I was quite interested in going into forensic accounting but I don't think I've got enough brains to do that!!!

I do sometimes wonder what I could have achieved with the PA but I'm more realistic now I'm grown up. Although having said that I did get an audition for Hollyoaks about 6 months ago - chickened out of going though, was frightened it would confirm I wasn't good enough I suppose. I got the lead in college stuff which is good enough for me.
I used to do community theatre alot - raised lots of money for charity's - but I got fed up of the small minded people with no talent and all their politics!!!!!

I can still be found in the pub some Saturdays doing karaoke (well when I'm drunk enough) much to my dh's embaressment!!!! My dd loves having sing alongs in the car though

Would love to teach Drama to kids though - although I'm always reminded of the phrase "those who can't, teach"

It's a shame you don't get to paint anymore - do you ever think of taking it up again???

Hollyoaks! crikey! impressed, shallow of me I know. I think teaching drama would be fun, I have thought about doing a PGCE and teaching art but a bit old now. I'll certainly paint again once I can set some time aside atm I'm always exhausted, maybe it will be better on Mat leave ..?! you need a bit of space, time and emotional energy to do good work. I had a local exhibition just b4 ds and it was great, would love to do another, just need the work.
Docs was fine, btw he said although I am 13 weeks he will not listen to heart as it's not always poss to hear it at this stage and it's not worth the anxiety. So be heartened. Only 3 hours for you!

Re the Hollyoaks thing - I couldn't bear being put up against all the skinny beauties they have on that programme. They would have cast me in a "chloe" type roll I rekon!! She the overweight funny one for anyone who doesn't watch the programme - and the only girl in it that weighs more than 9 stone!!!!

It's great that you'll consider going back to your Art work. I think I'm a bit past getting up on a stage now. I'm not half as obnoxious as I used to be

I've just been to get a sanwich for lunch - don't think I can bring myself to eat it. I'm so nervous I've got butterflys in my stomach!!! (and no - it's not the baby moving!!)

they wouldn't audition you at all for Hollyoaks unless you were pretty aesthetic though. And you can sing! gosh I would like to open my mouth and sign in tune I love all those 30's torch singers etc, it would be great to just get up and captivate everyone (for the right reasons)

Another mn'er and I were plotting to change out names and post an entirely provoking thread just to amuse ourselves.

We were thinking of titles along the lines of:-

"I'm having an affair with a married man but it's OK coz his wifes a cow"

OR
"I play with myself infront of my children - it's good for their education"
OR (and I think the best one)

"My child's a bully and I like it coz s/he's not the victim"

hee hee - not things I would find funny in RL but might provide some fun on here!!!!

And btw, I said I do sing - not I can sing!!!

afternoon all, good luck in a mo then s/h. hoep all is fine. booking is VERY long and boring.lots of forms and 'did you or have you ever had.......' type questions. my lovely midwife came to my house to do it over a cup of tea when i was 12wks.

i have been grocery shoppping FOR HOURS and my feet are now all puffy and hurt......mmm, lovely.

TC, Any news, hope your ok.

Yay! Had another scan today (officially my 12 weeker because I went private for the nuchal scan), and they put me at 14+1 (my last one put me at 13+2). I'm not going to change my due date on here because they haven't changed it on my forms - they've made a note of it but said as it's within a week of the other one it's not worth changing it.

Baby looked fine - could see a lot more than a couple of weeks ago, spine etc. And saw between the legs. DH swears he saw enough to claim it's a boy, but I asked the ultrasound technician whether she could tell this early. She said sometimes yes, particularly if it's a very obvious boy, but not with ours today. So I think DH was imagining it...

Anyway, he/she was having a good old wiggle and I'm very happy and feel much better now. And almost surprised I'm pregnant, which is silly I know. It keeps hitting me, as I sit at my desk and pretend to get on with some work!

congrats baby gibbon, how exciting to see the little guy again!! girls do look very much like boys from quickish glimpses in scans (i know- had a dd when sure saw it was a ds!) so i dont know how sure your dh is.... of course if hes right at the birth he will go on about it for days!!LOL! I'm so glad it was so lovely for you!

tc -any new news yet? am keeping much crossed for you hun.

Well, have been for my appt and heard the heartbeat!!!

Am starting to believe the fact that this time in a few months I may actually have a beautiful little bubba!!!!!!

2 weeks and counting till my london scan - feeling more positive about it now!!!

YIPPEEEEEEEEE Time for a celebration tonight - might treat myself to a couple of glasses of wine
