He is beautiful! MMM - I've seen some photos of the christening on FB
I love the little outfit he wore for it!

glaskham · 04/09/2009 20:47

DH has just phoned- They are currently watching JLS so the DC's didn't wanna move- they're singing Rhianna's 'umberella' and the Dc's are loving it!! Then they're gonna come home when they've finished their bit as they're drenched!!

Kayzr · 05/09/2009 05:56

Morning.

MMM, I haven't been since I was at school. So at least 7 years!! I'll take plenty of pics.

I am half dead. DS2 woke at 2 and then we had to get up at 5. The boys don't mind being up early though.

Hope you all have good weekends.

glaskham · 05/09/2009 08:58

morning- still have a bit of my headache.... but wondering if i can still take the older DC's to my sisters....

hi everyone. thanks for all your meessages, especilly star and glask.apologies in advance for poor typing... weird touch keyboard.
still in hospital at least til mon. joe doing ok, but breathing is compromised as he has a condition called pierre robin sequence which means his tongue falls back into the cleft. he has to be on his tummy at all times and will need tube feeding for the next few months. feeling pretty devestated tbh. been an endless cycle of expressing, sterelising, feeding, learning how to manage his needs and trying to rest too. he cant go home til ive done 24 hour shift of care on my own and had resucitation training. need lie flat car seat as he,ll have to travel flat on his tummy. all so much to take on. hosp have been amazing and very supportive of bf, but it sometimes feels a bit pointless.
he really is the sweetest little boy tho and i feel so blessed to have him. so in love!!

glaskham · 05/09/2009 09:20

Aww- Kooky- i'm crying... I may not have been in the same situation as you but i do know exactly how you feel. Its so had doing all the expressing, and everything that comes after that, and it does sometimes feel pointless- especcially when your feeling so tired. Its so tough knowing you can't take your own baby home till you've 'had care of him', i had the same with DD2, had to have at least 24hrs care.

How will the cleft be 'fixed'? will they operate, or will it grow together in time? never known anyone with it, or with a child with it so sorry for the questions.

Please do take care of yourself, if expressing gets too much dont feel bad to let him have a bit of formula aswell- may take a bit of the pressure off you for a few hours... In the first few days DD2 had some formula, and i'm glad for it as i'd never have coped in those first few days.

Morning . KOOKY, while I can;t for a miniute say I know what you're going through, I can (partly) imagine how tough these first few days will be for you, adjusting to a situation that I'm sure you weren;t expecting. I have heard of PRS before (it's come up as part of my research interviews) and I know there's a really good organisation (CLAPA - Cleft Lip and palate association) that offers parents brilliant support. They also have an excellent website with inspiring stories etc. Apologies if you know all this already! Really looking forward to hearing more about your gorgeous little boy and seeing some piccies soon!!

Enjoy Alton Towers today KAYZ! Hope the weather is kind to you.

Hi MMM! Looking forward to meeting you at York (I am the oldie of the group )Do you have the same shopping gene as your sister?

GLASK, hope headache improves - have to say how brilliant yours (and Star's) advice has been to Kooky.

Lots to do today. Need to list more on ebay and also have promised dd3 a trip to Nandos (dh taking older dds on works' outing to Anderton lift - a canal boat trip that involved using a lift in the water Still, they should enjoy it, I'm just weird And need to start seriously decluttering this house if we are moving!!!
Wishing everyone a good weekend

glaskham · 05/09/2009 09:59

Diege- my sister can shop when she wants to, but dont think she's as much of a shopaholic as me!! haha!!

OP posts:
Diege · 05/09/2009 10:02

We can but show her the road to bankruptcy shopping heaven!

maxxymoosmummy · 05/09/2009 10:02

DIEGE thankyou, and im looking forward to meeting you all too. will be a good experience and change for me and my DS just hope he isnt on a grumpy day as like today haha

i like shopping, but mainly baby shopping now haha so i guess kinda haha

maxxymoosmummy · 05/09/2009 10:05

haha now that cant happen, but i will enjoy a good shop when i want to and have the money of course.

glaskham · 05/09/2009 10:06

Oh- Diege- if only you lived closer- we'd be able to have some amazing shopping trips!! Much to our DH's misfortune i imagine.... however i'm looking forward to our Gap trip!! Though DD2 never got to wear the bargain shorts i bought because of the rubbish weather.... DD1 loved her gold ones though!! Hopefully she'll still fit into them next summer as they were fab on!! And the frilly bummed tights are getting a bit small on DD2 now too- gutted!!

OP posts:
maxxymoosmummy · 05/09/2009 10:26

i want to get max a gap outfit hopefully love them all but hes only ever had the one you bought him but that was amazing shame hes out of it

Diege · 05/09/2009 10:36

Yes, Gap shop planned here too - I have a giftcard given for ds that has been burning a hole in my pocket for a few weeks now
Agree GLASK, would be many happy shopping trips if I lived nearer...having said that, Manchester/Liverpool is only a train ride anyway

Diege · 05/09/2009 10:37

Meant 'train ride away

glaskham · 05/09/2009 10:39

it is, it is..... though dont tempt me yet.... after my hols could maybe plan a xmas shopping trip in manchester?... or after new year maybe just a shopping trip for the hell of it!! hopefully i'll need some smaller sized clothes for myself by then!!

OP posts:
Diege · 05/09/2009 11:20

Sounds good GLASK! Will need some new clothes for work, so a very good logical reason for a splurge. We may get some bargains in the new year too!
