Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Morning!
Well, last night did 5.5hrs in his cot! 7.10pm til 00.40am! Hoping this is a sign of things to come
I did manage to make him cry this morning though. As usual, he was sitting in his bouncy chair in the bathroom whilst I had my shower. No- it wasn't the sight of me in the shower, but as pulled my towel off the rail to wrap round my dripping torso, a huge spider ran off the towel and up my arm. I screamed and shook the spider into the bath. O's face just dropped, bottom lip turned down and he just burst into tears.
So picture the scene with spider trying to escape the bath, crying baby and me with no towel now, dripping everywhere!
All fine now! I hope O will grow up to be able to deal with spiders for me!

Diege - I keep looking at Christmas outfits for O but just don't think I can justify it and actually don't really like most of them! I'd rather get him a smart little shirt to wear.
Hope you hear quickly today and they don't leave you hanging into late afternoon.

Kay - I haven't been to the dentist in nearly 4 yrs. Good on you for going - I'm sure it's better to go regularly. I must make an appointment before O turns 1yr.

Tink - fingers crossed for DD1 today!

morning... not on too long, have skimmed the last day... haven't kept DS off... though he seems much better since we've stopped him watching a dvd at bedtime... he's asleep within 10mins of being in bed rather than the hour it used to be sometimes. So we've had a couple of better days. DH thought it was stupid to keep him off anyway and said he wouldn't allow it. Even though i'm the one who has to put up with DS all day when DH works!!....

Anyway, i was a bit ill yesterday, migrane, sickness- and today DH has it... so he's off work. Just taken him breakfast and painkillers so hopefully he'll be a bit perkier later as i wanted to go food shopping this evening!!

Ses- O is a very good weight- DD2 is still only around 14lb (when weighed with wii-fit last week) I dont take her to clinic to be weighed though as i always get a lecture off them saying she needs to creep up the lines, yet her consultant says she's perfectly fine as long as she's following a line.

DD hasn't had a night feed for nearly a week now so we're doing very well on 7pm till 6-7am.... she still wakes sometimes in the night but will be back asleep in a couple of mins and just self-soothes so she's done brilliant and has gone from feeding every 2hrs through the night to sleeping through- all within 2 weeks!!

STAR- I have noticed that since she's been sleeping through she's eating much more in the day...

For breakfast she's have porridge/mashed biscotti with milk/1.5 bananas mashed... then for lunch she has a jar normally (or sometimes the night before's leftovers) followed by either pureed/mashed fruit or a yoghurt... and for tea she a large portion (more than a 4-6mth jar would be) of whatever we're having and i just blitz it so it still has some texture and lumps and she'll follow with another yoghurt or some fruit.

I didn't really want to use jars but she's not progressing on finger food so well yet and i dont have the time to be making puree's- just make sure she gets a homemade meal for tea and blitz it- takes no extra time to cook/prepare and if there's enough left it provides the next days lunch too.

Right best dash- got my sis coming soon and haven't seen her in 2mths as she's been at uni. So just need to sort the house out ready for visitors...

might be on later but if not have a busy weekend including lots of xmas shopping so will probs be back around on monday.

Have a nice weekend everyone!!

essenceofSES · 20/11/2009 09:51

x-posts IDOB. Does sound like "one of those days", poor you. It does sound like C is doing v well though. Those first smiles are so heart-warming.

As I typed my last post I got a text come through to say that a guy I knew from work died last night. It's so sad. He was only 23 and had just passed his registration exams last month to become a pharmacist. I'm waiting to hear what caused his death. Such a shock.

cantmummyhaveabreak · 20/11/2009 09:55

IDOB- couldn't read your post and not reply- Sorry to hear of your bad day- sometimes they are like that... and i have done the same thing with ramming them a mouthful of boob to get them to feed. Glad she is back to her normal self today. It's not nice when they aren't themselves, gets you more frustranted too as you're not used to it!!

Ses- yuk to spider!!

IDOBisamummy · 20/11/2009 10:08

Cheers guys - she usually feeds so well it was quite worrying when I couldn't get her to take anything. Of course she had just finished her feed and fallen asleep when DP walked in - I'm sure he thinks I make it all up .

Cant - good luck with the xmas shopping. I am doing most of mine online this year. Fingers crossed your 2 boys aren't too grumpy this evening! Is your DH as bad as DP when he is ill? Great news about DD2s sleeping.

Ses - so sorry to hear about your friend, it's such a shock when you get that kind of news out of the blue about someone your age. Urgh to bath spider, I hate them. I'm sure O will be chasing them away for you soon.

gingerbreadlatte · 20/11/2009 10:09

Morning !

GOod luck Diege. Keep us posted.

Tink- hope your DD is over her cutting thing

Star- we dont do GF that religiously so if she is asleep I leave her- unless I need to get her up. Having said that, she doesnt sleep for huge stretches in the day anyway. the most i'd get is 1hr or 1.5hrs.

We do an extra nap though to make up for short sleeps. So we do this as our routine.

7am Breastfeed
8.15am breakfast
9am nap- usually 1hr
11.45am- lunch
2.30pm - formula bottle
4pm- tea
4.45pmish- powernap
6.30pm Breastfeed
10pm breasfeed

the final nap depends on what she has been doing in the day, so sometimes we dont have it and do earlier bed.

Kay- sorry to hear about your wisdoms. I had mine done under general at the hospital. Enjoy the week off afterwards, you will probably wont feel much like going anywhere anyway.

Going out today- in the rain. Trying to be enthusiastic but not feeling it.

Diege · 20/11/2009 10:32

Thanks GINGER! SES, that's so sad about your friend, and at such a very young age too Hope you're ok x
IDOB sounds liked you actually coped brilliantly! (another one guilty of boob ramming here ) They'll always be days like this but as you say there are so many good bits too. It;s great when they discover hands/feet etc, so cute. J has just discovered his head and regularly slaps one hand randomly at the side of it until I have to prise it off.
HI CANT! Sounds like things are improving a little. Enjoy your sister's visit - not long till they break for xmas hols! Congrats on dd's feeding/sleeping - you've really cracked it there!

IDOBisamummy · 20/11/2009 10:45

J sounds so cute Diege. This morning DD was lying on her activity mat and as she was waving her arms about she kept hitting one of the toys hanging on it. She kept staring at it and her hand as if she was trying to work out whether she was doing it or not then turned her head the other way, smacked the toy on that side with her other hand and gave a huge smile. It really made me giggle.

Diege · 20/11/2009 11:10

OP posts:
Diege · 20/11/2009 14:21

I know! I'm so glad we listening to the EA and held out. They have said they need 2 weeks rather than the 1 we specified to complete, but now they have exchanged they would lose their deposit (25 grand) if they tried any more funny busines, so highly unlikely.
Can't believe it...rally thought they'd walk away!

Starshinetiger · 20/11/2009 14:25

Yay Diege - fabby news (sorry was putting DD for nap when you posted, had been hovering for news). I assume that means you've still got your dream home?! Is fabby news. Will wave as we go past on M6 in December

Am so glad you have a good EA and you held out - what cheeky buggers they are!!! (am I allowed to use that word on here?

Diege · 20/11/2009 14:31

I'll let you off STAR . And if you look at my threqad in Property you'll see far worse language Yes, still have dream home (fingers crossed). Seriously, if anyone is up this way when we have our house warming you are all more than welcome to drop in!

Moosy · 20/11/2009 15:21

Hooray Diege, that's brilliant news, and what a relief! Hopefully your head will feel better now too

Hi
Sorry about my post earlier- I managed to cross with loads of you as it took me so long to write it!

CONGRATULATIONS DIEGE so pleased for you. Just goes to prove they were trying it on!

IDOB- so sorry to hear about your bad day yesterday. Sounded rather famililar to those early days with DD. Well done for getting through it though. Think it was a day like that when I rang DH at work and told him "that I cant do it anymore" !! Glad she is better today, she sounds gorgeous smiling

Cant- good to hear that DS is better for more sleep. Hope your saturday plans go ok and you are feeling better for it.

Hi to everyone else-

Moosy · 20/11/2009 18:45

Oof, I'm uncomfortable. Everything hurts and I have quite a lot of downwards pressure, my pelvis feels like it's about to fall apart, maybe this is the beginning of something.....?

IDOB, sorry you had a rubbish day yesterday but sounds like you're back to normal now

Diege · 20/11/2009 19:14

Hi GINGER! MOOS, ooh yes does sound like things are getting into gear. How exciting! Did you have these pains with the dds?
