Morning... Wuhoo for DS2 sleeping through Kayz!! My night's also seem to be getting a bit better with DD2, she's waking about 3 times a night... thats better than the 6 she used to!! Though i wish she'd go every 3hrs in the night, she does normally go 3hrly in the day, but goes around 2hrly at the moment in the night.

DS didn't want to go to school today- he was so angry with me because i said he had to go that he kicked me in the shin!! couldn't believe it- he's normally so calm (ok, we have a tantrum every few days but normally at bedtime or if i've taken them out and he gets tired or doesn't get his own way) so i have a bruise on my shin and an angry DS at school...

DH is back at work after 5 days off- i feel lost without him, he's been fantastic around the house, he's been doing 70% of the housework and i've been doing the childcare... now i have to do it all on my own!!

And on top of that my hoover is bust- i have to send it back to Vax to have it repaired or replaced, dont know how i'm gonna cope without a hoover while it's there, and can't afford to buy one really.... though am thinking of asking on freecycle, or buying a very cheap cylinder one that could then be kept as a spare if it breaks again.... plan to get a new dyson next year anyway so only need a few months useage out of it!! I'm gutted with my Vax- it was amazing for about 6mths, now its crap!! My dyson was 6 years old when i gave it to my sister and it'd still working- could just do with a new filter and it'd be fine!!

maxxymoosmummy · 22/09/2009 11:05

morning all,

KAYZ thats good news about DS2 hope it stays that way for you.

not on for long as need to get ready, and have lunch before taking DS to the doctors for his 7-9 month check.

DS is having his nap atm so a good time for me to get myself ready.

will be back on later to catch up.

hope everyone has a great day.

Diege · 22/09/2009 11:47

Hello! Sorry for bad night (for you) Kayz - maybe you'll sleep better yourself when (fingers crossed) it's a regular occurence with ds 2!
MMM shopping sounds good! I was going to go into town today, but rain is v.heavy so may give it a miss now until tomorrow.

Hi BODEN! Or is it TINK again now?? Rang up Boden today to get a list of my orders that are yet to be delivered. Have to wait until middle of december can you believe for ds's winter coat . She blamed their suppliers in Honk Kong, but we really know it's a demand thing don't we

Bugger about the hoover CANT . I remember you saying how rubbish Vax's were in York. Must also have been super stressful with ds and his tantrum and the kicking - don't think I;d be too impressed with that!

Hold your nerve STAR! I have been reading your posts about sleep with interest, as I think we're singing from the same hymn sheet where sleep is concerned! I had a bad one last night, but held out with 'shh-ing and patting, and he wasn't even hungry at 7am when I got his bottle . Years ago when the 'rules' were different on them going into their own room, I suppose I wouldn't even be woken by his grumblings at 3am, but it's a different thing when he's a foot away!
STT, ds sounds hard work at the moment! It may not be worse when the baby is here, just 'different', and you never know the change may have a positive effect on ds?? Remember how challenging it is with babies and toddlers!
Wonder if anyone has any pearls of wisdom about my cycle? Had a period the beginning of September (first after birth) and then on Sat just gone had a bit of spotting (not enough for a pad)Now nothing . Am wondering if this could be my second period?? I would be on day 19 on Sat, so could conceiveably be a very light one and a week early. I do track my cycle for contraception purposes so would be useful to know I suppose periods can be very irregular for a few months post-natal, but have not experienced this before. Feeling quite crampy too, so maybe the rest of it will turn up soon!

Moosy · 22/09/2009 12:31

Heehe Diege, could it be implantation?

Diege · 22/09/2009 12:35

Well funny you should say that MOOS... . We did have a gof about a week earlier, but used that withdrawal method. Yes, I KNOW!!! but it's never failed in the past, and I am 99.9999% sure it hasn't this time either. Oh your cardi/wrap has been washed and is ready to post

tinksbiggirlhasstartedschool · 22/09/2009 12:57

diege - lol about gof and boden i only ordered stuff in stock have no patience.

any tips for dd1. her school tites r rigt length but massive on feet her school shoes have left marks on her little toes today!!

IWroteOffLightningMcQueen · 22/09/2009 13:02

Hello

Looks like you all had a good time in York What did you do for lunch in the end?

Glask, am very pleased for you that your period arrived! Got a bit worried for you there for a while!

Diege, erm, my MC occured from the quick dip thing.... (can I get excited for you?!!)

And Tink/Diege, if you see any decent kind of heavy jackets/light coats, in a 12-18m for a boy, please tell me. Am trying to find one for Mikey, have looked in all the normal places, the only one I've found is £130, and I am point blank refusing to pay that much, even if I was a millionaire I don't think I could bring myself to pay £130 for a baby coat!

Have had loads of stuff going on here, DH and I fell out big style again, trying to get back on track.

Our buyer's solicitor rang yesterday saying they want to complete and move in on Friday! LOL That obviously isn't going to happen, so they are being a bit shirty now, but I said to DH, if they pulled out over it, there is no way they'd find another house, get the survey and all the searches sorted out, get their mortgage offer and complete by Friday, they'd be being utter cockheads to do it.

We've decided to go for that house we went to see, the owners don't move out till the 23rd Oct, so we won't be able to move out till then at the very earliest, would be more likely to be the following week, the owners are leaving the country, if something holds them up, furniture or whatever, we'd be out of here and not in there, but the same still goes, the buyers would be very very very lucky to start the ball rolling on buying a different house and then to be in earlier than the end of October. Someone asked for the pictures of the house. There aren't any of the inside (and TBH, if the lack of a decent description is anything to go by, the pictures wouldn't have been much cop either! There are rooms/features in that house that aren't even mentioned in the description, and it is actually in Hesketh Bank, not Tarleton as it says on the decription! - Great LA hey?!)

cantmummyhaveabreak · 22/09/2009 13:05

try to buy tights with no foot section? just straight up and down?.... dont know, DD is in 2-3 tights and if they have the feet sections then they are a bit too big still, i just pull then up so they're at the back of her ankles so her feet are in her shoes right with the tights.

Diege- maybe you'll need that test after-all???....

Have sold the 2 lots of baby clothing i put on ebay already!! and the coat is also selling- may give a bit of extra holiday money to spend on the DC's!!.... Have been buying bits for DD1 though..... what i didn't realise is i was buying her 3-6 clothing, and this morning i found another huge bag full of 3-6 clothes i've already bought for her- so i now only need a couple of cardigains in 3-6 and she has way more than enough!!

Need to start buying entra bits in 6-9 although she does already have lots and lots in that size too- i'm running out of things to be able to buy!! Am thinking of buying DS some more things next..... DD1 already has tons and tons!! got her loads of tops etc in the next sale a few months back that is all still brand new!! Plus she has about 8 brand new outfits that are packed for our holiday!!

cantmummyhaveabreak · 22/09/2009 13:10

Lightening- house looks nice!! I'm also pleased AF arrived!!

On that subject DH has the snip on the 23rd oct!! He was booked in for the 30th this month, but thats his works conference so he can't do that day.... though it's only 5 weeks away!! He's dreading it!! But it'll be worth it to not have that panic ever again!!

cantmummyhaveabreak · 22/09/2009 13:11

Lightening- what were you wanting the jacket/coat for? have you looked at the ones on debenhams? there's some nice ones...

Diege · 22/09/2009 13:12

Nooo, sorry to dash your hopes everyone but really don;t think no.5 is on the way...it would be pretty disasterous if it was, and I don;t even want to 'go there' in my mind just yet!
NAT, house looks great . Area looks pretty quiet too from the picture. You're right about your buyers, no way would they pull out now after all the stages you have to go through. We're at the mortgage stage, nearly there, and then it's valuation time. Hopefully in end of Oct! Oh and talking coats, some great little baby coats in mini boden. I've ordered the grey jersey duffle, and also have the teddy fleece in blue. H&M also do great baby boy coats!

IWroteOffLightningMcQueen · 22/09/2009 13:31

LOL Glask, don't know if you'll remember but DH went to have the snip, they said they couldn't do it because he had hernias, he went to see GP for a referral to the general surgeon, GP said no hernias, and referred him to have the snip at the big hospital "where they are more experienced" apparently! He got a letter from the big hospital saying their computer system had broken down so they couldn't make him an appointment (what ever happened to pen and paper hey?!) and we've not heard anything since!

Have looked at both Debenhams and Boden this morning, nothing quite.... right, they are all either too light or too heavy, it's only for when he's in the buggy, he's got his cosytoes on, but most days now a jumper isn't enough and his coat is too much. Just want something.... in between. By the time I've found it, it'll probably be snowing...!

Good luck with the mortgage stage Diege! I still can't believe these buyers, they only had the results of the survey and the proper mortgage offer (rather than the in principal one) on Friday just gone, and now all of a sudden they want to move in on Friday.... I am very bemused TBH! In fact, I think it would be absolutely hilarious to be a fly on the wall in this house if we had to move us and everything else out it for Friday, it could be mildly hilarious!

IWroteOffLightningMcQueen · 22/09/2009 13:37

PS, why don't FatFace do baby clothes It's ageist is what it is. It's like a big tease, you finally find a good decent shop that sells good decent clothes, and then it turns round and says, but you can't dress your littlest one's in it, oh no no no no no, piss off back to sodding M&S (Now I quite like a little bit of M&S, but am actually starting to shiver everytime I think of buying clothes for the kids, it is the only shop in town that does a selection of kids clothes, and by selection I am talking 2 tops, 2 bottoms and one outfit! Can't wait to move, will be so close to shopping heaven Preston

IWroteOffLightningMcQueen · 22/09/2009 13:39

Did I just do a proper rant? Not a whinge or a moan, but a proper full on rant?

Diege · 22/09/2009 13:45

Twas a very enjoyable rant to read One possible place for The Coat might be H&M you know.. (I know I keep going on about it...) They have lots of different weights and styles... How is Preston for shopping? Is that the Fishergate centre??

cantmummyhaveabreak · 22/09/2009 13:47

agree about fat face Lightening!! DD1 has the most beautiful skirt from there, and DS has 2 lovely pairs of shorts from there too... though i expect he'll be out of his shorts after next summer (they were a tad big this summer)... and DD1's skirt is age 2years!!.... well she's 3.5yo now!!

As for your Dh and the snip- i remember you saying he'd been told he had hernia's. Shame you've not heard back yet- I can't wait for DH to have it done!! I'd get sterilised myself if i didn't wanna be a surrogate so badly!!

Diege · 22/09/2009 13:50

Ooh yes CANT, are you meeting with your surrogate friend this week ??

cantmummyhaveabreak · 22/09/2009 13:50

Preston is very good Diege, there's the Fishergate and St Georges!! there's M&S, H&M, Debenhams, Next... a few funky baby clothes shops..... I dont mind a good days shopping in preston- then i'll normally go and meet DH out of work for a lift home!!

Actually on the subject of kids shopping i've found a stunning little kids boutique near us... They have the most amazing boots for DD1.... and outfits for both girls that i really want- but it's going to cost me over £300 for them both to be kitted out.... do i justify it as its for xmas? or do i buy nice but cheaper from boden or suck like as it'll be outgrown too fast??

cantmummyhaveabreak · 22/09/2009 13:52

Was going to be today... but she's got a bad cold and doesn't want to pass it to ruby- so we're now hoping for next tuesday!! Third time lucky- i had to cancel the first week, she's had to cancel this week- so fingers crossed for next week!!

IWroteOffLightningMcQueen · 22/09/2009 13:57

Well I had said I'm going to actually go to the shops type of going shopping rather than slaving away at google this weekend, but think we're going to have to start getting the packing underway now... I find with H&M I go in once and want to buy the whole store, I go in next time and it's all a bit meh. And yes it is the Fishergate, although I actually prefer the actual town. Having said that not been to the town centre for a little while but last time I was there it was great, and I am nearly certain I saw on FatFace's site that they were opening a store in Preston.

Fat Face is great for the kids, and for DH, their stuff is a little bit too sporty for me, but have a couple of nice casual tops from there and their jeans are fab.

On a different type of shopping... what do we think of these type of storage things for all the toys and these things for all the books? Am thinking in the playroom, not bedrooms. Are they a bit too schooly, I know they are made for schools but are they a bit, OTT?

cantmummyhaveabreak · 22/09/2009 14:01

love the book things.... not keen on the other one.... maybe too schooly???

cantmummyhaveabreak · 22/09/2009 14:04

that is more my cup of tea for toy storage....

IWroteOffLightningMcQueen · 22/09/2009 14:18

Yep deffo prefer the look of that one but it just wouldn't hold enough. And I want drawers/cupboards with doors, so it can all be shut away!

IWroteOffLightningMcQueen · 22/09/2009 14:22

See there is this one, that is less schooly, but, all the drawers are the same shape and size and it would be much more practical having drawers of differing sizes.

Although two maybe three of those ones and maybe two of these ones would just about do it.
