Hello

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 17/10/2009 18:51

My booking in appointment took two hours - surely that must be some kind of record!? She was lovely, but insisted on giving me an EDD of 02/05/10 even though I said "I think I'm due about the 20th, according to the scan I had" so hopefully they'll adjust that after my dating scan or they'll be pressuring me to be induced at 38 weeks!

She couldn't get any blood out of me even with a hot water bottle held on my arm. I think maybe I'm a zombie.

Trying4Baby1 · 17/10/2009 18:58

Hiya James I had my first scan on Thurs and she's changed my EDD from end of April to start of May so will probably move onto this board. MW couldn't get any blood from me either so I now have a hole in each arm and I have to go back on Tues. Been told if she still can't get blood I'll have to go to my GP. MW blamed me for not drinking enough water and that's why she couldn't get a vein!

memorylapse · 17/10/2009 19:11

lol James ..I have an image of you as extra from Shaun of the Dead

2 hours

Jennylee · 18/10/2009 09:45

Hi has anyone else's morning sickness, suddenly disappeared, I'm 11 weeks today and since thursday I've been feeling better and not nauseous, but is worrying me as I can't remember when it stopped with my other 2 and my friend recently had a mmc and told me about it in such detail that I can't get it out of my head. It has made me really anxious and dying to see my first scan, hear a heart beat, some evidence of it being there.

Jennylee · 18/10/2009 09:48

I have my booking appointment tomorrow, would the midwife have a doppler and be able to hear anything or is it too early?

Hollyoaks · 18/10/2009 10:46

positivethinking sorry to hear your news , good luck for the future.

ML your not filling me with much hope, I've been crossing my fingers that when I reach the magic 12 week mark I'll start to feel better.

jennylee didn't want to leave your post unanswered but not really sure. I don't think they check routinely till 16 weeks as you may not be able to find the heartbeat as bubs is so small and then that leads to unnecessary worry. Hopefully with more info will be along shortly.

sweetkitty · 18/10/2009 11:19

Morning everyone still feeling so rough here nothing new to report 11+1 weeks today so getting there, scan is 12+6 so once I have had that will relax and start planning for this LO, this will involve new pram, car and extension lol so nothing much really, extension will have to wait until after the baby is born so not looking forward to that upheavel but we only have 2 1/2 bedrooms really so needs to be done.

positivethinking - so sorry you are having to leave us good luck and hope to see you back on an antenatal thread soon x

jennylee - my MW said they don't even listen before 20 weeks now but especially this early as chances are they won't be able to hear anything then they have to act on it, maybe it's just time for your MS to go, try not to worry

james - 2 hours must be a record! My MW didn't even write my EDD down said she will confirm it with the dating scan (even though I have had a scan at 9 weeks which confirmed my dates)

swangirl - welcome, don't worry about not seeing a MW I have just seen mine at 11 weeks and some people are 13 weeks and beyond

memorylapse · 18/10/2009 12:25

Jennylee-try not to worry..I think its usual for MS to start tailing off at this stage for most people.

Hollyoaks- sorry if Im worrying you..tbh because I have hyperemesis..its usual for my sickness to go to about 14-15 weeks..theres no reason why you shouldnt start feeling better as you hit 12 weeks

Im 11+5 today and was sick as soon as I woke up this morning..feel awful today..just realised that I havent had my hair cut for 3 months..I look like a scarecrow

DS2 is poorly and Im hoping its not swine flu..he has a raging sore throat, temp of 39 and a headache, he also feels sick

Hollyoaks · 18/10/2009 12:38

ML thanks for the reassurance, just having a bad day feeling really rough and don't have teh energy to get off the sofa never mind go to the supermarket as the cupboards are so bare. Hope your ds feels better too.

12 weeks seems so far away!!!!!!

memorylapse · 18/10/2009 16:01

Hollyoaks..can DH not pop out and get a bit of shoppin g in?

DS 2 is very poorly..wouldnt be surprised if its swine flu..but im not about to start ringing NHS direct as they will say it is even if it isnt!

memorylapse · 18/10/2009 18:00

grrr DH is in my bad books..he has just dished me up a sald thats 4 days past its use by date and had actually gone a funny colour..have just given him a lecture about listeria and did not eat the salad..however am feeling very paranoid about the fact it had touched some of my other dinner..think I might need to get a grip

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 18/10/2009 18:39

memorylapse, you do have to be careful though don't you. Although I happily ate angel delight that expired in february last week. I had to have itttt!

My ds is poorly at the moment, got a cold and cough which is making him throw up because he can't clear his chest, poor thing. Sick of him getting everything going at playgroup! I know it'll build his immune system long term, but I'm quite scared of him coming home with swine flu!

JennyLee, try not to worry about your ms vanishing, it's about the right time!

memorylapse · 18/10/2009 18:47

I love Angel Delight...I think the danger is refrigerated food which is a breeding ground for listeria...Ive posted about it in pregnancy cos Ive got myself in a state and am not talking to DH at the moment.

Playgroups, nurseries and schools are a haven for bugs..my kids are always picking things up..hope your DS is better soon

pamelat · 18/10/2009 19:25

Hello all. It would appear it is now "normal" not to be seen until 10 weeks. I have my booking in appt on Tues and will be 11 weeks by then. I just hope the scan date comes through quickly afterwards.

We had a child free evening last night, but were back at home by 830pm in PJ's just so tired and its not the same not being able to have a drink (appreciate that sounds bad)

I second the tearful comment. I burst in to tears at the suggestion that people would not yet know i was pregnant but that I was looking "just podgy".

memorylapse · 18/10/2009 19:35

Pamela..I didnt get seen until 11 weeks..it seems they dont like to see you until you are as close as possible to 12 weeks..my scan date came through when I was about 10 weeks but they actually decided to do my 12 week scan when I was seen in clinic last weds

Yorky · 18/10/2009 19:49

I don't get my booking in appt until a week on Wednesday, and my scan until Nov10. Jealous of all those who have already seen their beans.

Had a lovely afternoon here, DH took both DCs to see his mum as its her birthday tomorrow so he got brownie points and I got a sleep and no MIL!

Sorry to those who are still felling horrible, hope it eases soon

brightredballoon · 18/10/2009 19:49

Hi everyone,

Swangirl I have my booking in appointment and scan on Wednesday and I will be 12 +2, I think some areas get in you in quickly and others see it as no hurry at all!

Jenny my nausea feeling and tiredness eased up at just over 10wks which also concerned me but like you I keep telling myself that I am sure it was about that stage with my other two children that I started to feel a bit better. Fingers crossed we are both fine, try not to worry and enjoy feeling a bit better!

Sweetkitty we went to a few garages today to have a look around cars. My friend has a Kia Sedona and absolutely loves it. I quite liked the Citroen Picasso C4 and a Toyota V something. I think we need to get a new car as I have a civic and I can't get a stage 1, stage 2 and booster seat in the back but I can just fit two boosters and the baby carrier/stage 2, can anyone remember when a child moves up to a booster seat (the one with head and side protectors).

Just had the most delicious chinese meal, really hit the spot which is so satisfying

Hollyoaks · 18/10/2009 19:56

ML he did go and do a shop for me and took dd so had an hours peace. I've now got some Ben n Jerrys to feast on (hopefully) if my stomach can take it. Ooh and whoever mentioned angel delight has got me wanting that too. Should I send dh out again and say its a craving?

memorylapse · 18/10/2009 20:10

Hollyoaks..he! he! I dare you!
Im craving angel delight now..its so yummy and creamy..mind you earlier it was treacle sponge pudding..of course I doubt I could keep any of it down!

just watching X Factor and dont think much to Cheryl Coles new song

FullMooniMarmite · 18/10/2009 20:10

Hi All

Just marking my spot. Hope you're all ok.

Early scan tomorrow...hopefully will be on here a bit more after that...fingers crossed.

eatincakealot · 18/10/2009 20:23

hello! would like to join! im due 2nd may...well im sure its at least a week later but was induced with Ds at 36 weeks as was measuring 44 and he was large considering my size.
i had an early scan as they thought i was eptopic...all fine. but have another on fridayso hopefully will have amuch more accurate date.
i am so glad that i read this tread as have been worrying about sickness stopping ( which i never had with DS) thought that there could be something wrong. hopefully will see the new one all fine on friday.
will hopefully be back soon to tell all!
finger crossed and congratulations to you all!

pamelat · 18/10/2009 20:51

I think this is the only area in which I dare confide that I ate my DD's lasagne at 5pm (she did not like it so had to quickly do emergency fish fingers), then I shared her veg. Then I had two portions of chicken dinner at 7pm, including 7 roast potatoes. I genuinely can not stop eating. Am sure its partially physchological, its like I have given myself a green card to eat everything, am really enjoying it.

Jennylee · 18/10/2009 20:53

Thanks for the reassurance everyone, am feeling a bit better just now as was really tired so that part is still the same. If it has stopped already and the baby is fine that is good I should look on the bright side

lizzie9442 · 19/10/2009 07:33

morning everyone,

I have my scan today at 1.45 and I am so nervous. I hardly slept last night. I can't take any more bad news but in a strange way I just expect it to be bad because of my last 2 mcs so fingers crossed. I am 12+3 today so they should see a baby hopefully. I will also be having the nuchual test so have to have more blood taken to which I hate. Will let you know how I got on later xxxx

lizzie9442 · 19/10/2009 07:34

sorry that should of said because of the last 3 mcs xx
