Today's best famous birthdays: the matchstick men painter LS Lowry. There is also sex therapist Shere Hite, and pornographer Larry King, that Scorpio reputation holding good there!!. One of the Red Hot Chilli Peppers. The wonderful Toni Collette and finally, Dizzee Rascal!!!

wook · 01/11/2009 10:34

Trikken I am scared that Fantastic Mr Fox will be too knowing and cool for ds, and not funny/action packed enough. I'm all for kids' films that grown ups like too, but not ones that are too much for the grown ups!

ursigurke · 01/11/2009 11:10

Morning all. NOTHING to report from here (sorry katster). Have slept annoyingly well and now I am a bit bored as it is really pouring down, not really great to go for a walk (especially with my very limited wardrobe at the moment). I should focus on the fact that this official due date has always been 2 days too early for my cycle length + felt ovulation date. So technically it should rather be tomorrow. But I feel like sitting at the airport, passed check in and security and now I'm waiting for my delayed flight, and there is nothing really to keep me busy.

ErikaMaye · 01/11/2009 11:29

Morning all. Nothing to report here either - still having the occasional contraction, lots of BHs, terrible back and pelvic pain. Had a cleaning spree in the middle of the night... The floor is all sparkly now!! Will keep you all updated, hope someone has some exciting news for us!!

Tamlin · 01/11/2009 12:16

Right, it's finally November so you lot, get cracking! We need an All Souls baby!

The weather here is utterly horrible, and we have DS climbing the walls when not vigorously playing his harmonica or his drums. I think that Arthur had a presentiment of what November would be like and decided to show up early enough to catch a few clear and sunny days. He is still a very nice newborn - no screaming at all except for when he was first born and during his first bath. I am hoping devoutly that he doesn't develop colic or reflux at the four week mark as so far he's a dream (well, a dream who nurses every two hours around the clock, but one can't have EVERYTHING.)

BeckyBendyLegs · 01/11/2009 12:52

Not at all famous but today is also FIL's birthday! We're baking him a cake, me and the DSs...

Afternoon all, saw the midwife today, temp and blood pressure still fine but she called consultant that I saw on friday morning told him I was still dripping amniotic fluid abit and the up shot is I'm going in to hospital at 8.00 - 8.30 tonight and they will start me off tomorrow morning, not how I waned this delivery to happen but if needs must I'll have to get on with it, I just feel a little cheated as I really wanted this one to be different.

Hope everyone is ok and not to full of trick or treating sweets left over from last night, we had 3 lost so still got mini mars bars and mini twix left, lovely.

Um, Kyte, am I wrong to assume that someone who doesn't like icing should just stay the heck away from cake??

LissyGlitter · 01/11/2009 14:18

homeinthesun looks like you will be next then! Unless someone is in labour now...

Nothing going on here. DD is fine after her fright last night (although a bit grumpy and tearful, hope she isn't coming down with anything) My pelvis is starting to suffer if i put my legs apart, possibly a mild SPD? Also the baby is well down, I waddle. Anyway, it is annoying, if I was having a vaginal birth I could tell myself it was all helping to make the birth easier, but with a section it is presumably easier if the baby is sat nice and high waiting to be lifted out!

HomeintheSun · 01/11/2009 14:30

Kyte when the christening comes around have a plate of chocolate mini rolls ready for them and then there can be no complaints.

BeckyBendyLegs · 01/11/2009 15:02

DH is hoovering. Lovely.

This baby is sitting on my saitic (sp?) nerve I think - agony!!!! Ah well. Off to 'in-laws to wish happy birthday now.

Have fun at the in-law, BBL.

Just back from B and Q. Exciting stuff. Now I have to work. Boo.

Kyte can't believe how organised you are with the cake!
We have been looking into naming ceremonies, possibly for next summer, possibly at the same place where we got married. DId anyone else do this?

Tamlin Arthur sounds perfect! How much is he sleeping? Do you feel ok in yourself now?

Trikken · 01/11/2009 19:07

grr am annoyed, ds is acting up. he came back from Mils with tons of junk food, and havent been able to clam him down this evening. he refused to eat his tea because he wanted sweeties and crisps. (obv I said no to this request which lead to a tantrum) I love Mil but am afraid we are gonna have a major falling out in a min. she lets him have his own trolley when they take him shopping and buys whatever he puts in there. I hope she's as willing to pay for his dentist bills in later life.

god that sounds like an 'AIBU'. sorry, prob just all preg stress coming out.

claired21 · 01/11/2009 19:22

I have an announcement! Not the baby announcement we're all waiting for though...

DP asked me to marry him today! He was very romantic, drove out to a secluded, scenic location near Loch Lomond and he got down on one knee. (He got a bit wet as it hasn't stopped raining here in days!) Stopped off for a nice lunch on the way home and both sets of parents have popped in to say Congratulations. We're both over the moon!

Have just had to take the ring off though as my fingers are swelling, had a moment of panic when I thought it was stuck! A wee bit disappointed that I can't wear it all the time... someone tell me my fingers will return to their pre-pregnancy size after baby is born!

Fruitpastels · 01/11/2009 19:29

Hello Ladies,

Just a very quick post. Gave birth to our baby boy yesterday morning . He is 8lbs, lots of hair and doing really well with feeding. Had a 3 hour labour and was home the same day. Very tired and trying hard to rest, not easy with DS1 running around!

Hope everyone is doing ok. I will catch up again in a couple of days.

Trikken · 01/11/2009 19:30

AWW! congratulations claired!!, sounds lovely!

(your fingers will go down again) I am wearing my engagement and wedding rings on a chain round my neck as mine wont go on either.

BeckyBendyLegs · 01/11/2009 19:30

Claire that is soooo lovely. Congratulations to you both Ahhh makes me feel all gushy.
