dramaqueen72 · 17/06/2005 22:41

thanks mouseman but been on it many times.and tis MUCH better than the iron tablets the dr will give me if i leave it any longer!
minnie, yes definately time to say good bye to underwires isnt it? back to those , mmmmm, glamerous maternity/feeding bras then. oh great joy.
golden oldie, wow, impressive measurements there! i know of someone due in august with twins she is HUGE now and no way going to make it to august!.er... that wasnt meant to unnerve you or anything !LOL! just take lots of belly photos so you can look back and go WOW!
chickpea i have a dd 'georgia' as well! dd 'mollie' was nearly 'martha' too! we both have great taste!

goldenoldie · 18/06/2005 08:19

Minni - wired bras all confined to bottom of drawer weeks ago. Bought myself a few sports bras. Give just as much support as maternity bras but a lot cheaper. Primark does them for £4.00! Sorry, I'm a cheapskate.............

No good for feeding tho.

Anyone know where I can get good maternity support tights? M&S do good maternity tights, but not support ones. I asked the midwife and she did not know of a stockist!

Starry - yes, the heat is a killer, and I can't believe how big I am going to be. Midwife told me I will put about an inch a week on my waistline from now on - and I'm only 15/16 weeks.

Finishing work at 28 weeks - will be a struggle to get that far.

Bonkerz · 18/06/2005 09:09

Morning all,

feel like i have a mild hangover this morning!! No ms for 2 days then this!! Ah well.
Am annoyed at the midwife on the other thread who is saying i am endangering my baby by using the doppler! Maybe getting worked up over nothing but why do people say things like that? I would never do anything to knowingly harm my bean. Obviously she has never had a mc. Sorry.

Underwired bras are digging in bad but because of my size (44E) i dont know where to go to get measured in my area. When pregnant with ds i had to order in bras.

dramaqueen72 · 18/06/2005 09:16

bonkerz, try not to worry, she is just being cautious i think.
golden oldie, sounds like you may need to try online for tights,.jojo mamam bebe? blooming marvellous? somewhere like that might do them. same for your bras again bonkerz. oh got that sleep essence you said about, it is lovely and knocks dh and I right out! struggled to find something to wear today as its going to be hot, i really need a whole new bloody wardrobe but dh might not quite stretch to that. sigh.
have a good morning all.

george32 · 18/06/2005 09:35

Hi all,
Sorry you are getting some pretty insensitive comments Bonkerz. If it makes you feel better, I'm using my doppler pretty much daily at the moment & I haven't read anything that would stop me using it.

All my underwired bras have been hidden away for weeks now. I haven't been able to fit in any since about 4 weeks & I'm on to my 3rd set of non wired bras already as I keep getting bigger!!

Nipped into Top Shop on my way home yesterday as was so hot & bought some lovely new shorts, trousers & tops. Basically, anything that would make me cooler. Off shopping again today as it is really starting to get me down looking such a scruffy blob. I work with quite a lot of people in their 20s & they are all stick thin & trendy. The there is me, feeling round, greasy & hot & bothered usually found with a piece of chocolate hanging out of my mouth
GoldenOldie, you make me feel guilty for moaning so much, you poor thing. I think a dunk in a nice cool paddling pool could be on the cards for you today. That and a nice ice cream would cool you off nicely.
Have a god day everyone, hope you don't get too hot.
xx

Bonkerz · 18/06/2005 12:21

well was preatty shocked today, decided to take kids on bus into town and just happened upon a little shop. went in and asked if they did bras in my size or if they cuould order!! They were great, measured me and have ordered 2 support bras and even gave me 20% off!! Collect in 10 days! Big problem though cos am wearing 44E and she measured me at 46F already and ive lost weight!! Went up to a H cup with DS so am dreading getting measured for feeding bras!

dramaqueen72 · 18/06/2005 12:56

woah ladies its hot here, sat out in it for just an hour now cant stand it for abit. flushed face already...WITH sunscreen!
bonkerz how great you found somewhere that can help!
george, i too am tired of the five/six things that fit and need to go shopping. next week i will, dreading it tho, as will not be able to find much, and will outgrow that soon too! it feels like i am going to need maternity wear for height of summer AND depths of winter! so two wardrobes! dh was be thrilled. not....

goldenoldie · 18/06/2005 13:44

Bonkers - both my midwife and my obestrician told me that doppler was perfectly safe to use - every day if I wanted.

Nemo1977 · 18/06/2005 15:13

Harrizeb · 19/06/2005 21:12

Hi Sorry for gate crashing, just something for Bonkerz particularly the calcium thing - I found Danone water with add calcium when I was pg with DS one - so was able to increase my calcium intake by just drinking water. I suffered with cramp in my calf muscles quite badly and was told this was a lack of calcium so needed to do something!! hope it helps

Take care and hope you're not melting too much

Picked up a nasty stomach virus from ILs. It went to DD first, then DH, then me.

By Friday evening GP sent me to hospital after I was throwing up blood and running a fever. I went on a drip and got this heinous anti-nausea injection (seriously it was the sorest I've ever had and having had 4 major surgeries on my joints, 5 broken bones including a fractured skull and tail bone, forceps delivery and plenty of travel in developing nations, I've had a LOT of jabs). I was discharged yesterday, just in time for DD's 2nd bday party.

Baby is fine. Just that mum's knackered!

goldenoldie · 19/06/2005 21:49

expat - what a rotten weekend - you poor thing. Glad you and baby are fine now.

MINNIE1 · 20/06/2005 08:42

expatinscotland,
Bloody hell, Hope you relaxing and taking it easy. What a wkend hope you have your feet up.

ebbie22 · 20/06/2005 08:49

Explat, glad u are feeling better now,did youe 2 year old have a nice party?

ninah · 20/06/2005 09:16

expat so sorry to hear about that. are you feeling a bit better now? throwing up blood, scary. happy birthday dd!
Well sorry if this sounds smug but I am beginning to bloom at long last, feel healthier than ever, energy levels back and had a lovely weekend with ds, dss and dp. Saturday went to party with a samba band, really good fun, and Sunday my friend 'lent' me her garden cos she was going camping and ds and I sat in paddling pool for hours. mmm. Did have to work Sat morning but had energy to clean house first - amazing. Haven't felt so happy for ages, dp and I are getting on well and feel positive and confident about the future. Touching wood as I type this ... and hoping it doesn't sound too sickening.

sweetheart · 20/06/2005 09:36

Morning ladies,

Expat - sorry to hear you've been so unwell - hope you are feeling better now.

Goldenoldie - I'm very of you finishing work at 28 weeks - I'll be around 38 before I finish!!! Although with dd I worked right up until I went into labour so 2 weeks will be a massive bonus for me

What is a fundal height btw??? My waist is measuring 33 inchs !!!!!! My god goldenoldie - I'm only a bit behind you !!!!

I'm feeling a bit like you ninah - apart from being absolutly boiling and feeling a little faint in the heat my energy levels are back up and.........

sshhhhhh, I even got my sex drive back this weekend!!!

MINNIE1 · 20/06/2005 09:47

sweetheart,
That makes two of us about the sex drive!!! DP had all his Bdays come together!! It has been so long and we finally did it!!!! says the reborn virgin!!

dramaqueen72 · 20/06/2005 10:13

gosh expat so sorry to hear youve been so sick. glad baby is well and hope you to feel better asap.
welcome home nemo, hope you had a good break
just could not settle in the heat yesterday, its alittle cooler today tho not much. i can see our holiday in august going to be abit uncomfy! to put it mildly.
I am at least thinking about sex drive so hopefully mine wont be too long in kick starting itself like you guys!
those of us due christmas day -wohoo, 13 wks+, has it not taken FOREVER to get to trimester 2?!!!!
george/nemo -how wonderful to read about wendys BFP,wasnt it? gosh that lady deserves it!

is it nearly time to start a new thread? a week or so and wont we all be in 2nd trimester?

sweetheart · 20/06/2005 10:29

lol Minnie, DQ!!!

My dh was very pleased - I was feeling quite saucy we managed it twice this weekend. Could have gone for a third if it hadn't been so damn hot last night Let's just hope it lasts and the drought has ended!!!!

I've got my 16 week check on Wednesday and I'm really nervous about it. It was at this point last time round we were told we'd lost our babba so quite a sensative time really - plus the fact I would have been due on the 30th June, I'm feeling a little emotional at the moment - must be where the need for all those cuddles has stemmed from!!!

Thomcat · 20/06/2005 12:08

LOL at you saucy lot, I'm exactly the same, i haven't left DP alone, not that he's complaining I've been insatiable this weekend!

Going to the Centre for Fetal Care (or something like that) in Harley St tomorrow. Will find out results the same day rather than having to wait till the 15th. That's too long to wait and then we go on holiday so I need to get ths sorted once and for all so, ........ roll on tomorrow. Uggghhh my stomach just did the biggest flip then. I so wish I wasn't doing this but now I've started it I need to carry on and get the best results back in the fastest possible time.

dramaqueen72 · 20/06/2005 12:10

well wishing you a good and happy checkup on wednesday then s/h. must indeed be a nervous time for you.

please somebody tell me what to buy to wear.......i have nothing left to wear. i am cinderella!! if anybody has any shops or items they are delighted with at this odd pg but not huge pg stage I'd love to hear about them!
