Erika I was so close to doing just that - decided to give them one more chance. I'm expecting about four packages this week so they better start leaving them!! Hope all your contractions are accomplishing something

Trikken Your MIL sounds like a monster. Who lets a kid fill up their own trolley at the grocery store?

hobnob Sorry to hear about your bad day. Has the baby has moved into a better position?

Pav Glad you felt some normal movement, eventually.

My sciatica has returned with a vengeance - just in time for SIL's visit. Sob! Have been relatively mobile lately and I really did want to be able to get out of the house more now that my cold is fading. I just can't win. I was expecting DH to entertain her but he got an unusually large workload this week - which I can't complain about, because we need the money - just hope she is more self-sufficient and happy to go out on her own than my last houseguest.

wook · 02/11/2009 20:36

Ursi I suspect Koumak may be up to something, but alas, not a twinge here, I'm still with you there on the list and getting a bit cross now! Did Aquanatal this morning, stormed around the city with mum getting last minute stuff, took ds to swimming lesson, played hopscotch afterwards, slipped over on a mushroom in the Co-op and still nothing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

PavlovtheForgetfulCat · 02/11/2009 20:49

I feel like utter cr*p so I am off to bed ladies. This baby has given me a right royal workout today, and i hurt now. He is butting me in the pelvis and kicking my ribs.

All those wanting to pop, good luck! Maybe we will have some more positive baby stories in the morning All those with aches and pains, hope they go away/ease very soon.

xx

turtle23 · 02/11/2009 20:51

If anybody has a miracle cure for chesty coughs that we are allowed please let me know. I have bruised tummy muscles and it's soooooooooo sore when he moves....

ursigurke · 02/11/2009 20:52

Ok, now I am getting some very strange waves of pain (well, 2 so far). something in my left bottom half hurted, twice for about 10-15 sec and as I said, it was a wave of pain, started slowly, got more painful and eased off. What is this child up to? I guess I should have put some "exit"-signs on my cervix...

katster37 · 02/11/2009 21:01

Oooo usi I hope this is positive news for you!!

Pav hope you're feeling better.

Any news from Koumak?

I am exhausted from working crazy hours today. Can't be doing it at the minute and need to go to bed to recover! BHs getting quite uncomfortable now, not sure I am up for this for potentially another 4 weeks....

katster37 · 02/11/2009 21:03

The Christmas outfits sound v cute btw!

Also was meant to say - this is TMI, btw - has anyone 'dealt with' their lady bits, since we are talking about hair removal?? I am worried! Not sure I can actually see down there but don't want to suffer the indignity of DH doing it, although he has offered... What is anyone else doing?!

scarlotti · 02/11/2009 21:24

usi fingers crossed it's starting for you!

pav have a lovely night's sleep and hope you feel better tomorrow (hugs)

kaster I did a bit of a trim about 2 months ago. Am tempted to buy some immac and let DH have a go (wouldn't risk any sharp implements!) but as I've had 2 hospital trips so far and nobody seems bothered I'm wondering if I can be arsed! Did have a wax a while back but it's much more painful when heavily pregnant!!

scarlotti · 02/11/2009 21:25

turtle how about good old fashioned vicks on your chest?

ursigurke · 02/11/2009 21:26

katster, I haven't done anything (well except a little trimming with a mirror, but really just little and carefully) since weeks, if not months. In my case it is really impossible because of my varicous veins. And my husband agrees on it. If I just imagine, one little cut and there would be a lot of blood involved. It does not look pretty at the moment (strangely interesting though, maybe worth to be in any book for medical students or midwifes) but I guess, when I'm in hospital surrounded by medical staff, they have seen worth or at least similar. And if they haven't yet, it's time to learn anyway (that's probably the teacher in me speaking)

I don't think my bottom pain is getting me any nearer to a labour start but at least I can work on my "breathing to get through pain". It's not as easy as I thought. I seem to stop breathing when I feel pain, so it is really good exercise (again teacher speaking).
My husband seems to be stuck at work for another couple of hours, his team has to do something to finish the last month. One guy is currently in NY, so you can't blame him, the rest seems to have left already (one guy to play tennis!!!). I wonder what they would have done if he hadn't come to work today (what they all expected, as they all thought, it has to happen over the weekend)

Koumak · 02/11/2009 21:28

She is here! She is here!

scarlotti · 02/11/2009 21:31

Koumak huge congratulations!!!

LissyGlitter · 02/11/2009 21:36

Congratulations Koumak! Do you have time to give us details?

turtle23 · 02/11/2009 21:37

Hurrah!! Another baby! Congrats!

Laugs · 02/11/2009 21:38

Koumak...?!

Koumak · 02/11/2009 21:41

Olivia arrived this morning at 10.50am at 3.79kg and roughly measured at 50cm. On daddy?s birthday only 5mins after his birth. I wasn?t obviously fast enough? Both well hence we are at home already. Both dh and ds staying at home tomorrow to celebrate both birthdays so will try to post some pictures then.
So the queuing system is restored - Ursi you are next!
Massive congratulations to FruitPastels and Helips will catch up on your news tomorrow

hobnob57 · 02/11/2009 21:42

Hooray!!! Well done!

Laugs · 02/11/2009 21:43

turtle I am asthmatic and I find that steaming my face over a bowl/ sink full of boiling water really helps. You can add an essential oil - tea tree or eucalyptus are both good - but I'm not sure if we can use these in pregnancy. Baths also help me (doesn't even need to be hot to have an effect). Strong coffee also helps, but maybe not at this time of night

Laugs · 02/11/2009 21:45

CONGRATULATIONS KOUMAK!! I'm so pleased for you. And Olivia is a beautiful name. I bet DH is delighted she's arrived on his birthday too.

claired21 · 02/11/2009 21:48

Congratulations koumak - Olivia is a beautiful name! Glad all went well.

Right that's a baby a day since Sat- who's going to pop tomorrow?!

Koumak · 02/11/2009 21:52

Thanks girl. She is just so perfect but then obviously I would think that!
She is spending the first night with me in bed as being only 5 days late I was not quite ready and the crib?s mattress is still soaking wet. It?s one of those washable Stokke ones. Must work on that tomorrow.

ursigurke · 02/11/2009 21:55

Koumak, congratulations!!!!! And Olivia is such a pretty name, it was very high on my list but my husband had some strange reasons against it, so I am glad to hear that there is at least another little girl with this name.
Well, I'll do my best to keep the queue going but I'm not sure.... so much pressure from all sides
turtle, I agree with Laugs. You should put a big towel over your head and the bowl to keep the steam in. I am quite sure that tea tree oil is fine during pregnancy. I have been googling it myself for other reasons and it seems to be ok. Salt and lemon juice are usually nice for a blocked nose, so I suppose for a blocked chest as well.

Ninjacat · 02/11/2009 22:05

Congratulations Koumak hope all went well.

This baby seems to be pushing my bump over the top of my pelvic bone. DP says he probably has my sense of direction

Why won't he engage?

eeyore2 · 02/11/2009 22:08

Congratulations Koumak!!

hobnob57 · 02/11/2009 22:22

With you on that one Ninja.

In fact, I think mine has been busy swapping sides today after being very settled on the LHS since the summer... RHS didn't work for DD, should have a NO ENTRY sign there!
