Not too keen on the trays LIGHTENING, love the others, plus CANT's link too.
Preston does sound fab for shopping, easy for me to get to too...maybe a shopping trip soon ladies??? (plus end of Jan shop in Manchester?).
CANT, it is diffucult to justify deseigner spends on the kids, but when you've seen something gorgeous it really does eat away, and you end up spending just as much over the months in the cheaper shops to make up for not getting the expensive stuff . And they've got wear something the poor little mites Maybe just get a few bits from the shop you mention? I have to say I have a penchant for Catamini stuff, and get dd3 a few bits every season; sells well on ebay too (there you go, you can sell it after - justified )

IWroteOffLightningMcQueen · 22/09/2009 14:29

Well Diege, come Novemeber/December I have 2 birthdays and 3 xmas' to do, might as well make a day of it?! (Plus I should be driving by then, no bloody buses!)

IWroteOffLightningMcQueen · 22/09/2009 14:36

Actually, any of you very serious shopping queens, in November-ish time, I also have to find new bedroom furniture for DH and I, DS1 and for DS2's bedroom, a kitchen type table and chairs, toy storage and sofa for the play room, erm.... oh a bookcase to match my computer desk for the study, and some sort of shoe/coat storage for the hall, and there will not doubt be more to add to the list.

So keeps your peels eyed, and tell me when you see nice things!

cantmummyhaveabreak · 22/09/2009 14:36

DH says that he doesn't mind me spending that amoutn if i promise to sell after use.... but i do worry about it selling for peanuts afterwards. I should be able to make a Preston shopping trip sometime... would need to only buy bits for xmas for the DC's though really. Haven't a clue what i'm getting them though TBh- think we're getting DD2 an activity station and a couple of little toys plus clothing etc... then both older DC's want an mp3 player, so we've found them in argos- the rest i haven't a clue about!!

cantmummyhaveabreak · 22/09/2009 14:41

Oh Lightening- House shopping is the best!! I'm going to be getting geared up to get new living room furniture before next summer- we've set a deadline of mext june to complete the living room- top to bottom!! fully plastered, new skirtings, new flooring- basically everything new bar the sofa as we love our sofa and we've only had it since last november!!

IWroteOffLightningMcQueen · 22/09/2009 14:43

Oooooh finally managed to get through to them and book my driving test 26th October.

Only took a week of ringing 4/5 times a day!

Spose I'd best go and get DS1

cantmummyhaveabreak · 22/09/2009 14:49

maxxymoosmummy · 22/09/2009 18:41

evening everyone, just posting whilst watching hollyoaks.

max is trying to go to sleep but keeps getting his foot caught in the bars on his cot, and cant get it out, so had a few tears, poor boy.

hows everyones day been?

Starshinetiger · 22/09/2009 20:04

Just a quick one - Lightning, have you considered JojoMamanBebe? There is a 10% discount code for MNers. Got their catalogue code through today - you will be paying £20-30 for a coat, but a lot cheaper than the £130 one you've seen. The stuff looks gorgeous - maybe there is a shop nearish to you? I love the stuff, but for me I consider it a bit overpriced when I've got H&M, M&S or Next close to hand (thinking that maybe we're skinflints?! ). Am sorely tempted with the all in one fleecy number for DD for the winter though.

Also, if anyone is interested in buying from Morrck www.morrck.co.uk then I have discount vouchers I can give to you. I don't work for them or anything, but I do have 2 of their baby hoodies - one in car seat and one in buggy and I love their stuff!

Kayzr · 22/09/2009 20:15

Hello.

Very very quick post. DS2 is asleep. I hope it will last all night again. It took an hour tonight which is good compared to last nights 1.5 hours.

Lightning, I love these. We are going to get them for DS1's room. You can mix and match it.

maxxymoosmummy · 22/09/2009 21:17

thts good KAYZ at least its better than last night. soon it will be a matter of mins jus u wait

DS eventually realized that it was him that got his foot stuck all the time. longest time to get to sleep but oh wel. cant complain.

Diege · 22/09/2009 21:29

MMM have you thought about baby sleeping bags for ds? Remember how well they worked for dds when they woke due to trapped legs
Hope the night goes well KAYZ! Seems like things are geading in the right direction sleep-wise
STAR, a big fan of JOJO here too Have got a few bits from there for ds that look v-cute on. Will have a look at your link too
Right, sitting it out until the 10pm bottle, so tired! Have slimming world syns to consume now - 6 chocolate fingers...figure they're better than my permitted 2 choc digestives, or 5 rich teas...
Let's hope we all sleep well tonight!

maxxymoosmummy · 22/09/2009 22:13

i have thought of them yes, but hes one of these babies that no matter what the weather is like he will sweat buckets. so just thought they will be too much for him and make him too warm.

maxxymoosmummy · 22/09/2009 23:48

right its off to bed for me, as im at a group with max at 10 so an early start.

night all hope everyone has a good night sleep.

Kayzr · 23/09/2009 07:19

Morning,

I love JOJO and Blooming Marvellous for clothes. They do some gorgeous sleepsuits. I'm thinking of getting DS1 this coat. I could spend a fortune there.

Well he did it again. DS2 slept until half 6!! But I woke at 3 again. I think I might be in a routine too.

Hope you are all well.

IWroteOffLightningMcQueen · 23/09/2009 07:33

Morning

Star! I had completely forgotten about JoJo, not sure why but when I'm pregnant and have a new born, JoJo (and Blooming Marvellous - why do I always pair those two shops together?!) always play a big part in my shopping lists, but then I forget about it again (despite one or t'other's catalogues turning up every other week!)

Kayz, I've seen those units, thing is at the moment, we have a unit that is very similar (well sort of, it's an Ikea one, wooden, with 6 cubes, one with a door on, so not really similar except the cube thing, but anyway....! Obviously not very articulate this morning....) TBH, it doesn't hold anything, everything just falls out of them, I need something with actual containers, and lots of them! There are other sites that do the school furniture, and you can usually get them with doors on, so I'm sure I'd find something. Am thinking also of getting some 'hidden' storage solutions for the playroom, you know like those sofa's that you can lift the cushions up on, or a toy box that has a soft lid so could be used as a chair/bench as well, that sort of thing.

I've actually found some really cool furniture for DS1's room in Ikea, will link later when I've more time, but am quite excited about it. And I've decided to get DS2 one of those beds that look like a racing car (he is bloody car mad, poor kid) his drawers and wardrobes are fine, they are white painted pine though, I might if I get time, paint them red or something to match his bed, carry the red on with car posters and car accessories, but I do need to find him some storage furniture for his room, but it needs to be something he can't get to on his own, else I'll send him up to bed and then find him playing with everything at midnight! Not sure what though.

And have stumbled across this (I love that shop!) for the kitchen, only thing is, I really love the idea of it, but, those chairs, with kids, with sticky fingers, they are going to be wrecked in five minutes, so want to find something very similar but with leather chairs, so I can easily wipe them. (And, I really don't like paying that sort of money for something that has 'faux' in the title! Bloody 'faux', stupid bloody word anyway, what's wrong with fake?)

Am hating this, knowing that in a couple of months, I will have the money to go and put all these ideas in to reality, but I also know by then that we'll be unpacking, trying to sort xmas and bdays, trying to get schools sorted out, and all the rest of it, and I won't have the sodding time to go proper house shopping

IWroteOffLightningMcQueen · 23/09/2009 07:35

Haha, Kay, you do the same as me, JoJo and BM just go together And big hooray for DS sleeping through, you'll soon get out of your routine.

Kayzr · 23/09/2009 07:39

Ooooh Nat we need a new dining table so I will have a look there.

IWroteOffLightningMcQueen · 23/09/2009 07:42

I maybe should have put a warning up about that link actually, it is very dangerous and expensive to click it (I could buy everything they have, don't think I've ever seen anything in there that I don't like!)

It's a wierd one though, you look at something and think to yourself "oooohh bet that's loadsamoney", and it's not, look at something else and they want £400 more than you'd pay anywhere else for.

IWroteOffLightningMcQueen · 23/09/2009 07:45

OMG, it's 7.45, kids aren't even up yet....

Talking shopping this early is not good!

tinksbiggirlhasstartedschool · 23/09/2009 09:09

wow lightening good shopping talk
must be off to jolly babies

cantmummyhaveabreak · 23/09/2009 09:24

Morning- one of my worst nights yet with DD2!!!! She was up so much!! I ended up feeding her at 11.30, 12.30, 1.30, 3.30, 5.30 & 6.30.... plus all the times i had to get up and try giving her her dummy- i'm getting so bloody tired!! I just wanna cry!! I get a night when she only wakes twice and think we're back on the right track then she goes all to pot again!! I wish i could stick her cot in the bathroom- she'd not wake me as much, and not wake the other DC's.... i can't ignore her very well as she then wakes DH who has work the next day- argh!!!!!

Nat- i heart that table- but it only has 4 seats... i need a 6 seat or more really... the one i currently have is what my parents got us for our wedding present- a cherry oak 6 seater, but can extend to fit another 2 in if we need it... quite handy for xmas dinner too as i put so much on we'd not have room for plates without extending it!!

IWroteOffLightningMcQueen · 23/09/2009 09:29

LOL

IWroteOffLightningMcQueen · 23/09/2009 09:38

Oh sorry for crappy night Glask And yes, heartbreakingly sad it does only have the 4 seats, but my dining room table is 6ft long! It's only for in the kitchen, we wouldn't all sit down to a proper dinner in there, plus, the conservatory is open to the kitchen and we'll have a sofa in there, and I am still somehow managing to get DS2 in his highchair (so much easier else he'll nick everyone else's food and not eat his if he's on the loose) and DS3 is obviously still in his highchair so we don't really need the 6 seater in the kitchen.

At the moment, we've got a kids table and 2 chairs which is where they sit to eat snacks, but, DS1 is actually far too big for it (When he sits straight up his knees lift the table off the floor!) but obviously DS2 and in a few months DS3 it is perfect size for them, and that will be in the kitchen/conservatory so they'd have that anyway.

Right, am ignoring any x posts for now, I must get the kitchen sorted and hoover, if someone came in now I would very very very deeply embarressed, in fact not sure I'd even let them in!!

See you in a bit x
