haha i know ye DIEGE think it will be bed straight after x-factor for me.
DS is sat watcing in the night garden his favourite.

thinking of doing some ebay selling to get a bit of extra cash for the christmas shopping.

essenceofSES · 27/09/2009 20:52

Hi all

IDOB - walk soiunds good, as does show. Hopefully not too long now.

GYo - holiday sounds good. Where did you go?

Diege - do you have a date for your move yet?

tink - I heard an advert for the MJ film and thought of you.

Busy day here - church this morning and then my parents over for a BBQ.

Found out at church that a friend I'd not seen for a few weeks has been diagnosed with breast cancer, has had a mastectomy and starts chemo this week She has 2DC and I really feel for them all.

DS is back to bad teething this afternoon and evening. I've tried everything but he just won't be put down.

maxxymoosmummy · 27/09/2009 21:10

awww thats ashame about DSs teething SES hope he ok soon.

thats a real shame about your friend sorry about that. hope all goes well with the chemo for her.

Starshinetiger · 27/09/2009 21:11

Yay for AF/BFN Diege and Kayz - glad you got the results you wanted (but did LOL at you with your "think I've got another baby in me yet" comment Diege!!)

Gruff - yay for GC crawling. DD has been manoeuvring herself for about a week or so - hauling herself along with her arms and knees out to side, but not going very far. This weekend she is off and running - crawling (still on tummy) all over the place, really fast. This evening she even crawled a couple of "steps" on her hands and knees. DS is none too impressed and his most commonly used phrase at the mo is "Charlotte, no", followed by snatching a toy from her!

GYo - glad you had good hols - where did you go?

Right, X Factor finished and I'm off to bed now to try to get at least some sleep in before DD disturbs. Sleep still all cock-a-hoop, but did get 5.5 hours in a row from 11.45pm to 5.15am out of her on Thurs night - was so gobsmacked when I looked at the clock!! She got soooo much praise Ah well, am holding out hope for an improvement by 9/10 months, once she's on 3 proper meals a day.

IDOB - yay for seaside and show

Starshinetiger · 27/09/2009 21:13

Sorry, Ses - brain like a sieve - had only just read your message, but forgot to comment. Sorry for DS' teething. DD has been teething for weeks - well dribbling and chewing on everything (cot bars are a favourite). Fingers crossed for both our babes that some pearly whites poke through soon (now in my sleep-deprived phase, do I remember that your DS does actually have one tooth already, so at least you have something to show for the pain?)

essenceofSES · 27/09/2009 21:31

Hi MMM & Star
Yes, DS got one tooth a week ago. I'm now wondering how long until we see a second!

All this crawling sounds v cute! Am sure when it happens here I'll be paranoid about him banging his head on the coffee table or fireplace. I've seen a Lindam playpen that I might get which also opens out so it can go in a line around the fireplace.

Kayzr · 27/09/2009 22:05

I had DS2 the same day as my show too. So maybe s
we might wake to good news.

cantmummyhaveabreak · 28/09/2009 07:41

morning- only popping in while DC's clothes are on their last mins of the drying.... oops- forgot to put it in last night as i was so tired!!

Had a very succesful shopping trip yesterday- i got the rest of my bits from primark- matching Hooch clothing with primark for my hols- hope i can pull it off!!

IDOB- with DS and DD1 my show came the day before i gave birth and with DD2 it came a few days before my waters broke.

Still very into Florence and the machine- and La Roux album- DH hates them both so i have to listen to them when he's out- have i-tunes playing it now!!

Right best dash- i am supposed to be having a cleaning morning today as my friend is comign over tomorrow..... so i shouldn't be on this morning- but who knows!!

bumpsnowjustplump · 28/09/2009 08:27

Hello all.

I havent been on for ages as we have been so busy recently... And we are all suffering with colds again....

Owen is doing really well he is crawling everywhere. He started at six and a half months and to top it off last night he crawled up to me on the sofa and pulled himself up onto his feet.... does he not know that IT IS TO EARLY GOT HIM TO BE DOING THIS who ever said boys are lazy did't know owen that is for sure!!!

Only down point is his weight. He is still only 16lb and 9oz and has just dropped below the 25th centile. I am getting grief from hv but am ignoring her at the moment....

Jessica is being so good at the moment I have my little baby girl back!!

Hope you are all well and ibot hope your little girl is with you now.....

idreamofbeanie · 28/09/2009 08:32

Morning all, just popping on quickly to say I'm still here but I won't be on again today as DP is working from home so needs the internet connection.

cantmummyhaveabreak · 28/09/2009 09:11

Bump- dont listen to HV- i get it now as my nice HV has left... so the one who's taken over is like the mega-bitch and keeps telling me DD2 should weigh more than she does- she's only just over 13lb- and is the same age as O is. Fair enough she was prem, but she 'should' have caught up by now she keeps telling me. Now he's crawling he'll be burning extra calories too... DS did that, as soon as he started moving about he dropped down the lines but he was very chubby to begin with!! As long as he's happy and healthy thats all that matters.

IDOB- might be a good thing DP is working from home- you may need him later

bumpsnowjustplump · 28/09/2009 09:29

BLW is going well if a little messy... Owen loves feeding himself and we love watching... We are alergy weaning him at the moment so he is not aloud dairy, gluton, wheat or eggs. Jessica went to a party yesterday and I walked in this morning and she had given him half her cake from her party bag!! So I am waiting to see if there is a reaction. There is obviously flour and egg in the cake and was wondering what I should be looking out for? Can anyone help? bless her for sharing though!!!

cantmummyhaveabreak · 28/09/2009 09:41

most likely a rash, swollen lips, blotches around the lips... swollen tongue (if you can see inside his mouth)... thats what DS has with his allergy's.

tinksbiggirlhasstartedschool · 28/09/2009 09:53

morning

dreaded hv dd2 only weighs 14lbs7 she is 8 mnths was due to weigh her this wed will leave it normally get her weighed every 3 weeks going to wait till she is 9 mnths old

tinksbiggirlhasstartedschool · 28/09/2009 09:54

dd1 has been a beast this weekend joys o starting school

Diege · 28/09/2009 09:54

Morning! SES, your poor friend That's so sad, but hopefully now that it's been diagnosed she'll do well with treatment.Good luck with the teething!
MMM, doing the same here with ebay - it's funny how addictive it can get!
BUMP, you have had a bad run of HVs!!! Ignore one - what a cowbag
CANT, may be asing for some advcice on BLW soon. Have just rung Hv and left message about early weaning; J not lasting so long between feeds, and has started waking again in the night.
IDOB, another one who started labour same day as show!

Starshinetiger · 28/09/2009 09:57

Morning all. Hope you have a relaxing day IDOB.

Bump - good to see you. Eeek about O pulling himself up already! DD has just started crawling everywhere - must get cables tidied up around computer as they are a fave of hers and as computer is in playroom = not a good combination!

On the weaning thing and allergies, I was about to post on allergy board about this too. With DS, we looked out for change to consistency of nappies - i.e. if they went diarrohea-y (sp?) or constipated, for increased sickness, or for eczema. With DS the dairy caused diarrohea and the eggs cause eczema. Am watching out for this with DD and taking things very slowly. She is desperate for finger foods and I'm struggling with them, so gave her a breadstick last week and she really struggled with her nappies afterwards (i.e. trouble passing poo, etc), so am holding off on wheat for now. She had apple rice cakes yesterday and they don't seem to have caused much trouble. Can you inspire me - what are you feeding O on with BLW? Incidentally, with DS it was easier to spot what foods caused him problems as he was on hypoallergenic formula, so he had been reacting constantly (i.e. no adverse reactions) to that and any changes caused by food were obvious. With DD, I am finding it harder, 'cos I don't know what might be caused by what I'm eating (had curry on Sat night, yum - made sure it had no allergens in it, but she could of course react to spicyness through my bm?) and what is caused by what she's eating.

Right, best get on - got to get my CV through to work, so I can try to find a job to go back to - I'm now on the redeployment list as they gave my old job to someone else (they are entitled to do this as I'm off for more than 6 months). Worst thing is, my CV has to go to Directors who know me, so no blagging

essenceofSES · 28/09/2009 10:13

Morning! Not such a good night here. DS not happy with his gums and woke up every 2 hrs. I think I can see where his second tooth might come through (next to his first on the bottom). Guess it could take days or weeks though...

Bumps - O is showing you how healthy he is by his progress so ignore the nasty HV.

Weaning - I'm going to try and hold off until 6 months and am trying to make my way through the BLW book which seems to talk a lot of sense.

maxxymoosmummy · 28/09/2009 10:50

morning all, not long been up haha. DS decided that after waking at 7 he was still tired then only woke at 10, lazy boy.

just trying to find something to do today
nothing is coming to mind though
any ideas? as the weather isnt brilliant either.

tinksbiggirlhasstartedschool · 28/09/2009 12:18

any thoughts ladies

need to find some more long sleeved bodysuits for dd2 to wear under dresses?

what do others do?

think bracken is going to get a tooth any day can see white line @ bottom

Diege · 28/09/2009 12:45

TINKS, H&M do some good long-sleeved body suits for going under dresses, dungarees etc. They are quite hard to find generally I find, so I tend to put J in a vest, then a long-sleeved top under his dungarees. I always worry that he'll get too hot, but seems to be ok like this.
MMM, how about a walk to the park if the rain stops? Or failing that a quick pop round to the shops to get some choccy?
SES, I'd say hold on as long as you can with weaning, as once you start it can be a real faff when out and about, heating stuff up/remembering finger food etc etc. The only reason I'm keen now is that J seems so dissatisfied with his milk, and we can't go onto the hungrier formula as on the stay-down reflux stuff..
Have just had a parcel from French Connection. Got some leggings with gold studs down the side (looks better than it sounds so feeling very on-trend Also got the older dds soem bits from the kid's section - very impressed with the quality!

Kayzr · 28/09/2009 13:29

Ses, sorry to hear about your friend. I hope the treatment works.

I have found myself looking at the bugaboo bee today. I am considering selling the p&t and getting a second hand bee. But not sure if DS1 is able to go a whole day out without needing to sit in the pushchair.

bumpsnowjustplump · 28/09/2009 15:27

Star he is having breakfast and lunch which will be a mix of 2/3 of the following:

whole banana
mango strips
pear strips
orange pealed
whole blueberries
whole raspberries
watermelon chunks
cooked apple slices
pineapple chunks
whole tomatoes
cucumber strips
cooked carrot stick
brocolli sticks
cooked pepper sticks
avocado sticks
gluton free penne pasta with homemade pesto (no nuts and no cheese)

Then for dinner he has what ever we are having but I have to take the meat out before I serve his as he has no teeth yet...

so last week he had (all homemade)

beef stew (no beef and made with baby stock cubes)
salmon risotto (no cheese on his and made with soya milk)
fish cakes but no breadcrumbs on his
gluton free vegaterian spag bog.
chicken stirfry (without the chicken and noodles... but extra mini corns and other veg for him.
sweet potato and goats cheese bake.. with veg
and on sunday we went to a birthday party so I just took cooked veg sticks for him...

He really is eating as we are but I am taking the meat out before i give it to him.. He wont let us feed him now!!!

hope this helps. I am using goats cheese and soya milk when milk or cheese is needed in cooking as he can not have oat milk as oats contain gluton.....

bumpsnowjustplump · 28/09/2009 17:21

oh and rice cakes with homemade humus (SP?) is a hit as well...

tinksbiggirlhasstartedschool · 28/09/2009 18:00
