Can Iadd myself to the Saturday race please?!!! I want this baby out!

BabyLady · 07/09/2009 19:56

Hi Ladies,

Congrats LittleCheese!! Great weight. Harder to get them out I reckon (though not apparently for you!!) but easier if they are bigger when they are out.

Neddie I think you are amazing with BF both the twins, who look beautiful by the way. I am finding it hard enough with one to feed! Sore nipples here tbh. I am going to the walk in BF clinic tomorrow to get my technique a bit further refined too.

I have posted a couple of snaps of wee Toby on my profile. Let me know if you can't see them as I am not sure I have the preferences set up properly yet.

LadyStealthPolarBear · 07/09/2009 20:38

ooh he's so gorgeous. Making me broody (if you can be described as broody at 9 months pregnant!)

PeppermintCream · 07/09/2009 21:13

Congratulations to all the new mums! I'm loving seeing the photos of the new babies.

Stayfrosty I am taking DD to Bear Hunt on Thursday, she can't wait (neither can I).

Midwife phoned today to tell me that my iron levels have gone up (thank goodness) this liquid iron is absolutely vile.

AprilMeadow · 08/09/2009 08:33

How is everyone this morning?

Looks like i am in for another day of twinges that dont really go anywhere. Had some twinges in the bath last night and then took dh up on his offer of 'helping' to get the baby out - very comical! Have had the cx/bh's (whatever they are) since i woke up but not holding my breath that it comes to anything. Although i would like to think that if it could happen for LittleCheese then maybe i might be that lucky as well

For those of you with iPhones/iPod Touches, try downloading the Contraction Master timer app. (PurpleCrazyHorse mentioned that she used it) It's great, times from when you touch the screen at the start and then stops when you touch it again. It measures the length of the cx's and also the frequency so there is no need for watches or pens&paper.

Just going to eat my bacon & cheese sarnie before heading into town to meet my friend and her 11wk old baby boy

TrixieVix · 08/09/2009 09:41

Well, I am thoroughly fed up. Had the handyman round last night to finish a couple of jobs round the house (we only moved in about 6 weeks ago). He put the border up in the baby's room and I think he's used the wrong adhesive because I've gone in this morning and the border has gone transparent in places where the glue is - it looks a real mess. He's also not matched up the joins properly and I feel absolutely gutted. I know it's probably my hormones, but I hired someone to do it as I knew I wouldn't be happy with the job I'd done, but I honestly feel like I could have done a better job. He's used 2 rolls of the border (all I have got) which was £11 each and I can't get any more without ordering over the internet, so god knows how long delivery will take (it's from M&P and the nearest store we have is Nottingham and we're in Lincoln)...I just feel gutted.

And to top it off, I've ordered a chest of drawers for the baby's room which now aren't going to be delivered until next Tuesday (my due date). They're such minor problems, but I really wanted to get everything sorted before the baby arrived.

Sorry for the 'me' post, but needed to vent!

Hope everyone's feeling well and babies are behaving

SprinkleofStardust · 08/09/2009 09:46

Good Morning ladies, still huge here!!

Babylady, Toby is absolutely gorgeous!! I too must admit to feeling quite broody LADYStealth (maybe because we feel like we're going to be pregnant forever??)

Welcome to the race LJ29, although I am not convinced my LO will be out by Saturday, I've told DH to resign himself to being at work for another whole week. Have decided to just chill out and not get too excited about every twinge, thinking it means something's happening, I've enjoyed being pregnant so I'll just try and enjoy the last few weeks days even with the discomfort, pain, feeling like a weeble, you know the general glamourousness that is being pregnant!!

Hope everyone has a good day x

TigerFeet · 08/09/2009 09:49

Welcome along to the Saturday race LJ29

I had a lot of twinges last night but all settled down again now. Harrumph. Probably for the best, we are having new carpet fitted in dd's room today and she will get new furniture tomorrow so it would probably be best if the baby stays put until that's all done.

I don't have an ipod touch but there's also a contraction timer online - here. Looking forward to being able to use it myself!

Poor you TrixieVix, I can totally sympathise, all this last minute stuff with dd's/baby's room and furniture arriving has been driving me insane... I feel that once it's all sorted I'll finally be able to relax. If I lived anywhere near M&P I'd post you some more border. I'm not too far from Lincoln myself, blardy miles away from anywhere!!

JRocks · 08/09/2009 09:52

How annoying trixievix, I don't blame you for feeling narked.

I woke just after 1am this morning, having cramps and cx/bh (can't tell the difference either). Got to the point where they were every 7/8 mins, whether I was lying down, sitting down or standing up and walking round. Rang the on call midwife who said to get some rest as it sounded like things were starting off properly. Fell back asleep somewhere around 3.30 through exhaustion and woke up this morning to no baby, and everything stopped again...grrr.

If I'm not going into labour I do think it's slightly unfair of my body to wake me every night and trick me into thinking I am!

How is everyone today?

SprinkleofStardust · 08/09/2009 09:52

Oh TrixieVix, poor you, I understand why you feel like that, if you pay someone to do a job then they should do it properly. I would tell the handyman and get him to compensate you at least for the £22. He can't deny a hormonal, heavily pregnant woman unless he's a fool

Hope you feel better soon x

Minshu · 08/09/2009 10:02

StayFrosty - I'm due on 22nd, too, but am getting no impression that the baby is in any hurry to go anywhere, and have always thought I'd end up in October, too [why, oh why no impatient emoticon?] I've invited the girls round this Friday- perhaps that will drive things the other way. Two good reasons for me not to have wanted to be stuck in hospital until baby put in an appearance.

Lol at LadyStealth - glad to hear that you are broody - a bit late to change our minds, now, I think.

Toby is gorgeous, BabyLady!

TrixieVix - that's why DP doesn't like to get people in to do jobs he could reasonably manage himself. I thought he was just being a perfectionist, but seeing the job that the "professional tilers" did in our bathroom compared to what he'd have done makes me a bit cross, even now 5 months later. Not actually bad, but they took ages and the finish isn't what we'd hoped, iyswim. Also, I had hoped to get the carpet delivered this week so we could put furniture back into the nursery, but it won't arrive until next week - I only just fit down the landing with the bookshelves and chest of drawers lined up out there .

Minshu · 08/09/2009 10:36

How long before birth does this legendary nesting instinct kick in? I'm suffering from extreme CBA (can't be arsed) syndrome today. Think I might go and investigate daytime TV soon...

Gonnabamumma · 08/09/2009 12:15

I am also suffering from severe CBA Minshu. I am supposed to be putting stuff on ebay but I somehow found myself here instead (bad girl!)

At least it is a lovely day here in London town - roasting hot. Am supposed to be going to baby yoga tonight, but think I might blow if off in favour of a curry instead.

Have 8 days left and haven't had so much as a twinge - think I may be pregnant forever....

TigerFeet · 08/09/2009 12:22

I have been very busy frantically tidying and cleaning recently, and I get the shakes if the washing pile gets higher than a load's worth, but I definitely have CBA today. DD is going to a friend's after school so I have until 7pm to do fuck all in [eats cake]

Lovely day here in Lincolnshire too

I'd go for a walk but CBA

Minshu · 08/09/2009 12:34

I've half-heartedly pushed the dyson round, and managed to avoid putting the tv on, so far. I can hear the chocolate hob nobs calling...

It's warm and windy up here, but expecting the rain any time so will have to get the washing in. Might go for a walk to the seaside later (if CBA subsides).

LJ29 · 08/09/2009 12:39

CBA here too. Just can't get off the sofa and have even dozed off for half an hour. Think I'll just have to carry on slobbing out until I have to fetch DS from school.

TrixieVix · 08/09/2009 12:54

Hi all - sorry for my rant earlier and thank you for your sympathy! I know it's my hormones making me think it's 10 times worse than it is, but you know what it's like! DH has promised to recitfy the border when he's home from work - think the 20+ emails I sent him feeling sorry for myself did the trick.

I am in deffo feeling sorry for myself and CBA mode today - DS and I are still in our pj's on the sofa with the duvet watching Cbeebies! I am a terrible mother and keep meaning to get up, but just CBA! Have got a midwife appointment at 3pm and have decided to walk to the surgery which is about a mile away with DS so we're both getting some fresh air. Do you think I'll be able to persuade her to do anything to get the baby out, seeing as I'm not due until a week today?

Tigerfeet - whereabouts in Lincolnshire are you?

blinder · 08/09/2009 13:21

Not sure why I am so contrary but I have written 1000 words of my dissertation today and my CBA syndrome has passed.

I have basically decided that I'm NOT pregnant after all - the baby was supposed to arrive last Friday but she hasn't so it's probably wind / pies. The BHs every 15 mins like clockwork for the last three days are tummy cramps from the aforementioned wind and pies.

Which means I should definitely get on with the writing and stop waiting for a baby.

Meantime, you pregnant ladies should certainly be on the hob-nobs, and avoiding the hoovering like mad. Can't Be Arsed, Won't Be Arsed, I say. Enjoy!

BTW LOVING the baby pics!

SprinkleofStardust · 08/09/2009 13:28

I've just got up from having a nap, took CBA to the full extent and actually went back to bed!!!

Well done Blinder, 1000 words, I feel tired just thinking about it!!

Meeting a friend at 3 so will do something today but all my nesting seems to have left me completely!!

SprinkleofStardust · 08/09/2009 13:51

DH must have CBA today too as he's just told me about this website that can answer questions for you, just been asking what we should call our LO...

LadyStealthPolarBear · 08/09/2009 14:01

lol blinder - what a surprise! Like those people you hear about that gve birth without realising they were pregnant, but in reverse!
I definitely CBA today, DS was up loads in the night with an ear infection so he's tired, wingey and clingy today and I'm tired and CBA - not a good combination;

TrixieBelden · 08/09/2009 14:02

I wish I'd got the CBA memo earlier, I just spent three quarters of an hour trimming the hedges out front. And I mended DD's school blazer (yes, already) and did three loads of washing. This baby really ought to hurry the hell up.

LittleCheese · 08/09/2009 14:11

hi ladies just popped on to update profile with a pic of my beautiful dd2 hope you are all well
