Nemo1977 · 21/06/2005 16:21

howdy dody all
well i have one whiney toddler here if anyone wants to swap for a peaceful office...lol
I have just cut the grass and washed down kitchen cupboards and sides. I need to tidy living room but no point until ds is in bed as he has books n toys everywhere and I also have huge box of dvds that im trying to sell...so bit of a mess at the min...lol

hope TC is ok maybe she has gone to pick up her DD?

novadandypowder · 21/06/2005 16:21

sorry to gatecrash the december thread, but i just wanted to suggest French Connection for some great summer transition clothes. I never usually shop there but this season they have fab wrap dresses, skirts with a tie side rather than a zip/button, some loose baggy pants and lovely tops that would last all the way through. I find proper maternity wear is only good when you have a big bump. I also found some good stuff in Sweaty Betty recently, and Isabella Oliver has some wrap based designs that work from transition to full term.

Happy shopping x

ninah · 21/06/2005 16:24

No, still here! just got called on for something
Shame about your hols. It just seems a waste being in an office today. The weather's on teh turn anyway, then we'll be glad of coffee time, mn etc!
The clothes thing is a bit odd, cos ds was September nearly all my big clothes were warmish, now we need some a bit big for summer and very big for winter!

Just spent £75 on a dress from french connection !!!

That'll teach me for looking!!!

Nemo1977 · 21/06/2005 16:33

aww sh u could have had a doppler for that and hid it at work

sweetheart · 21/06/2005 16:36

lol nemo!!

Well the dress is for a wedding - and I'll probably send it back anyway, it's quite fashionable for me!!!

If they find the heartbeat at my mw appt tomorrow I may have to invest in a doppler of my very own

sweetheart · 21/06/2005 16:38

it's this one in coral, what do you think????

Nemo1977 · 21/06/2005 16:38

woo hoo we will all be in the doppler gang..lol mine should be here in the morning and im soooo sed as I just cant wait..lol

hope u like the dress when it arrives

Nemo1977 · 21/06/2005 16:40

mmm im not sure...not what i would wear but if you had the figure then it will look gorgeous

sweetheart · 21/06/2005 16:42

yes I'm not sure either but I've had no luck finding something so far - and it's a wrap dress and they do free returns so it's worth a shot!!!!!

Sometimes things are better when you try them on?!?!?!?!?!?!

We could start "The doppler gang" couldn't we!!!

Ninah - you'd better not be doing work

ninah · 21/06/2005 16:42

I really like it sh! I am v tempted myself
only the rate I am growing it would be too small before it arrived

OP posts:
sweetheart · 21/06/2005 16:45

lol - I've ordered a size 14, am normally a 12. I'll let you know how it fits when it gets here.

Only another 15 mins and we can go home YEAH

ninah · 21/06/2005 16:46

yeah, damn stuff got in the way for a mo
I feel I have to be really mean with myself with clothes atm, cos I won't 'get the wear' I really resent this puritan streak. And although I look and feel really well, I feel far from attractive with this huge stomach
There is no way you'll catch me with a doppler. Wd make me far far too anxious

OP posts:
Nemo1977 · 21/06/2005 16:47

oo ninah i dont know both myself and sh where saying that last week. Now i have ordered one and she is toying wiht idea..pmsl

ninah · 21/06/2005 16:48

wd far rather have the dress than the doppler tho! let me know if it's really really nice .... I may have to get one in the taupe, after all we do have 'occasions'!

OP posts:
ninah · 21/06/2005 16:49

order placed - I can go home now!!!!

Thomcat · 21/06/2005 18:01

Hi girls, hope you are all feeling ok today and not suffering in the heat too much.

No real news for you after todays appt, still all kind of inconclusive.
My blood tests = excellent
Nasal bone = present and correct
nuchal translucency = 3.2mm = quote "doesn't look good I'm afraid" unquote.
So risk, without Lottie being in the equation, with my maternal age at 33yrs and being 13 weeks + 5 days I'm 1 in 707.
Which in itself isn't bad but the lady doing the scan is concerned about that neck measurement and says it could mean DS but could be heart problems.
So as it was all a bit grey she has made an appt for me to see the professor himself tomorrow - Professor Nicolaides.
So, it drags on. I'm trying very hard to bond with baby still but fear is making that a bit tricky and so I feel guilty on top of everything else. I had a few tears escape down my cheeks today but haven't actually cried, I'm fighting em down inside and trying just to be 'normal'.
Until tomorrow, god bless and take care TC x

Nemo1977 · 21/06/2005 18:34

TC hun
firstly u have nothing to feel guilty about at all
secondly please dont fight the tears to be 'normal' if you need to cry then do it as bottling it up will not help u in anyway. Hope ur appointment with the consultant goes a little more positively
