Doing what's right for you and your family does not make you a bad person.

I think you are very brave for facing the fact that despite your view on testing, there are circumstances where it is almost unavoidable. That doesn't mean though, that your previous beliefs are any less valid, just that you have been presented with an incredibly difficult set of circumstances that none of us would like to have to deal with.

I hope this makes sense and doesn't come across as patronising, it's really not meant to. I think you are incredibly brave.
Good luck for tomorrow.

Thom
Thinking of you!

mouseman · 23/06/2005 17:20

Thomcat - I was in a similar turmoil on Tuesday but you must remember that whatever you choose to do, it will be the right thing for you and your family. These hard decisions are not taken lightly and you must never allow yourself to feel guilty - there is no need when you have made the right decision for everyone. I wish you all the very best and hope that the outcome tomorrow is the very best it can be.

Thomcat · 23/06/2005 17:22

It's okay!
It's okay
It's all okay.

george32 · 23/06/2005 17:30

Have you had the results early TC?

And everything is OK?

If so, that is fantastic. I'm so pleased for you after all your worry. What great news.

Bonkerz · 23/06/2005 18:24

Congrats again TC and glad you are coming to join us properly now. You are a very strong and brave mummy, i really admire your courage.

Hope you all are coping with the heat. Have been drinking lucozade today which has helped me alot. Am now eating a homemade rice pudding to help with my calciom intake. YUMMY!!

Got my scan tomorrow and am still worried even though i know ive got something bubbling around in there cos heard it on the doppler last night! Strain is showing on dh and i and we are not good friends at the moment, Hopefully after the scan we can start to relax properly. Scan at 1.40!

goldenoldie · 23/06/2005 18:30

Glad everything is OK Tomcat.

Nemo1977 · 23/06/2005 19:40

oooooooooo TC hun u had me crying one min with your pain and now im crying but grinning with your joy. I am sooooooo glad they got back to you quickly and that everything is all right. I know it must have been a heartbreaking decision as like you I am someone who doesnt do the tests...however my view probably would have been different this time if Adam had downs or another form of SN. just hugs to you for your turmoil and joy and to mr tc and lottie too

MINNIE1 · 23/06/2005 19:53

Thomcat,
Did you get the results early?
Thats brill news, Glad you can now relax and chill out.. Feet up girl and rest you have been through alot. I am delighted for you.

starrynight · 23/06/2005 20:10

I'm really pleased for you too.

Thanks for well wishers for my bad day yesterday - had another bad morning but feeling better now. My DS has hit the 'terrible fours' and is a nightmare at the moment - far worse than ever he was as a toddler...he is now totally unmanageable in a screaming tantrum as he is big and strong! Lord, I hope he gets out of it before this one is born.

My 1st scan is next Monday morning - so hopefully will have a piccie and good news then as I haven't heard h/b or anything yet.

Nemo1977 · 23/06/2005 20:11

hi starrynight hope scan goes well when r u due...think u r one of last to have scan.

starrynight · 23/06/2005 20:11

Is it time for another thread now we are all through to 2nd trimester or are we waiting for everyone to have their first scan?

starrynight · 23/06/2005 20:12

I am due 29th/30th December. So must be one of the last - how I envy those who are already 16-17 wks lol

starrynight · 23/06/2005 20:13

Its really quiet on here when everyone is off from work isn't it

Nemo1977 · 23/06/2005 20:21

it is quiet of a night...all the gabbing in the day here..pmsl

starrynight · 23/06/2005 20:30

Have you read the 'my DH is an arse' thread? Hilarious.

Nemo1977 · 23/06/2005 20:31

i havent but will do now...lol

expatinscotland · 23/06/2005 20:35

Feel very 2nd trimester now. Had long booking in appointment today - vials and vials of blood were taken. Got my blue notebook w/all my notes. Made it feel more real and am looking forward to the birth in December and having the new baby with us.

Nemo1977 · 23/06/2005 20:38

bonkerz, good luck for your scan, bet its going to be wonderful.. let us know!
starry- hope youre hanging in there, seems most of us are raging hormonal women right now -and heck! we are allowed to be!- heres wishing monday round swiftly for you too....... we must be getting near the cut off date for everyones 'panic date' woohoo!!!
expat/nemo - a blue book? well youre very lucky! i got a handful of papers and was told to get myself a plastic wallet for them!!!!!!! charming!

sweetheart · 24/06/2005 09:30

Morning everyone,

George, welcome back - it's nice to see you posting again.

Bonkerz, good luck for your scan today - let us know how you get on. Likewise for you starrynight for Monday.

Minnie, if you manage to find a wedding outfit please tell me where you get it from. We're going to a wedding in 3 weeks and I'm having a nightmare trying to find something.

TC, sweetie!!!! Your post moved me so so much. Your a fabulous lady and I'm sure the 1st person to agree with me would be your beautiful Lottie!!! I really really hope your post means you got brilliant news, you deserve it so much. Please come back and tell us all your news - we can't wait to hear from you!!!

Well, I did what I think was a very brave thing yesterday. I actually let myself believe that this pregnancy is for keeps and so I packed all my pre-pregnancy clothes into a suitcase. I'd been needing extra space for a while but had convinced myself I'd be needing the clothes again before long.

I think a new thread would be a positive step for us all - perhaps after your scan on Monday starrynight??? What is everyone else's opinion???

dramaqueen72 · 24/06/2005 09:36

oh yes a new thread next week would be fab, I could do with the positive step it means each time we move on a thread.
I dont know how you ladies are doing wedding clothes, i have enough trouble getting dressed for everyday!
s/h -that sounds a brave step indeed, packing your clothes away, good for you.

ninah · 24/06/2005 09:45
