going on?

Comma That's great the baby feels like its flipped. My baby was breech until 36 weeks and I could feel it flipping, took it a couple of hours, but it got there. Keeping my fingers crossed for you.

OK. mucas plug , seems like I've been losing mine for a few hours. This is a new thing to me as didnt have a show with DS. I so hope this means I'm not far off. I feel dreadful at the moment, but no contractions, apart from the odd very painful one. Going to try and get some good sleep if I can tonight.

Hope everyone is doing ok.

ErikaMaye · 28/10/2009 20:59

Forgot to say welcome back to the returners

katster37 · 28/10/2009 21:17

Thanks ladies. Think I have recovered from the lunatic, but made me think, do I really want to have to risk facing that kind of thing when I take my baby out for a walk in the park?? Grrrrr. Is not fair. I want to move!

Erika, yes v shocking, I'd be extremely upset by that kind of comment.

FruitP Eeeeeeeeek! That sounds exciting! Did you not notice losing it with DS? I think you might be in a race with Scarlotti

Comma FAB news that baby has flipped!!! Did you feel anything change? I know what you mean about an emotional rollercoaster though; I would feel the same as you and go with the Dr's decision. Is baby head down now or are they not sure?

EasyEggs · 28/10/2009 21:19

Oooh sounds VERY promising fruit good luck if this is really it. I'm so excited lol!

Hi to all you long time lurkers Come chat before it all goes manic with newborns and we don't get time!

Comma have my fingers crossed for you that baby has decided it's time to be good for you and flipped into the right position

Katster at the idiot loony. Sounds like a drunk or something. Hope it hasn't upset you too much.

Erika OMG @ your Mum!! How could she say that?? Hope you're ok. She'll completely change her tune when she is holding your adorable Bryn in her arms though Still, she really shouldn't have said that to you x x

scarlotti · 28/10/2009 21:25

Fruitpastels oooh! I think you'll be next ... don't mind as long as I'm close after!!

Homeinthesun and browntrout lovely to see you again

Comma fingers crossed the baby has flipped the right way now.

As for me, I have twinges but not anything that could be construed as contractions. Lots of downward pressure and sharp pains so just hoping that things develop. Mum is here now so maybe now I know the kids are ok no matter when it happens, things might start up again?!!

Fruitpastels · 28/10/2009 21:30

Katster I don't know whats wrong with some people. He is probably a very lonely man and bitter towards everyone. I've come across a couple very rude people the last couple of weeks and it can be so upsetting

Didn't have a show with DS, this is all new to me. I have to keep telling myself I could be a few days away yet!

ursigurke · 28/10/2009 22:28

comma, I hope your baby flipped the right way.
Fruitpastels, scarlotti, how exciting! Who will be the first one of you two? (or maybe someone else is already secretly overtaking?)
Things are definitely developing here, just slowly.
I'm quite annoyed as I seem to get a cold (really not the right moment)! Since I'm pregnant, I've only had one (very unusual for me) and I did what I always do: drinking a lot and taking an "overdose" of VitC. And this was the only time that I had actually been sick and I wonder if it was due to the amount of VitC so I don't want to take it this time.
I just want to have a weak body when going into labour! Sorry for the rant, I know I could have much bigger problems.

wook · 28/10/2009 22:33

Comma great news

Scarlotti and Fruitpastels here are your bumps' possible celebrity birthday sharers: Oct 29th Winona Ryder, Oct 30th The Fonz!!!! Could be motivational?

Katster what a horrible experience. There is a man round here who wears a sleeping bag on his head and shouts a lot but it's only general so not too scary- if he said something directly to me I think I would probably wet myself. (I don't need much excuse at the mo...) - still, I feel on red nutter alert all the time at the moment- the world is scarier with a bump to protect!

Erika tactless of your mum, to say the least. Is she the sort to apologise after something like that or not? Mine will often drop a clanger but usually realises soon afterwards.

Off for a hot bath and teacup of gin now ...(don't worry, only 50% of that is true)Getting impatient as due date looms so I've reconsidered a little on the sperm front and I suppose that by about November 3rd I would be prepared to accept some from, say, Richard Armitage, maybe.

ErikaMaye · 28/10/2009 22:39

Wook you're not having a bath then?

Thanks for the support guys, am feeling a bit calmer, though tempted to disappear upstairs before she comes home.

Little monster is squiggling around so much tonight. Having some terrible pains down "there" but highly doubt it leading to anything. Though one can hope he has other ideas!!!

wook · 28/10/2009 22:45

Ursi when ds and I were so rough last week with the evil virus the midwife said that many a woman finds superhuman strength when she goes into labour feeling poorly and that she'd seen women with bronchitis and all sorts just go completely primal and find 'the power of woman' to get them through. (Before collapsing in a heap afterwards I suspect) But maybe that will reassure you?

Erika That's right, I'm foregoing the bath!
She'll surely apologise on return?

ErikaMaye · 28/10/2009 22:48

Nope, not her style. She'll pretend it didn't happen - if I bring it up will deny all knowledge - and prehaps then use it in a few weeks time in the next big explosion. sighs

wook · 28/10/2009 22:53

Erika that is annoying behaviour! Is she -a Scorpio? usually quite supportive though?

Comma2 · 28/10/2009 22:55

katster I lived in a shady area of NYC when I was pregnant, so understand very well the wish to move away from strange lunatics.

Yes, I felt the baby flip and I can tell its not side to side anymore. I get kicked in the ribs again too, but they haven't checked on her today. Have a pretesting app at hospital tomorrow, so maybe I can get doc to check? If she's not breech it would save me world of trouble not having to organzise child care etc.

Ohoh Fruit this is it!!! I am so sure your next post is with lo in arm!! Good luck!

ErikaMaye · 28/10/2009 22:55

Gemini She ranges between two extremes. She really doesn't seem to be able to make up her mind!

ursigurke · 28/10/2009 23:04

wook, thanks, that does sound reassuring. And I am still hoping I won't develop a real cold anyway. Maybe I've just spent too much time inside where it tends to be a bit overheated. (I still haven't found the perfect programming of the heating), so I will leave the house for longer tomorrow.
comma, kicks in the ribs sound good! And I think it is more likely to flip to the right position anyway. So, I'm sure you will get some good news tomorrow.

longwayaway · 28/10/2009 23:09

katster what a nutter! Hope he wasn't really scary, just crazy.

Comma great news! Makes me sort of at doctors who want to schedule sections before giving the baby time to flip... really curious how they decide when it's "too late".

Erika ugh, what a mean and completely irrational thing for her to say. Sorry you have to deal with that on a regular basis. Sounds like you know better than to let it get to you, which is good.

Fruitpastels hope this is it!!

Ursi sympathies on the cold. Battling one myself right now but I'm not on the verge of labor... agree with wook that we will all find superhuman strength in time to give birth

I slept really well last night, but apparently I was snoring so DH didn't

Ninjacat · 28/10/2009 23:21

Wook stop with the Scorpio bashing. You are not an Aquarian by any chance are you?

Comma2 · 29/10/2009 01:26

longway I know with the scheduling, but Doc said we have to get baby before water breaks if transverse, as high risk of cord coming out. True, but still... but I guess they just have to go with the smaller evil if in doubt. Was it Tamlin with the cheeky foot? I keep picturing that....

Oohohoh, scalotti somehow missed that before!! Very exciting! All very good signs or so I am told!

wook okay, you got me craving gin...don't even want it in a glass now, but a cup...

What's with the signs here? And apropos, what sign is somebody born a) emd of January (dd1 and still don't really know ) and b) this Friday?

Hi everyone haven't mananged to post as everytime I come on there seems to be more and more pages to read, so generally
wanted to say sorry to those having a rough time with families do they change when we're pregnant?

Pavlov you are a diy godess i'm in total awe. I don't seem to be able to manage more then get everyone up andfed at vaguely the right times!

Anyway have now hit emotional rock bottom. After the whole premature labour scare it feels like i've been waiting to go into labour for the last 3 MONTHS! I mean shortened cervix in august, 2cm dilated 2 weeks ago this must be the worlds longest latent phase! Can someone reassure me that constant sobbing is a sign of imminent labour (please) Hopefully seeing a consultant monday so maybe some good news then (must look up induction or sweep in french)

ErikaMaye · 29/10/2009 06:21

Well when she came in last night, she said to me, "Are you feeling better, now?" as if it had been some emotional hormonal bit of me that had caused her to say it. Ugh. Then I got this big talk about how it was okay to be scared. Couldn't be arsed for another argument...

I'm impatient, ladies - Scarlotti or Fruitpastels if either of you have any baby-updates they better be posted soon

Comma end of January is Aquarius, this Friday is Scorpio. I'm of course Taurus - could I be anything else but a big clumsy stubborn bull?!

Ohhh ladies we're onto the star sign most of our babies are due under

Mamman you poor thing... Hope it goes well on Monday, do keep us updated

Fruitpastels · 29/10/2009 07:06

Morning ladies, Still here waiting. In a way I'm glad as I really needed a good sleep last night with having a disrupted night of contractions the night before. Seeing the MW at lunchtime but doubt she'll do much as I've still got 6 days until EDD. My ankles and feet are really swollen. They look better first thing this morning, but have a feeling they will get worse through the day. Wish my body would decide quickly on what it's doing!

Mamman Sounds like you've had a rough time. Keep us posted.

I'm hoping to finish shopping for DS's birthday presents today. I need to go to one store and DH can drop me to the door. Poor DS won't have any pressies to open on Monday if I I don't get my bump into action!

PavlovtheForgetfulCat · 29/10/2009 07:07

My mother was a Scorpio. It would be sort of nice if baby was born on her birthday...but that would be well...today! no, perhaps that would not be so great as DH has a job interview to prepare for tomorrow! Thanks for reminding me though, I shall go light a candle for her.

Although I did vaguely think I might go into labour yesterday as I felt decidedly unwell, poorly belly, felt sick, very very out of sorts. But nothing came of it apart from a rise in temp so wonder if its this kidney infection business. Well, at least if he arrives now he will have a bedroom to sleep in! My friends said yesterday, if baby arrives now, they would be straight down to our place to move DDs stuff and get baby stuff up in the bedroom for us! Bless em, i love those guys very much.

DD woke this morning, at 6:30am, had a cuddle with me, then we got up and she ran into the hallway 'i loooove our new carpet mama!' and then ran up the loft stairs 'and my new bedroom! and i love my pink door!' (we showed her last night before she went to bed, we could not wait!) and she asked for some toys so we took some up there and she spent 15 mins playing up there while I watched Breakfast - for the first time in probably years that i have watched adult television this early!

She is now down here eating a packet of Pombears. I am a Very Bad Mother this morning But i feel like indulging her a little and she is now a happy baby girl!

PavlovtheForgetfulCat · 29/10/2009 07:15

fruit morning! sorry the baby is not making its mind up! Are you struggling with shops? Could you not get DH to go in for you? Sounds like you should be resting imo. i went into town yesterday, literally walked from bus stop to HMV, then opposite into waterstones, DH rang to say on his way to get me, i went into boots, then outside, which involved walking up about 12 steps. He watched me walking to the car, and when I got in the car he said 'last trip into town for you then darling? ' as my belly and top of my thighs hurt so much to walk. I felt so so pregnant!

Its new for me this heavily pregnant feeling, as I was not this big with DD (although not big at all really compared to some, even now) so its novel. And I don't like it

erika i would be furious with my mother for saying something like that. When she talks to you rationally again, could you tell her that she really hurt you with her comments, or is it best to just leave it now? You know your mum best and how to proceed but its not nice to say to you when you are in pain (or when you are not, tbh).

Ninjacat · 29/10/2009 07:18

Comma Up until Jan 20th Capricorn. After 20th Aquarius. This Friday Scorpio

The boys have gone to Lego Land for the day. The seems very quiet and I have crawled back into bed but can't sleep.
