morning ladies. eurgh. could do with another 12 hours sleep!!! was falling asleep on the sofa at 8.30 last night. All 4 DC's are arguing like mad this morning. They were fab yesterday, but this morning, I'm having one of those 'what have i let myself in for??' days. I'm going to try and summon the strength to take them for a walk with the dog in a bit. Got so much to do, baths, uniforms, homework etc ready for tomorrow. DH is working today as ever so have to do it all alone, and the inlaws are coming round after lunch. Groan.

cupcake they only usually do early scans if you are having problems/had previous problems. Only 2 days til mine and I will find out if little bubs has got a hearbeat this time. Very anxious!!

pigleychez, glad you had a nice night out!

brightredballoon, have no word of advice, but didn't want your post to go un-noticed!

TwentiethCenturyHeffa · 04/10/2009 09:18

pamelat - poor you Are you able to just call the MW?

BRB - it's madness that some people don't get the 20wk scan, I had no idea.

I am soooo tired too, just got up but could already go back to bed!

tiggsy · 04/10/2009 10:07

morning all! having one of those days today where i just can't stop thinking something is going to go wrong, silly tho as i'm less at risk this time as had a physical job with dd. is it just me or do other people worry too? really getting me down

tiggsy · 04/10/2009 10:07

sorry for moaning lol! x

TwentiethCenturyHeffa · 04/10/2009 10:25

Tiggsy - I know exactly what you mean, I keep worrying that it's going to go wrong It was making me really depressed last week but I've been getting a bit more used to it all now. It's a horrid feeling.

Hollyoaks · 04/10/2009 11:20

Hi all, lots of posts to catch up. Congratulations to anyone new to the thread.

Got my 12 week scan date and its on Friday 13th Hope thats not an omen. Just something else for me to get excited, nervous and worry about.

Nausea has started with a vengence, find mint imperials help but dreading work on Tuesday . 6 lessons and an after school revision session seems like too much hard work.

tiggsy · 04/10/2009 11:43

Hollyoaks i found ice,ice cold coke helped with my nausea a lot, it was also what i used to find helped if i had a hangover when i was younger lol!

Hollyoaks · 04/10/2009 11:50

tiggsy working at laptop drinking a glass of diet coke. great mind must think alike

memorylapse · 04/10/2009 13:05

well I survived the meal!..I took my cyclizine tablets and sucked polos all the way through..its a welsh bistro which serves lovely food, but they seem to have this thing about undercooking meat..hence my chicken was not thouroughly cooked, so I picked off the cooked bits and left the rest, then spent the rest of the evening convinced I had listeria..the meal I ordered was a homemade chicken kiev type thing but it was filled with leeks..I couldnt have touched it at all without my cyclizine, but I was horrified as I was cutting into a piece and saw it was really pink I didnt want to make afuss so I just left it..

havent had an appt for a 12 week scan yet so may ring the midwives tomorrow and chase that up.

Im beginning to wonder if Ive chosen the right hospital to have the baby..the alternative in Chester seems to have better facilities and is rated better for its maternity services

TwentiethCenturyHeffa · 04/10/2009 13:14

memorylapse - glad your meal out went well although the thought of a pink chicken kiev is making me feel quite ill!

Really really want a cold coke now

audley · 04/10/2009 13:27

Hello to everyone, please may I join you? Just found out that I am expecting #2 on 28 May. DS is 20 months. We are thrilled but a little surprised because we weren't going to ttc until Christmas! I seem to have no symptoms other than tiredness, but then I have a cold so if I hadn't had a strange urge to take a test I wouldn't have known
Hope you are all doing well and I must say reading posts from those of you expecting ~3 or more makes me feel both envious and in awe!

AnAngelWithin · 04/10/2009 13:53

glad your meal went ok in the end memorylapse.

welcome audley! congratulations!

Positivethinking · 04/10/2009 14:42

Welcome to everyone new and congratulations.

I am really struggling with nausea..bleurghhh

Haven't actually been sick (perhaps that would be better?) but have had pretty much continuous nausea and somersaulting stomach since about Friday. I have managed (forced myself) to eat and drink small amounts. Really getting me down a bit now actually as it has meant that I have struggled to carry on as normal and dreading going to work tomorrow.

Also I think I am really getting myself into a bit of a state as my mother had a very difficult 1st pregnancy where she was nauseous and sick continuously from early on until 8 months and she ended up being hospitalised on two occasions in order that she could be re-hydrated. I can't help wondering whether I have the same ahead? Or am I just being silly?

Do you guys have any views on whether your own pregnancy is likely or not to follow that of your mothers?

Hope everyone is having a good weekend

mmmmmchocolate · 04/10/2009 14:50

Welcome to audley today has been awful I havnt managed to keep anything down yet. I thought I might have a stomach bug but I've got no stomach ache or anything else to say I may have. I've got no appitite even having a drink makes me want to throw up I've just eaten a few salt and vinegar crisps but feeling no better. Poor DD has been ignored for most of the day and she's been a little angel I could cry for her I really could. This feels far worse than last time.

growingbump2 · 04/10/2009 14:52

Hi everyone,

I am new to this and am due my second baby on 11th May! Getting quite excited now although still very anxious and looking forward to getting my scan on 28th October! I have a beautiful boy already who is 22 months!

mmmmmchocolate · 04/10/2009 14:53

X post positivethinking! My mother had no morning sickness with me and I've had it both times so maybe there is a pattern but I havnt seen it myself. It's awful isn't it especially when you can do nothing to ease it

sweetkitty · 04/10/2009 15:51

Hope everyone is having a good Sunday, had a friend over today she was on call for DD3's birth says she is not getting up at 3am again though (she did say oh no not again and you are insane too).

Nausea not too bad, fancy something really naughty for dinner but as DP is away marathon running and I have the DDs here and cannot be bothered getting all ready and going out and don't have enough cash to have anything delivered I am stuck

memorylapse - that is shocking undercooked chicken is really dangerous (Salmonella and Campylobacter not Listeria) they should be shot for serving pink chicken, the thought makes me wretch a bit too but glad you got through it

Growingbump and audley - welcome to our little thread and congratulations

brightredballoon - I want to go to RAH now, sounds much better than here doesn't it? I can see your dilemma and no one would think any less of you having a ECS, I cannot imagine a crash section

it's SOOOO cold today winter is here again, been thinking I need some new jeans but they will probably be maternity ones, I still have loads of maternity clothes so will probably get a 3 pack of tops from Next and a pair of jeans and live in big cardi's all winter.

memorylapse · 04/10/2009 16:43

Sweetkitty-I was a bit shocked myself..but didnt want to make a fuss as it was DM's party. Thank fully then I guess I dont have salmonella or camphylobacter as I would be horibly ill..had camphylobactor once and I was so ill..GP had to prescribe anti biotics in the end..not nice.

Positivethinking-try not to worry..your pregnancy could be totally different from your mums.
my mum never had a days sickness with me, she didnt know she was pregnant until she was 3 months gone..yet I get hyperemesis

Sophie2008 · 04/10/2009 19:25

Hello

I am expecting Twins around 14th May. Anyone else here have twins or expecting them too. Already have a DD1 who is 14 mths at the mo, so will have three under the age of 2.

No sure how i am going to manage, but i am sure it will be fine. It doesn't help with some telling me "you're going to have your hands full", kinda freaks me out a bit!

Any advice would be great. x

suey2 · 04/10/2009 19:27

Ml that is a nightmare! But I understand you not complaining in the circumstances: if you had you would have probably felt obliged to eat the whole lot when you got it back!

Positivethinking: don't fall for the old wives tale. My pg was totally different to my mums. She had 4 easy births whereas I had a nightmare! Everyone and every pg is different. If you were a hyperemesis type you'd be there now. Just count down the weeks to the end of the first trimester and most folk feel so much better then.

Hi All, trying to catch up on everyone's posts - congrats to those who have joined and glad the recent scans went well too.

James, sorry your still aving a time of it - hopefully you can relax a bit on holiday, try to stay positive.

I have a scan on wednesday - think i'm around 6 weeks, things didn't go well last time round so they are keeping a close eye so living on tender hooks at the moment hopeing that all is going well.

Finding it very difficult socialising without drinking and people asking questions - also beginning to get a complex about the amount of drining i did do!!! seems unlike me apparently!!!

No MS but some nausea and tender boobs ! taking as good signs

Den26 · 04/10/2009 20:49

oops ment drinking not drining!!

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 04/10/2009 20:51

Hi and welcome Sophie, we do indeed have another expectant mum of twins, AllwaysDoingSomething. How exciting to have two sets on the thread! do you know if they're identical or not yet?

Hope everyone is doing ok, I'm feeling so sick today (not sick enough to actually BE sick, shouldn't complain really) all I want to do is drink cold squash but I'm bloated and heavy with liquid!

Also on my fifth? sixth? coldsore now. VERY fed up of them now! Think I had 6 during early pregnancy with ds so I hope this is my last one!

Got more packing to do tonight, when ds is in bed and I can concentrate. Hope you're all doing ok! x

Positivethinking · 04/10/2009 21:08

Thanks for the reassurance - sounds like I might need to just stop worrying....It really helps being able to talk about it all on here though.

Here's counting down the days til the end of the first trimester.

Congrats to Sophie2008 on the twins

Sophie2008 · 04/10/2009 21:10

hello,

I had a scan which showed i was just over 7 weeks, (i got my dates mixed up). The said they from the looks of it they are non identical.

Got another scan at the end of the month so will hopefully know for sure.
